  5. I binged this series over the weekend and it was not bad. I've seen better xianxia dramas, but I didn't think it was horrible. Gu Jin is able to awaken his True God powers after his tribulation (the destruction of Daze Mountain). Ah' Yin is able to awaken her Phoenix Queen powers after her own tribulations (Ah Yin's death) too. There was a lot of push and pull with the romance. Both were really stubborn and misunderstood each other a lot. There were moments I felt for both of them but also times I was just frustrated that they were talking but not communicating. I felt similarly about the second couple too. At the end, it all worked out and it's a happy ending. Although, I would have wished they showed the couple hug or something. They were both just staring at each other smiling. I didn't care about the Peacock Tribe messing with the devil's power even though I understand that was a big part of the drama. I guess I was so exhausted with both father and daughter that it didn't matter to me what they were doing anymore. For the Devils, I am interested to see if the Devil King (who's been in prison) is able to change his fate. I was a bit fascinated by his character.
  6. Sorry, @mademoiselle. I have forsaken you with this drama. LOL! I'm catching all the clips and it was very satisfying to see the makeover scene plus when Kikwang came in and said he never dated the BFF.
  7. @mademoiselle I for sure thought you would complain about the hair and not the Stanley cup.
  8. I am too confused to finish, so I read @abs-oluteM Twitter posts and I think I'm going to end this drama as that.
  9. Kim Jae Wook is so good! I couldn't take my eyes off him. He was truly amazing as the serial killer. Honestly, the two Jae Wooks are just dominating in this drama. Something worth sharing -- in the opening scene, a bunch of livestreamers are trying to beat up a man. This man they were going to beat up is actually one of the life Yi Jae lived as in the manhwa. He was a murderer on house arrest. The drama kept it the same with the serial killer killing him at the end. YES!! I was intrigued watching Kim Jae Wook's character's story. I don't remember anything about using blood to paint in the manhwa and loved this change. The paintings were so eerie especially the huge red one Tae Woo wanted to buy. The paintings in his "playhouse" captured his victims' last moments, but the red one was his trophy case. @mademoiselle The part were they show Kim Jae Wook's character with above knee amputation got to me. I wince when they showed that. I loved this. It was very clever of Yi Jae to use the skills of everyone against Tae Woo. I think Sung Hoon had more screen time in this part than he did in his character's actual story. The homeless man and white collar man was not in the manhwa so I was a little surprised by it. I don't think they were needed, but I understand why the drama put them in. I don't think Yi Jae committed suicide again. Death said something about that life being cruel, so maybe it was to teach him a lesson that his lack of moral understanding/valuing his life is what started it. He won because he was able to live his Omma's entire life to the end. In the manhwa, he was given 13 lives, so at the end he gets another shot to change his life around. He ends up not jumping and taking his Omma's phone call. If he doesn't die, then, the events that happens will change. This part was never explored in the manhwa. I would like to think that since Yi Jae is aware, maybe he can do something to help all the people who were wrongfully killed by Tae Woo. @abs-oluteM I did not watch GC. I think you would enjoy this one more. All the acting is top notch! Now that this drama is over, @Chocolate can binge it if she hasn't already. LOL!
  10. My understanding is that this was their next life. I was telling @mademoiselle that I don't know why they had to make him a highschool student (she's in college). They could have both been college students and a campus couple!
  11. @SilverMoonTea No chance for SLS here. The love for Kentaro is too strong.
  12. @SilverMoonTea Did you buy both books? Haha!
  13. I would like to know too, @40somethingahjumma. I'm curious to see if you spent more time in Chinese or Korean dramaland. I think I spent more time watching Korean dramas this year. Only a few Chinese dramas caught my attention. I also realized that this year, I preferred costume dramas over the modern ones in Chinese dramaland. It's easy to do when you drop a drama during the time the main couple gets together. It gives you more time for other dramas. Hahaha! Just kidding! @SilverMoonTea and I probably drive @mademoiselle crazy when this happens.
  14. Good Impression Fang Yilun from A Journey to Love and Tseng Ching Hua from Oh No! Here Comes Trouble. Both were amazing! I was very invested in Yu Shisan and Pu Yi Yong. Wished to See I am drawing a blank. I think more than an actor or actress I want to see, I just want more interesting/well-written dramas in 2024. Hahahaha!! I completed 36 dramas, dropped 29 dramas, and I'm currently watching 3 dramas. However, I don't have motivation to finish these three, so it'll probably be 36 completed dramas and 32 dropped dramas soon. You are the MVP!!!
  15. @peperomia I'm glad I'm not the only one who's still keeping up with the things coming out post-airing. This drama was my favorite from Chinese dramaland this year. LYN and FYL talking about the ending is all of us. That was not a journey to love! Hahahaha!
