Counting down the hours until we get new episodes!! Thank you @Tofu for the gifs! I love them all! I love how sneaky LingYi can be when he wants more time with Shiyi or when he wants to be close to her. She's the only woman who doesn't throw herself at him. That scene where she falls asleep and he slowly leans her toward him before he picks her up is so sweet, gentlemanly and well... shows experience.. ahem ahem... I also love that scene where she's tells him he's well-built and will look good in anything he wears and he immediately looks at himself in the mirror, feeling good about getting a rare compliment from Shiyi.. LOL

@Warm Paws I actually thought that maybe Prof. Daniel lied to HSJ's wife and told her that the child tested positive with the gene in the hopes that she would terminate the pregnancy which would be a blow to Han Seo Joon since it was his whole purpose for getting married. I thought that perhaps Prof. Daniel would use that as his revenge since HSJ killed his sister. But then again, he is unable to abort the child himself and she is already past the stage for abortion so I don't think he lied to her since I can't figure out what he would gain from doing so.

I agree! The child is the creepiest actually!! Yes!!! I actually thought about this too during the assembly meeting. Because why would they make it a point to include that scene in ep 1? Also, the line that woman says... something along the lines of “remember you were the one who deprived your child of that world”... or something like that. It felt important somehow. Like he is going to regret it someday. But I didn’t connect that it might be the assembly man in the car at the end. But I also think there are 3 babies carrying the gene.

@NiteWalker you don’t have to back read because there’s only been 2 episodes and we know zero. At this point we’ve just been discussing theories with zero concrete answers. Haha! @Darkarcana I have to admire your detective effort in exploring every possible lead. Where did you even find this?? Hahaha!

@mademoiselle I also hope Mouse does a good job of exploring these topics bec otherwise it’s just a murder mystery. I also interpreted Ba Reum’s line to mean that he expected a serial killer to look different and was surprised that he looked “normal”. To be honest, even I was surprised to find out who the head hunter was and the fact that Prof Daniel didn’t see it either tells you something. And he’s the lead researcher of the gene study on psychopaths!

I agree, I think it’s less about percentages. I think it’s exploring the following: - Nature vs. Nurture. Do our genes dictate the type of people we become or does our environment and upbringing. Are all with the gene predispositioned? Likewise do those that don’t have the gene mean they’ll never become one? - Choice - despite the gene and upbringing, can they choose the type of person they become - the effect of trauma - clearly there are victims and families of victims who have been affected. How does trauma change one’s behaviour and mental disposition - the line between Genius and Crazy - where is the tipping point?

@Warm Paws I like the way you summarized the percentages because that is how I understood it too. What doesn’t make sense to me though is if Prof. Daniel is saying that only the top 1% of those with the psychopath gene ends up being serial killers, then that’s a very very low case for approval. Basically saying that the accuracy of the gene diagnosis is only 99% and only 1% of that ends up being serial killers. So how do you isolate the top 1% then? That’s the part that throws me off about his study.

@SnT I agree with your hubby, men can definitely be aggressive when they feel threatened or when someone is encroaching on their “territory”. Especially at a time when society was very very conservative where a single touch meant a lot.

I was re-watching that clip of LingYi holding the sword and Shiyi holding the scissors toward her neck and it occurred to me that maybe LingYi gave her the divorce letter thinking that Shiyi had feelings for Lin Shi Xian since she was willing to harm herself for his sake... Ugh I just really need the new episodes so we can finally find the answers!

I think casting Wallace to play LingYi was a perfect choice because the character is a mature and seasoned man, a leader. In the scene where the two men walk past each other - you can clearly see the difference in the way they carry themselves. And Shiyi, despite her age, is very smart. I also thought that Amber was going to stay loyal to Shiyi.. I started to get doubtful in the scene where she overhears Shiyi and her maid talking about the fabric in the warehouse.. her facial expression there changed and it seemed suspicious to me. I wonder if Amber had something to do with Shiyi's mother's death.. @MorningDewthat new MV is just sooo sweet! I was sighing the entire time.

Regarding the watch.. I am thinking that if it's not Ba Reum, it has to be someone who has access to the prison but also is able to go out. I don't think it's one of the prisoners but rather someone around them. Also, the first murder victim.. the one in the gym.. was done out of anger.. but why? What was the relationship between the gym guy and the killer?

@mademoiselle oh maybe I misunderstood because I thought the news was that of him being captured. I thought he was being incarcerated due to him having raped women? I really need to rewatch!

Thank you @SnT for your explanation on the divorce types. So maybe LingYi gave it to Shiyi to give her a choice and if so, it would’ve been done out of love and not hate. @AwkwarDerp I actually wondered too if LingYi loved Yuanniang. While I think he did, I don’t think it was the same or as deep as he does Shiyi. I do think he had affection for her but I don’t think he was in love with her. He clearly cared for her and appreciated her role as his wife. Enough for him to grant her last wish. But I don’t think he missed or craved her company. It’s more of respect I think.

@mademoiselle so glad your joining us here!! I wonder though if the ahjussi that was arrested that seemed to trigger Bong Yi is actually the perpetrator in her case or if he simply reminds her of someone else. Either way, there is definitely trauma there and in what way that plays out in the story is yet to be seen. It doesn’t actually reveal which sibling (if any) survived Jae Hoon when he killed the family. It showed 3 bodies so I assume there is a survivor but it’s unclear if it’s the sister or the brother. If one of them indeed survived, I suspect the adult self will make an appearance at some point (if not already). Like you, I also believe that the environment is what fosters the psychopath gene and not necessarily the gene itself. I think that’s the main question this drama is trying to address - do our genes dictate the type of people we become? And I also want to know if the mothers revealed to both boys that they carried the gene. In the voiceover we hear, one of them clearly knows about it but it’s not clear whether the other does. And whether knowing vs. not knowing has an impact. We know that the mind is very powerful thing and how we see ourselves impact our behaviour and actions.

I still think there’s a possibility that Shiyi goes to wherever LingYi is bec there’s a clip in one of the previews that looked like LingYi fighting off bad guys while shielding Shiyi... I just hope the “divorce” and time apart is short and then back to intense love again. I forgot to add that in the clip where it looks like he leaves after leaving her the divorce letter, he has the shoes in the carriage with him. So that tells me he still loves her very much.

@Darkarcana interesting... I think you might be right in that the first encounter between the detective (forgot his name) and BR might not be accidental.

I actually suspect he divorces her bec he thinks she betrayed him but then she ends up sacrificing herself for him which makes him realize she really loves him.

@Mizv I actually don’t understand divorce at that time and I’m not sure how it worked. If he gave her a letter, does that mean they’re divorced or does she have to agree to it too? I wonder if he thinks that Shiyi is colluding with the Ou family on the corruption which is why he thinks she may have betrayed him and therefore prompted him to divorce her. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. I am curious too as to how she ends up in prison. I suspect she gets tangled in between the Ou and Xu families and ends up taking the fall.

By the way, we also have yet to figure out what role the female journalist plays in all of this if she’s part of the regular cast... and mind you there’s no indication the serial killer is male! dun dun dun...

@abs-oluteM we are waiting for new episodes so we don’t know what the series of events will be. We just know that he somehow ends up giving her a divorce letter but we don’t know the circumstances surrounding it. From the previews, it looks like we might be close to seeing Shiyi finally develop feelings for LingYi... perhaps at the Lantern Festival... or maybe before.. @Mizv welcome!! I forgot to add that I think the divorce will come later bec she has to develop feelings for him first to be so heartbroken about it. It does look in one of the clips of the supposed ending like they’re getting married again but then does that mean they actually get divorced? I just want them to release 10 episodes a day!!
