Synopsis
“ Severe Trauma Center:Golden Hour” follows the development of the Severe Trauma Center team centered on Baek Kang Hyuk. He is the director of the Severe Trauma Center, as well as a novice professor at the university hospital. Aside from being the Severe Trauma Center director, he is a skilled surgeon. The series is expected to deliver a riveting story of those who witness life-or-death situations at a trauma center. Adaptation from a Naver webtoon "Jungjeungoesangsenteo: Goldeun Awo" (중증외상센터: 골든 아워) by Hansan iga (한산이가) of the same name written by a real doctor. A web novel written by Han San Yi (an otolaryngologist at Inha University Hospital) was inspired by the autobiographical essay ‘Golden Hour’ by Professor Lee Kuk Jong of Ajou University College of Medicine.

Prominent actor Ju Ji Hoon is reportedly cast to lead a new Korean series based on the popular medical webtoon “Severe Trauma Center: Golden Hour” (working title). Korean Media reported that prominent actor Ju Ji Hoon is currently reviewing an offer to play the lead role in a forthcoming webtoon-based on Korean series “Severe Trauma Center: Golden Hour, manhwa Jungjeungoesangsenteo: Goldeun Awo by Hansan Lee Ga (Dr. Lee Nak Joon). He is an otolaryngology specialist, a YouTuber, and a web-serial writer. Meanwhile, Hong Bichira created the medical illustrations for the webtoon.

The web novel was inspired by the autobiographical essay “Golden Hour” by Professor Lee Kuk Jong of Ajou University College of Medicine. However, since a real doctor wrote it, the stories and characters have captivated the readers. Currently, season 2 of the webtoon is still ongoing.

 

Actor Ju Ji Hoon accepted the offer, the upcoming drama will mark his return to medical drama after “Medical Top Team” in 2013.
