    Just started this today. It’s good! Ep.1 was fast paced and laid out the characters well. I love the action sequences and LDW looking good in here. Love his hairstyle. Glad to see N here. Is he just cameo or main role? I haven’t checked. Some scenes are indeed crazy, but some are predictable too 😅 maybe I’ve watched way too much dramas already.

    O I'm glad the subs came out faster this week. Been meaning to write recaps again but RL keeps calling me away, sigh.... I really like it so far. There's mystery, which I love. I like that it is actually very much about the humans... Here's my wild speculation I know you're busy, but I think you might enjoy Uncle. Only me and liddi are watching here, LOL....

    So I take it that ep.4 has subs already @abs-oluteM I quite like ep.4, with the title "Hand" Below in spoiler is the subs for ep.5 first few minutes. I thought of trying to translate the dialogues instead of describing the scenes, because it seems that when I'm describing, I tend to be too detailed that it took me very long. And some of the conversations really are needed to understand details better... but... it turned out that writing down the dialogue took a while too because I have to keep pausing and typing between different windows, lol...     Beautiful MV of OST 7 - Tree on The Hill I read some viewers aren’t happy that CW suggested to YS to be just friends after kissing her. The way I see it, he concluded that was the best way because instead of responding after the kiss, YS chose to run away. What can CW think about that except that she was not happy being kissed? So no, I don’t blame CW for wanting to just be friends because of his fear for abandonment. Both are sending mixed signals, not just Woong.

    I love ep.10... I didn't think there was no progress. In fact, for me there is a big progress in that YS finally acknowledging her true feelings. I am so glad she could finally let it out to her grandma, instead of keep pretending it doesn't matter. That part was shot really beautifully and very powerful, I thought. YS off the running tap, and a unique angle at the drop of water from the tap, all quiet, and then the clear and crisp OST/BGM started. The water drop feels like her tears, and I started welling up as well. I cried as she opened up to her grandmother and asked grandma to scold her instead. What can a grandmother do except to hug her crying granddaughter.... The second time I cried was when JW was telling YS about how his mother does not know/care/remember that he is allergic to peaches, even though having witnessed him at death door once because of that. I'd really like to know what's the backstory with his mother. Is she working somewhere? It seems like she is back this time knowing that it's his birthday soon and wanting to spend it with him? What is it that made their relationship so sour and tensed? I hope they will show it and it'd better be a good one. That JW has just been misunderstanding her and she has a valid reason for staying away... Maybe it will be like the mother-son relationship in C-drama Go Ahead. Although here, with the cut peaches I should probably not hope for much? Soulmate... Woong and Ji Woong for sure. Haha.... Love their bromance, then and now. Ji Woong once again held back from asking "the" question to Woong after he saw YS and CW together being "friends". Just like when he deleted her phone number when YS and CW broke up. However, this might not do him any good. Maybe he should just express it once and see what it will bring about for his relationship with YS. Otherwise, it's going to always be a "what-if"... Preview... hm, I'm really not looking forward to NJ lying to YS that she and Woong are seeing each other. She's been cool so far and I don't want her to become a clingy FSL please. Forgot to say thanks to grandma who let out the "secret" that YS was crying a lot when the two broke up. That's definitely news for CW and I'm sure he noted it well. Probably the reason he stayed on for dinner, despite being polite, is hoping that grandma spill some more, haha... Yeah, sometimes we do need outspoken people like grandma in our lives. In ep.9, YS also kinda get a hint of how CW is feeling because she opened and saw that folder of his drawing when he was at his lowest....

    Yes the story telling is very unique and the journey discovering each character has been enjoyable. The BGM also always so soothing accompanying the mulling by our characters. Can you believe I actually watch this on normal speed? I should go count how many times YS said the words chingu 😆 That is so her... but my favorite scene has to be CW finding his mother and just so naturally go to her and lay his head on her lap, and the conversation that followed. I do agree that I too wonder whether they have enough material for 16 episodes if it’s just a matter of the OTP denying and covering up their feelings for each other. There are no other significant subplots. Maybe this is the kind of story that will benefit for being a 12-episode drama.

    Child actor Jo Yi Hyun as Kim Myung Soo was great in this drama. I am happy he got the award. Well deserving. He's already had 19 dramas in total and turned out that I've watched 5 of them besides YoM, but mostly guest role or support role. I'll be looking forward to his future roles for sure.

    Little Seo Woo Jin is such a cutie.... He looks so little as a 6 yo, but he is already giving his speech like a 16 yo. Very pro... and he already has 20 dramas under his belt!!

    Is this a new OST? @mademoiselle Don't remember hearing it before. Very nice Her voice suits the song so well too... My only complain is why do they need to include the still of San and Hwabin in the clip

    OST#7 - Butterfly (I love the idea of having the kids take part in writing the lyrics) @liddi Seems like there are only the two of us watching here... LOL... What do you think is the real identity of Joo Kyung Il (No-Eul's father)? I think that's what most viewers are curious about. Is he really an insurance scammer who killed off wives? I think he's just made to seem shady but he really is not? I can't imagine what will happen to No-Eul if the story decides to go dark on his character... I think his job is probably a rather confidential one, involving the police and prosecutors. That's why he'd rather not say properly and just disguised it as webtoon artist. The way he was able to draw the composite sketch so well... Urgh, that Park Hye Ryung is just such an atrocious person, and a terrible mother too! I can't believe she actually wanted to let her daughter die. Really, if the nurse didn't knock the door in time, she would've sent her daughter to death already.

    @stroppyse If it makes you feel a bit better, the cliffhanger last night was YG telling SR that he wants to call off the engagement. I don't know how long this decision will last though Se Chan told YG that if SR becomes his mother, please just send him overseas to study, because he finds her scary and don't want to be living with her. So YG found out about the basement storage thing. Then he witnessed SR slapping DD as well.

    It's really perfectly fine to stop at ep.16. Really... This was me too. I woke up this morning and immediately look for ep.17, and literally washed my face with tears. I had to pause a couple of times to go wash off the tears on my face. Same here. I was rather upset when on her dying bed, she told him to not acknowledge her if he ever see her in the next life. I thought how mean that is... poor San, especially when he asked do you not ever love me even just a little bit? I'm glad that she told him that staying by his side was a choice she made. But still rather mean for saying out loud that she prefers not to be with him in the next life, but live her life as she wants. It's like telling him, "okay, this lifetime is it, I'm not going to give you more than this, it's not forever and ever for us, it's not going to always be you and me". But again, the beautiful ending saved it. I was able to forget that mean thing she said.

    Basically, the evil witches got to know that he has no memory of his 3 months amnesia, so in order not to be blamed for the engagement, SR told YG that they fell very much in love during his amnesia and that's why they went for an engagement. She is heartbroken that he has forgotten those sweet times together. Stupid YG (I don't think I've ever met a more stupider ML) somehow believed her and felt bad. Although he asked SR to take up a status quo for the time being, ie.boss and employee relationship, until he wrapped his head around the matter, she went to spill their engagement to the press. It's a good thing DD decided to take charge after YG's drunken confession. She pursued him again, and YG was about to follow his heart, as advised by the wise (but should've been more active) Lawyer Koo, but because of Anna Kim's personal selfish desire, he changed his mind again and asked DD to just go to the US with Anna. Supposedly noble idiocy because that's a better future for DD. I am now just watching very casually, skipping to scenes I want to watch only because I admit I'm already rather invested with what's going to happen to the kids. SR is not fit to be a mother, seriously. The way she punished the boys is by locking them in the storage basement, switching off the lights, after threatening them that they will be haunted by ghosts and goblins will take them away to the dungeons of hell. Also not to forget saying to Se Chan that if she were to report to the police what he's done, they will come and arrest him. I don't know how the writer is going to redeem her believably... The only great scene from last night was DD fighting back and pushing SR to the ground after twisting free from her hair grab.

    Finished with subs.... ep.17 is tear fest for sure. Prepare your tissues. I never expected that they will tell the story until San's death. The last part of flashback was really a nice touch. I thought I wouldn't shed any more tears as they were wrapping up the story, but the moment the last line was delivered by San and Deok Im, the floodgates opened again. And I had tried to numb myself before starting to watch ep.17, mind you.... Give me time to collect myself before commenting more. But I do want to say it now, that this drama really tells the love story of San and Deok Im so very beautifully. I have deep respect and high appreciation for the production team, especially the writer and PD. I would give a standing ovation and multiple rounds of applause. Big love to the whole cast and production team.

    Good thing I kept my expectations low.... hahahaaa... but it was still a very intense kiss, I thought. It was a fully clothed bed scene. Not even a peek of skin....

    Yeah... I've decided to hold off watching ep.17... I want to wait for subs, and I think my heart can only take this much tonight... I feel that it's really sad that Deok Im could never enjoyed fully the love from San, but always thinking about how he could never be hers fully when he is so devoted to her. I know she has the rights to feel that way, but it's just sad that she kept her expectations high and not willing to lower them given the status that cannot be changed. At one point she asked San whether he's thought about what life will be like if they were just commoners, not a king, not a court lady. I can't help but thinking that being a commoner might not be a guaranteed happiness too? Call me practical and opportunist, but I mean, during those times, it's better to be the one in highest power, moreover under such person with integrity. If you're a commoner but you have evil king, your happy quiet life could be wrecked at anytime by those holding power.

    We're starting to be presented with potential unpleasant situation that DI is placed in now. QD told San that he's put DI in a dangerous position, because DI has no intention to be a hoogoong, then CL Seo and San's guard have a talk also. Even though San's guard is very happy because he thinks DI is a good person and she won't meet a good king like San, CL Seo reminded him, a good king does not mean a good husband. She is looking all worried actually.... They spent a lot of time together, and DI got pregnant. San is very happy to hear the news and rushed out, but suddenly he stopped, remembered something, so he turned another direction. Okay, I think I can't continue watching anymore. I want to wait for subs. DI's friends are just precious... Kyung Hee (the outspoken one) got into a fight because the others are talking bad about DI, it seems. That the King has not summoned for DI again, something like that. DI said it doesn't matter, she is just happy knowing she stood up for her. Evening, DI returned to the place where CL Seo is waiting so impatiently, asking where has she been? the King's been waiting for her for so long. She was fussing like a mother about her dirty hanbok when San walked out, and immediately switched to formal talking to DI.... CL Seo left and our couple hugged and kissed by the front yard. Hmm, it's kind sad I feel, because once a while we get to hear DI's worried thought being together, while San is genuinely happy they're together.

    In the morning, the seniors (guards and CLs) who are standing watch outside got a bit impatient because none of them are out yet. Inside, the two continued their kissing when they woke up. Back at the CL quarters, DI's friends looking for her, worried that she was not back last night. Some CLs whispering at the distance, one of them went to find out and told the other two that DI has "received the grace of King" ~ that's how they term it, lol.... Cut to the 3 of them in front of nicely dressed DI, asking whether they need to call her mama now, the more outspoken one said no she doesn't want to do that. The one crushing on Deok Ro asked DI if this is a good thing, when DI didn't answer, she worriedly asked so this is a bad thing?
