  1. Ep.7 - At around 27 min. Love the advice that the female teacher was giving to Qiqi at the bus stop, regarding not to care too much about how other people think about her. Don't let other people's opinion define who she is. Don't worry if she doesn't think she is measuring up to other people's standard. There are just way too many standards in this world to go with. Ep.9 - I especially love the parting words from the male teacher to Qiqi's delinquent friend, Lin Lan. At around 37 min. He encouraged her to keep moving forward and not stop just because she didn't get into university. Those who graduated from universities may not necessarily earn more than those who didn't have a degree. But still, there are usually regrets, of not making the best use of the opportunities available when younger. 你們生在了好時代,現在到處都是機會。 他們的路太窄,當你知道的越多,你看的世界就會越大,你能走的路也就越寬 Anyway, I kinda read a synopsis of the novel. ## spoiler potential ahead ## It seems that Qiqi's heart is more towards Zhang Jun, but looks like they will not end up together because there will be another girl, Guan He. And eventually, it is Xiao Bo who will be there for Qiqi.
  2. O yay!! You won't regret it. I'm now at ep.7, and can't stop. Three boys around her, I just can't decide who is the best person for her. LOL indeed...! Still trying to get used to it. I don't know why they don't just do a normal bob... not messy/rebellious enough? haha...
  3. @mademoiselle I finished ep.16... really, it's an episode that can be skipped totally. It's just lots of pretty bows to tie up the already finished drama. So yeah, this is your typical idol rom-com drama, where you just watch to feel happy and be entertained coz you've got too much time to kill (which I actually don't!! why did I even start it??). Sad to say it's forgettable...
  4. I heard that's the way it is in the webtoon. So I guess they're just staying true to it. If he only had taken out the bullet, then the eye might be able to regenerate, but since he gauged it out, it simply cannot grow a new one? Probably the same if part of his body is chopped away? I am pretty sure she is still alive. I also get that feeling that the mom wants her to agree to her plan, which she did, thus the funeral. I'm happy if they have a season 2, but I think I am okay too with this ending, even if they don't have another season.
  5. Reading this reminded me that I haven't even watched ep.16!! LOL.... Will back after watching ep.16.
  6. Done! I didn't feel like clicking on ep.20 at all because then the drama will be over... but of course I could not stand not knowing what will happen next. IKR!! 2 and a half, if you want to count that guy who broke Kang Hun's hand. I thought that was funny. It's like "let's see who is the last man standing"... The ending for these two is so unexpected though O, when I saw the eyeball on the floor, I exclaimed a bit, lol... I thought it's just the bullet, but of course we have to go the extreme gore with Guryungpo, don't we?... "Will it regenerate? It will grow back, right?" Those were my thoughts... haha... I cried here. This show balanced everything well. The fights, the romance, the friendship, the family bond. I teared up at their purple rooftop reunion too. But that was too short...!! We don't even get to see a proper hugs because the camera pans out far far away... #rolleyes I do feel we have too many arcs, but I don't really mind it. Somehow I can follow with the style. Expected it when we kept moving from unfinished scene to another, then back to that scene like many minutes after. A lot of viewers don't like this too. I actually like seeing the back story of each person. Didn't expect to see backstory of the northern superpowers, but knowing how they came to be made me feel pity for them because they were just disposable tools. They've been brainwashed and held hostage because of family. Ending was great for me because it's true, you have to take out those in charge first, go after them first, so I'm happy the flying superpowers took out their respective leaders. It does feel like an introduction. So I hope we get additional season, even if just one. Not enough of the kids yet!! And yes, whatever happened to the little lovebirds? I was just rejoicing earlier that they confessed their feelings to each other, and then it's no more?? Why do they need to stop contacting each other? Why only BS himself who has to miss school and graduation? Because he (the whole family) was being hunted down? But the agency knows about Hee Soo and Kang Hun too.... And also, how did they restore the school buildings so fast? LOL.... Maybe should have toned down the damage level, then it will be a bit more believable, haha....
  7. Two little lovebirds so cute! In the middle of an attack, still have the time for confession and complain The moment I see Jeon Gye Do still driving that bus, I just knew he's gonna misuse and abuse it again
  8. In the middle of watching ep.19... Wow, what is that new superpower? From daily practice of squatting bugs to demolishing a school building The person who talked to him in the dungeon, that was Kim Do Shik, right?
  9. The child actress for young Qi Qi is really good. We see how lively she was when much younger and when living with her grandpa. Very smart girl too. After the mother took her away, it's like her soul is sucked dry of joy. I dislike her mother so much, but understand that was how most parents operated with in those days ~ conditional love, though said in a gentle tone... "If you continue to be like that, I won't like you anymore", "You have to obey. If you're obedient, then we will like you"
  10. I stumbled upon this drama while browsing the Chinese drama titles... Checked the first episode out, and now at ep.3 already. I really enjoyed it and so far, it's all good. Also by the same writer of Lost You Forever. Come watch with me. @40somethingahjumma @abs-oluteM @liddi Who else might enjoy this genre?
  11. Title: Stand By Me Chinese Title: 那些回不去的年少時光 Novel: A Book Dedicated To Our Youth / Time Will Never Go Back (那些回不去的年少时光) by Tong Hua (桐华) Broadcast Dates: 16 September - 16 October 2023 Genre: slice of life, youth, romance Episodes: 30 Director: Wang Zhi Yong Screenwriter: Wu Tong Broadcasters: MangoTV, Viki Cast: Zhao Jin Mai >> Luo Qi Qi Bai Yu Fan >> Xu Xiao Bo Story: Growing up in the 1990s, Luo Qi Qi had a rather unique school career. Having survived her lonely elementary years, she moved into a rather chaotic phase during middle school. Now, as a high school senior, she faces the inevitable challenges that come with transitioning into young adulthood. Never a great student, the pressure of passing college entrance exams and getting into a good university is at times unbearable. Lucky for Qi Qi, her stubborn nature means she refuses to accept defeat, at least in most cases. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said when it comes to love. Having been on and off friends with Xu Xiao Bo for years, Qi Qi has recently started to notice that it’s become a lot more difficult to understand their relationship. Sometimes it seems like his feelings for her have developed into something beyond friendship but at other times, it seems like they’re nothing more than old acquaintances. Struggling to make sense of so much of her life, Qi Qi embarks on a journey of growth, love, and friendship. Will the lessons she learns while she’s young lead her to a brighter future? (Source: Viki)
  12. I love seeing their lovey-dovey stuff, but I agree that the chemistry is like there, but not really there... lol... Could it be because of actor HMH still holding himself back a bit? Still, they're cute together. I can't believe the parents, who have almost been absent the whole series, are actually going to get a closure in the finale....
  13. Haha... I'm not saying they're the same. Just that some angles of him, so familiar, and reminds me of Chen Han Wei. And you have to think of the super long time ago CHW ya, not now of course Aah... I haven't read all the earlier comments...
  14. I am at ep.3 now. Just have to come here and comment on the ex-girlfriend... What a possessive insecure girl... I cannot imagine what life is like for Zi Quan (or any other man) living with such a person. She asked him to turn the camera to prove he really was in a meeting. Then she didn't want him to go down to hand a work document to his female intern, yet when he asked her be the one to help hand the document to her, she gave him an ultimatum. She was ruining his career too. Gosh! Good thing she broke up with him. That calls for a celebration, imo. Tbh, if not for the high recommendation of this drama, I don't think I will stick around or even finished ep.1. It only gets interesting when the leads started interacting, and then I only look forward to their scenes. Really like their chemistry. Their first "date" was kinda unique, haha, watching movie on laptop (sharing wired earphone, they don't own a bluetooth one apparently, lol) while having high tea (which looks so good btw). I don't care about the work place stuff at all, uninteresting, but understood that it will be a background for them to work together. The sister, what exactly is their relationship? I am suspecting they're half-sisters? Like same father different mothers. But, they have different surnames, yet Tang Ying use "your" mother with Xin Zi. Spoil me. Is Liu Mei Ling protagonist or antagonist? She is listed as guest role though, while her husband is support role? So random, but I want to try that bar-bell exercise... Looks fun! The ML Elvis Han kinda reminds me of Singaporean actor Chen Han Wei. Wonder if @Chocolate thinks the same...
  15. Haha... the tab for this drama on my browser has not been shut since last week. I have 3 dramas that ended this week, so after binging ATCY, now it’s time to binge this one. Be right back!
  16. I actually think Frank is still alive... 😃 He is listed as one of the main characters.. well, so is JIS but we don’t see enough of him 😆
  17. Am I the only one feeling ep.16-17 a bit draggy? Like filler episodes... or is it because I am being impatient to keep watching more? These 2 episodes are not enough for this week!! I need moerrrrrrrr.... I find myself shouting inside “Fly Bong Seok! Fly!! Now!!” 🤦🏻‍♀️ How are these 2 kids going to fight against that flying NK agent? Mom, hurry up! How will she find them though? Btw, I also noticed the two NK agents both have scars on their faces. What is in the trunk of the car? Another superpower? 😓 What will happen to Guryungpo? Will he be okay with his face punched like that? I forgot what was the thing that might kill him? Need to go rewatch that part when he was being submerged into the water. His opponent this week is too strong?!! Big size and indestructible too 😓
  18. Endured 100 over episodes for 3 minutes of happiness 🙄 I should go learn to cut and edit my own clip of this drama.
  19. 😄 You will never find me in one of those self-drive taxis (sw some on the road when I was in San Francisco recently). I am not going to let myself be contained in a machine without having any control of how the machine should behave. Anyway... I have completed this drama. I have to say this is a good remake (finally!). Since it is a remake and having seen the original, I couldn’t help but compare when talking about this drama. Like I said earlier, ATCY has its own charm and appeal as a Kdrama. I enjoyed watching this, however, the original is still way above this. Also because I watched it without knowing how it’s gonna end. But really, the original has more soul and hearts and feels with regards to what the characters are going through. For me, the most glaring difference would be the ML. AHS is too “nice” as the high schooler, but I can still accept the character setup as being different from original. My biggest problem is when he was portraying the limping ML. Sorry to say he is not able to do a mellow jaded role yet. I can’t feel it. Maybe it’s the hair also 🤷🏻‍♀️ But he just looks too fine to be a beaten person. The way he delivered the lines too. Maybe also because his face is too plump and too smooth. Which is probably why they try to have him in long messy hair with the big scar along his jaw to make him look a little more rugged. Didn’t work for me. They should’ve just kept him the same, fine, maybe just a little longer hair, but not that long... JYB, amazing performance!! Especially so for ep.11-12. Also great performance by Min Jin Woong as Chan Yeong. Like @mademoiselle, I prefer the original version of the time ML met the little FL. For the original btw, the ending actually was leaked before airtime, so there was quite a bit of hoo-ha then while the producers trying to make the drama still intriguing, which explains the addition of an epilogue. There was definitely one scene that was out of place in ep.9. And I still think that there’s a mixed up time loop there, but no time yet to check with a rewatch. It’s regarding the time SH went back in time and Uncle told him about In Gyu’s death at the empty record store. I think it’s not aligning with what I am remembering of the time loop. I would recommend this drama of course, but if anyone ask me which to watch first, I would definitely say watch the original first. Except that it’s so hard to find with English subs!! I do hope because of this remake, more people will want to watch the original.
  20. I cried a lot watching ep.119-120. Kudos to the actors, especially Kim Si Eun as Jan Di. She has a bright future as an actress. So it’s actually not really hard to write good scenes who can move people’s heart. I just don’t understand why the writers choose to write some plot and scenes that have no added value to the drama as a whole. This could’ve been a good dailies. There definitely were some rushed scenes in ep.120. Some things are happening only behind the scenes already.
  21. Important lesson to learn ~ Always keep your eyes on the road! Even though you get to hold oppa’s hand.... Gosh, I jumped a bit and gasped out loud when that scene happened... which brings me to one complain about Destined With You, also by RoWoon At ep.9 now, I still am disliking the long hair... There might be a blunder in the time loop that I noticed. But, let me finish all episodes first. Maybe it will get addressed.
  22. He told him there’s not enough evidences to convict him anyway and that he would be released in no time. He did admit to his brother he was the one who killed the girl.
