  1. I think Shiyi’s mom’s death is related to the Ou family. I do wonder though why in the previews, the second lead looks like he gets a lashing. I love seeing Houye finally come to terms with his feelings and work toward getting close to Shiyi. Love that he even broke his window on purpose just so he can stay with her. And love that he held her hand and tried to kiss her when they were fixing the sheets together. It goes to show he’s now actively pursuing her. I am also glad that Madame Xu finally saw Qian for what she really was and that she finally sees Shiyi’s true nature and good qualities. It’s about time!!
  2. LSG said that this role is so different from all his prior roles and it’s making me think he’s the killer! Lol But seriously eager to see his character development in this one and am curious if he’s a character with layers.
  3. Thank you for explaining the previews @SnT! Definitely excited for the next episodes. yay!!! I’m so happy to see that she’s finally being exposed for all her evil deeds!! And I must admit I’m a total sucker for scenes where the male lead saves the female lead. Just look at how Houye dashes in to save and protect Shiyi!
  4. If the article is to be believed, it makes it seem like LSG is definitely not the serial killer.
  5. I need subtitles! I have no idea what is happening in the previews!! It doesn’t look good for Shiyi though and I can’t gauge what Houye is thinking.
  6. What I like about Shiyi’s relationship with Zhun is that she is filling the void that Zhun has from losing is mother but Shiyi does it in such a natural and non-aggressive way. She loves and supports Zhun in ways that benefit the child instead of her. So we can clearly see that she is putting the child’s needs first. I also really appreciate that she doesn’t try to erase Yuanniang’s presence or memories. We saw this when she sang the same lullaby when Zhun was sick. Another thing I appreciate is how she is trying to bridge the gap between father and son. She clearly sees there is a distance between Zhun and Houye and she is encouraging them both to become closer.
  7. So what does that mean then? That Houye doesn't actually want to divorce Shiyi?
  8. I also thought the same.. when JH was being strangled, even though the mom was a little blurry, it still looked more like HH's wife - same hair, same voice. And the way she reacted made sense to me since not only does JH carry the gene but his father was a convicted serial killer. I think that for the other mom, even though her child also carried the gene, she would have possibly looked at her child not as a carrier of the gene but more a reminder of her late husband who was a good man. So my guess is that the child was loved dearly despite having the gene.
  9. @SnT what does he lee shu mean again? So you suspect that the divorce is possibly arranged by Houye as a trap? I just finished watching ep 19 and 20...
  10. @YanaI’m sorry to hear about your accident and your grandma. My condolences to you and your family on your grandma’s passing. I hope your accident wasn’t too serious and that your recovery goes well.
  11. Ok thanks @NiteWalker! I might check out the first two episodes and see if it pulls me in.
  12. @Darkarcana I’ve always loved this one. My kids love it too.
  13. I actually think the opposite because as a wife, I would've felt totally blindsided, fooled, confused, ashamed, disgusted... And to think someone you are intimately familiar with is capable of such evil is just... hard to come to terms with. I think it would have been more understandable if she stayed somewhere else and asked a friend to pack up her stuff or for her to get her things and leave right away. I also found it strange that she chose to came back to the house considering there were so many reporters outside. But anyway, it's neither here nor there. The real question is.. who's the psychopath!!!!
  14. @NiteWalker how is the chemistry between the leads? I don't think I'm familiar with either one of them.
  15. @SnT I think there isn't one specific instance but rather a series of small things that started to make him fall for her.. for me, the following scenes were turning points for him: When he asked her if she was okay giving up managing the household and he was surprised by her answer in that the goal is to get things done so as long as things are getting done, then it doesn't matter who does them. I think this was the very first of her many actions that made him start to notice her. I think this is because she had behaved contradictory to what he would have expected every other "wife" to react. The way she took such good care of Zhun. She even sang to him the same lullaby Yuanniang would sing to him. Even though there were other family members willing to care for Zhun, she really put all her effort in caring for him. When she deduced his innermost feelings - about him worrying about something but feeling powerless to do anything about it. When she was willing to leave for Danyang's well-being. When she made personal sacrifices during the moldy rice incident. It wasn't even her fault and she could have take advantage of the opportunity for personal gain and yet she made personal sacrifices, putting the needs of the family first. And to do this when she didn't have affection for LingYi yet. That shows that she truly is just a good person.
  16. @NiteWalker Same! I'm actually surprised she went back to the house! I would have not wanted to be anywhere near that place considering he stuffed the heads in the snowmen!! Who knows what else is lying around... CREEPY!
  17. Counting down the hours until we get new episodes!! Thank you @Tofu for the gifs! I love them all! I love how sneaky LingYi can be when he wants more time with Shiyi or when he wants to be close to her. She's the only woman who doesn't throw herself at him. That scene where she falls asleep and he slowly leans her toward him before he picks her up is so sweet, gentlemanly and well... shows experience.. ahem ahem... I also love that scene where she's tells him he's well-built and will look good in anything he wears and he immediately looks at himself in the mirror, feeling good about getting a rare compliment from Shiyi.. LOL
  18. @Warm Paws I actually thought that maybe Prof. Daniel lied to HSJ's wife and told her that the child tested positive with the gene in the hopes that she would terminate the pregnancy which would be a blow to Han Seo Joon since it was his whole purpose for getting married. I thought that perhaps Prof. Daniel would use that as his revenge since HSJ killed his sister. But then again, he is unable to abort the child himself and she is already past the stage for abortion so I don't think he lied to her since I can't figure out what he would gain from doing so.
  19. I agree! The child is the creepiest actually!! Yes!!! I actually thought about this too during the assembly meeting. Because why would they make it a point to include that scene in ep 1? Also, the line that woman says... something along the lines of “remember you were the one who deprived your child of that world”... or something like that. It felt important somehow. Like he is going to regret it someday. But I didn’t connect that it might be the assembly man in the car at the end. But I also think there are 3 babies carrying the gene.
  20. @NiteWalker you don’t have to back read because there’s only been 2 episodes and we know zero. At this point we’ve just been discussing theories with zero concrete answers. Haha! @Darkarcana I have to admire your detective effort in exploring every possible lead. Where did you even find this?? Hahaha!
  21. @mademoiselle I also hope Mouse does a good job of exploring these topics bec otherwise it’s just a murder mystery. I also interpreted Ba Reum’s line to mean that he expected a serial killer to look different and was surprised that he looked “normal”. To be honest, even I was surprised to find out who the head hunter was and the fact that Prof Daniel didn’t see it either tells you something. And he’s the lead researcher of the gene study on psychopaths!
  22. I agree, I think it’s less about percentages. I think it’s exploring the following: - Nature vs. Nurture. Do our genes dictate the type of people we become or does our environment and upbringing. Are all with the gene predispositioned? Likewise do those that don’t have the gene mean they’ll never become one? - Choice - despite the gene and upbringing, can they choose the type of person they become - the effect of trauma - clearly there are victims and families of victims who have been affected. How does trauma change one’s behaviour and mental disposition - the line between Genius and Crazy - where is the tipping point?
  23. @Warm Paws I like the way you summarized the percentages because that is how I understood it too. What doesn’t make sense to me though is if Prof. Daniel is saying that only the top 1% of those with the psychopath gene ends up being serial killers, then that’s a very very low case for approval. Basically saying that the accuracy of the gene diagnosis is only 99% and only 1% of that ends up being serial killers. So how do you isolate the top 1% then? That’s the part that throws me off about his study.
