  1. 66 Strawberry Cheescake @katakwasabi when are we going to change the theme? I thought last time the plan was to change the theme every now and then?
  2. Just finished re-watching ep 10. Here are some of my thoughts: I know that people have been comparing IkSong to JongSu-Rosa, but after re-watching up to ep 10, there's another couple that is also very similar to IkSong. Seok Min- Seon Bin! In the past episode, it was shown that SM-SB also spent considerable amount of time eating together (just the two of them). In ep 10, somehow I felt Seok Min's character is similar to IJ: the outgoing and proactive one; later on he's also the one who confessed first. Seon Bin on the other hand is a bit like SongHwa - she's more passive and seems like the 'cool' one in the relationship; later on I also felt that at first she either wasn't sure about her feeling or she was unwilling to start anything? During JongSu-Rosa car scene, JongSu advised Rosa to let 'time' solve her problem and not to force herself to face it right then and there. This perhaps is what SHwa was unconsciously trying to do when she decided to go to Sokcho in the next ep??? Why oh why I suddenly have a feeling that SHwa's answer on IJ's question will be a 'no' .... I suppose if it's a 'yes' straightaway then there won't be any excitement watching this pair anymore? My fav scenes: IJ's expression when he saw SHwa slept next to Woo Joo IJ-SHwa's eating breakfast - somehow I felt both happy and sad when watching this scene. It's like IJ somehow realised that SHwa wasn't reciprocating his feeling~~ @LaLa @im0202 - sorry girls but I just have to tag you two otherwise no one is going to read this HAHAHAHHAHAH. But don't feel bad if you don't read it either, all is good

  4. @MayanEcho @NiteWalker good thing hubby is a 'simple' no style person (in terms of hair cut). He likes his hair short with no fancy style. So he bought his own trimmer and grooming set and cut his own hair. So his hair has always been short and lockdown is no problem for him (although shhh shhh... i must say there were a few times I was really shocked aka horrified seeing his hair cut but i got used to it after one or two days hehe).
  5. @abs-oluteM Thank you for the script reading video and posters and glad that you're planning to watch it. It's interesting to see Jung Sang Hoon (oh yeahhhhh I was so happy to find that he's gonna star in this too!) being placed as third after Cho Yeo Jeong and Go Joon in the interview. Do you think his name should be in the 'main cast' just under Go Joon? Asianwiki listed his name further down the list and I thought at first he might just be a supporting actor. If it turns out that Jung Sang Hoon is one of the main cast, I'll be super happy coz it means he'll get a lot of screen time. The synopsis itself doesn't give away much in terms of the plot..it's very vague. But hopefully upcoming teasers and trailers will make it clearer and get more people interested in this drama. @Ameera .. your hubby is here~~

  8. @NiteWalker Not sure what happened there with the line..I have a feeling they didn't book any appointment in advance. Or they did but the previous customers took longer or sth? And I saw most of them were men (the ones who lined up). I think it must be because with women...we could easily tie our hairs etc.. but men who are used to short hair... they must be dying to go to the hairdresser LOL. @MayanEcho here they also have maximum capacity (i think one person per 4 square meter ... or meter square?? dunno).
  9. I think I'm still a longgg way before I'll be a disciple~ by then you all are probably a deity or something LOL @abs-oluteM @NiteWalker @mademoiselle Went to a shopping centre today and saw people lining up in front of a barber and another hairdresser Though not so much a snake-y line.. but never in my life I saw people lining up in front of hairdresser shop! Good afternoon nearly evening everyone~
  10. Dr Bong! I never thought of him more than oh he's a funny doctor from the ER. Until.... I might take a peek at the latest special ep~ I want to see the midwife and the GS head nurse hehe
  11. @SilverMoonTea Cute Now I want Bubble Tea too
  12. @TRaNz homeless look (gasp) ... Careful there... that 'homeless look' you're referring to might be the fashion trend many many years back OR many many years into the future HAHAHAHHAHA. Eeekkk... you'd go 23km specially and only for bubble tea???? @NiteWalker I never thought that I'd miss going to hairdresser. Ok.. I don't miss it as in I like going to hairdresser... I miss it because I think it's been at least 10 months since my last hair cut! I have seen at least 3 ppl mentioned Search @abs-oluteM @TRaNz @mademoiselle , I read the plot summary... just sounds so scary and plus it's OCN. Hello @cherrhys88 ! Nice to meet you~
  13. @mirmz Oooohhh..didn't know they use potato flakes as fake snow! I know they 'fake' the rain by purposely spraying water using sprinkler or something..never thought of how they would fake a snow. Now i know. @TRaNz My beloved hairdresser is now so far away T_T but hey I can make it there within the 25km rule i think. I also can't wait to have my hair done but because it's far away, I think it will take a bit of organising to do before I can book in a fixed date or something. So all this time...have you been doing your hair in a man bun or something? Or let it down like I
  14. @mirmz i wouldnt want shoveling snow as part of my morning routine too! But can't help to be amazed at how pretty they look in the movies. And it's not helping too when they show many romantic stuff with snow all around @Tofu hehehehhe.. Now we can travel 25km! That's 5x further than yesterday (5km was the limit until yesterday). Now i can't wait to be able to go regional and go on a mini holiday or something. How's things on your end? Mmm...presidential election is coming up right?
  15. @TRaNz morning (yawnnnn...i wish i could sleep in)... I was so happy to know now I probably can go to the Glen area if i want to (gotta check that on the map whether it's still within the 25km radius). And I'm sooo looking forward to having retails open. I just found out that Target at one of my local shopping malls is closing permanently T_T .. Let's hope the number stays relatively low. Awww...you're so sweet still keeping the little books for me. I wasn't sure so I thought best to let you know I completed the set. Thank youuuu and sorry to cause you any incovenience holding onto them. @mirmz do you like or not like snow? I like snow but not where i live..i wish though we could have snow in some mountains really close by so no need to travel far for snow sports hahahhahaha
  16. waiting for new emojis to be 'installed'~ Finished catching up with the latest ep of Lie of Lie wohooo...and 2 more to go next week and voila I finish another drama (good job!) Thinking of starting Flowers of Evil? Anyone hasn't watched that one and wanted to do it now with me? hehehheh @TRaNz Hellllooo~~ how are you mate? Btw, I completed my little books collection! Actually, I only got a few, and then it turned out, my friends had the rest of the books that I didn't and they weren't collecting Think I'm gonna hit the bed now. Good night everyone
  17. You asked my question too @UnniSara ! I'm perplexed with her strong determination to make ES' life miserable Just why and what's the purpose? So we found out (and what a twist) that Gi Beom isn't her biological son and someone in the earlier posts indicated that she might be the one who killed him (or got someone to kill him). If she hated her son that much, sure I could understand her reason on wanting to pin the blame on ES but atm I fail to understand why the necessary efforts to ensure ES would never be happy in her life. Unless, although Gi Beom isn't her biological son and that he caused all the troubles to her, deep down she still loved him like her own - perhaps just like SM also to some degree love WJ. Shrugs..unsure..but atm..that's my best guess. Please please please...don't let this makjang drama become one of those which ends with someone dears to the viewers dies. Just let JM, ES, WJ, the grandparents and the aunt live happily ever after as a family. 2 more episodes to go~
  18. @SilverMoonTea was that a real ads? Or just a photoshopped pic? Love it! @Jane i have forgotten all about fanfics. I read a few of them after HP finished..
  19. @40somethingahjumma LOL~ I have accepted the fact that most of the Jdramas I like are cheesy and most of the leads have the superhero type of character hahahhaha. Actually I have watched all the dramas you mentioned. Didn't quite like Mad Dog (not sure why). I did watch it from the beginning to the end but didn't leave me with any strong impression. I do though..love Bad Guys (1 and NOT 2...season 2 was just urrrghhh) and 38 Task Force. Between the 2, I think Bad Guys are the closest in terms of feeling about building a great team to achieve something (in a sense like HSL and Iryu) but didn't quite get that from 38. I think the difference is that in 38, the drama only delved into the two males leads stories. Mmm..take for example Iryu 1, they took the time in each episode to explore each character and how each character came about to join the team; while HSL, most of the characters were already inside the team but then we got to see the stories of how they changed to be better. 38... not really. And I think if I'm not mistaken, same with TEN? But can't say for sure because I watched TEN years ago so can't exactly remember the details Now perhaps in the future when you feel like watching another Jdrama having similar theme to Iryu and HSL, please try Rookies (it's another team building drama and its focus is baseball!). In Rookies, the focus is more on how this passionate-but-has-no-idea-about-baseball teacher, once again incites the passion for baseball in the students who're (or once were) part of the baseball club. But... just be ready to have extreme degree of cheesiness
  20. Hello everyone ~ A newcomer on this thread. I just started watching this 3 days ago and now I'm up to ep 9. I skipped ep 1 and 2 and read the reviews on those 2 eps. I started from ep 3 onwards. I skimmed through ep 10-12 recap by @ktcjdrama because I just can't wait to sort of find out what's happening after ep9 hhahaha. So glad you did the recap (thank you!). When I started watching I went...ahhh...so this is what makjang is like sure it has the worst baddies (ehem..that MIL is truly evil with no redemption in sight so far -.- well..at up to ep 9). Ok sure she lost her son ... errrr.... but killing her own granddaugther?????? Who would do that??? and she went on this journey to ensure our FL would never be happy again in her life... and along the way also ruined Mr Yoon's family by threatening him with his son. Oh well...that's why it's called MAKJANG right? Because it's only a drama, so I'm able to accept it..but otherwise, somehow prior to ep 9, FL's actions were also stalkerish and although I was teary watching some of her scenes with her daughter, but I couldn't shake the feelings of creepiness. If this were another drama, she could've been a villain with the kind of behaviours hahahaha. I love YJH and he played his character really well. It feels like he'd be like that in real life. And I also love Lee Yu Ri's voice...very soothing Okie, I'll see you again the next time I'm able to catch up with the last ep~
  21. I'm so glad that I gave this drama a go. For me it's indeed the best drama I watched in 2020! It has my most fav genre, although I can't find a name for it, but a drama where a seemingly underdog team consist of lost individuals at first and with the right leader manage to gather the 'best' people for the jobs/roles and then become the best team. And not only that, a drama where it gives each 'side' character a good amount of storyline so we become invested in each of them. I've seen this type of drama in Jdramas such as Medical Dragon, Rookies and the last one (although not too similar) is Grand Maison Tokyo but never saw one in Kdramaland. Even when I started watching HSL, I didn't start with having the expectation that this would be this type of drama. So I was soooo ecstatic when I found out (while watching) that it's indeed such a drama~ @40somethingahjumma summed the drama up really nicely (sorry to cut your posts) It's true that we became 'invested in the lives of the' other characters as we watched the drama... I think this is because the drama took its time to explore these side characters story and so as viewers we got to know them and couldn't help but to root for them as well. With a few 'baddies' (or so they seemed at the beginning), we also got to follow their journeys to the point of their characters' 'redemption' and how good that feels when someone you thought was bad turned to be good and became a faithful supporter of the team~ so it's indeed a feel-good drama! Don't read the spoiler if you haven't seen the drama @Jane If you're interested, you can read the review :) But maybe that will just increase your expectation before watching it hahahahah
