  1. @SnTI also noticed the different hairstyles. My favourite is the one where she has a side part. She looks more mature but I do think it signifies her growth and more likely - the changes she undergoes. I think her first hairstyle is to signify her youth and innocence. The second hairstyle is to signify her new status as a married woman and I suspect the third hairstyle signifies her love and acceptance of LingYi. I am curious about the circumstances of the divorce letter. Perhaps @NiteWalker is right in that he might be doing it to protect her. But it could also be from a misunderstanding. We’ll just have to wait and see. It looks like Shiyi is going to end up in prison somehow and I wonder what leads up to it. The 2nd ML also seems to change his hairstyle later. Maybe it’s to signify a change in him as well.
  2. @SnThaha! I’m also rummaging through IG and YT trying to look for more clips!! I’m also addicted! It’s annoying that we have to wait until Monday for more episodes. Too long of a wait!!!
  3. Please don't let LSG be the psychopath! I can't wait to see the next episode! The little boy might actually be a different character altogether. It could be that both detectives carried the gene as children (one as Han's son and the other as that other mother) but neither of them are that mysterious child. I am curious to see how Prof Daniel is going to play a part in all of it too. Remember when they were discussing the psychopath gene? They said that the psychopath gene and genius gene are so alike that it would be difficult to differentiate between the two.. I wonder how that's going to weave into all of this (if it has a meaning at all). I love that ep 1 also raises the question - do we, as a society, have the right to terminate life based on probability? The study was only 99% accurate and even at that, how does one differentiate between psychopath and genius? Also, do our genes dictate behaviour or do we have a choice? I am curious to find out too if the unborn children were made aware of their predisposition by their mothers. And whether having that knowledge impacted their eventual behaviour or whether their environment either suppressed or highlighted it. Arrrggh! Only 1 episode and my wheels are turning!
  4. I'm sorry if this has already been shared before but I came across this on YT and I'm dying over the scenes of the two of them together! It only gets better!
  5. @SnT I watched that video at least 5x! It's obvious they develop real and deep feelings for each other but it's so sad that he ends up giving her a divorce letter. BUT THE KISS!!!!!
  6. Woah! This thread sure moves fast! I enjoyed reading all of your comments. Both Shiyi and LingYi are smart and prudent. I think Shiyi didn't think twice about teaching embroidery because (a) she has a close relationship with her teacher and likely feels indebted to her and (b) it was her idea after all to have the women learn embroidery and likely felt that she was supporting LingYi's initiative in her own way. I also think that when she entered the marriage, she knew full well that it was only to take care of Zhun and only because Yangnian had asked LingYi. This, to me, means she doesn't really consider herself LingYi's wife but more like a "fill-in". This is why it doesn't really bother her when the concubines try to take privileges from her. To her, it's all about getting things done since she is there for a purpose. I think this might also be contributing to why she doesn't see LingYi as a "husband" in a romantic way. What I liked about LingYi gifting Shiyi the fan, accepting her shoes and buying back her land deeds plus more land - is that it actually showed a thoughtfulness on his part and an effort to go above and beyond. We can see that LingYi is fair and honourable and we see this in the way he deals with all the women. However, he is careful to draw a line. He only does the bare minimum according to what he thinks is appropriate. He doesn't go above and beyond. But we see a difference with Shiyi. He could've bought her a gift to show his appreciation but instead he MADE her a gift. He was EAGER to wear the shoes she gifted him. He WENT THE EXTRA MILE in not only buying back her land deeds but also TOOK THE TIME to assess her assets and purchased adjacent land so that she would have an advantage. Another thing I really liked was when he stayed for lunch at Shiyi's and he ended up trying the food she liked. With all the other women, they would always serve him what he liked. But with Shiyi, he was willing to adapt to her and understand her preferences. I like that he is trying to get to know her - why she likes the dishes she likes, what kind of tea she prefers over flowered teas.. He once thought of her as young and with the same goals and mindset as YangNian and now he's starting to realize that she is different. I think too that because Shiyi doesn't look at LingYi as a ticket/advantage, she is able to actually look at him as a person and understand him. I love love loved that scene where they're on the pavilion and she says to him "you're worried about something that bothers you but feel powerless to do anything about it.." you can see he's surprised that she was able to glean that. And yet she didn't pry nor offer any advice. She simply made an observation. The other women would have tickled his ears, or thought of how they might benefit from the situation. She didn't.
  7. Just watched episode 1 and I have to say it’s good so far. I honestly didn’t see it coming - I was surprised to find out who the head hunter was! This drama is not really a genre I typically watch so I’m not used to it. I have to admit I squirmed in my chair a few times. I actually debated in the middle of the episode if I should continue or stop watching because it was so disturbing for me. Lol But I think it’s well done and I am curious to see how the rest of it pans out. I haven’t seen subbed version of the trailer for ep 2 so I have no idea what they’re saying. Lol I guess I’ll just have to wait to watch the episode.
  8. Seriously enjoying this drama so much. I started watching it 2 days ago and already caught up until ep 18. I think that the reason why LingYi is cold towards the women is because he knows that they all have ulterior motives. Shiyi on the other hand is sincere, humble, genuine, smart and kind. And she is the only one who does things out of kindness without expecting anything in return. LingYi, too, despite his status is actually modest. I think both Shiyi and LingYi read people well. And because of LingYi’s past, he also knows what it’s like to have nothing and to work hard to become someone. I think that LingYi’s brother was sheltered and spoiled by the mother. He isn’t a bad guy but he’s never had to fight for anything or take responsibility because his mother always made choices for him. I find the mother and Lingnian to be annoying. Mostly Lingnian and I can’t wait for LingYi’s mother to have her eyes opened. I think that in the end she will see Shiyi is good. I love the interactions between LingYi and Shiyi and cannot wait for Shiyi to develop feelings for LingYi. We can see that LingYi already has feelings for her but we don’t see any indication from Shiyi yet. I do hope they have a “passionate” relationship. Lol
  9. Yes! Exactly! They dealt with everything in a very mature way. There weren't any unnecessary, idiotic sacrifices.
  10. Thanks @abs-oluteM and @Tofu I'm going to check it out then. It looks like the leads have good chemistry and I'm interested in seeing how they depict a strong female character.
  11. Hello everyone! Life has been busy so I haven't had a chance to drop by here much. How are ya'll doing?? @Alice WonderlandI'm glad to hear you are enjoying Forever Love! I think they have great chemistry and although the story was simple, I liked that there weren't any unnecessary storylines.
  12. This is sad... apparently I don't know my oppas! I know some faces but can't recall their names either!
  13. Joining the bandwagon here... I started watching mid last week and was hooked after ep 1. Kicking myself for having waited this long to watch it! I am enjoying this drama so much more than I thought I would. I love all the characters and man, it's so funny! I laughed so hard at almost every episode. The following scenes had me laughing so hard that my kids actually looked at me funny: Seo Joon dancing in his underwear (the "Okey Dokey" scene) - the look on his face when he turns around and realizes Joo Kyung is in his living room and the mortification that follows. And can I just say how adorable Joo Kyung looks when she does the "roar"?! The baseball scene where Seo Joon and Su Ho cheer so hard for the baseball player (can't remember his name) as soon as they hear that he has to go overseas if he performs well. All the scenes between JG's sister and her teacher The scene where they think JG is a ghost in the forest I like how Sun Ho is different from everyone in that when he first met JG, she was at her lowest point - no makeup and standing on the ledge of a building. I thought the drama did a good job of portraying how Sun Ho fell in love with JG just as she is - no makeup and in all her quirkiness because all the times they spent together that led up to him falling for her where times when she had no makeup on, she's not even dressed up and mostly talking about their shared love for horror comics. I also appreciate the contrast between Sun Ho and Seo Joon in that Sun Ho knew her and fell in love with her when she had no makeup on while Seo Joon knew and fell in love with her without knowing her true appearance. One might say that Seo Joon only liked her bec she looked pretty but I think this drama is doing a good job in showing that he still likes her despite finding out what she really looks like. So you could say that both Sun Ho and Seo Joon really like her for who she is.
  14. I die over SG' awkwardness/cuteness.. I am so impressed with Siwan's acting in this one. IMO, he plays SG's innocence/awkwardness/straight-forwardness so perfectly. I love the tiny expressions he makes, how his eyes move and turn into big circles like he is completely oblivious to what is actually happening and his body language... in MJ's own words, "why is he so adorable?" And the way he smiles! With the innocence and pure joy of a little boy. No wonder MJ is so protective. Really loved that they finally held hands in ep 11. With SG's awkwardness, I wondered how they'd get to hand-holding in a way that you can tell there's a little shyness but also feels so natural. I think they achieved it with this one. My favourite scene is that of them watching a movie together. Even though SG doesn't particularly enjoy movies, he's always willing to watch a movie with her because he understands it's important to her. And I love that during this scene, they were comfortable with each other - from expressing their thoughts to actually physically touching. It felt like in this scene, they were truly a couple. I don't know how to feel about ep 12... I am proud of SG for standing up for his sister and working so hard to support Wooshik. However, when it comes to MJ, I have mixed feelings. On the one hand I think it's good that she is one of those people who refuse to deal with those who make her question her worth (as with the case with SG's dad). But then again, I feel like she could've dealt with the situation better instead of breaking it off with him. I love that SG was clever enough to figure out his dad had talked to her and I loved his persistence in talking to her. I wonder if MJ chose to break up with SG because she didn't feel like he could protect her? She's always seen him as someone she needed to protect so maybe she didn't feel like he could be that for her? I don't know.
  15. I want to sleep..zzz...zzz..

    1. Tofu

      Tofu

I agreed, sleep is good for you! I hope you get more of it soon!

  16. @stroppyseJust like @abs-oluteM I, too, pick the main couple. Don’t get me wrong, I also love DA and YH but I am more interested in seeing how SG and MJ overcome their very different communication styles. I love the dialogue between them and that while others perceive SG’s quirks as either annoying or “boring”, it’s those same quirks that endear him to MJ. I personally find SG adorable. I just want to eat him. I really hope DA and YH end up together. I think YH is exactly what DA needs. @ktcjdrama I also suspect that YH might be low key chaebol. He may not be as rich as DA but I don’t think he’s needy either. So far the drama hasn’t told us much about his parents in terms of the bee farm. He could be someone who has the means but chooses to live a fairly simple life pursuing what he wants to do. Another reason I feel like he might not be poor is because he’s still in school after all this time. He seems to be concerned about money but more of the “pay my bills on time” sort rather than “I need to graduate and get a job soon” type, if you know what I mean.
  17. Gosh, I started watching this a couple of days ago and I’m already on ep 9. I can’t believe I waited this long to watch it. This is such a good one and I totally love all the characters and their quirks. I have yet to back-read everyone’s posts but I am totally loving this one. SG is such a refreshing character - straightforward yet kind, innocent yet smart. And Seo Dan Ah... she’s a character I didn’t know whether to like to hate in the beginning but now love her. It’s quite late and need to go to bed soon but I’ll be back to post once I’ve had a chance to read everyone’s posts and articulate all the thoughts and emotions I’m feeling. Lol
  18. @SilverMoonTea @NiteWalker is this good? It looks like something I would like....
  19. @abs-oluteMok sold! Will definitely be checking it out. Haha so true! I’m definitely someone who loves to promote what I love and I also like discovering what others are watching and liking. I don’t know if that’s a good resolution! I love that you check out dramas recommended to you and you keep an open mind. I say, “continue watching!”
  20. @staygold @ktcjdrama I’m so happy you guys decided to check it out! I’m obsessed with it. @NiteWalker I might start the thread if no one else has. @abs-oluteM I might join you on Run On. I saw it on NF and was planning on checking it out and now that you said it’s pretty good so far, I want to check it out
  21. @NiteWalker it doesn’t look like there’s one, unless I missed it?
  22. @NiteWalker @themarchioness Professional Single was definitely cute and lighthearted and I liked the fact that there weren’t any ridiculous martyrdom involved. But Forever Love just tugs me more. There’s just a bit more depth to the characters and I like that it follows there story from high school to adulthood.
