  1. Yay! Thanks @Tofu. I'll give it a go later tonight
  2. oh, that's so weird! Maybe my usual image server has an issue I'll type out the phrase: Little caption at the top: 플래시세례에도 Big caption line 1: 흔들림 없는 Big caption line 2: 편안함 I looked it up in the dictionary and it said Flashlight for the top one and something about comfort in the other line? This is very helpful! I'll give both those things a go! Thanks a lot for the tech troubleshooting
  3. I love how unimpressed you are with the second lead of this drama I agree. On the grand scale of annoying second male leads, he's annoying but not the worst kind. I think he'll back down because he really respects the female lead's wishes and doesn't want them to be awkward On a different topic, Tea mentioned I should ask you about Discord! Long ago when I first joined JH I could go onto the discord, but after awhile I forgot how and when I try to log on again here it says I already have an account but can't enter :( Is there some way to possibly reset it? Thanks in advance Oh and one more thing, sorry to ask, but I've tried a few translation apps and searching the words in the dictionary, but do you know what this entire text means...I keep getting flashlight and something about comfort? I need to enroll back in Korean school again! Hahaha not stalking much? Hahaha I also have to say his look doesn't appeal to me and I've never watched any of his dramas I'm too scared to say in the wider socials since he's a very popular man But hey, I don't have a problem with others liking him. I just don't see it. (Probably because I haven't given his dramas a chance. lol)
  4. I agree. I don't think she was trying to pick him up though she thought he had a gf - I think her personality is just generally playful and warm, so sometimes people interpret that as flirting, when it's really just being a people person Hahaha you're right! I just went on a bender by retweeting a billion things on this drama and I did see a few posts about SLS. Obviously, it's no one from here! Oooh thanks for explaining the meanings YES. Shove her back Hahaha I don't particularly ship the actors, but I love their pics together and cast chemistry (with SL also) They're all so cute! I feel like it's a troll - it's too light hearted a drama to be so angsty and nonsensical. But I have been burnt before *ough DDSSLLS cough*, so I think I should not speculate This is a very good point! I think that JY would have low self esteem. Not just about being a country girl (though that seems true as well) but also because this girl has history with Ji Yul ad also they have a similar career and ambitious side and people keep saying she's pretty and treating her like Ji Yul's gf due to his mistake of saying that in the past.
  5. Episodes 1-9 This drama has been my happy place for the last couple of weeks since I picked it up - Thanks so much to @abs-oluteM and @stroppyse for recommending it and giving me a little shove to start! I don't know why it didn't appeal to me immediately when I saw the trailer, but I really enjoyed it from the first episode which is pretty rare for me since it usually takes awhile to settle. But I guess short dramas are usually good since they get into the action immediately! From episode 1, I've found Ji Yul to be a good balance of standoffish city person to warm guy with a heart. Sometimes I don't like these characters *cough Hometown Cha Cha Cha cough*. But in his case, I thought he was quite relatable - He was still polite and helpful, but he showed those boundaries and walls that city folks tend to put up when in uncomfortable situations with lots of people who like to be very close to you. Also I think he warmed up quite quickly thanks to a certain pretty police officer Before this series, I'd never watched Joy act, so I don't know about her past acting skills, but I've really liked her character here. She does that warm-hearted and super friendly vibe well in this series. Ja Young has definitely had an obvious crush on Ji Yul since the moment he stepped foot in the village because she's always been so up in his business and she comes on strong with her playfulness Their chemistry is really cute and awkward which feels quite realistic for childhood friends who haven't met in a long time. I don't always like the childhood/first love trope when it's sooo cliche, but this one feels rather natural and more belivable than many others I've seen. And I really liked how romantic tension is so thick you could slice it with a knife by Episode 9 when they're in that peach wine storage shed...I feel like the romance is probably the best in dramas when it's this point where both of them should just say their feelings but they can't so they just depserately hint at it BUT I am upset that the ex has come into the picture to stir things up. Technically, she's not a bad person and she's not being mean (though she's very strong willed and stubborn and not-reading-the-room)...but I don't like that she face planted on the male lead in front of Ja Young! And before Ja Young as well! @SilverMoonTea as soon as I saw ex-girlfriend: Hey it's Pomme from Today's Webtoon) I have a weakness for warm village/ community stories, especially if the characters are the right balance of friendly and nosy This one seems to tick all those boxes. You laugh at all the ahjummas who have fights with each other, and they can be teasing and nosy, but they're well meaning enough and keep the pacing going. I also really like the vet-related stories like when they save the dog in the first episode and when he has to put the bull down for the old man who treats it like a family member....it's all just so wholesome and makes me want to move to the countryside (though I totally would not survive! )
  6. @abs-oluteM My reaction to the ending of that last episode: NOOOOOOOOOOOOO Let me just gather my thoughts and write something for this drama since I like it alot and just realised I've barely written anything!
  7. Haha that's true! You're lucky! I'm still stuck in the brainrot that is KTO and LJW though I guess I'm going ok Somehow I feel like Choco has the best talent at finding the worst pics of your Oppas @mademoiselle But good revenge!
  8. Ahhh, so glad we have the same opinions about the sisters. I also find it hard to watch because the characters are such extremes and I feel like I would never act this way even if I was really desperate for money. But I suppose the point of the show is also the emotional baggage Totally agree with everything here - I think I actually started to get into the drama from episode 5 to be honest because I'm liking how all the threads tie together and are becoming a bit of a claustophobic spider web! As for Choi do il, I agree - I'm like so wary when he's on screen but also charmed? Haha, is @Tofu watching this series since Wi Ha Joon is her oppa? There was this one scene where he was denying that he was in league with In Joo and the way he smiled/ smirked when he said iit was just a fling? That was a look Hyo Rin = I don't think she saw the same murder, but maybe another similar one in childhood?
  9. Episodes 2-6 WOW EPISODE 6 CLIFFHANGER And Yay! Thanks to the looong weekend I've finally caught up. At first I wasn't sure if I enjoyed the series - it's been a bit of back and forth mainly because I think I'm looking for similarities with the book as an adaptation but also trying to see it as an entirely seperate project. And I was 'meh' about this obsession with money. It's so in your face. Normally I love social commentary and don't have an issue with popular series that focus on this - I'm a big, big fan of Squid Game, loved Parasite...but I found the first 4 episodes of this grating and like super dramatic. BUT by episode 5, things became really unpredictable and the over-the-top dramatic style makes sense because now you know the deeper darker secrets and there's a few deep layers to play with so I'm settling in. Also there's like a slightly supernatural element with the orchid and that cult-like, illuminati society - it's so spooky and I even had to watch the last part of episode 6 this morning because I was creeped out. Hahaha I feel like the opposite of some of you like @Chocolate who started tuning out this week You don't really know who is reliable narrator and who you can trust. I love that all the characters have this very sinister side to them, but then they can present as quite victimised as well...and then every character seems to know a lot about what's going on, but are also playing this against each other with the 3 sisters who are just starting to enter this world. Choi Do-il is very hard to trust, but then again, at least he's also really honest that all he cares about is money. It also seems to be implied that he does care about Oh In Joo since he seems to worry when she's in danger...but she also has his money, so who knows? But since he's been working wiith that family for a long time, he knows the ins and outs and all the dark secrets of that family, so it feels like In Joo is better off trusting him with a grain of salt than not. You know who I started out disliking heaps, but now appreciate? The mum/ wife Won Sang-A - her fakeness was irritating at fiirst, but then she showed this sad victimised side BUT then might also be an act according to Choi Do-il who also accurately described the sort of actions she pulls on those who work as her assistant?! She laso seems to have this bubbling rage and sense of revenge under the surface and I enjoy the duality As for the sisters themselves, I have to say like @ktcjdrama I really don't like any of the sisters (though I think the way they were written was on purpose) All of them have such extreme personalities that I wish they would tone down a little because sometimes it feels like they aren't being careful in a world they could easily die in In Joo I suppose is meant to be likeable, and sometimes she is, but I also find her very irritating because she just says her suspicions directly to the people she suspects and then acts 'naive' or like grovelling? But maybe I have a bias, as @mademoiselle knows I'm already not a fan of the actress In Kyung has no chill and although I respect her strong sense of ethics, I find her inability to have people skills to be very irritating - sometimes in order to convince people you need to be flexible, or to use their ways, instead of hardlining and alienate them. Also her inability be strategic is also frustrating. Like maybe find a more foolproof way to take down a person like that??? As for the youngest sister, In Hye, I find her to be very selfish, but that's like the book and also, with her family being this dysfunctional due to money and constantly embarrassing her, I think I understand why she would stick to the rich family. BUT the fact she would cover up a murder and the fact that she seems to think having a murderer for a dad than a poor guy is very problematic and cold, so I also find her dislikeable. What a family Hahaha I thought you said you were sick of romance on another thread!
  10. Welcome to my Dream Taebin Photoshoot: Part 6 You're all free to save and use these edits. If possible to credit, please credit: These Dramatic Days (which is the name of all the things I do relating to my dramas - Youtube subbing, podcast, blog etc etc). You can see the matching pastel & monochrome & amusement park & pleasant day photos (Part 1 & 2 & 3 & 4) on pg. 8 of this forum. And also a very sultry edit above! Random
  11. Welcome to my Dream Taebin Photoshoot: Part 5 I feel like the first days after enlistment would be the hardest, so I saved the best edits for today. You're free to save them for yourself, but please do not repost these ones (or else I'll stop editing photos/ sub videos). I've made these edits for fun, but I just don't want for people to get the wrong idea that it's real - I think some fans get extra sensitive. Also, I haven't done a crazy photoshop - these are PEB's actual Arena Magazine photoshoots just paired with KTO's recent photoshoots - I haven't doctored the photos so much except to make some of the monochrome. Aaand I want to say I'm not suggesting anything about their personal status or anything like that - But my point is that Taebin would have looked pretty together in a hot photoshoot. You can see the matching pastel & monochrome & amusement park & pleasant day photos (Part 1 & 2 & 3 & 4) on pg. 8 of this forum. Set this Room on Fire
  12. Ooooh Thanks for sharing! I hadn't seen the entire video, just the snippets on Twitter! And it's funny how even the media are editing things with Park Eun bin into it Also the fact that even Netflix is making PEB and KTO edits! Bless them -although I didn't think much of Run On, I really liked KTO's character in it and I loved Hello My Twenties! I'll miss getting all this KTO content while he's gone...also just his charming clumsiness...it reminds me of the final fan meet when he walked off with the mic too
  13. Welcome to my Dream Taebin Photoshoot: Part 4 You're all free to save them and use them. If possible to credit, please credit: These Dramatic Days (which is the name of all the things I do relating to my dramas - Youtube subbing, podcast, blog etc etc). Haha, prepare for more matching KTO & PEB photos ...and I even name my photoshoots You can see the matching pastel & monochrome & amusement park photos (Part 1 & 2 & 3) by scrolling up this thread! A Warm Pleasant Day
  14. So sad today is KTO's enlistment date Hope the time passes quickly and he's safe and well and as happy as he can be in that time! Oh really? I can't remember, but maybe it's because it's been so long since then. I prefer the Taebin chemistry anyway! So true! I think it takes 2 to build a good romance in a drama and KTO brought as much to the table as PEB. Even though her character was the one with more of storyline, KTO also brought out the right amount of romantic tension that captivated the audience and made the love line both wholesome/ endearing and heart-fluttering Yeah, it's been a long climb for KTO - almost a decade of being mostly second lead. Some actors get to first lead quickly (Eg. Lee Jae Wook) and others have a much longer journey, or only get a few small lead roles and have to go back to second lead (I'm thinking of actors like Yoon Park).. I think KTO's star is now big enough for him to be offered lead roles for sure when he's back though! Hahaha, I can take angst if it's relevant...but melo is often unnecessary angst prolonged for 16 episodes But if it's means that Taebin get reunited, I would gladly accept melo Yep, Jun Ho was definitely the sweet guy next door type, but I think it worked well in this context. If his story had been super dramatic it would have taken away the focus from Woo Young Woo I think some people also thought Jun Ho was unrealistic because he was 'too nice' and apparently no guys are like that...but that makes me laugh because I definitely know someone in real life who reminds me of Jun Ho a lot! Our relationship is not one that could be romantic, but he's very important to me all the same because he has the same sort of good natured kindness and patience as Jun Ho and is the always-on-your-side type. You know, the sort of person who believes in you even when you don't believe in yourself! Also, I've had a number of people tell me they've had a crush on him before which reminds me of Jun Ho. Haha, but I do agree with people who say it's too hard to find a guy like Jun Ho to date...they are rare on the market Yessss, Kang Tae Oh's micro expressions were so amazing. The way his eyes would look so hurt or touched or surprised by Woo Young Woo was so subtle yet so noticeable at the same time. They weren't over the top movements, but little things like a slight up-turn at the corner of his mouth or a slight raiise of the eyebrow. I totally understand - I was a sucker for their scenes too because of their abiility to make everything so beautiful but also deep at the same time. I also wish there were more out takes or additional scenes for us to watch Ooooh what video of Run On and Hello my Twenties are you talking about @innrukia? Oooh who didn't PEB's manager like? Hahaha, as long as he likes KTO I am fine Hahaha, omg, yes plsssss....I would love them to have a heated argument in a rom com! I also loved Hot Stove League PEB...and I haven't seen the Finger Flick drama, but now that KTO is in the army and his content will probably dry up some time soon, I'll be watching it when I miss himmm
  15. @abs-oluteM @twink_twink_ I'm not ready to let him go. Seeing all the photos and videos and the shaved hair is making me sooooo sadddd But apparently this was taken on the day of the Bluray commentary, so I'm hanging onto this
  16. Hahahaha, ok I will watch this. I don't often watch variety shows, but I love it when they're being playful and scheming against other stars Maybe this will redeem JCW to me. I haven't liked him since Healer? He is a cute man Ok 2 votes! I'll try it out. Where can I watch? Ohhh those wavering loyalties, huh?
  17. Welcome to my Dream Taebin Photoshoot: Part 3 You're all free to save them and use them. If possible to credit, please credit: These Dramatic Days (which is the name of all the things I do relating to my dramas - Youtube subbing, podcast, blog etc etc). Haha, prepare for more matching KTO & PEB photos ...and I even name my photoshoots LOL You can see the matching pastel & monochrome photos (Part 1 & 2) by scrolling up this thread! Amusement Park
  18. Haha English is a funny language - I didn't say 'for the first time ever' but rather 'for one of the first times ever' which means 'very rarely' rather than literally the first time. Sorry if it confused you Although the SL is not very likeable, you'd be surpriised -- I'm sure there's someone out there who will find him cuter and better than male lead. There's always fans who will see things differently I think he looks very young. Maybe because he has moe of a baby face than male lead. Like he has very big eyes? I don't remember him from The Witch's Diner either - but then again I only had eyes for Chae Jong Hyeop, so not surprised
  19. Hahaha just people trying to figure out whose phone those unrelease photos are stored on
  20. I can see why people think he looks like SKJ, but they're not that similar as well I think it's maybe face shape and stature rather than features? She is so very cheerful! Hahahha also I feel like she's just very obviously crushing on ML
  21. Hahaha For the one of the first times ever, I don't have second lead syndrome and I'm fully backing the main lead (cc: @mademoiselle and @Tofu) Is it just me, or does he look realllllllllly young? Like I feel like he could be FL's young brother I've never watched Joy before - I assume she's an idol? What was so terrile about Tempted? In this role she seems very cute and this is so light hearted! I'm kind of surprised I picked this up too, but also not because not because I'm a sucker for warm small town dramas (Dramas I've picked up/ continued for this reason: DDSSLLS, Racket Boys, When the Weather was Fine, Yong Jiu Grocery Store etc) Hahahaha, you know you really sold this to me when you said each episode is 30mins But I'm loving it -- it's super digestable and the romance is cute too, Damn over so soon!!! But I guess that's what's nice too - when a series is short and sweet there's less angst and bad writing/ falling off the tracks. Totallly agree - I feel like this town would fall apart if she moved away! But sh can still marry the vet - she just needs to convince him to stay I think the peach farmer is their preference because they also know and trust him and he's one of them and not a 'cold' outsider! Yeah, he didn't say a word which was weird! And though I definitely felt like that was on purpose to portray something about the character, I also didn't think that child actor looked very natural doing it - he looked a little eager Sorry kid, I know you're trying your best I'm a people person and these sentences still apply to me I love nosy villagers in dramas, but it would be hard in real life. I think because they can be sooooooooo friendly but no boundaries would be overbearing! Hahaha, poor guy is having a hard time holding his feelings in and we're all like, no, shove those feelings back inside! (But I still like the first lead this time )
  22. Oh and for you, @abs-oluteM - I'm not really a melo person, but I'd be ok with this melo, especially since she looks so pretty in her Do You Like Brahms style
