  1. @Lodestar @Soju Great perspectives of the finale. I liked the ending as well. I thought it was fitting as the conclusion circled back to the origin of the story...Hyun Woo. (I think viewers who are up in arms about the ending forget that Do Jun was always Hyun Woo so to me, the end makes sense.) Before Do Jun died, he said to Min Yeong that he didn't want live like a conglomerate and clearly remembers why he was "reborn rich". So, I am happy Hyun Woo was able to return as himself, get justice for his self (plus Do Jun) and preserve the legacy of SY through Miracle for grandpa and the well-being of the employees.
  2. Ah, the first time I read the post, I didn't see the link to the shop below. Done! I noticed LSM costs 300 points while SJK is 600. Wow! I didn't have enough points to buy SJK, but looks like it is unavailable anyway. I really like it though. Great choice of him with the turtleneck sweater. My suspicion at the moment is Seong Jun or the girl cousin as well. (I think her name is Ye Jun?) I know she came back to Korea because of grandpa's death, but the timing could also be her relevance in the story at this point. We still don't know who's Hyun Woo's killer yet. Also, I believe it was said she's dedicated to charity/philanthropy work, but it happens to be in countries where it's easy to evade taxes. I wouldn't be surprised if she's aware of countries where it's easy to funnel slush money as well. About Lee Hang Jae, I think he betrayed Do Jun for selfish reasons. It would have benefited him if Do Jun chose to release the footage as he would at least maintain his position next to SY's new CEO. Since DO Jun chose not to, he decided to side with Seong Jun who promised her a higher position which he actually got betrayed in the end. Anyway, I'm sure Do Jun is keeping his guard up now. We will see what happens with slush fund. I agree the relevance of the slush fund is a lead to his killer. I don't think he's used it yet and hope he doesn't later. The preview does have him announcing to his uncle that he's the largest shareholder. I have no ideas how he'll do it which...is the fun part of this show. One more thing... Even though I'm indifferent about his romance with Min Yeong, she is another reason why I don't think he'll use the slush fund for his own personal gain. I can't see him disappointing her in the end. He may actually help her catch all those involved with the exchanges of these monies. -------- SJK posted this pic of him and LSM on his IG, with the caption "I love you 할아버지".
  3. I loved season 1 and also recommend giving it a try. Follow-up season 2s are always difficult to compare to season 1s, but I am hopeful for this one. I will eventually tune into it. Go Soo is so handsome. I am not a big fan of long hair on men, but it looks good on him.
  4. Guys, I really miss grandpa! My understanding is Manager Lee did embezzle money from an account that he oversaw for grandpa. Re: the slush fund from the Micro Project, I also understood that it belongs to grandpa as well. Since Manager Lee got betrayed and burned by Sung Joon, I can't imagine him wanting to continue to harm Do Jun at this point, but he would want to help him defeat the other family members. But...you're right, grandpa did say to trust no one. Do you guys think Do Jun will use the slush fund to acquire SY? I hope not. Instead, I would prefer that this gift from grandpa helps him solve who murdered him (Hyun Woo). Perhaps use it as bait to catch that person. I want to see Do Jun obtain SY through his own means and intelligence. Oh, I need to look into how to get this badge!
  5. I binged through all available episodes and must say this show is so good! I didn’t realize the story is based on a novel, so I made the mistake of opening spoilers in other comment platforms, but… it doesn’t matter to me who killed Hyun Woo or caused the car accident. From the beginning, the highlight is the building of Do Jun and grandpa’s “rivalry”/bond. I love grandpa’s stunned, yet touched, reaction whenever Do Jun sees through his vulnerability and understands him. It's also fascinating to see grandpa bend his old-fashioned rules because of the potential he realizes in Do Jun. I'm looking forward to see how the rest of their story pans out. Though Song Joong Ki is great, my favorite scenes were of grandpa with young Do Jun. Out of all the teen actors, Kim Kang Hoon was the perfect choice. I wouldn’t have minded seeing more of him. Kind of random and not the same kind of story nor characters, but grandpa’s aura and distinct dialect in his speech remind me a little bit of Marlon Brando and Al Pacino in the Godfather. Anyhow, Lee Sung Min is killing it as the patriarch.
  6. I'm totally late, but I finally got around to watching this which I surprising finished without fast forwarding. LOL. I agree plot-wise it was a bit disappointing as I thought the synopsis and trailer gave an impression that the story would be twisty in a good way, but it was super slow and difficult to grasp the direction of it. Perhaps it would have been better as a film? Nevertheless, I thought KYK and the actresses did a good job with the script given to them, especially the lead actress. It was interesting that he ended up (and was capable of) falling in love with her and I was curious to know what she would choose to do with him in the end. I cannot say it was good or bad, just okay.
  7. I didn’t care too much for episode 13, but 14 was good. I had a nagging feeling that Sung Hoon had to be involved and it’s shaping up that way. The clues throughout the show may not be red herrings after all. The revenge looks like it was in the making of 20 years. Sung Hoon’s indifference toward Sung Joon at the beginning of the story makes sense now. However, I do think he grew to care about Sung Joon and may have back paddled on some aspects of his plan. With Yoon Jae on one side and Sung Joon on the other, I am curious of his decisions in the last two episodes. I am getting tragic feels, but we’ll see…
  8. This show is a bit off its rockers, but it's good...never a dull moment. LOL. RSH is boy #11 which makes sense to me. I wasn't fully convinced that RSJ is boy #13 so if he's not, it's not a shocker to me. However, I'm surprised that boy #13 is supposedly dead. Let's see what the remaining episodes reveal to us. In Sung should be boy #12. The restaurant lady seemed to recognize him. Charles mentioned a missing brother who died. He could be a brother of boy #24. Here's my theory at the moment: I think RSH, In Sung and Charles knew each other all along and have been working together from the start. Their agreed goal was likely to reveal the shady truth about the center and expose those people connected to it. Not sure if killing was originally part of the plan, but it seems one/two of them (In Sung/Charles) have diverged from it and started killing more. For example, I don’t think RSH intended for boy #7 to die. Now, it looks like he's trying to stop Eun Ki from being the next victim. The Ryu brothers' parents were connected to the Hope Welfare Center, or least the mother is. Her and Baek know each other. We heard her calling for little RSJ when he met boy #13 in the cells. Perhaps she’s tied to the embezzlement case that RSH has in his hands? I think he may have a secret plan of seeking revenge against his adopted parents. The parents knew about center so it doesn't make sense that they would be excluded while the others who were connected to the center are part of it. This is bothering me too. It makes me wonder if there was an original plan to frame RSJ, but there is a change of heart now. - - - - - - Edited to add: Let's say RSJ isn't boy #13 and boy #13 isn't dead. Charles could be him. He's a sushi chef. The knife skills could tie into the earlier joker killings. It also happens to be a convenience that he opens up his restaurant to all the jurors. It could be part of the overall plan.
  9. I read an interesting theory elsewhere that is sort of in line with yours. This person thinks RSH is boy #11 and not the killer. He and boy #12 are biological brothers. RSH has been looking suspicious because at first, he thought RSJ might be the killer so he’s been secretly investigating him. However, at Kang’s daughter’s wedding, RSH learned that boy #12, his real younger brother, is the killer. RSH was seen crying in the bathroom because while he realizes RSJ is not the killer, he was devastated by the revelation that his real brother is and blames himself. Hence, why we see the self-inflicted slash marks on his arms. I can’t decide whether I want RSH to be the killer or not myself. I think it would be more impactful if he is, but also sad if he is. Since the jury was tampered, it keeps me believing that he should be involved in it. Someone please correct me if I’m wrong, but it looked like jury was determined by numbered balls that were hand-picked by him. So, hacking into the system from someone on the outside didn’t make sense to me. Also, I get the woodcarving by RSH in the first episode could be a red herring, but why must they keep showing it? Anyway, it hasn't been determined if RSH is adopted unless I missed something, but I think he is. I keep saying to myself that I won’t waste anymore brain cells analyzing this show, but here I am.
  10. I am enjoying the show, but my head spins after each episode. It reminds me a little bit of 365: Repeat the Year. Lots of red herrings, just about everyone appears suspect and mastermind/accomplice is disguised amongst the jurors. Okay… In the beginning, I wasn’t sure if RSJ is #13, then convinced he is and now I’m unsure again. When he got to the Hope Center, he started recalling some memories. A voice said, “You really do not remember anything? We had decided to escape. The one who betrayed us was #7.” It was #13 who knew that #7 told on them. So, are these words he said or are these words that #13 said to him? At the park, it looked like RSJ recalled falling from the slide as a boy. In the car, RSH asked him if he remembered what happened to him as a kid. RSJ’s memory loss seems to be related to this. Numbers 11, 12 and 13 and “help us” were written on the walls of the torture chambers. After the failed escape, I think they were captured and punished in there together. Between RSJ and RSH, I’m thinking they are #11 and #13. #12 could be Jung In Sung. Two of these boys are likely working together. I’m still suspecting RSH as the mastermind with maybe In Sung (juror with the glasses) as the accomplice. I am having a tough time connecting In Sung is #13/Yoon Jae. The Ryus’ mother didn’t exactly deny to Baek that Yoon Jae isn't her son. Also, if In Sung is Yoon Jae, why is the necklace with RSJ, not him? However, we’re only halfway. What else will be revealed?
  11. Wow, the romance does look twisted, but I'm sold.I bet Kim Young Kwang had to immerse himself in this role so I'm excited to see him in this. I'm already convinced by the actresses too.
  12. I’ve watched through episode 6. First, any logic in police/legal procedural, I’ve tossed out of the window. So many holes. I bet the identity of the Joker is right under our nose, but all the red herrings are serving as distractions, making almost everyone looking sus. I’m purely viewing this is as a thriller --- an addicting one. After some more thought and having seen the latest episodes, I’m leaning toward RSH as the Joker as well. Originally, I thought the wood carving was a red herring, but RSH seemed concerned whenever the Joker’s identity could be exposed, such as when Jung Man Chun claimed he saw the killer’s face and when RSJ said there was a recording of JMC’s conversation with the killer out there. Conveniently, it was gone from Baek’s house before RSJ got there. Only RSH and Eun Ki heard it --- unless Eun Ki could be suspect too. The Joker had given banana milk and bread to Chief Yeom’s grandson – same things Yeom had given to Boy #11 back then. It's possible RSH could be Boy #11. Not sure how the kids were able to make it out of the center, but maybe they didn't report the abuse after Boy #11's experience with Yeom. They might've lost hope and didn't feel the system could be trusted. It's hinted that RSJ and RSH's parents may have been involved with the center in past. Since they're in prosecution (or at least the dad), maybe they had something to do with it. ------ Choi Soon Gil’s killer is Boy #7. With the limping, I would’ve thought Choi’s killer would’ve been Boy #12 whose leg got caught in the bear claw instead. Since he’s not, who and where is he? In a conversation with Baek, Choi wondered if the killings could be a group effort. It’s something worth noodling over. Let’s say Ahn Tae Ho, the juror with the limp, is Boy #7. He may be the Joker’s target because he had tattled and told Baek about the planned escape. He seemed too much of a coward to partake in the group effort. However, maybe Boy #12 is part of it. Juror with the glasses or the chef?
  13. I watched episodes 1-4 back-to-back. Not sure if that was a good idea because the story is intense with lots of details so I’m still in processing mode. Trying to figure which kid is who and the link to the killer reminds me a bit of Mouse which I dropped halfway because the storyline got too gory and crazy for my liking. Hopefully, Blind won’t follow that route for me because I do think the mystery is interesting so far. Did anyone get scared at the shaman scene in episode 3? I did. LOL. Anyway, when she was supposedly possessed by one of the kids, I noticed that she referred to RSJ as “hyung”. In episode 4, it was revealed that RSJ is supposed to be Jung Yoon Jae. I thought JYJ is the youngest kid so why did the shaman refer to RSJ as the older brother if RSJ is supposed to JYJ? The shaman also told RSJ that he doesn’t know who he really is. This seems to insinuate that RSJ is suffering from memory loss. Maybe repressed from trauma at the Hope Welfare Center? I’m also debating if split personality is a possibility. Could RSJ be the oldest kid who took care of the other four, but he thinks he’s JYJ? In episode 3, RSJ and RSH’s parents were having a conversation about the past. The mom said whenever she saw “him”, she is reminded of “that place”. I assume this place is the Hope Welfare Center. If so, what is the parents’ connection to it? She also wondered if “he” could really forget what happened and if taking “him” in was the right decision. Since the shaman told RSJ that he doesn’t know who he really is and the mom wonders if “he” can forget the past, I am leaning toward RSJ was adopted by them. Compared to RSH, RSH is treated better so I think he should be their biological son. As far as my guess as who is the killer, I have no idea, but almost all signs point to RSJ. It’s just the woodcarving seen done by RSH that throws me off. The killer has wood-carved statues with the pictures of the jurors’ faces on it. Hmmm… I skimmed through the previous posts. I’ll need to come back to back-read when I have more time and comment further.
  14. @Chocolate @abs-oluteM I agree with everything that you both said about CNN as a villain and her demise. She should've been more wise about being tapped as this tactic was originally devised by her self, but she was quickly losing her wits so at the same time, I wasn't surprised by this major misstep by her. I kind of liked that CSW thought of this way to catch her and gave her a taste of her own medicine. (By the way, Choi Dae Hoon was excellent in ep 16. I enjoyed the last episode partly because of him.) Some things I wasn't impressed with were --- I thought CNN's reason for fatally striking JHJ was weak. She got emotionally enraged because JHJ wished her happiness with WTH? I understand CNN had gone mad at this point, but the yelling and screaming was too much for me. However, I do think there's more to the show than the crime solving. I liked how it incorporated the detectives' compassion to the victims and their loved ones. Eun Hye and grandpa were a delight in season 2. I was touched when KDC said that it was JHJ and grandpa who made him want to solve this case. We saw tears roll down grandpa's face when he heard the real culprit was finally caught. It seemed he also knew that Eun Hye and KDC were wearing the shoes that he gifted to them. Although we didn't get to see it, I believe this all meant that he was going to wake up from his coma. Same. Although no official announcement, I am expecting there will be a season 3. LOL. If JSJ enjoyed the filming season 2 more because he got to be with the team, I assume the rest of the team did as well. This seems like a good sign for a potential season 3 if everyone is up for it. I'm going to miss them too! OMG...I had exactly the same thoughts about Yoon Sang Mi. I ship her with KDC. Maybe season 3? LOL. But yes, the scene of KDC abruptly pausing his date for his work (again) was hilarious. Hahaha. I've taken notice of this too, but JSJ is still so handsome! (I'm going to watch Blind next.)
  15. Thanks! @abs-oluteM I was wondering what to watch next. I do like Taecyeon and the plot sounds interesting so I will definitely check it out.
  16. I watched 14 & 15 together. 15 was pretty good. Poor grandpa. So sad what they did to him. Thank goodness he has Eun Hye and KDC by his side and rooting for his recovery. I got teary-eyed when KDC broke down. Eun Hye truly regards grandpa as a loved one. Their friendship has got to be one of the best parts of season 2. I liked how the story incorporated Eun Hye’s drawing skills as part of the investigation. That was cool. Is there such a thing as crime scene sketching as a profession? She would be perfect for it. OJH is so smart. He knew how to convince CNN’s father to aid in their investigation. Although a bit questionable, I get it. Perhaps I liked ep 15 because the end scenes provided more color of what happened between WTH and CNN before the car accident. If WTH was truly planning to take the fall for JHJ’s murder in exchange for CNN’s forgiveness, the moment he knew his wife was going to kill him must’ve been so heartbreaking for him. I completely agree with what you said about CNN as a villain and her motives above. All started to fall flat with the last couple episodes. With the finale, I am curious to know what lead CNN to kill JHJ, but I'm not expecting to be wowed by the ending.
  17. Just saw subbed episode 14 is up now! I think Chocolate's theory that the subber working weekdays may be why the Sunday episode isn't available until the following weekend. Same! I happily tuned in for our duo and squad so I'd look forward to a season 3 (if there is one). If WTH wasn't killed off or at least not so early in this story, I think it have been more intriguing with his many layers. The plot as it is would've been more suitable with 12 episodes versus 16.
  18. I’ve watched up to episode 13 and do enjoy it. It’s clear they’ve heavily invested in the quality of the martial arts scenes. 40 episodes do worry me though and I know political agendas will get pulled into the plot. However, if the heart of wuxia continues to be the primary highlight --- especially in overriding evil, should be fine. In terms of the romance, from what I know and have seen of the trailers, I’m expecting it to be on the heart-wrenching side for the 3 leads, but I’m here for the storytelling in how each one of them approaches love, friendship, and oath. So far, I like how it has developed Ziyi’s point of view and her deep bond with HF. The 9999 steps! My only gripe are the villains. All are such sleazy slimeballs! Thankfully, the leads do meet good people along their journey. Ziyi’s newfound senior, Liu Hezhen of Weituo Sect, is a humble and respectable man. He handled the election of the new leader with such poise. I see a lot of love for MRF/Lin Yu Shen which all is well deserved.
  19. LOL. It looks like we may need to wait for ep 14. I had a good chuckle at this part. Only OJH knew that the bickering was a positive thing. LOL. I agree...I think OJH always knew WTH's death was murder, but his hands are tied without evidence. I won't spoil too much about ep 13, but some of the forensic results from the car accident supports OJH's suspicion and it looks like his team believes it's worth investigating it. Same. I was heartbroken when CNN killed WTH. Too cruel. Seems like she's panicking and starting to lose her grip on everything. As part of her demise, I hope she learns the truth that there was no real affair and feels immense regret for what she did to her husband.
  20. Not sure what happened with ep 12, but English subs for ep 13 decided to show up on time. Will try to watch it tomorrow. Fingers crossed for the rest of the episodes. LOL. Prosecutor Cha's struggle in his decision-making was indeed comedic with all the emotional outbursts and also well done. He had the "devil" CYG tempting him on one side of his shoulders and "angel" KDC tugging at his conscience on the other. Ultimately, he took the right path for his kids. Same --- I look forward to seeing him resetting the proper convictions for CSW. Just when CNN believes that she has everything in her grip, it's about to unclasp...finally! Oh my...the idea of OJH pairing up with Bo Kyung never crossed my mind. LOL. It seems she started to like Detective Kwon which their pairing would be more fitting. I enjoy the psychological banter between OJH and CNN, but not as anything more. Like you said, she is way too evil. I liked his chemistry with Lee Elijah from season one. Would've been nice if the story addressed whatever happened to her. Oh well.
  21. @bai We don't know each other, but I can tell from your friends' words here that you were a talented and beautiful person. I hope you are free from all sufferings now and have reunited with your loved ones.
  22. I have the same takeaway as you. Yes, WTH knew in that moment of the unbuckling of the seat belt. Ugh, so sad. This is my guess --- Based on CSW's conversation with JHJ, it did sound like she was originally supposed to be a spy on WTH for him. As she got to know WTH, she likely sympathized for him and back-peddled on CSW. I don't know why CNN gave the laptop to CYG either. That part was weird. (Speaking of the laptop, if CNN would’ve let JHJ explain herself about her relationship with WTH, would she not have misunderstood WTH?) I think CNN gave CYG money in exchange for his help to cover up JHJ's murder.
  23. You all are funny. I might be the only one who doesn't mind pigtails. LOL. There were prior drama adaptations of this story, but they're super dated - 1991 and 2006. The 2006 one under the name Fox Volant of the Snowy Mountain was unique in that it adapted the both prequel and sequel of the novels together in one story. I would say the Condor Heroes trilogy --- Legend of the Condor Heroes, Return of the Condor Heroes and Heavenly Sword and Dragon Slaying Sabre.
  24. There are 2 novels to this story --- The Young Flying Fox (which is the prequel) and Fox Volant of the Snowy Mountain (the sequel). This drama is actually based on the former/the prequel so I don't think Miao Renfeng's daughter will be in this one. Hu Fei's romance will be centered between Cheng Lingsu and Yuan Ziyi. But yes, in the sequel, your understanding about Hu Fei and the daughter is right. Here is a trailer on the romance aspect of the story:
