  1. Welcome to my Dream Taebin Photoshoot: Part 2 You're all free to save them and use them. If possible to credit, please credit: These Dramatic Days (which is the name of all the things I do relating to my dramas - Youtube subbing, podcast, blog etc etc). Haha, prepare for more matching KTO & PEB photos ...and I even name my photoshoots LOL You can see the matching pastel photos (Part 1) by scrolling up this thread! Scent of Spring (Monochrome) Monochrome is a mood
  2. Hahaha, I'm glad people are liking it and it's getting quite a few retweets so it must be comforting to some fans I've got to put up today's batch in a minute. I saw people who didn't like EAW or LJH as having 2 main opinions: 1) Those who thought Jun Ho wasn't a deep character/ unrealistic and 2) those who thought the role was too easy to play. And while I kind of can see why people might think that Jun Ho wasn't 'deep' because he didn't have an explicit backstory, I also think those people have it wrong - not every character in a drama needs to have some massive trauma to be considered having a backstory. Maybe I'm somewhat privileged, but most people I know seem to have a number of small happy and sad things happen to them. So I think Jun Ho actually does represent a lot of average people and actually, it's the other way around that male leads who are rich CEOS and had super abusive parents are less relatable for most average people, if you ask me! Totally agree with how nuanced the role actually was! I think a lot of actors would agree that the flatter and more loveable a character is the harder it is to play. I remember reading an interview with the actor James McAvoy where he said it's really hard to play a romantic hero because the director keeps telling you to look hot and he said he struggled to think of how best to make expressions people would think were hot And you can really see that Kang Tae Oh sometimes had this as well - like in the office scene where he had to be super charismatic and hi five everyone since he's so popular...in the behind the scenes you could see KTO struggle not to make it awkward especially since he didn't really know the people he as hi-fiving Also he had to do so many micro-expressions regarding his complicated feelings for WYW because JH really liked her, but also knew it was going to be a challenging path, he also had to balance feelings like consideration, confusion, empathy, disappointment, hurt, desire, desperation, contentment - often several feelings at once or close together. It's amazing that KTO was able to do this without over acting. Also agree with your other comment - KTO has worked very hard for his success. And I think those who said he was milking it don't understand that actually the media are the ones who are wanting him to play his character over and over again because the public love it so much. It's less him than it is the public who are asking for KTO in Korea (and internationally). Oh well, I guess when something is popular, there's always going to be haters who just want to find something to hate for no good reason Ah, better late than never! And even though it's terribly sad he has to go to the military, he will be back and hopefully have a successful post military career like Lee Je Hoon does now. I've been watching KTO for at least 5 years? I always thought he was cute and liked his roles, but nothing has stuck this deeply till now! I agree with you - I think he's worked so hard to make this character what it is - even researching how to make scenes flow better and look more aesthetic and believable like the body press/hug scene. I also agree - while I enjoyed TKA and I like RW as an actor in his own right, I didn't feel the RW & PEB chemistry. I actually had second lead syndome the entire time with Nam Yoon Su's character Oooh if you like podcasts, I also have a podcast on EAW...I'm making a second episode now like a month after EAW has ended and it will talk about Taebin as well as the drama itself. But the first episode is here. A lot of things I said about Jun Ho's character were later confirmed by KTO in his interviews which I'm happy about Haha, I don't think I'm as funny as your other podcast probably is, but I like to talk a lot Also dropping more photoshoot pics tooday! Yay! Please do share your reviews and thoughts especially since yoou sound like you know what you're doing in reading people Hahaha, can't believe people are seeing fortune teller for PEB and KTO Oooh, what did you need help on? Was it about dropping a link on this page - you just need to paste the entire link down and it should appear as far as I know for twitter and youtube. Thanks for sharing the links to the scriptbook content! I've seen it floating around on Twitter and it's been so nice to read WYW and JH's thoughts and see the scenes through their minds and feelings and intentions
  3. I think so! I tend to think of gazing as that type of really slow, deep look that someone gives - sometimes full of love, sometimes just checking someone out I'll tell you what I hate translating: 放电 Honestly, people say it's chemistry or enticing someone...and I guess I translate it like that when I have to...but like it's has a more poetic or visual expression in Chinese than English that's for sure. And it makes sense! 4 is a lot! Hahahaha, I've lost track of how many I have but I think it's less than 4. I can't even count KTO since he was technically adopted already...but just bumped up massively from eye candy to VERY important in my life I've got to go back and see what I watched this year Hahaha omg. I also adopted him and forgot Is he so forgetable? Well, only eye candy for me, so he has to work harder I mean, has he been in anything lately? There's still 3 months @SilverMoonTea...still time to work harder and adopt more Aw Nam Yoon Su! I have a confession: While I really like him as an actor, I can't stand his photoshoots. He wears the weirdest clothes in modelling Hahahaha. You like the guy or the uniform? I will check out his dramas going forwards and not backwards! Amen to this
  4. So I'm still subbing because that takes me awhile, but I thought I would giive you guys present Number #1...Taebin Photoshoot We never got a photoshoot and who knows if we ever will So I made my own I'm sure everyone has played the matchy matchy game with PEB & KTO's photos, but I don't think I've seen them compiled all together anywhere, so I thought I'd do it here...I have like 50 photos so sorry it's it's a bit hevy on your computers! I'll try to post them in batches...I even gave themes/ names for photoshoots i find the photos match well if 2 or more elements are matching (eg. direction they're looking, backgrounds, same clothes, same colours). You're all free to save them and use them. If possible to credit, please credit: These Dramatic Days (which is the name of all the things I do relating to my dramas - Youtube subbing, podcast, blog etc etc) Welcome to my Dream Taebin Photoshoot: Part 1 Pretty in Pastel Scent of Spring
  5. Yep, totally happy for you to share all things PEB, KTO, Woo Young Woo, Jun Ho and EAW here - twitter links are great because it's easy Also, so sorry - I should have explained that you have to host your images on an image hosting site (I use imgur: https://imgur.com/) and then copy the link to post on a forum and then remove the start and end brackets that say img so the picture shows. It took me awhile to figure it out when I first joinned forums! But you can also drop weibo links like you have - if anyone wants to see those links, they don't be able to click into it, they'll just have to copy and paste it into the address bar in a new window to see the picture on weibo. That's how I've been seeing your pictures all this time Aw, thanks! Hahaha, I've been subbing, photoshopping and podcasting - working so hard for Taebin I will drop my first little project tonight (not a sub but something fun) Thanks for sharing all these @taebinfan! I didn't realise that artist had drawn a new picture - it's very pretty!!! And I also never noticed PEB copied KTO. That's so cute Hahahaha, I also created my twitter account just for dramas...but it's kind of nice since Twitter seems to be the fastest source for news, I find! I'm glad you're invested too! I definitely am as well so at least we have each other to share news wiith! I definitely feel like a lot of photos were held back by Astory and ENA, as well as BTS footage! Give me everything now
  6. Hello @innrukia Welcome to the thread! So lovely of you to join us! Yes please spend all the time you'd like gushing about PEB and KTO and I totally agree that EAW has been one of the best dramas I've seen. Definitely my favourite drama for this year. I'm also glad they didn't tank the ending...I think episode 13 was not great, but the pacing picked up again after that and the last episode was really good - You're totally right about Kdrama endings - When I first started watching Kdramas years ago I use to be sooo frustrated at drama endings because so many ended so badly with unneeded time jumps, main characters disappearing, makjang events like car crashes or memory loss in the last episode etc etc. It still happens from time to time, but the good dramas know how to fix things before the end - I'm sooo glad EAW is a good drama that gave us a happy ending! So true! It's been such a long time coming for Kang Tae Oh - I've been watching him since My First First Love and he's played so many different roles and done well in them, but never made it to first lead before (for a long-ish drama). I'm so glad they picked him for this role as it gave him the chance to shine and show how nuanced his acting was. Some people say his role wasn't hard, but I think it's actually pretty difficult to give life to a character that is meant to be 'well-liked', especially when they don't have a big back story but are meant to support the main character. As for PEB, she has always talented for sure! She's been one of my favourites since the first time I saw her in a drama many years ago. I think she's so talented at understanding all her characters and the struggles they face and she chooses great projects with very different characters! Their chemistry was so good between them I really hope they do act in another drama because it would be fantastic to see them take on different roles and perhaps they would be able to act more comfortably promoting a drama if it was a rom-com or something like that. But I agree, there was something very natural about the way the 2 of them acted around each other, not an act for cameras or publicity. Hahaha, I don't think people consider me a big shipper in the conventional sense either, since for me, it's less important about whether they're actually together or not, as it is to see them play around and have fun and a good genuine friendship. But I guess 'Shipping' can include all types of love for the 2 actors and so this is what the thread is for , Whether you want to search for clues that PEB & KTO have some stronger feelings for each other, or whether you just like the characters in EAW and appreciate 2 actors who are good at their on-screen chemistry...all are welcome
  7. Yeahhhh, I'm still stuck on the same Oppas too. I'm liking the lead from Once Upon a Small Town too, Abs! He is cute! Not sure if adopted just yet....maybe on the eye candy tier. I think he's pretty, but I'm not digging around to find out more But he's definitely on the radar now. Hahaha, I'm glad I have taught you something yeah, that gazeeee I mean every time he looks at the FL, I melt a little Hahahaha, I may have subconciously thought that But I think it's just from romance novel language: "...She blushed when she felt his gaze upon her..." I actually don't even read that many romance novels, but they always speak like this about their gazes. @mademoiselle what's wrong with Joy? Just idol level acting? I think she's really cute in this series. The character works for her!
  8. Hahaha a few crumbs to keep you all alive while I'm still working on projects Same shoes apparently This is the characters - Jun Ho is such a dreamboat. Even when he was hurting, he was still thinking of Woo Young Woo, confirmed by fans who translated the scriptbook I always wondered why people wanted the scriptbooks, but I guess they want the character's perspectives. This is one of Young woos thoughts:
  9. Sorry everyone! All my Taebin projects are still taking time. However, I'll let you know when I post...or just come and stalk here. I'll definitely have some stuff when Kang Tae Oh's enlistment day. That's my deadline at the moment for some stuff In the meantime I thought some of you could relate, especially @Kismet_06200904
  10. Hahaha, I have not forgotten this thread or gotten over Taebin, but I've just been working on some Taebin projects which you'll all like! I think I'll start to post some of them later tonight. Also some hardcore shippers have pointed out that KTO looks like he has his arms oustretched behind PEB. I think it's technically the chair behind hers, but he does look kind awkward when the camera pans over like he was caught doing something. Taebin shipper are looking hard for the crumbs... I'm just going to leave this here and let people decide what they want It's in the last behind the scenes which has less KTO & PEB sccenes Hahaha I was wondering when people would latch onto the other kissing scenes that the original video did not include! People really want to see everything that happened between them
  11. Yeah they're both awesome actors in their own rights and they just had such nice chemistry together! I also agree - I feel like any extra off screen chemistry is rare but lovely and I guess I try to appreciate it instead of look for the negatives. Oook nice comparison video @taebinfan Also this is for you @abs-oluteM - looks like someone made another angsty KTO x PEB sageuk edit No subs, but I think they're speaking slow enough for auto-translate to work
  12. @Kismet_06200904 This will cheer you up ~ Just thought I'd let you know that I'm going to sub the scenes in that ep 1-2 commentary where PEB and KTO commentate on their scenes together or interacte more with each other. But I probably won't sub anything with Kang Ki Young, even though I really like him...since 18 mins would take me forever! It'll probably take me at least a week or so though even if it's a few minutes. But I'll tag you when I'm done Athough I don't really ship in a conventional way, I totally understand your feelings It's always hard when they don't do a couple photoshoot or interview. If only there was a drama magazine which meant that each drama pair had to do a photoshoot together. I'm sure that magazine would be soo popular! As for their not being as much as their previous projects, it's unfortunate that EAW isn't classified as a romance technically, given that there was such a strong romance line. It means the actors don't really promote in that way. And I think they were careful with the self promoting due the the sensitivities of the drama topic. Still, I love watching the behind the scenes and their Swoon content because it's quite cute. It cheers me up to know they had fun together and I know the camera didn't show everything, but hoping there's more behind the scenes in the bluray, especially gven that they didn't release a lot of footage for scenes like the other kiss or any of the office romances. Hahaha I think many Korean + international fans still feel the same as you too since I keep finding Korean fan art and edits and people saying they wish there was a photoshoot. I think you'll like this one, especially as the drawing skills are so good: Credit to this artist: https://www.instagram.com/p/CiUY8srMT8s/ There's also fan fics or funny fictional scenarios that they make up with KTO & PEB like this
  13. Hahaha, are you still watching this @SilverMoonTea? I'm finally watching this! But slowly It's my train drama (the one I watch when I catch the train home after work). I'm only up to episode 4. There's something very calming about the series and there's inspirational moments here and there, but I can see why the drama hasn't been doing really well. I think the pacing is a bit too slow (even for a slice of life) and the stakes/ consequences when something happens isn't great enough to get people curious I do like both the rookies- Nam Yoon Su is interesting because he's so uninterested and self serving at first, but at episode 4, there's some character development. Kim Sejeong is also likeable although sometimes her actions do make me shake my head - like when she told the webtoon guy to read his comments. Me = famous people should never read the comments! Too many haters! I feel like the webtoon artists are quite flat though. Like Pomme. They could have been more complex? Developed? The guy that they pick for the webtoon camp has a really creepy webtoon though - I don't like that style All in all, I don't mind this series, but I just feel like it's not super exciting. I'm sticking it out for Kim Sejeong and Nam Yoon Su though since I like them both!
  14. @mademoiselle I feel like IU is one of the people that everyone seems to put into their dream pairings People also seem to do with with everyone who has played a fantasy character - Everyone says a Goo Yoo x IU pairing since they've both played cursed immortal beings with be fun. But also I'm also seeing LJW fans posting this since AoS
  15. I started watching this yestersday and I'm really enjoying it. The male lead is pretty cute...maybe I'll come to adopt him. Still stuck on KTO probably at least till he goes to the army...But actually both leads are cute in this drama...and I really love small town vibes when the townspeople are close! I wouldn't mind this couple too! Hahaha in that first gif, I totally thought it was Jasper. My boy has been in China so long but not doing super great projects that even his most obsessed long term English speaking fans (whose love pre-dates mine) have stopped blogging/ tweeting about him Hahaha I don't know if the vet looks like SKJ that much but both are good looking in their own way.
  16. Thank you Hahaha I also laughed when they put that forlorn caption next to Jun Ho Thanks @twink_twink_ and @taebinfan for the content above about KTO's childhood pics and for those interview translations from Twitter. I had already read them beforehand but just rereading them, I thought what Kang Tae oh said about Park Eun Bin was so sweet Also wanted to share that the child actor from Extraordinary Woo Young Woo also said that PEB and KTO's acting was so good and their romance was extremely convincing. And she got to see them in real life, sooo... In her words: “you know, about peb unnie liking lee junho oppa – the act of ‘liking someone’ was so realistic that it felt as tho she liked him. no way she actually likes him (irl), right?” And then KTO's agency Man of Creation recently released the HD pics of him on the beach and some people made this: Hahaha Thanks @Kismet_06200904 for sharing those Kang Tae Oh Happy together videos ~ I haven't watched them before. I'll watch them later and when I find the part you were looking for @taebinfan I'll tell you what the joke was that KTO was making Oooh totally fine to share all Taebin stuff here Thanks for those links! Hahaha some of those fans are deep in the ships on Weibo, I see! Also that video where they did the exclusion on the darkness to brighten the video was hottt
  17. I did some research these past few days and I think they did have separate behind the scenes video with slightly different content for the first 2 weeks (first 4 episodes) but then they stopped. Maybe with the popularity of the show hitting early, they decided it was a lot of work to make double the behind the scenes and they decided to give the work competely to ASTORY, which meant only one set of behind the scenes video were made after that. I haven't really found any Korean social media that shows any other videos either, so I think pretty likely this is all there is It looks like others already subbed the different videos for weeks 1-2. I like Ruevy Lee's subs (last 2 videos) since she does the font matching like me I'm sure everyone's already seen everything, but here they are if you guys want to rewatch:
  18. JenL

    Goodbye to Bai

I will miss you @bai We had a few good chats about shows and life and although I didn't know you as much as the others, I always thought you were the warmest person - someone who had such a friendly and cheerful disposition when you were going through such tough times. I was always impressed with your ability to be resilient and it inspired me when I was going through my own things. I was also really impressed by your graphic design skills and I'll miss seeing your dream pairing immortalised in the pretty Dilreba x Yang Yang graphics that use to flood my Twitter. Although you deserved many more days on this Earth, it seems fitting that Yang Yang's birthday would be the date you would embark on new adventures Rest well and peacefully, my friend. Thanks for your company in the short time we knew each other
  19. Yeah, I suspected as much. For a number of countries, ENA blocked or removed most of their stuff so there's only little bits and pieces from people with VPNs or saved the stuff early on
  20. I'm kind of thiking of trying this out! What genre would you say it is? Slice of life? I heard it was based on a comic or webtoon. We'll see how I go. I'm in lazy mode recently - only slowly watching Today's webtoon and Little Women atm
  21. Finally I have finished this subbing @abs-oluteM @Yunn @taebinfan @Unnie0110 @buguz @cico @Kismet_06200904 It's literally only 2 mins LOL but I had a busy week and I'm fussy about fonts and timings A huge Thank you to @stroppyse for checking the Korean. What an angel Oh and for comparison, this is the behind the scenes video from ASTORY for episodes 3-4 and it definitely didn't have these scenes above...weird right? I've included a subbed version someone else did for the main video below
  22. Haha that video is so funny! Thanks so much for sharing @taebinfan Oh right, in case you were wondering, I was done subbing that behind the scenes video, but then a found another few seconds of another scene that was not included entirely in the AStory behind the Scenes video again! It's so weird that they cut their behind the scenes down when there was more content. I'm wondering how this fan found the content. I'm guess they had a Korean VPN and it could have been initaially posted by ENA since they've now blocked or privated a lot of their WYW content Anyway I'll add the new scenes in as well, but I just need to check something before I finish. Sorry to summon you once again @stroppyse, but just wanted to check one line in the picture below: does it says 'harmless behind the scenes'? I'm confused at the words
  23. Nah, I don't think this is the sentiment I'm seeing with Western and Korean fans on social media including Twitter, Reddit and Instagram. Most people know that PEB is careful with her image and that WYW is a drama with sensitivities because the character has autism. Also once a drama ends actors are often not under scrutiny or obligation to talk about their last drama, characters or co-stars anymore. In fact, on twitter lots of fans have been pleasantly surprised PEB said she missed all the cast of EAW in some of her recent interviews (since that includes KTO) I don't think there'll be any negative comments or embarrassing situations about KTO due to anything PEB says or does. The only reason KTO talks so much about Jun Ho and Woo Young Woo and the drama, in interviews and videos, even after the drama has ended is because people expect that of him - interviewers always ask him question about playing Jun Ho, or what he thinks about WYW and they make him say the Seop Seop lines. It's his most well known character and one of this first main lead roles since his other roles were either second lead or very short main lead roles. Anyway, KTO doesn't actually mention PEB in any of his interviews either - he only talks about her character, Woo Young Woo - not the actress. I think most people understand that PEB was very tired in this role since she mentioned this in all her exit interviews when the drama ended and her official fan meet - people know that she wants to protect WYW too and that's why she doesn't talk much about the drama.
  24. Hahaha so true, I think it's been awhile since DYLB and so most people look back at it fondly, but not in a strong shippy way. I think this would be less of a thing with TKA as well if RW's last drama had been a new romance or if PEB had had more of a gap between TKA and EAW As for Min Jae being a ship seller...to be honest, I enjoy these kinds of celebrities (though I know everything is in good fun and if he's publicly posting this stuff I don't believe it's actually happening LOL). At least fans are not anxious about whether he gets along with his co-stars. Maybe I like this because I come from the world of oversharing Taiwanese celebrities LOL. But even though they feed the fandom, there's genuinely a real friendship with those celebrities because they are often very good friends (sometimes to the point where they promote dramas by hosting events and livestreams from each other's houses!) Today I was getting a drink from that Korean dessert store Sul Bing and I didn't realise Min Jae was on their ads Mildly, implied war, I think. It's not like the Start Up NJH v KSH type thing...but people are sometimes a little snippy if someone posts up a TKA edit when people talk about KTO or an EAW edit that mashes up scenes from TKA. Haha, I don't believe until I see hard evidences But I feel like there's enough hard evidence that they at least have a good time together. I feel like people sometimes get a little paranoid in shipping like they either can't look at each other because they're in love ad hiding it or they hate each other. And I think honest, most of the time it's not that extreme - actors have built a good bond together from months of intense filming and they are often at least friiends from the experience. I apprecite KMJ and Rowoon as performers in their own rights and I think they're good looking and all, but I never felt strongly about them when they were paired with PEB the way I have with KTO. Haha, I think everyone was way too excited to show they knew KTO & PEB...but you're right, given that PEB was getting a lot of questions about how close she was to KTO, it would have been nice not to have another voice to add to the paranoia. Hi @Kismet_06200904 Welcome to this thread I found that video awhile back too and was surprised they did a commentary on episodes 1&2 together. I think the reason it's not been subbed as far as I can see is because the video is 18 minutes long which is a lot of work! But I do love that video and if I have time I'll try and sub the sections where KTO and PEB talk together the most - though I'll need someone to check the Korean is correct as well. (Sorry can't do a full 18 minute sub.. That would take weeks or months! Though you could fundraise money and ask someone on Fiverr to sub it. I did that for a Dodosolsollalasol 30 minute interview once. Like 15 people donated and it took a week for the people to fully sub it. I'm glad I did it though!) Good question! I need to learn how to quote too Yes! I totally agree I think it's nice that someone sees past the surface stuff. KTO is obviously a very funny guy and PEB does laugh a lot with him when you view the Swoon video and when you see her in the behind the scenes videos as well when they're working out the romantic scenes. And also at the fan meet when KTO started fake crying, she was so on it But I think it's lovely that she seems to know another side of him too from working closely with him through one of her most challenging roles. I think that these were the traits that she appreciated about him the most I also really enjoyed My Liberation Notes and I like it when actors compliment each other more than just looks - it's obvious everyone is pretty in Kdramaland...but what else is there? It's nice to hear the more substantial compliments
  25. Ep 1 I just started watching this! I'd been keen since I heard there was going to be an adaptation of the book. As a lover of classics and a keen reader, I was excited but also unsure. See book adaptations can go very wrong sometimes. But when I saw the trailer I realised that this would be a verrryyyy loose adaptation with a lot of room for creativity. I remember the writer saying she wanted a sexy version with corruption and greed . For the first part of the fist episode I wasn't sure if I liked it. I don't mind anti-heroes or a world where everything seems rather cold. And I really love films and dramas with social commentary that look at the issues with captialism. But I did feel a little bit like every second word was 'money' and it felt a bit too obvious what the theme was - like it was literally being shoved down your throat that this was going to be a story about poverty v. wealth. I prefer a more understated show-don't-tell approach with themes....Also some of the character changes were grating like with Mamie? However, the characters intrigued me, and I liked looking for the interactions with the book (ie. seeing NJH as 'Jo' go to the rich aunt's house) and found it interesting that I had no idea where the story was going to go. Towards the end of the second half I was sucked in. Nothing like a mysterious death of an outcast character and a ton of cash for our favourite anti-heroes to get me on board Also curious about the alcholism with NJH's character - I spent the first half wondering why she was drinking mouth wash and then when it was revealed, I was like LOL, well that makes sense
