    I’ll definitely watch and come back here. Most likely over this weekend. The me today would have a difficult time getting through Seige in Fog because of the nonstop push and pull, but Elvis Han was worth the watch back then. I’m excited to see him in a contemporary romance and looking forward to the slow burn of friendship turning into something romantic. You are hilarious. I assume you will continue watching this. I will watch after I finish Longing for You finale. LOL. Yay, you saw the trailer. Looks quite spectacular, right? I was told the airing schedule is 1 episode per day but 2 episodes on Wednesday which I agree is a bit slow. Total of 24 episodes is do-able for me though. About Joseph Zeng, my understanding is he has a guest role only which was a bummer when I found that out. I liked him in Heaven Sword and Dragon Sabre. But, I also like Zhang Ling He from Maiden Holmes.

    Thank you @40somethingahjumma I love When Harry Met Sally. I saw it again not too long ago so timing is perfect. I was planning to start another costume C-drama, My Journey to You, but I'll watch this first since it will complete soon. I haven't seen Elvis Han since Siege in Fog so it should be interesting seeing him in this role. (Off topic: I believe you like martial arts. Maybe you might like My Journey to You. I read reviews the choreo is amazing so far. I have to warn you though. It's still airing and is supposed to be angsty/suspenseful, including the romance part. Just FYI.)

    LOL. Let me first clarify that I don't believe he should get off scot free, but what you said is exactly why I wonder how much of his actions can the police/prosecution charge on him. By the way, isn't it weird the secretary didn't kill him off? I almost forgot he kidnapped Young Joo and Hee Joo. (I thought it was funny Hee Joo turned over a new leaf and wants to be a true prosecutor. Good for her and that she sees Young Joo as a role model after the kidnapping incident.) Nooooo...! I don't want him too. I think I'd cry.

    @liddi @ktcjdrama @40somethingahjumma Thanks for the clarification on the 2 seasons. Good to know filming has already been completed, but due to current rules, it is just getting split into 2 parts. Not airing season 2 until next year is a long gap though. Hopefully, timing is early next year. Thanks @liddi I'm happy to hear the drama adapted the key scenes and dialogue of the novel. Adaptions are usually difficult to capture all the details in the narrative of the novel which is why I was worried about the drama leaving out certain things. I like both Tu Shan Jing and Xiang Liu so I hope by the end, the emphasis on the 2 characters are at least equal. I also hope they don't emphasize on the 2 being love rivals, but they do have a mutual respect for each other. From what I understand though, Xiang Liu is Tong Hua's favorite character so I think she'll make sure he receives the audience's love that he deserves, especially in season 2. I will watch this for sure, but I might hold off a little. I'll definitely come back here when I do.

    I finished 11 and 12 - very good. Loved where it left off with Oh Jin Sang finding Park Ki Young alive! Those smirks of theirs when they looked at each other were so satisfying to see. Who knew fermented soy bean stew would be the key and Bae Min Gyu would be of any help with solving the dental records. LOL. It will be interesting to see what will happen to Park Ki Young. Will he get off with his so-called "perfect crime"? I think Cha Young Woon is pretending to side with his family to trap them as well. Because they're still his family, we might see that he's emotionally conflicted, but he'll do the right thing. A few episodes ago when he told his parents he wanted to propose to Young Joo, his mother made a comment that she guesses his instincts are with Woo Jin (due to having Jin Woo's heart). For this reason, I believe he'll side with his Woo Jin friends and expose his family's crimes. I don't see how else he'll be able to live on with Jin Woo's heart without seeking justice for him and simply doing the right thing. Let's hope we're not wrong. Totally agree. I was amazed by Cha Young Woon's emotions (and Kwon Yool's delivery) in this part. Because he was disgusted by his mother defending her monstrous actions and his father’s indifference in sacrificing an illegitimate son is why I doubt his end goal is to save them.

    This is on my watchlist, but I’ve been hesitant to start it because I understand it is split into 2 seasons. Does anyone happen to know whether a commitment for season 2 is set in stone and when it will air? (I would be disappointed if it came to halt partway like Princess Agents.) @liddi I’ve read the novel as well. So far, do you think the drama follows it for the most part? I usually don't care too much about this, but for this one, I feel it's important for the storytelling to hold true to the intricate details of the novel (as much as it can for an adaptation).

    Hi ladies ~ Thanks for the recent updates. I've been busy and haven't caught up with this week's episodes yet, but I will. I'm glad to hear the development and pacing is still good. Seems like the ending of the story with 2 more episodes should be the right spot. LOL. I'm amazed myself. So, Park Ki Young is another illegitimate son of Young Woon's father? I like this twist. I'd like to think he's alive.

    @abs-oluteM Oh yeah, if you watch The Day, please do open a thread. Besides PSH's role, I am also interested in Yoon Kye Sang's character and his dynamics with the young girl. In the meantime, I'll look into PSH's previous dramas. Thanks for the recs!

    @abs-oluteM This show was a gem so I’m happy it left you with positive feelings as well. Re: Jin Hong and Jin Hee’s relationship, sometimes not much needs to be said about it nor does it need to be defined. Although subtle, there was some dialogue that highlighted the importance of one to the other. When Eun Mi shared her worries about letting Jin Hee go with Jin Hong, he comforted her by saying they just need to patiently wait as Jin Hee will eventually come around and return by “our side” again. He spoke of the situation like a father would and his use of “our side” signified their dynamic much like a family. As for Jin Hee, I believe she was able to let go of her mother and embark on her solo journey mostly because she had full trust in Jin Hong. When Eun Mi talked about how she will live life to the fullest from hereon, including dating a lot, Jin Hee wanted reassurance her mother meant going on dates with Jin Hong only. I thought this spoke volumes of the significance of Jin Hong to her – essentially a permanent figure in their lives. I would've loved more scenes of Jin Hee and Jae Won as well, but the slow-burn was beautifully done to the end. And, if there's still more left to be desired of them, it means there's something truly special about them, right? So, maybe it's best to leave it at that. I take back what I said about needing a fanfic. LOL. By the way, this was my first-time watching Park Sung Hoon and I really like him. I read he will play a detective in the upcoming show “The Day” that is airing in September. I plan to check it out!

    Alas, we have reached the end. I liked the last episode, but at the same time, I wanted so much more! This might be the first time I felt the format of 12 episodes wasn’t enough. If we’re supposed to imagine what 1 year later looks like, I am in desperate need of a fanfic. LOL. Nevertheless, some things I liked were: Eun Mi, Jin Hee and Jae Won’s conversation at the convenient store. Eun Mi pieced together they slept together at the official residence. It was funny how she teased him and made him squirm. On a serious note, by the look in her eyes, knowing Jin Hee has Jae Won by her side seemed to put Eun Mi at ease. Jin Hee being straightforward in saying that if she moved out and into the official residence, it would be cohabitation. This surprised Jae Won while Eun Mi didn’t object. LOL. Eun Mi admitting Jin Hee can do better without her. (I believe this has a tie into her other thought that Jin Hee isn’t like her, as she grew up with love.) Eun Mi realizing she must let go of Jin Hee first so in turn, Jin Hee can let go of her. Jin Hee accepting the pocket money from Eun Mi and Mi Jung was expected, but I liked that she accepted Jin Hong’s and his sister/Ji Eun’s as well. Her message to Ji Eun was a thoughtful gesture. They’re not exactly family but not strangers either. It was nice that she made the effort to let Ji Eun know that. The consistency of Jae Won – calm, level-headed and thoughtful. Jin Hee backpacking for 1 year can’t be easy on him, but he was 100% supportive and let her know that he’ll be waiting for her. She reassured him that she’ll miss him. I like that his travel notebook will be as if he’s with her. A part of me wished he also went with her, but I get why it was a trip she must do on her own and for herself. Finally, I’m not quite sure how I feel about Eun Mi deciding to backpack as well. I guess if she wasn’t truly tagging along with Jin Hee, I could accept it. I know all along they’re supposed to be inseparable. So, while they’re on their own different paths now, they’re also kind of still together.

    OMG, I assume the new character is supposed to be Jin Woo’s biological mom? I had a feeling there might be more to his birth story. Let’s see if there is a connection to Young Woon’s family. There must be since she wants to bring them down. -------- Overall, I thought episode 8 was pretty good. So, is it pretty safe to say both Bae Min Gyu and Ki Young are the culprits in the serial killings? Based on BMG’s perversion, I think he executed the killings and KY helped set-up. I thought the dialogue between BMG and KY at the vacation home and between YW and the psychologist at KY’s house gave some clues and insight into KY’s psychology: 1. KY confirmed he has a grudge against YW’s family. Specific to YW, his goal is to hurt him mentally and emotionally which is why he wanted to kill Young Joo. (I think what will really break YW is when he knows the truth about JW's death.) 2. BMG asked KY if YW’s family sponsorship of him was a guise to hide abuse and therefore, he wants revenge. This question seemed to trigger something in KY. What does this mean? 3. YW said KY was supposedly abandoned by his mom. Could there be more to her disappearance? 4. The psychologist said the Achilles heel in the painting indicates the crime’s motive should be punishing excessive motherhood. YW believes it could represent his mother’s unusual maternal affection. KY was jealous and unable to understand it. 5. KY kept a museum of the murders at his house. The psychologist thinks this boldness was due his desire to show off. KY thought he was too genius to get exposed, but if he did, he could also show off his intelligence by having them try to figure out why he committed the crimes. He believes they can’t because he has planned and put together the perfect crime – a work of art. 6. The psychologist also thinks the identical rooms mean KY believes he and YW are equals. The only thing different was a framed photo of young KY and YW together by the swimming pool. YW said it was taken when KY beat YW in a swimming competition and KY was very happy about it. His goal is to beat him again. Now…what will happen to KY after getting wheeled away at he airport?

    I’ve only seen ep 7 so far. I agree there was lots going on. I want to say Ki Young is out of his mind, but at the same time I can’t because he seems to have carefully planned things out well. Bae Min Gyu did kill his wife. KY has video footage of it. However, is BMG also the serial killer? There were items at KY’s house that would tie KY to the serial murder case, but did he plant them there on purpose? I personally doubt he's the serial killer, but he knows who it is. Dr. Chu kept tabs on Jin Woo. I’m certain this work was for Young Woon’s family. He mentioned his son is in Canada. Maybe he received money from YW’s mom to send his son there in exchange? @Chocolate I’ll watch 8 soon to see what you mean about the new character and the theory on JW. I agree with this and your speculation about KY's mother possibly being a victim. There has to be a compelling reason for him to want to take down the family this badly.

    @abs-oluteM Your feelings of Eun Mi are completely fair. I do think the show might’ve gone overboard in showcasing her rough personality. If it had toned her down a bit, maybe she could’ve been more likeable to viewers. I also think @40somethingahjumma has a good point about her. It's true one doesn't have to like her to enjoy or appreciate the story. If the writing and characterization of all the leads are executed well, they'll do the show justice, which I think they have. Re: the stabbing being a symbolic moment, at the close of ep 10, Eun Mi saw her life flashing before her eyes while she was lying on the hospital bed. They seem to be memories of major moments in her life. Painful ones of her abusive father and breakup with teenage Jin Hong. Happier ones with teenage Jin Hong and her pseudo-family with Mi Jung’s. The last one stuck out. It was her experiencing losing child Jin Hee due to punishing her outside the house. Even though she eventually found Jin hee, she seemed to be ridden with guilt. So, I wonder if that is partly why the topic of abandoning seems to be sensitive throughout the story and why she has difficulty separating herself from Jin Hee. Also, on the hospital bed, she appeared semi-unconscious and heard adult Jin Hee crying for her. This might be what pulls her back from the brink of death. Regardless, after this experience, I also believe there'll be major changes in the perspectives of the significant people in her life. And whatever has been her reason to hold onto Jin Hee, I hope to see her let Jin Hee go so that Jin Hee can also let her go. I can’t remember the last time I found a pairing on a show so endearing, and they aren’t officially a couple yet. I think because from our point of view, you can see the affection written all over their faces, but they don’t seem to realize these feelings yet. This kind of development feels more realistic compared to how most couples get together in drama-land and a part of me doesn’t want it to end. But, since we’re down to the final 2 episodes, I agree it’s time they get together. I also hope they’ll explain what happened between them at the academy as well. The bonding of the Namchon team has also been a delight see, so I'm curious of what will happen to Jin Hee and Jae Won's career paths. Will they stay or will they go back to headquarters?

    I might be one of the few people who really likes Eun Mi. Yes, she is imperfect but not malicious (at least not to me). I think some of her biggest faults are her terrible communication skills and inability to effectively communicate her real intentions. She tends to speak and act in her own code, making things a lot more complicated than they should be and frustrating for others around her. For example... During the trip, she didn’t invite Jin Hong. He decided to tag along and show up, yet if she didn’t want any pressure of his presence on Jin Hee, she should’ve asked him to leave. Instead, she goes into a roundabout way of telling Jin Hong to focus on dating her only and not try to have a relationship with Jin Hee. It made her look selfish and insensitive when all she was trying to do was protect Jin Hee. Now, after some awkward encounters with Jin Hong at their home, he brought up the topic of Eun Mi and him living together. She immediately declined, obviously the reason was because of Jin Hee. Jin Hee overheard this, yet Eun Mi stubbornly refused to admit her unwillingness to go was because of Jin Hee, causing unnecessary tension between. BUT…I’m glad the topic of mother and daughter living part was brought up. It's true it has been a world of just her and Jin Hee, but she needs to realize it can’t be that way forever. It’s just not healthy. Eun Mi needs to finally cut the umbilical cord and allow Jin Hee to live her life. It's the only way Jin Hee can flourish and be happy. In fact, living their own lives and having their own identities should be liberating for the both of them. Also, Eun Mi needs to let Jin Hee make her own decision on whether she wants a father/daughter relationship with Jin Hong and whether she wants to get to know her paternal relatives. These are ultimately Jin Hee’s decisions, not Eun Mi’s. Re: Jin Hee and Jae Won, I also might be one of the few who really likes the slow-burn romance between them. Maybe because the feelings are obviously there and there's no question of the end game so the process and journey is so pleasing to watch for me. The unspoken affection and care that they have for each other is simply beautiful.

    Wow, not an explanation I would've expected! Well, at least it's not tied to any sort of romance we're not wanting here. LOL. Agree. I actually keep forgetting that Na In Woo is the main male lead. LOL. I watched all the Voice series too. I liked V1 and V4 the most as well. V4 might have the upper-hand if I had to choose one of them. But yes, I think I screamed when Kwon Yool appeared at the end of V4. V5 is going to be awesome!

    @SilverMoonTea Wah, glad you're joining us LOL. I can smell this too. Storyline already has some makjang elements so I can see the end being that way too...hopefully, it will be tastefully done though. As far as tragedy, I can see this too but hoping for bittersweet instead, if possible. Title is interesting, right? Maybe it will make sense by the end. It would be nice if it was tied to CYW's character. He's held back a lot his most of his life because of his overbearing/controlling mother. Post-surgery, his sense of self seems awakened - much bolder and expressive. Kwon Yool and his character are very likeable in the show. I see that you're a Voice fan(?). I'm assuming he'll be returning in Voice 5 which I am really forward to.

    My head is spinning from watching 5 & 6. LOL. I agree @Tofu that the reporter's behavior toward YW seems to be some kind of inferior complex, but at the same time, he seems to have a huge agenda against YW's family as well. @Chocolate If so, I have the same questions as you as to why. I agree revenge would be a more compelling reason versus pure envy/jealousy of YW. I really disliked the part where JS beat up BMG at the restaurant which eventually led to the special investigation am to be disbanded, but I thought it was interesting when the reporter prompted JS to use logic, not violence, to solve JW's death. So, I think the reporter is trying to leave a trail of breadcrumbs for JS to investigate the truth. This is the saddest part. As far as we know, JW has done nothing wrong. Also, he has always steered away from the family business and marched to his own calling as a prosecutor. Ugh, it's going to be so heartbreaking when he and his friends find out the truth about JW's heart. Good point. What's also weird is he seemed alarmed when he saw the alert on his phone of JS breaking into his home, but his expression changes when HJ invites him to her home for a drink. You would think he would decline and try to somehow stop JS from rummaging through his home, but he doesn't. Hmmm...

    I still haven't gotten to ep 5 yet. Will watch it with 6. @Chocolate Re: the reporter, I'm thinking he sent the video footage of JW's attack to JS, but why since he has a good relationship with YW's mother? His intentions are hard to figure out, but I like it. I do think there's something off with JW's birth story. As you brought up, why would his mother try to abandon him at the park? Also, why did she treat him unfavorably as compared to JS? Whether there is a connection to YW's father, we'll see... Good point on why YW's mother would've known JW was a good match. Dr. Chu may have something to do with it too.

    I feel you completely about episode 4. It was very sad and difficult to watch this all happen to sweet JW. So, I hope we definitely do see some of JW in YW. . Same, but I do think the exaggeration is somewhat intended. For me, it's the brothers' mother and the prosecution chief's daughter who are too much for me. That is a very interesting description of Na In Woo! LOL.

    Well, your thoughts would be in line with most viewers' consensus about him. LOL. This is purely my speculation at this point. Another thing is it's just odd that the mother specifically targeted JW and knew he would be a match. Yes, YW is going to be heartbroken when he finds out the heart is JW's and the heinous orchestration behind it. Kwon Yool is the only actor I am familiar with from the cast and I agree he is a good actor. I haven't seen ep 5 yet, but he looked like he had a guilty conscious during most of ep 4. He also kept the brothers' mother away during the night of JW's attack.

    @Chocolate Sorry, I didn't realize you had already watched episode 4 when you asked me the question about the heart on the Revenant thread so I refrained from elaborating in details. LOL. @Chocolate @Tofu Here is what is suspected as of ep 4: YW's heart condition was declining and needed a heart transplant. Not sure how long his parents have been planning to target JW, but they sent their assistant/henchman (not the reporter) to attack him by the sea - to injure him enough to eventually be declared brain dead at YW's mother's hospital. JW had consented to donate his organs 7 years ago so when his family let him pass, his heart is suspected to have gone to YW while he was taking time off in the U.S. (I don't think he knows it's JW's heart as all of this is presumed to have been organized and trafficked by his mother.) Fast forward 1 year later, YW returns to Seoul from the U.S. and he is noticeably different which is supposedly due to the effects of him having JW's heart now. (If you've seen Falling for Innocence, it might be similar to what happened to Jung Kyung Ho's character.) The night YW's parents gave orders to the assistant to attack JW. YW's mother made an indirect comment to his father saying that some people can't stay loyal. So, I'm suspecting JW might be her husband's son from an affair, making YW and JW half brothers and why JW was a good match for YW's heart transplant. @Tofu This is my first Na In Woo drama. Some web comments have been super critical about his performance here, but I like him so far. (Now I'm curious to see what his real life personality is like. LOL.) About his character, I will say my only dislike is when he gets physical/ violent due to his emotions.

    Both episodes 7 and 8 were so good. Re: Eun Mi, not sure if this would apply to her, but I’ve read some people who experience trauma may remain “stuck” at the age of trauma which can disrupt emotional growth and cause problems in relationships with others. This may be why Eun Mi acts like a teenager – focused on boyfriends, her appearance, dancing to K-pop, etc. However, I notice with Jin Hong’s sincerity and protection, there is some maturity and calming in her. If there is improvement in her character from here on, I think the writer’s intent with Eun Mi’s character is working. About mother/daughter’s relationship, I do think Jin Hee suffered because of Eun Mi’s immaturity and insensitivity, but at the same time, I also think as Jin Hee learns more of her mom’s past and suffering, she will understand better why her mom is the way she is. I thought it was a key moment when she took in the pregnant teen and related the teen’s hardships with her mom. I got a little emotional when she laid next to her mom in bed asking her why she decided to have her when it would obviously be difficult for her. Jin Hee to Eun Mi may have been her lifesaver – her primary reason for persevering through life. The more we get to know Jin Hong, the more I like him. He is sweet and kind. I also like that he’s clueless and a bit of a dork. (He goes to bed at 10pm and wakes up at 4am to read. LOL.) Jin Hee also sees good qualities in him. Toward the end of the trip, Eun Mi knew when Jin Hee offered to take the couple photo of them, Jin Hee was starting to open-up to him. Eun Mi then decided to officially date him. I also liked how she took the pressure of Jin Hong’s sudden appearance off Jin Hee by telling him to focus solely on dating her, not forming a relationship with Jin Hee. Not sure if it’s possible for Jin Hee and Jin Hong to have a true father/daughter relationship, but I can see potential of a similar kind for them when it's not forced, but happens naturally. I really liked Jin Hee and Jae Won’s moments together. We absolutely need more of them! Jae Won is also protective of Jin Hee. Sounded like he defended her to his seniors at headquarters and got into some trouble for it. Their potential romance as comrades makes it great in that they can relate in career hardships and confide/support one another. I am waiting for the moment Jae Won fully opens his heart to Jin Hee. Also, I am still waiting for flashbacks of their backstory at the academy. I agree - "Police Academy Oppa" is a give-away! LOL.

    Just started this this week... The story got more interesting with Ahn Jae Wook’s appearance. I like the flashbacks of him and Eun Mi and how their personality traits as teenagers still mirror who they are as adults. The details are on point. There’s also this shared child-like innocence to them that maybe comes from them not having the freedom to live for themselves the last 30 years. He obviously genuinely liked and still likes Eun Mi so I’m invested in their unfinished story. I’m all for second chances. Is it me or is it difficult to read Jae Won? LOL. I don’t know why, but his demeanor toward Jin Hee he reminds me that of Ahn Jeong Won toward Gyeo-Ul in Hospital Playlist. There’s just more to it than meets the eye. I am dying to know their backstory at the academy. The show better not skimp on this part and give us similar flashbacks as Jin Hong and Eun Mi. About mom and daughter, there’s so much to unravel and resolve about their complicated relationship. I’m glad Jin Hee finally let some of her hidden feelings known to Eun Mi and Jin Hong happens to hear it all. Their "family" story will be interesting as well.

    "Finally FINALE" are seriously the perfect words to send off this drama! Okay, I’m glad I ended up watching the last 2 episodes together. Without spoiling, the end of 15 is not what you would think happens. Personally, I really liked the scene between GW and his mother. Got emotional and teary-eyed when GW broke down in the hallway, but returns to reconcile with her. I don’t find her reason for leaving GW compelling at all, but it was consistent for good-hearted GW to forgive her. I mean, what is the point of living the rest of one’s life in resentment. At least the show was able to show maturity through GW and the importance to free ourselves from a painful past. I love GW’s nephew – kid is adorable and has a big heart just like GW. It was nice to see the evil sister’s icy heart melt away when her son comforted and hugged her after the fight with the husband. Thank goodness she finally comes around with some advice from GW and doesn’t send her son off to the U.S. anymore. A kid needs his mother. Even though the kid is mature, it is the adult who needs to be mature – not the other way around. From the start, the writing was mediocre (at best) and the overuse of dated tropes don’t work at all these days. Nevertheless, I do think GW and SR proved to be a very sweet couple who 100% supported each other. That is the highlight that I’ll take away from this drama. Glad it included a lovely wedding scene with everyone present including GW's mom and sister with her son. GW hugging his father was a nice moment. Everything else not worth mentioning here was just meh all the way. LOL. But all in all, I do think Jun Ho did a great job portraying GW. If not for him, I would not have stuck with this to the end. I really hope his next project will be much better than this one (writing-wise). Would love to see him in a detective role!
