  1. That rating promise was 15% right? And we haven’t reached it? Sorry I am not too updated with the news. Don’t tell me I make another blunder with the numbers 🤣 I probably need to drop everything and go catch some naps first then.
  2. Ooops!! That’s the second time I made a blunder of the dates and days this weekend. First was when some friends asked to gather on 3rd and I had said it’s not possible because it’s a Sunday 😆 Okay, so we still have hope for a higher ratings. We need a >15%!!! Meanwhile, let’s vote for our couple. You will need an MBC account. I need to go dig for my username and password. https://www.imbc.com/broad/tv/ent/template/2021mbc/drama/bestcouple/?s=09
  3. I can never understand MBC and their antics... Ep.16 is going to be aired at 9:50-11:30 pm and then followed by ep.17 at 11:30 pm to 12:50 am!! How many people will stay up to watch?? It’s a Sunday night, probably a lot of people will have to go to work on Monday morning even thought it’s the new year. What is MBC trying to prove?? I have to admit this is like one of the best dramas for them, so why aren’t they being kind to the drama? Like purposely shooting themselves in their foot?
  4. But I crossed out your name already. Need to go hunting for new names in spoilers. I woke up before 8am on 26th. Coffee drinker. You can check my drama watching on the reflection thread to see if we completed or dropped the same drama or not 😂
  5. Apparently he didn’t during this one... Such a foul character, even though she was trembling (on pretense most probably) when he yelled at her, the moment he left, she was ready to slap Deok Im.
  6. It seems like he didn't get to know who the person is, since he's never seen her before. Maybe he was only choosing based on the family lineage
  7. LOL... you don't happen to be wearing red, thus red sleeve? Yeah, I just finished ep.15 and it's not too bad. The usual watery eyes... I think it's a combination of all those, and the trigger was probably because San expressed his heartfelt gratitude to her. Urgh, that HwaBin. The moment she appeared I already dislike her. The way she talks gives away that she has no good personality. Why they choose this kind of person as the concubine? Shouldn't they select properly for a potential mother-of-an-heir?? Yes, I also teared up here. At first I was upset that she brought Deok Im under HwaBin, what torture! But it turned out that she wants to give San and Deok Im a chance to be together. And it's very true, that no one will think about San's happiness because for them, he is the King and that's it. But as a mother, she wants him to be truly happy. I am so happy to see San smiling in the preview for next episode. But seems like someone will die. Wonder who? His mother? Their child? There's the information that it was a year later. With 3 years of San ascending the throne, and some moments when he was still the CP, I'd say he's kept his affection for her unchanging for around 5 years long? Me too!! I want to give him hugs since episodes ago!... I was so thrilled when Deok Im pulled gently on his red sleeve! Love Namgoong Min, but I hope Junho gets the Daesang this year. He's truly delivered remarkable acting for his role here. It's not going to be easy for a role like this to come again for him.
  8. Just finished ep.14... San is such a good leader, that I want to read up more about this real historical figure. Can't believe he actually spared the life of Deok Ro... I really can't blame San for holding off to arresting Deok Ro, even though he knew the court ladies are in danger. As a leader, he needs to think and act more strategically, considering the overall impact. Although I can understand how Deok Im wanted to save her friends as quickly as possible, I have to say I'm with San on this. Going to watch ep.15 soon. Had a change of plan for the day, so I could watch the episodes earlier after all. I read in the Chinese comments that better prepare tissues to watch this episode as the ending will leave you crying... Even in ep.14, I teared up a bit a few times.
  9. The original novel. I showed it off at the thread, you can go see
  10. Watching ep.14 with subs now, and my heart aches and teared for both San and Deok Im during their conversation by the pond. The first 15 minutes was intense. The things San talked about as they were seated in front of his room, and then their talk by the pond. We can see that these stuff are getting heavier for each of them. San with his 無奈 (sorry, I can't think of the English word, "helplessness" maybe?) about Deok Im, and Deok Im insisting on her choice of "freedom" or "life of happiness". She is clearly unhappy even when rejecting him. It was also another intense and deep conversation for me as San was talking to CL Seo about the predicament he is in.
  11. Precisely why I have special admiration for this man. Given his position and power at that time, it's so easy for him to "have" Deok Im. Honestly, I try not to think of it as history but just keep looking at it as a work of fiction, no matter how close/true they want to stay to real history. I am already so invested in it and thinking that it actually happened to a real person way back then, made me so sad... Right?!! He grows handsomer each time and I had forgotten all other actors who ever played King. The way he restrained his emotions yet delivered his lines so full of emotions He really deserves an award for his role here. Me too!! Even when they were having the bet of stone-throwing. Indirectly Deok Im was rejecting him as well. Notice his disappointment at her determination to win... yet he put her desire above his desire by ditching the last stone like that. Where can we find a man like that? Although it didn't surprise me, it still made me so uncomfortable too... and yes, I am glad to find out he didn't go to her too. But actually, I thought 3 years had passed since the dying of San's grandpa? Did I read the subs incorrectly? I had expected the girl to be older. Yet he blamed and tortured the court ladies *rolleyes*.... urgh, I want to go into the screen and smack his head. I already have ep.15 subbed in Chinese. But I don't have time to watch yet today... Maybe later in the day. Btw, when is ep.16 going to air? It's probably going to be a bawling session, but is it going to be on NY's eve? where we're in the middle of festivity and celebrating mood? And is it true that we'll have an ep.17 as our final episode?
  12. Argh!! It seems like the show is determined to chase viewers away with their writing. I have not watched with subs but I think I understand correctly that YG is going to honor the engagement even though he has his memory all back?? Well, he has no memory of his 22 yo self in his 41 yo body. But after confronting Sara he is asking forgiveness from DD instead and DD is leaving the family?? The only reason I will continue watching is because I want to support the boys in their mission. But seriously, if YG is not played by handsome JHW, I might have said adios to YG already. I am growing tired of crying DD.
  13. Really really have to prepare our hearts for the ending. I read that one of the last sites they went for shooting was the grave of Yi Bin (Deok Im’s title after becoming concubine). I think Junho’s acting of mourning her will definitely get to me
  14. I guess you’re right that there could never be that assurance for her. I definitely am glad I wasn’t born in that era! But see, even for a king, San is beyond gentleman. He could easily make Deok Im be his concubine, or sleep with her without having to take any responsibility, yet he didn’t, but instead he patiently waits and waits and waits. My heart hurts watching them torturing themselves. I feel so frustrated for them! Their scenes are mostly so very poignant and the BGM also always so on point in building the feels.
  15. I’ve only watched bits of ep.15 and then couldn’t load anymore. But reading your recaps above @abs-oluteM I really don’t know how Deok Im was able to hold her feelings in and be the one to prepare for the happang of the man she loves. She is one strong woman. I really can’t blame San for being mad at her for doing so. It must’ve hurt his heart as well to know what Deok Im’s heart and mind had to go through preparing for his happang... He is that kind of a man which made us fall in love with him too. As the king, San has no choice but to do so as it is part of his duties to produce an heir. Is it wrong to say if only Deok Im is willing to produce an heir for him, then he doesn’t have to sleep with other women anymore?
  16. After Scarlet Heart Ryeo, I think I can handle “extreme sadness and heartbreaking feeling”.... but you’re all welcome to watch me eat my words
  17. Deok Im must be the woman with strongest resolve ever.... For me, ep.13 is so full of tension in terms of the loveline. On one hand I can understand the reason why she doesn’t want to be the hoogong, but on the other hand, I cannot understand how she can say no to this person of power, the king, a gentleman, yet still stay by his side... That takes a lot of resolve. I feel so sad watching the last scene of ep.13.
  18. Where is your post for clue? @SnowBlob It's not showing for me. If it's not because it was quoted by SMtea and Chocolate, I would've missed it... The first clue is for me to cross out
  19. And, I am all caught up... How do you guys stand waiting for 1 week for 1 episode?? And now there will be no episode this week?? Arghhh I should've waited for all episodes to air before starting....
  20. Yaaay, I'm here to submit my drama report for 2021... K-dramas (putting in spoilers because it's too long? haha... Listing is in no particular order) C-dramas - You’re My Glory (the first drama I ever spend real money to buy a merch, haha) - Rattan (love it! because of the OTP) - My Bargain Queen (on hold for indefinite time, lol) - Secrets in the Lattice (on hold for indefinite time, lol) J-dramas - Kon In Todoke - Kono Koi Atatamemasuka
  21. I am at ep.3 now 😊 The drama setup kinda reminds me of You’re Beautiful... Loving Jung In Sun. She needs to be in more lead roles!
  22. @Dhakra I am tagging you to watch 18 Again 😁 Echoing everyone’s recommendations that her role is meatier there and on top of that, it’s a very good drama.
  23. Nice! You, me and madem are in the club now. Who else come with? Hahaha Me! Me!... so in love with the actor, and the character as well
  24. Well, that nerve-wracking scene at the end of ep.10 ended rather anti-climatically, haha... I wonder how Deok Im and CL Seo brought CL Park out of the dungeon though. Ep.11-12 thoughts - Before it was Deok Im imagining San by her side, now it's San's imagining Deok Im by his side tending his wounded hand. These two.... the feeling is so deep but they're able to hold it in. Wow... - Lost count already on how many times Deok Im saved San. She is really a smart person who is able to figure out the best solution, and has good persuasive skills too. - I actually teared up when the King was crying over HCL Jo killing herself. Indeed a mean and cruel person she is. - Still find it hard to see the mother-son pairing of princess HwaHan and her adopted son. Anyway, what happened to him? - Can't stop my tears when San was mourning over the King's death. What great performance of these two actors during this scene. I love to see how San was reminiscing his grandfather towards the end of the episode as he was reflecting upon his new responsibility as the ruler of the nation. - Oooo, that ending... what a prim and proper olden time proposal! So boring, yet it made me so excited... hahahaaa... Just say "yes" Deok Im-ah! I appreciate the production doing away with some unnecessary scenes for the sake of storytelling. We get to know from the conversation and that is enough ~ CL Park's death, King's funeral, San's ascension...
