  1. Episode 13 Cuts - BaekHong's Daily Love-Love Scene

From what I gather, the family moved back to their Queens residence, but Hae In wanted to stay with Hyun Woo. Hyun Woo, too, asked the in-law for permission. The newly reconciled couple finally "move out" from Queens. Yay!!! The couple scenes make me nervous, to be honest 😅

    Spoiler

Hae In tells Hyun Woo the MP3 player is hers and wore the ring.

:lmao2: Hyun Woo is sooooooo slow~

Hae In tells him he is her first love and he's still so blur-blur...

I finish the episode and look forward to ep2. The coming together of the team seems promising. But does the corruption feel even more overt in this era? I am used to corruption in every police drama but here the gangs run the show and the cops seem so powerless.

Yeah, not sure if it's a realistic depiction of that era. I, too, don't think I've seen a drama/movie from this time period. It's almost always the Japanese occupation era, or the 80s during the Dictatorial times.

Hahah...I only remember her sad story in Missing The Other Side. I felt so much regret for her character's fate and love story with the detective there. I guess you are remembering her from Duel?

I remember her in Dr. Romantic, Duel, Top Management, 100 Million Stars in the Sky, and Unlock My Boss. I couldn't get into her romance with Chae Jong Hyeop. Her acting isn't very strong either.

  4. @abs-oluteM Apparently, the present day actor, Choi Bul Am, who played Haraboji Park Yeong Han is the OG! That's kinda cool.

Maybe there will be a bit of romance with Seo Eun Soo, but I'm not fond of her in the sense that I didn't find her good with anyone in romance. 😅

I didn't get Kim Do Ki's vibe. My first thought is, Lee Je Hoon can still pass himself off as playing a rather young character with the right hairstyle. LOLLLL

  5. The beginning is kind of cute and heartwarming. In the present, we see an old man leaving his rather rundown lodging, walking across the market in the morning, picking up rice cakes and arriving at the police station. All the policemen greeted him with respect. It's a given that he must be the main character Lee Je Hoon played. The subtitles noted he is "Yeong Han". Soon enough, cut to a young Lee Je Hoon greeting him as Haraboji. Aw, his grandson looks exactly like him. How cute. Grandson loves rice cakes too.

Well, at least we don't need to worry our protagonist, Park Yeong Han, will die since we are assured he lives till the present time. Heh.

Back to 1958, Yeong Han was a diligent and upright police in Gyeonggi-do. He was then sent to Seoul HQ (I think). There he met the Chief and Kim Sang Soon (Lee Dong Hwi). At the time, Seoul's police were super corrupted (what's new?), and are in cahoot with the gangsters. We can tell Yeong Han is extremely witty based on how he arrested the Viper gang's head. But he's outnumbered and hands are tied when the higher-up let the baddies loose. In the next episode, Yeong Han will recruit two more guys to join him.

Knetizens commented that Lee Je Hoon's acting was great, but they said he looked too modern. I don't know, I think it's the hairstyle, even though I love this hair more than in the Taxi Driver.

Whilst watching this drama, I also thought to myself that I have not seen Lee Je Hoon in a romance drama since Tomorrow, With You. When is he going to take up a romance again?

  6. @abs-oluteM Cultivating human organs inside pigs sound scary. I can't help but imagine one day we would see what happened in the movie when a mad scientist decided to play God and create some kind of genetically modified human/animal hybrid. Worse of all, what if genetic mutation happen and this new species become something so lethal that is the end of Earth?

Then again, maybe I won't be around to see this. I guess we should worry about WW3 at the moment, huh? I honestly cannot imagine us living in the era of WW3 and having no Kdramas to watch. 😅

  7. The main page mentioned this is a 16-episodes drama. I'm on episode 4 at the moment, the pacing is slow, and each episode is very long. I'm struggling.

Also, before I picked episode 2 back up again, I saw a cut of Yoo Yoon Young forcing her kiss on Seol Woo Jae, so I knew I was spoiled the moment I saw Jung Won consulted in her. I also didn't suspect Woo Jae as the killer because Yoo Yoon Young seem obsessed with Woo Jae enough to kill Cha Eun Sae.

At the moment I'm interested to know who Zeus is? Is he a friend or foe?

    So how did LOTBS end?

I told you the ending above.

He was an alien. So we need to give the writer some license to cook up a story haha. I wasn't paying much attention too. At that time, I was also thinking he stayed on earth for hundreds of years and suddenly he no longer could...

That means you are FF-ing the scenes and missed the explanation. LOL

I read on twitter that KSH likes young girls. Any truth or is that just antis?

Didn't this only arise from the scandal with Kim Sae Ron where she deliberately posted a face-sticking-face pic of herself and Soo Hyun on her IG story and then delete it? And there was news article where he said he'll marry someone much younger, but never seen the video, so might be taken out of context or joking (link). There had been no sightings or report of him dating anyone, so it's all speculations.

That said, who doesn't like younger girls/boys? Hahahaha! My Oppa is getting younger as each year passes.

I'm rewatching One Ordinary Day, but it is too heavy, hard to continue.

He was travelling to Switzerland legally, representing NK. If he got a longer term job teaching in Switzerland with agreement from NK, it means he would be able to stay longer than just the 2 weeks. So they can have a family. Much like those families where one spouse travels or is based overseas for work.

If he leaves NK permanently and illegally, he would be a SK citizen in no time. Yoon Seri is RICH!

Wasn't there speculation that she was actually pregnant at the end? It was just never confirmed. Hmm, kinda don't think Ri Jeong Hyuk would disgrace his family (even though deceased) by defecting to SK. But then again, I am not into CLOY very much, so the effort spent on drama and characters details are not meticulous.

I found it so boring I dropped it after 2 or 3 episodes. BUT, that was in the beginning of my k-drama journey when I didn't know how big shot the 2 leads were so I didn't PERSEVERE. But then again, that should be the most unbias assessment of a drama isn't it.

😂 Try saying that to Minoz. 😂

    52 minutes ago, Chocolate said:

No lah. I'm not so petty. It's just that, although I do cry at all the sad and touching scenes, strangely I really don't have much feelings for this couple. So whatever the ending is, is fine with me.

Ooooh. So you have no feel for the couple. That means the ship won't sail. Imma not ready for Oppa to start a family, yet.

    52 minutes ago, Chocolate said:

With CLOY, I kept thinking it was impossible for them to be together. Because RJH would never leave his parents in NK at the mercy of the government just for his own happiness. The Switzerland solution was thus a pleasant surprise and I was happy with it. It was not far-fetched. Same with MLFAS.

How is MLFTS not far-fetched? Until now, that is the most unsatisfying part of the drama for me. LOL. Felt like she just made up a wormhole without giving us a good explanation, like any other Kdrama's fantasies. Sigh.

Hahaha, by that logic, CLOY is also full fledge happy ending because Ri Jeong Hyeok would have found a way to teach permanently in Switzerland or he would not return to NK once his parents pass away. That seems more likely than figuring out the physics of a wormhole lol.

Girl, isn't leaving North Korea without permission still consider as illegal?

How did LOTBS end happily? Did she become a full human? How?

😏 I had thought you'd have jumped to the ending to take a peek? They move to live in the regional area close to the sea. She also receives love from the man she fell for, so she won't die.

    59 minutes ago, Chocolate said:

I think Hae In is unlikely to die. But living with periodic memory loss - how can that be a happy ending. At most it falls under LDR - a not here not there type of ending haha.

How about Hyun Woo has to make some sort of sacrifice or leave the family so that Hae In could recover? 😈

    Alamak, this girl. 🤦🏻‍♀️😅

@ktcjdrama Can you please whip Chocolate with your words, like you did with uri Tea above? 😆 When I read your response I was having the image of Hae In (you) smacking her brother (Tea), except you did it with texts. 😂

@Chocolate Why are you so eager for Queen to be LDR? Is it because CLOY is LDR, too? Your CLOY couple got their full fledge happy ending in real life. So, let Queen couple have their FFHE on-screen (since I don't ship real life).

Just the highlighted part right? It means "full of vigor"  He was at the edge already. If he didn't carry IS out, he would no longer be able to hold himself back.

Not just the highlighted part. You know what? I use Copilot to translate for me, and it's actually pretty good! Take a look in previous page.

Did they mean for this to be an epilogue but forgot to put it in?

Or is this some kind of new format/strategy, find some easter egg at tvN youtube channel, so people will not just watch the episodes over at the dark side?

Probably because the drama is gaining popularity, so to maintain it, they release them. Wish they would promote Queen more and like this, too. 😤

So funny. Came across a comment about this clip. Need your help to translate this. Papago did a bad job 😅

    Spoiler

Seeing Sun Jae sweating profusely reminded me of something. That night, Sun Jae asked Sol to keep her distance from him. I feel it’s because he’s a young man in the prime of his youth, and being in the same room with the girl he has a crush on, he really couldn’t control himself. Later, when Sol was catching mosquitoes, he grabbed her wrist, and at that moment, he almost lost control. In order not to force his love, he carried Sol downstairs. That part really was full of sexual tension.

  13. The pacing is not bad, quite fast in revealing who is behind the ransomware.

I think there are multiple villains in this drama. The ex-President, his grandson who turns out to be the Prime Minister and his father are all up to no good. I find the Prime Minister's father (who is a former son-in-law of the President) very suspicious. The actor himself has played many villain roles, so it's hard not to suspect he could be behind the bombing.

LOL at when it was revealed human experiments were involved, since they can't do animal testing. Hence, the reason why they are so secretive. The person experimented on was Professor Kim's sick wife. Research Director On had an argument with Ja Yu on agreeing with the experiment, which led me to believe that could be why he worked in the morgue for 3 years because he needed to experiment on humans. There was also a flashback of Yoon Ja Yu having a seizure in a hospital bed. The flashback happened really quick, so I cannot confirm who the other woman was standing beside the bed. I hope Ja Yu doesn't have a twin sister, and assuming she regained her health. This suggests whatever experiment it was, it was successful. Perhaps this is what the ex-President was looking for. So herein, I make a speculation/prediction: since BF has the technology to "manufacture" meat, who is to say BF can't manufacture a pair of legs for the ex-President?

It also appears BF has other technologies that outsiders do not know about. They have a very good AI system which can track all the employees, down to their financial accounts.
