Cha Eun Woo 차은우 is a South Korean singer, actor, model, and host. Cha Eun Woo has ticked all the boxes when it comes to his performance in the entertainment industry. ASTRO member Cha Eun Woo has been forging a path as a rookie actor for a few years now and he's quickly becoming one of K-drama's fave faces. Already nicknamed 'Face Genius' by Korean media for his alarmingly good looks, he's got charisma for days and there's no better way to fall in love than by watching some of the shows he's performed in. Afterward, he got enrolled at Hanlim Multi Art School which is located in Songpa District in Seoul, South Korea and graduated in the year 2016. In December, he was announced as a cast member of the new variety show Handsome Tigers alongside Joy, Lee Sang Yoon, Yoo Seon Ho, and Seo Jang Hoon.

In April 2020, Cha joined SBS television show Master in the House as a fixed cast member.

 

At the 2020 SBS Entertainment Awards, he won the Rookie Award for his role on the show.

 

On Dec. 2020, he starred in the tvN coming-of-age romance drama True Beauty based on the webtoon of the same name, playing high school student alongside actress Moon Ga Young.

In June 2021, he left Master in the House. In November 2021, Cha released "Don't Cry, My Love" a ballad song featuring a piano performance, for the official soundtrack of the comic Under The Oak Tree.

Year 2022
In 2022, Cha recorded "Focus on Me" for the soundtrack of the Kakao webtoon The Villainess Is a Marionette, released on February, 22.

 

Cha then played the role of a Navy officer in Hwang In Ho's urban terror action film Decibel which was released in November, 2022.

'Fantagio' released an image of an on-site event notice for the solo photo exhibition 'ARCHIVE' on SNS.

Actor Cha Eun Woo's 1st solo photo exhibition 'Archieve' opened on the 13th at The Seouliteum Exhibition Hall 1. In particular, from the first day of the exhibition, numerous fans from home and abroad who visited the site proved their keen interest.

Actor Cha Eun Woo wants audiences of the series “Island,” in which he stars, to understand that his character Yohan is a special kind of priest, certainly not immune to his own problems.

 

Despite the star-studded cast of the latest Tving and Amazon Prime series, the reception of the handsome Vatican-bred Korean priest from both domestic and global viewers has been lukewarm. Lead actor Cha is intent on turning that around in the second season with a deeper portrayal of his character Yohan, who questions not only his mission but also that of God.

 

Surprises are to be expected in Part 2 of the series, to be released later this month, according to Cha, but it remains to be seen whether the series will make a turnaround from its lackluster performance on the streaming charts.

 

"In the second season, Yohan starts questioning God’s intentions, and his own internal struggles build up," Cha said to the local press on last Tuesday.

 

"There will be much development in Part 2, with even more action and battles along with my character’s growth.”

 

Cha plays Yohan, a Vatican priest who returns to his birthplace — Korea — to fight evil forces that dominate the island of Jeju, off the south coast of the peninsula. Yohan meets Van, played by Kim Nam Gil, a half-human, half-demon character, and Won Miho, played by Lee Da Hee.

 

 

 

 

 

The original manhwa is a masterpiece, but it is quite an old publication, so the logic and sentiment of the material could be a little off-putting for modern audiences,” said Cha. “But we, the main cast, and the director, all talked to the author of the original series and conversed a lot. I think the end result is that we respected the original manhwa but also brought something new to the story.”

 

“Island” reached ninth place on  Amazon Prime's worldwide rankings in early January this year, becoming the first Korean content to enter the top 10. But since then, the series has shown humdrum performance, being unable to surpass fellow domestic shows such as Netflix's “The Glory” in terms of viewership numbers and landing around the fourth to fifth place mark on average in 20 countries, according to data from streaming service aggregator FlixPatrol.

Astro Cha Eunwoo rushed back to Korea, abrupting his schedule from United States due to the death of fellow Astro member Moonbin. On April 20, Cha Eunwoo was seen entering South Korea Incheon International Airport after being in the United States for his individual schedule. He quickly returned home after hearing the tragic news of Moonbin's passing. 

Cha Eunwoo appeared somber, donning a black hat, dark navy jacket, black pants with visibly sad and tearful eyes.
