  1. Ah, sorry ~ You're going to have to put up with Kang Tae Oh fever at least until the guy goes off to the military. Me and Abs can't get enough of him Haha, it's gotten so bad that I'm even considering watching him act like a jerk (I'm saving this for when he goes off to the military though as it might help me get over him ) Have you seen 'The Effect of a Finger Flick on a Break Up' @abs-oluteM? Was it good? And how toxic is toxic? I know it's only like 1 ep/ movie length....but I was pretty meh when it came out - life can be rough in real life as it is so I avoid watching makjang/ cheating/ toxic jerk lead dramas when I feel like something is leaning heavily in that direction. I don't not watch them, but I can't promise I'll enjoy them . But with that said if there's a good reason that characters are the way they are, I'll accept it...after all, I can't deny adopting LJW after Extraordinary You and he was a real piece of work in that (but only because he was being controlled by the writer)...Now I'm considering to watch KTO's acting range when he's being a hot jerk I blame this edit. It was the damn eyebrow thing that got me. I wish I was joking, but I am dead serious It's like the hair flick he did at the baseball game - I don't understand why these things work on me, but they doooo I enjoy hearing about all your strange ships Hahaha, I think Tea means there's only one random piece of Rowoon talk in this recent chat (from you of course ) - it's like Wu Lei / Kang Tae Oh dominant at the moment It's sooo nice. Just slow motion eeeeevery thing he does and we're charmed Also the all important hair flick. No one is letting me get over it
  2. He's so fit! But I feel like he's always had a build (at least since I first noticed him in dramas) so I feel like he's one of those guys that nver misses out on working out I'm tired just watching this Hahaha everyone has like years of footage of him since he's been around for awhile but now they're pulling it out and pushing it to the world because they want in to prove they've worked with him before Hahaha, who knew I'd one day be entertained by a video of someone drinking water? Yeah I hope his agency continues to help him maintain relevency. I feel bad that he 's going away to the military...but then again, this is better than those who hit big time and then end up in scandal I guess. Hahahaha KTO was clearly made to be a celebrity/ actor/ model and not a baseball player....which is better for all of us who enjoy looking at him. But the commentary is funny
  3. Attention @abs-oluteM, have you seen this yet? I'm not sure why, but that hair flick/ cow lick is really killing me Let me just crawl back into my coffin after this Why is he even playing baseball? I just got home from hanging out with friends and saw this no context I can see I'm not the only one dying from this...
  4. Hahaha! I feel like I have this curse where if I start the drama thread, I'm ot watching the drama I love both the main actors so I'm definitely going to watch. But given I'm so obsessed with Extraordinary Attorney Woo Young Woo and Alchemy of Souls, I'm probably not going to start this till after EAWYW finishes, so I have something to move onto while I grieve the end of a series I really like Hahaha is he one of your many boyfriends @SilverMoonTea? Haha, while I'm totally into the romance of EAWYW at the moment, which is quite romancey, I totally understand what you mean. The dramas I seem to love most of the time are not romances, but series that are meaningful and have a lot of heart. I think I liked the dramas of last year more because of series like Taxi Driver , Squid Game and Move to Heaven which really spoke volumes to me about life. But sometimes romances can be meaningful too especially when it's about growing as a person, not about all the mushy stuff. I'm looking forward to the development of this webtoon office drama! Yay! I'm so glad you're watching...I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you won't have dropped it by the time I start. Maybe I'll start next week so I'm not too behind Just trying to keep on top of my 3 dramas and struggling at the moment since real life socialisation and events call too! I just lovvvvve Kim Sejeong and Nam Yoon Yu and can't wait to see what they do!
  5. He's soooo pretty Thanks for reminding me! OMG I love the cast chemistry - They're all obviously very comfortable around each other. And KTO's such a chill and easy going guy. Even before PEB said that about him, you can see that he's very laidback and sweet towards his co-stars. Also I was so charmed by that look they shared when he was asked to name 2 of PEB's charms...haha, it almost seemed like some in-joke between them or just a tease knowing he would say something cheesey
  6. I guess I was expecting the angst to start soon, but it still feels like it went from super cute affectionate episode to the downward slope of angst very quickly with the unresolved relationship status and Myeong Sek's health! I was going to write about ep 12 as well, but it's pretty late now, so save for tomorrow! Episode 11 This case was pretty sad for the wife because I felt like she was a decent person - even when her husband had been a real jerk and was harrassing her to sign divorce papers she was still devastated when he was killed in the car accident. She only wanted to money to help their family, whereas he was greedy and also having plans to leave her. But I guess you could tell from the start that he was a real piece of work - morally loose about lying, gambling addiction, always living for some grand dream but not taking responsibility in the present etc. But this episode was so sweet in the YW and JH department. It was cute that she couldn't stop thinking about him and waited for him out the front And then THAT office hand scene was all the flutters. Jun Ho sure can flirt annd multi-task and Young Woo was so cute when she was delighted to touch his hand through the glass Hahaha, I was saying to someone that that scene made me want to have some hot secret office romance...but alas, no Jun Ho to put out his hand and also the office is open plan so no glass windows with shutters like that But imagine the excitement if this was your POV... And then I was just really in love with the way he had put in the time and effort to research about Autism and knew exactly what to do when she was in trauma. He's just such a patient and throughtful guy! And so I'm glad that YW is now coomfortable wiith his touch and even happy/ keen on the kissing. It was nice to see him earn his place in her world. The only thing I kind of worried about was after the phone conversatiion when she said he was the first person she thought about as much as whales, Jun Ho's smile looked a little...sad? lost in thought? He's very patient and she obviously she makes him very happy and he likes her a lot, but I was wondering how everyone else read that scene? Poor Su Yeon by the way! She doesn't deserve her bad dates! But she is such a cool character. I liked her style walking out with the most expensive bottle of alcohol. I wonder if they will give her a love line or if it'll just be an open ending for her. I feel like it's cool either way since she's a strong, independent woman UGHHH Her mother is trash by the way. You know it's shocking when even Attorney Kwan/ Min Woo is shocked when he hears that she wants Young Woo fired or quitting...it's just not what a real mother would do. And it makes me sad because it's not even like YW has gone too bother her or intrude in her life!
  7. Oh for sure! I would believe this from my limited experiences with people in that community that I've interacted with. Also I remember WYW saying that she was extra gulliable since she can't really read expressions and therefore has trouble with things like reading the room or reading between the lines. It must be so hard to determine people's true intentions without that. I also thought the scene looked realistic and PEB's acting seemed realistic from what I've experienced. I was once a warden in a fire drill at work and was caught in a similar situation when one of the people around me had a developmental disability and was really distressed by the alarms. I had no idea what to do, but luckily someone came to help me calm them down. I was so admiring of Jun Ho's ability to react so quickly. His research paid off Hahaha Jun Ho should know the modern rules of dating: Nothing is official until you've both had the conversation I mean what if WYW started talking about Mr Bang again... Gotta say it to be sure But I laughed at the dad's reaction. So old school! But he's also probably worried that she's being used. Little does he know that she's hit the jackpot in the ultimate guy
  8. OK. I promised that I would write a post with substance last week and I have not because all I do when I watch this drama is turn into a puddle of melted cotton candy I think at the heart of it, I'm a sucker for this romance because it's super cute and so damn pure as well...and something about the chemistry between the leads just makes me feel less jaded about love (when all my love stories are more like Su Yeon's dating experiences ) Anyway here are the non-romance things I wanted to write over the past couple of weeks. I've mustered just enough self control to get this down...but all I want to do now is write about how much I love this couple Episode 8 - Town/road case Hahaha this episode made me cringe a lot when they went to revisit the town again in order to defend it from getting a road built down the middle. It felt like such a disaster. But I think that it was good to show how everything has good sides and bad sides and sometimes the outcome of a legal case does depend on what the judge sees and experiences, no matter how objective things are. I also didn't think badly of the residents who did take the offer because I did kinda agree that although the town chief was well meaning, he was more well off than them and money is unfortunately tempting when you need it and have less of it Episode 9 - Pied Piper I liked the message of this episode about kids being able to live their lives with more freedom and happiness rather than under the oppression of cram schools etc. I think there's often so much pressure for kids to grow up quicker than they should because the world seems like a tough place to jaded adults. But like @stroppyse, I agree that I would freak out if a strange guy kidnapped my kid and took them to the mountains. I think it's just the fact that so many people do bad things to children that my concern would be that he abused them somehow. Like his ideology was cool, but the method was a bit wacked! I loved the cameo by Koo Gyo Hwan - he's just so cool. If anyone wants to pull of a quirky, strange character that is quite nonchalent about going to jail, I feel like he's the right person for sure! Episode 10 - Disability assault case This case was pretty uncomfortable and while I thought it was great to contrast the case to show the difficulties WYW and JH will face, I was also stressed when the case was going on. It was interesting that they didn't really prove either way whether the guy was lying or telling the truth, which I assume is the effect they wanted...but I found out this was based on a real case and unfortunately the guy was actually evil in that he would trick people with disabilities for his own physical pleasure and to steal their money...but the people conned still believe in him and didn't want him to go to jail, though he did in the end. It made me angry and sad But in terms of the show, if the guy wasn't proven to use the person's money or to have a history of doing the samme behaviour...maybe I would consider feelings...but as it is, the case also explained that the girl had a mental capacity of a 13 year old and that really did not sit right with me. Also in this episode I am really starting to dislike the mum, I feel like she's going to be the cause of tension and potential break ups and I don't want her to screw up Young Woo's life more than she alread has!
  9. I am also shocked @mademoiselle. Good bye Rowoon He does look tired I assume he's trying to squeeze in as much promo and work before military. It really is quite an annoying thing for him to finally get the fame he deserves just before having to enlist. He's probably had a much longer trek to get to first lead position than a lot of other stars (In Doom at Your Serivce I almost felt like he had gone backwards as the second lead in the secondary love triangle), but I hope he continues to be remembered for this role and gets some of that recognition back straightaway As for his styling, I agree! What's with this weird yellow vest jumper?! Is it terrible if I say they need to get him back into Jun Ho-like shirts/ officewear?
  10. I was on it as soon as I saw them I feel slightly bad that I have such Kang Tae Oh fever when I waited so long to see Lee Jae Wook as well...but I swear I support them both...it's just that one has the better character at the moment Ooooh thanks for sharing! It's so nice that they're still friends after Run On....Also KTO looks so pretty here! I'm so jelly of the fans who got see him looking this good live and got to take no-mask photos. What a dream! I laugh at Min Woo actor though. He had to clarify that he is not his character It seemed like he was sayng "Please don't hurt me." Hahaha, you and your troublesome affair boys. It's nice when guys are nice ...But you're not wrong. He looks hot in that photo Haha, me too. I always think of these 2 when I see affair/ makjang dramas...not my style, but I know there is a keen audience out there Wow what a good looking bunch! Fashion events in Korea must be next level with all their pretty A Listers!
  11. Hahaha it's like a super happy ending I guess in terms of a murder mystery, but because the storyline was very meh in the first place, it doesn't save it or anything. I'm still watching Cafe Minamdang, but I spoke too soon the last time and I'm eating my words because I found the female lead extremely annoying in the last few episodes Wow, who would have thought! Haha, I was wondering where you and Tofu disappeared to but then I saw in Oppa tracker and suspected y'all might be in C-Dramaland! There's been a lot of medicore Kdramas this year though - I'm surprised I've finished them all despite not caring for them. My need for escapism must have been strong My obsession is currently EAWYW which must be obvious from my spamming at all angles Nah, he got killed by the murderer. Gye hoon ended up buying the land where murderer hinted that he buried the bodies and they found the dad and sister's bodies buried there. Sad, but gave Gye hoon closure
  12. Hahaha @mademoiselle I didn't realise you were still watching. Did you finish in the end? I actually finished this on Monday night? I had a hectic weekend because of an emergency and it's thrown my drama watching schedule. And then I started obsessing over Extraordinary Attorney Woo Young Woo and forgot to write about all my other dramas. Eps 11-16 Well I can't say I liked this drama, but I didn't hate it either. It just didn't make that much sense. I thought there were a number of good ideas like Ji Won Tak's storyline which was pretty sad since it was one of those stories about unforgivable mistakes which ruin a person's life. I also liked the mum and grandma's antics and that plot twist being that she's actually mum's mother in law, not real mother. But in terms of the entire storyline I didn't like the flow of events/ pacing. For example, the restaurant took 16 episodes to open and Gye Hoon closed it before it even openned at some point, which doesn't make a lot of sense. Also Gye Hoon mentioned that the real reason he went back to the town was to find his father not his sister (who he knew was dead)...but not once was there a scene of him actually actively searching for his father? In the end the mysteries ended up being pretty straight forward except there were 2 guys instead of one with the fishmarket guy who was the friend of the good cop. In a weird way, I actually feel that this town was more sinister than Beyond Evil. I think in Beyond Evil the people were more supportive of each other except for the 3 most evil people in the town. But in this series, people have their own selfish acts and secrets like the guy who ignored Gye Hoon' sister or Da Hyun's mum not reporting and therefore no one search to see if more kids were kidnapped. The Link was semi explained as Da Hyun promised to convey the message to Gye Hoon...but it wasn't a very sceintific/ logical/ magical explaination. In terms of acting, I think MGY and YGJ did their best, but the poor writing didn't help them. Glad LJW didn't pick this up when he was rumoured to be offered. Oh well, the story managed to tie up the main mystery before the last episode which was used to tie up all loose ends, which was good because it left nothing else to ponder and had a super happy ending. Ah, well, at least I can put this in the finished basket.
  13. Hahaha in case anyone was wondering what Woo Young's dating bucket list was:
  14. Episode 10 AHHHHHHHH!!! I'm in so deep for this pair I just love them both. I think Park Eun Bin and Kang Tae Oh are both so beautifully expressive and it's every micro expression and gesture that is killing me. Again, it's pretty late so I'll write my thoughts of substance about the actual cases/ the reactions of Jun Ho's friends/ Min Woo & Tae Su Mi's schemes tomorrow and talk about the fluffy romance stuff first. I cannot with Kang Tae Oh. That scene where WYW waits for him to confirm if he still likes her and he's highly amused was so adorable. Jun Ho was having so much trouble hiding his pleasure in answeriing her, with all his little hidden half smiles...Also why is this guy such a tease? So highly skilled in flirting! but it is very much a learning curve for him - Jun Ho seems very affectionate/ physical and it's stuff like not being able to hold hands that is part of the learning and compromise for him in this relationship. But I think that's why the kiss scene was so beautiful too. He was really wanting to, but respectfully holding back for her boundaries....and I guess that's why it's so lovely that she closed the gap and intiated Hahaha, I also thought it was cute that she was like, I have no idea what I'm doing and he gave her pointers. To be honest, a first kiss always feels a little awkward for most people I think! Haha WYW is a fast learner though And there's this split second look of happiness that Jun Ho has at her desire to continue that was very adorable....and then that kiss was just pretty. I'm glad it was not a freeze kiss, but one that was full of emotion and longing etc. I have to say part of the beauty of Kang Tae Oh/ Jun Ho's expressions is that it's not just love, but there's a bit of sadness and worry annd longing as well. I thought the conversatiion about how hard it is loving WYW was nice, because he didn't try to hide it, but committed himself to this relationship despite knowing full well how hard things will be going forward. OK, I swear my next post will be more intellectual and less fan girling...I think, it's hard to make promises when I'm in this deep
  15. Episode 9 I just watched Episode 9 and all I can say is damn, that confession pulled flutters! Jun Ho is such a lovesick puppy I have things of more substance to say tomorrow ....but here's my little analysis of the romance, because as much as I love that the story is centred on a lot of meaningful themes and the personal growth of Woo Young Woo as a person, I am sooo here for the romance as well and it's killing my inner fan girl The way Jun Ho said how much he liked her dug deep into my heart because hie was so damn breathless and his voice cracked a little when he said that he liked her. And he also added how much he liked her which is a lot. I'm glad he finally got the words out because he had been angsting about it the whole episode! I think it's realistic that he would hold himself back because he's really aware of what a relationship with WYW would mean for the both of them. It would be something for him to adjust to himself, but I interpreted it as not so much his worries about things being hard for himself, but for WYW who people will speak badly about and say really mean things like 'Jun Ho only feels sorry for her' or 'how could she even think of monopolising him for herself' etc etc I mean, I have read about women who have experienced this because they are considered not conventionally attractive or overweight when their partners are attractive/ popular/ charismatic...And I fear those around WYW in the firm will be mean in that way too. I'm a little worried about the angst period though because I don't want this precious love to cause either of them pain
  16. Hahaha yes, I've tossed away Paul Fu for Kang Tae Oh This edit is quite nice in that it looks smooth with all the scenes they used from Do You Like Brahms x Run On and they even made a storyline which makes sense...and they picked scenes where KTO looks good
  17. Hahaha, I like it Ah, PEB's Hello My Twenties / Age of Youth days! And Run On, which I didn't love, but still watchhed mainly for KTO since he was just pretty. I have to laugh at how other stations are trying to get in on the EAWYW pie even to the point of video editing the past dramas hey appeared in on their stations Hahaha, I see we are on the same page about LDH's next drama. He's just a mid-tier Oppa for me so no promotion in my heart either Yes! I remember reading iy ages ago and thinking, ugh Makjang to the max Hahahaha how bad is my KTO Oppa obsession @abs-oluteM?
  18. Yeahhhh, I may have watched that scene like a million times over As the years pass, I'm less likely to get deep flutters when I watch romances. I guess I developed immunity But this one got me real baddddd. Haha, so cute that the 3 of you have a favourite new Oppa again! I think my mum and I only share Gong Yoo and my sister and I share Steven Noh (Pachinko non-LHM guy) But I convinced her to start Extraordinary Lawyer Woo Young Woo and she does think KTO is fineee also. I love the eye contact too...it's like a sign of trust which is so hard to gaiin with WYW. I also love this little tick he does when he thinks about her Hahahaha why is LDH on the disown? Just no good projects lately? I'm not going to be watching his next drama either. I'm not a fan of SHK and also don't think it's my kind of storyline. @mademoiselle I think also might have been part of why I didn't watch Sunbae too...wasn't sure about if I'd care about the FL. But then I saw her in the film clip with LJH and it was real cute so I should go back and at least try out Sunbae one day
  19. I know what you mean. Lockdown meant lots of drama watching and hanging out here. Real life is so busy for me too! I've had to go to hospital the past couple of days due to an emergency, so it's not even been fun activities for me. Haha, wait but if you are watching Extraordinary Attorney Woo Young Woo aren't you watching a drama? I guess casual watching huh Hahaha, I knew you were not going to like Jun Ho...sunshiney, super nice guys are not your type...Jasper did nothing for you until he was a mean, bondage-loving CEO I just put it down to different taste. I haven't adopted your boy Ryu Jun Yeol yet either so we're even!
  20. @abs-oluteM He is a fine, fine man And his build is When I saw this photo, I was like damn he is too hot in white, why so revealing in white? In case you don't know, Kang Tae Oh has finally made into VIP oppa tier since I follow him, his agency and have watched all the behind the scenes etc etc. I've always been charmed by him since My First First Love but I felt like his acting was a little green in earlier days. But I think he's improved a lot and of course Jun Ho is a very sweet empathetic character that brings out all his charms That scene from episode 7 lives rent free in my head now. Cannot get over the romantic tension @SilverMoonTea I feel like I haven't heard from you for ages! Are you well? How is the oppas collection going? I feel like this year is slower than the last, eh?
  21. Episode 7 Ahhhhhh, damn, this episode was everything. I'll be honest, the romance is like my main focus when I say this But apart from that, I'm a sucker for close knit communities and this episode hd such a cute little community full of fun cariing people who were being taken advantage of for their land I like watching an underdog fight and hope the little town will come out on top. But getting back to the romance...I cannot with Kang Tae Oh . Everything about Jun Ho's scenes with WYW are super fluttery for me. I think the romance works because he is so gentle and super empathetic (ie. hhe is always trying to learn about her and always respectful and mindful of her preferences), but damn that boy's flirting/ romantic tension skills are Haha, to be honest, I laughed at how bewildered he was at first...but also it was probably killing him too to have the girl he was interested in asking if she could touch him and not knowing the effect of those words But he's such a tease...I liked that he guessed her feelings and it gave him the confidence to say something that was honest but also playful and close to his heart. I also really really like that the other female lawyer Su Yeon has been depicted as being genuinely nice and kindhearted., I forgot to mention earlier I was really touched when WYW told her she had noticed that she was always kind and warm to her But I also like that they show realistically that she still feels a title wistful or jealous as would be normal when you're next to someone who you feel is smarter than you. I just hope it never grows! I'm so sick of old school shows that depict women as being mean towards each other. I like that she's an all rounder in smarts and looks and connections, but still very human. Anyway just letting you all know I have replayed this scene 10000000 times now
  22. Episodes 5 I didn't get a chance to write on last week's episodes coz I was in physical pain, but I'm feeling better this week so just going to share thought thoughts quickly - Episode 5 with the ATM case, I felt so bad for WYW and honestly, I think it's the reason why I turned down a law career myself - I could never hack the idea of representing people I did not agree with. At least this was not a criminal case - I remember speaking with a criiminal lawyer who was appointed to defend alleged criminals and I felt squirmish because I would hate the idea of defending someone really well and getting them off the hook if it turned out they the person who hurt someone else. I actually thought it was a really good episode in that it didn't show this naive viiew of the law in that it's either all good or all bad which is what happens in a lot of legal dramas - it was realistic in that it showed the nature of client work which can be very demoralising if you get a bad client. There's lot of gray area and unfortunately, people can use the law as a tool to take advantage of others. I understood WYW in the way she felt like let herself down by going against her beliefs and moral compass. It was a very bittersweet episode, but I loved how the episode felt. Alos Jun Ho is just so respectful of her - he wanted to comfort her in the way that people generally do, but he held back from touching her because he knew she would be uncomfortable. But it pained him all the same. And the way that she replaced the sunflower with the letter touched me as well. I think because even though most people would have taken that letter as criticism, WYW took it as something to remind herself to be the best person she can be Episode 6 Hahaha...this was the episode with the North Korean defector....And maybe it's terrible, because I know she was an honest person and just feeling desperate...but I was very annoyed with the client's outburst at the other woman, especially since the other lady was also an abuse victim (even though she was lying)! I was like please don't talk and let your lawyers guide you!!! But I felt sad for discrimination against North Koreans, I didn't realise that was such a big issue, but I guess it's always that thing where people think others are taking theiir resources apparently. Also was the judge from that episode the evil CEO in Happiness? I feel like the dicey characters here are from Happiness if you include the selfish lawyer Min Woo who was the lying gym guy as well
  23. OMG GUYS I just watched the last episode and Damn Kang Tae Oh was sooooo hot. I don't know if WTW has fully decided that she's in love with Jun Ho, but even from a screen, without touching him, I've decided that I'm in love with him
  24. I'm going to write my opinions on the latest episodes later - haha with all the good dramas going on I feel like I am doing a fine balance to stay on top of all of them So while I finish them all in a timely manner I then don't have time to write about them Also I screwed up my arm, so I don't think I'm suppose to be typing as much...I may end up having to podcast my thoughts. Haha, don't be too annoyed if I just drop a podcast link since my arm is killing me But I wanted most importantly this morning to share was this deleted scene in case some of you haven't seen it yet - it turns out WYW does find Jun Ho's gift! I wonder why they deleted this scene though since it's quite beautiful in my opinion. Maybe it's not realistic? (I was thinking along the lines of the character randomly picking something out from the trash no context?) Also we find out what the gift is @abs-oluteM @mademoiselle @stroppyse @Tofu and anyone else who was discussing this - it's a water projection lamp Also, these are the subbed PEB and KTO moments in Episodes 3-4
