  1. THIS. I think this was my main issue and inconsistency with NYW. He kept saying it wasn't a problem for him and she herself was the fix to all the hurt her dad had caused him, but she wasn't listening?! Hahaha, I know...but I'd probably say it hoping to get them to my place and they would probably not know what ramyeon was (being that I live in a Western country) Nah, I still found Mi Ra's character very likeable and she couldn't be expected to wait on a guy who had said he would never like her (and was going back to NY for some time). I read it as eventually in 3 years Chan proved he wasn't so immature and they went from being friends to eventually liking each other
  2. Jajangmyeon is the blackbean noodles brought over by the Chinese living in Korea. It's more like Chinese takeway food specifically in Korea. At least that's how my friend explained it to me Hahaha, in the end it was still about making money rather than getting a home Hahaha, I'm kidding of course! (Or am I?) This is totally true though. I guess you must look at it as they've matured and grown and maybe with the time that has past and NYW becoming more independent, she's forgotten about the pains of her past. YJS would also show her how devoted he was and they could start again. I do think if you like the ending it must also be hard to read all the vents about it, so Thanks for sharing your points of view and putting a happy spin on things. I also think other people still love the series/ pairing/ actors, which is why people are so hurt about it. And then there's a few others like me who are irritated by the execution of the writing (more technical elements of delivering the drama) and just need to get it out of their system for one day before they're over it. But hopefully people will still remember the series in a good light. I've found that's what's happened with my favourite series over time. Haha, you're a fan of the subtle endings! I do think there were a number of good elements about the ending - nothing is ever all bad. For me, the pacing and lack of explanation took away from things - I wish we could actually see NYW becoming a person of her own self worth. By only showing the result (ie. a house) rather than the process of her getting there, I think I felt like something was left out, especially since she didn't have her friends around and didn't contact anyone (not just YJS). He was sweet! Haha, he could have had someone...why did he reject Mi Ra?! Yeah, I did feel the writer's gave her a character assassination that was totally unnecessary. It makes you unsatisfied because there was no consistency with her character from the past 15 episodes. Since she liked him so much and was such a warm, thoughtful person, how could she suddenly just avoid him indefinitely? If he hadn't found her, would she have kept hiding? And what about her friends/ workmates? I understand your POV - it's not being sour, I think it's valid to grieve the ending because there were so many possible elements to play with, but they made such odd choices that the last ep felt much different to the rest of the series. With time you'll just remember the good parts of this series and not the ending (except that it could have been better). But you'll still love it I think it's so cool that you've made alternate endings - other fans will be so grateful for this.
  3. Hahaha it's the same as in the Western world when someone asks if you want to come up for a drink or coffee. Except in Asia, everyone loves food, soooo.... I'd still use the same line without alterations to see how it would fare The problem is if they didn't know what ramyeon was and you had to explain it's like spicy instant noodles and then they were like, but we just had dinner?! Yeah I really don't understand writers who don't pace properly and think that this is what their audiences want to see in a rom-com. Even if it didn't end in marriage, it shouldn't end in a break up I honestly think break ups should be banned from the final episode of any rom com. Like you had your chance to break them up the entire series. If you hadn't done it now, it's too late and you've lost the right to do it Yeah it made no sense to pull out the dad story at this point. I think it would have been more acceptable to make the last 'issue' about the fact she wanted to build a house....but instead of breaking up, they work through it and NYW builds her house with YJS sometimes helping. But because the project and money used is hers alone, she feels happy and independent. But I'm sure after the first viewing you've gotten over it and still love all the good parts of the show. I feel like your positive and negative sentiments are exactly how I felt (and still feel) about DDSSLLS....there was so much beauty, joy and happiness in most of the series until the last few episodes. I'm just sorry that other good shows go through the cursed ending fate too! A good way for getting over the ending if you still need to grieve is re-watching all the behind the scenes. Since they had good chemistry, at least the show brought you your faves together I think unfortunately 'traditional' styles of K-drama rom-coms seem to love pulling these cards with endings. And this story was as traditional as you can get with the tsundere CEO. The types of annoying things they do with rom-com endings - Time jumps - Last minute break ups - Noble idiocy break ups - Uneven pacing of the last episode - Last 10 minute reunions - Open endings - Side characters getting better endings than the main couple - Side characters getting more airtime in the last episode than the main couple Haha, if it makes you feel better at least none of the main characters suddenly got cancer like they did in DDSSLLS. Anyway to add to the small list in my last post, another few similarity in both dramas...it's actually eerily similar in the way the ending went : Yeah, it's always sad when they have lots of lovely life lessons that you have pocketed...but then they end up contradicting them?! She either had a bitter break up before she wrote this or was friends with the DDSSLLS writer who butchered my favourite series in a similar way Yeah, the pacing for this drama ending was so off! I always find there's an element of time wastage in last episodes which sucks. For this drama, I think I outlined big changes in my last post. But even if they made minor tweaks it would have been great...For example, there's a lot of unnecessary fluff for side characters. I liked their stories, but they could have been tightened. Why bother having that scene with Chief Editor and the secretary? Or all those scenes where he's rejected by office workers? The whole UJ's dad scene could have been reduced too since he's not an important character. The scenes of the trip could also be shortened a lot! I wanted Gyeom and Mi Ra together!!! But I did feel like Chan was not a terrible character, just really annoying at times. For example, he was a good friend to Gyeom, though sometimes his actions weren't great. And he wasn't mean to her per say, just petty that he was rejected I guess.
  4. Epsiodes 11-16 + The Ending with Yoo Ja Sung + Na Young Won Ahhh, I'm not even sure where to begin. I feel like Korean writers really don't understand the meaning of Rom-com. Especially the comedy part which implies there will not be seriously unreasonable angst. Sure there needs to be some sort of conflict, but this should be resolved in a reasonable time so that the characters can have a happy ending or at least one that doesn't traumatise the viewers. I understand sometimes writers don't want to make the ending too perfect or unrealistically happy, but I was baffled by their choices in episode 16. Btw don't get me wrong, I enjoyed this series and I think both the main actors were fantastic. But there were also some pretty big flaws in the writing and execution of this drama ending, which is sadly enough, quite common. A lot of dramas I've seen over the years have derailed at the end and could have been so much better with tiny fixes here and there. I think you can like something but still be critical of it too...and I always like to critique drama endings - even for some of my most favourite series. If you liked the ending and don't like hard critical writing....you might not want to read ahead I will put my long vent post in the spoiler tag below: I think the ending could have been fixed up by removing at least one of the multiple fights or break-ups. The entire storyline with NYW's dad either had to happen earlier or not at all (eg. They could have removed the whole break up because of Gyeom and had that story about the dad). If they wanted to go down the conflict storyline of NYW building her own house, I would have preferred if the conflict had been about what YJS said and NYW showing him that she was made of tougher stuff. Then having worked through it, NYW builds her dream home together with YJS. Now that I've gotten my vent out of my system, I'm sorry the ending wasn't the greatest @abs-oluteM. I know you were very invested in this pair, especially your Oppa and I understand this pain very well Although a different type of plot, the execution of this ending reminds me so much of the ending of my favourite rom-com drama, Dodosolsolalasol (I'll put the similarities in a spoiler tag below) which also went off track as other people who watched (like @Tofu) would know:
  5. Episode 11 - 16 So I got lazy writing my episode summaries for a few weeks since I accidentally took on too many dramas (for me) and was writing episode summaries left right and centre and watching the Olympics But I just watched the last 2 episodes....and I have so much to say. This is just going to be a mega-post about side characters and then main characters: Ui-Joo + Nam Sang Soon I was glad that these two finally got together because I could sense it awhile before it happened. Probably from the episode where she lined up for him when he needed to go to the toilet in the subscription queue. But then there were more and more moments like UJ telling NSS that he was the perfect guy and trying so hard to set him up. I liked the big reveal that the Rich Guy turned out not to be some sugar daddy as we were all lead to believe, but her father who was a cheater - I think some of the charm of this drama was its cheekiness to tell the truth, but make it appear like it was a joke at times. This reveal also explained so much about her character - why she lived well, why she didn't believe in marriage and why she seemed to have high defensive walls. Once UJ + NSS got together, they were actually quite sweet...that tickle fight in the library and her being comfortable to cry in front of him...such lovely moments I also laughed so hard at that passionate scene which was ruined by NSS calling UJ cutie pie...it was totally UJ's fault for talking about cutie pie all day...but I feel like it was that test that girls sometimes do to try and suss out if the guy is over their ex The only thing I feel is kind of a shame is that their love story seemed to go down the nice route, while the main pairing had so many dragged out make-up-break-up scenes. Gyeom, Chan + Mi Ra Wow, Gyeom, the second lead was involved in 2 love triangles, though I'm not even sure if he was aware of the second one he was stuck in I thought the noble idiocy storyline where YJS tried to sacrifice his relationship for Gyeom was sooo silly. As if NYW was suddenly going to like Gyeom just because he wasn't in the picture Though Gyeom did tell NYW his feelings, I felt it was more for him to get it out of his system so he could get over her rather than him hoping to have a chance with NYW. I'm glad he was a sensible second lead and got YJS to stop 'sacrificing' for him - also I liked that he was genuinely happy for both YJS and NYW once they got back together again and it was YJS, not him, that provided the fake return of cash to NYW. As for Mi Ra, I wish Gyeom liked her! They had so many nice moments together and he was thoughtful towards her... But I guess you don't always romantically like people who you get along with and look after. I also thought it was refreshing that he wasn't perfectly paired up (Gyeom, really showing the true curse of the second lead and being forever alone ) and it was Chan instead who ended up with Mi Ra since he had obviously prepared himself to like her for a long time and was so hurt when she didn't actually like him Haha, also Chan got a lot of judgement for his crush on Mi Ra by Mi Ra's friend, so I guess it was only fair that she would like him after he looked after her and gave her the old piggyback. Chief Editor Hahaha, poor guy who tried very hard to suck up to his boss, but was wrong every single time Not only that but after everyone paired up, he was lonely and wanted work friends to drink with / bad mouth boss with...but he picked the wrong guy in YJS's secretary. That burn when Secretary Hwang said he learns rather than complains Kim won Hae often plays very annoying, but funny characters. This one was extra annoying, but also really quite fun to cringe at - I enjoyed when he was hanging out with YJS and getting the best treatment in expensive food, clothes and trips because YJS found meaning in being generous and he still misunderstood the situation . But hey, he did give good advice about the best thing in life being the feeling of loving someone and being loved in return.
  6. Oooh Thank you for the noms - I appreciate them! I like everyone I've interacted with here so sorry if I've not mentioned anyone, but here's who I've listed. Most Passionate Fan of their Oppa/Unnie - Oppa love can be strong and persistent! I will vote @Chocolate because I find her reactions hilarious whenever one of us suggests she will cheat on Hyun Bin one day Most Ardent Shipper - for the die-hard shippers A shout out to @twinkler0415 @multiloverss @Unnie0110 @eNDe @CINNABOM @purplefin who have continued to post about DDSSLLS couple / actors even though a number of fans gave up after the ending. You have to deeply love a pair to soldier on Most Prolific Poster - this counts for both quantity of posts, but also the posts you most want to read I think so many people write in such nice ways, so it's really hard to pick. But if I had to, I'd say I always enjoy reading @abs-oluteM's posts because they've got great analysis and insight. @stroppyse's posts are lovely for all the translations provided and cultural explanations. @Unnie0110 writes beautifully. @NiteWalker's post are fun. But the person who makes me laugh the most and who I enjoy for fun (mostly Oppa related) posts is @SilverMoonTea. Friendliest Member - the one you greet and want to chat with, even if you sometimes get carried away from the thread topic Another category which is hard Everyone here is friendly I would say I enjoy chatting to @SilverMoonTea and @Jane a lot as both are super friendly and they originally brought me here from the old forums. I definitely also tag @mademoiselle and @abs-oluteM a lot and make them explain things to me since they are so knowledgeable and fun to pick brains of and will humour my posts about stripy jumpers I love talking to @Tofu too since we have a lot of Oppas in common and she's the only one who understands my Taiwanese Oppas. Also for transparency, she gifted me an expensive Chae Jong Hyeop badge recently And @eNDe is always so kind and friendly Most Likely to Recommend a Drama - the one who always has a suggestion for something to watch, even if they sometimes don't watch it themselves I would say a draw between @mademoiselle who not only actively sells me dramas but also Oppas (I remember your SIG tags) and @Tofu who doesn't necessarily sells me dramas but conveniently mentions actors' past projects and future projects and then I'm curious to check them out
  7. Had to split up my assessment of Episode 5 and 6 because it was so late when I was writing yesterday: Episode 6 - I like the idea of a natural order that underlies the magic of this world. Sure, Heera can make wishes come true. But she can't exactly control the consequences or how you will feel about them. And there is the element of fate. It's like the characters stand at the crossroads of a choice and Heera simply guides them to the path they say they want, though she doesn't always tell them what dangers lie ahead -I agree with @ktcjdrama though - it really is a story that is a combination between "Blessings in disguise" and "Be careful what you wish for." Actually I was listening to a podcast about Happiness and how we tend to have this belief that we'll be happier if we get what we what (eg. winning the lottery) and unhappy if something bad befalls us (eg. getting into an accident). But actually a lot of the time, we find there's a bad side to getting good things (eg. winning the lottery, you find a lot of people want to use you for your money and you become very lonely) and we gain happiness from becoming stronger overcoming adversity (eg. Losing a limb from an accident, but then becoming strong and even turning into a para-Olympian). I feel like this series really illustrates that life requires a balance - we need both the good times and the bad. And even if we think life would be better a certain way, we can never really know, so we should just appreciate what we have and work through what we don't - GY is such a sweetheart! Why did Jin stand him up to see TK?! Did TK buy you a dreamcatcher for your nightmares...No! I don't think so Also he cares about how Jin is feeling and totally told her that he's there for support and to listen to her - Ugh TK is so gross. I mean, I knew he was bad news from the start and I was already super suss when he was shielding himself at the bookstore....but Jin is blinded by the magical chocolate. It seems such a shame for her to waste her happiness on that cheating jerk though Haha, I had to laugh that he was dumb enough to come to the hotel without a face mask or anything though. - So sad to see GY so sad. I thought he'd been somewhat careful making his wish to the witch...but as it turns out, maybe not since he might have to be Jin's shadow the rest of her life...not that he minds...but the pain of watching her be miserable over someone else sounds bad I hope that they'll get over this TK arc soon! - Did anyone else think that the son was going to get with the nurse who was looking after his mother in hospital? I was like, here is the future wife!...but then a new lady popped up who turned out to be the homecare nurse and I was like, my bad! Since grandma had to sacrifice so much, I'm glad things turned out to be happy in the end for her wish. @mademoiselle I agree with you - her wish was old fashioned and made without consulting son...Also marriage totally doesn't equal happiness or people would not get divorced! But I guess I differentiate it from the singer because I feel the implication was that her son was a bit of a deadbeat and still immature at 50 and didn't seem to have a connection to the outside world. And it wasn't that she wanted him to marry per say (though she worded it like that because older generation) but she seemed to want him to be more motivated and have the energy to be an adult. In a weird way, I feel like he did become happier and more grown up - not from getting married (though that also was a plus) but from learning to care for his mother and being a more responsible son. So I think the wish worked, not in a straightforward way though as Heera pointed out
  8. Episode 3 - Heh, these episodes are so so so short, but somehow they work and there's a story being told! ..And one with good chemistry. I am approving of every episode ending with some sort of skinship This week's she had her hand over his eyes which was more mild than the hug, but still something! - NDR and KSR have such good chemistry. Although the romance has come on fast, it's very cute in a way that is not sappy or forced. I'm really buying into this pairing a lot! - I had to laugh that NWS is being possessed by grandma though. Grandma is bringing on the skinship on his behalf by making him hug her grand daughter I do think it's a it weird though since she'll see her grandma in him a lot...but hey, whatever creates the bond between them works for me! - I like how mild all the evil spirits are so I can watch this level of 'horror'. Not scary at all The voice of the main evil cloud spirit sounded so cheesy and the upside-down ghost, though a shock to see, was barely powdered white - Also liking the high school supernatural element. It kind of reminds me of things like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Sabrina the Teenage Witch where it's the principal or teachers who turn out to be evil The world of school is the whole world I know right! This one is a fluttery drama Hahaha, I'm dead serious. There's quite a bit of research talking about the reduced attention spans of younger kids from things like Twitter and Tiktok and constant phone usage. 10 minutes on Youtube for new gen is like 2 hour movie time for us They are so cute. I think both actors are quite good at holding an intense gaze and that's why there's a bit of electricity between them They've also got the hard-edged, but fun banter going good. I like them so much This is really cute! I like that connection being shown even in the title Is there only 1 episode this week? I thought it was 2 per week which would make it 40 mins at least?
  9. Yay! Finally finished Signal I enjoyed it - it had good twists (ie. ending on events where you're like how will the main characters come back from this happening?!), a good on-going plot as well as episodic stories. I came for Lee Je Hoon, but I really liked Detective Lee Jae Han's character If only everyone had that sense of morality and doing things because they're the right thing to do not because of money or pride or fear. Only ever seen Cho Jin Woong in films (Spy Gone North, Me and Me) but he was good in this. Could be my new favourite ahjussi Lee Je Hoon's character was also cool the way he worked out everything so quickly. The funny thing is although I didn't ship LJH and KHS, I could see why @SilverMoonTea might have shipped them - they had A LOT of really high tension close face-to-face scenes (like a few centimetres away, fiery glaring at each other). I suppose this is the chemistry that hooked her Like every other series, I did have a few hang ups - mainly the logic of the time travel/ time plane side of the story. I think it was mostly fool-proof until the last couple of episodes where LJH's character woke up into the 'changed' future, but still remembered the alternate past (ie. the past he originally came from with unhappy family). To suspend disbelief and follow time travel/ alteration logic, it doesn't make sense that he would suddenly wake up smack bang into a new 'alternate' life and still remember a life he hadn't lived if the past had changed and therefore, changed the future (ie. he would have had to grow up in the new future timeline and his old life would not have existed, except on another time plane). The merging of times was a bit plothole-y in my opinion. Also found past girly Cha Soo-Hyun (KHS's character) a bit annoying...she just seemed so doe-eyed and clingy all the time to Lee Jae Han that it was a bit grating to watch. But her hard-ass future self was great Wish they had shown the characters all meeting in the end, but at least it was a happy ending for Lee Jae Han. All in all a good watch! Thanks for listening to my thoughts 5 years too late...At least I have seen it now!
  10. I'm finishing off Signal for Oppa Lee Je Hoon, but oh my god...on episode 15 and I feel like I'm going to be so mad in a minute. Damn that corrupt cop!!! He's going to kill the brother!
  11. Episode 5 - I was so sad because Jin stood up GY and ending up going out with swarmy TK instead And poor GY even bought her a thoughtful present (a pretty dreamcatcher because he remembered that she was struggling with nightmares! This guy is too sweet ) - But to be fair to Jin, she doesn't really look like she's in love either. More like she's in a trance and can't stop what she's choosing to do - I think our feelings about GY possibly being like Director/ CEO oh are correct @mademoiselle. I mean, GY's wish was to stay by her side forever and now he's being comforted by the guy...and his flashback to his wish was the exact same...he just wanted to be by Heera's side, even if she never loved him. Poor Director Oh - Aw, GY's dad is so chill and nice, telling his son to do whatever he feels is right for him and not to live according to expectations. Is he really an Asian parent though? I really liked what he said about there not only being one right path...and I feel like that will be the case for Jin too. - Poor GY looked so sad when he found out Jin was seeing someone and his reaction when he tells her she deserves better Haha, he is the better choice if she can wait a few years - Looks like the visiting witch is Heera's mum? Or a guiding witch who acts like a mother to her? - At least 2 fingers guy got a decent wish = rich girlfriend and a good office job! - This episode made me sad because TK got so much airtime, but GY didn't ...but one thing I really like is how often they have scenes where GY walks Jin home and they have nice little conversations...it's so cute! -Memories is such a high price!!! But I guess the elderly lady was getting old anyway and she knew her sacrifice was for the greater good of her son
  12. Hahaha, I can and I will fault Ariel I mean, she was a bad influence for my generation!!! Look at Mulan. Now there's a Disney heroine who had some backbone! I see @stroppyse has the same feelings as me about The Little Mermaid too Haha, although I agree that the story was made in a different era, I do think even if she was to fall in love, she could have been less annoying and giggly. My friend did say in Ariel's defence that she's a teenager, so maybe that accounts for her silliness. Whereas now I relate to Ursula because I'm jaded and old(er) Hahaha, This is very solid advice But so true. No one can stay hot forever! No one is worth your dignity and if you have to trade it to get them to notice you/ take you back, they're definitely not worth it. I find it hard to like people who don't like me anyway if I'm trying to be nice to them...I could never understand those people who try to grovel to the 'popular' kids at school, chase after a good looking but mean guy etc. I mean, is it fun to torture yourself? I think sometimes people are so caught up in the idea of 'being rejected' that they don't think, 'Hey, actually that person is not as kind/ genuine/ loving as they were meant to be if they could just get angry/ be mean to me/ dump me for this small reason' I totally agree with you. Though I guess to be fair to the singer/ actress, her boyfriend did gaslight and say those nasty things to her when they were breaking up about how she was never going to make it since she had been trying all these years and hadn't had her big break. So I guess she was influenced by her fears that nothing would work out for her including her relationships. I think sometimes when people have been in long shitty relationships they don't realise how bad their situations are ill they're shown it (ie. how the doctor was so lovely about her singing and had same interests as her). But she definitely shouldn't have been so desperate to latch onto a cheating guy...she could have fixed her fears by wishing for her singing dreams to come true! Haha does this actress always play roles with inferiority complex?! Yayyy glad you're joining us! You've just listed everything I love about this series too! And yesss, I want a happy Jin-Gil Yong ending too. It doesn't have to be a super obvious happy ending, but they both can't be dating other people...and make it somewhat cute! Join ussss
  13. Ah, yes, I've heard that casting rumour, but so far haven't heard confirmation yet! But there might be a more definite response now that Monthly Magazine Home has ended. I feel like actors who get late offers while they have a current drama airing often wait till afterwards to confirm or reject (so it doesn't distract from their current project). At least it's happened a few times to my notice.
  14. Yes, I agree - I think part of what I like about this series is the friendships and the cute blossoming relationships. There's something heart warming and cute about the way they play not just to win, but to be part of a community Same sentiments all the way. I think TS's story was a bit strange to dive back into so late in the game (pun!) I think it would have been more interesting if he was more linked to the actual teams we follow, ie. if he became part of that team again or if he had helped to coach them or something. But as it is, it was weird to see his story when it was all for him to be inspired by the boys in one episode...? But I do think his story also shows that people can pick themselves up and try again when they fail, so I suppose there is value in adding that in a sport's story. Just wish it was executed better Please let it happen! Fingers are crossed! I haven't seen Prison Playbook . I agree it's probably the 3 different storylines...but it's not a bad thing. It's probably what gives this story it's quirky charm and warmth. The story is told with lots of strange twists and surprises which is nice. The trade off is that the flow is sometimes disrupted. I have less of an issue with the villager's storyline than with TS's storyline, which feels like it should somehow relate more to the main story. I don't think the disrupted airing times help much either! But I've enjoyed this series a lot and it was such a happy show to pick up Hahaha, but I love the Olympics It's what's been keeping me motivated while I work from home!
  15. When they haven't found the female lead yet, but have added a few more side characters... Is he the trashy evil guy who is mean to the villagers in Racket Boys @mademoiselle?
  16. Thanks for the badge @Tofu I love it!!! Poor Mimi got bumped off for Chae Jong Hyeop though
  17. Ohhhh hey, I have all the same problems as you too! I guess offices are more set up for working. I have a bit of a light issue - it's either too light or too dark depending on where the sun is going. Agreed, work chair is definitely more comfortable too (probably because companies spend more money on furtniture). And I miss all my lunch buddies too And yeah, exercise is forgotten! Haha, makes total sense...if you didn't have to work, you wouldn't be stuck in one spot trying to concentrate. You can appreciate Oppas while laying down on your couch or something
  18. Oppps...I think I left it off his filmography. I didn't watch that drama though He was really pretty as a blonde actually
  19. I prefer working from the office to be honest! And I agree with you mixed weeks would be better than just having the one option. Why don't you like working from home, @SilverMoonTea? I guess there are some things I like about WFH, but there's also many things I don't like about it. I like wearing home clothes and rocking up to work 15 mins before it's due to start But those MBTI tests always have me as an ambivert with slightly more extroverted tendencies, so sometimes I feel a bit lonely working from home and not seeing my workmates. It's hard to solve problems sometimes when you have to explain things over zoom over email. And I miss going out after work, though it's keeping me safe from covid not to. Can totally relate - I miss eating out too Time for home deliveries again! Hahaha, wow, just once a week? That's barely any time at all in the office! Was this the same pre-covid or just happened post covid? Everyone is becoming home cleaning experts. I've been cleaning a draw/ shelf a day too Hmmm, ok I'm going to check out this restaurant after covid too. It's a good idea to check out new places. Covid has made our lives all very monotonous so I think you just have to shake things up in any way that you can! Hahaha, I will join you all in the foodies thread. Need to pick both you and @mademoiselle's brains as to where I should go for food after lockdowns since we can't travel and I need some routine breakers Oh nooo...I don't like when friends cancel and then you have to reschedule....it's always so hard as an adult! Haha, maybe it was a blessing in disguise though - you can have a better meal hopefully once lockdown ends! Hahaha, difficulty waking up = it is still the same WFH. Maybe even worse, since you end up staying up later knowing you can roll out of bed and still get to work desk on time Yeah, totally agree - You sit at home sooo much especially if your after work hobby is to watch dramas Good to know! Can we get vaxed here already @mademoiselle?? I've not been keeping up with anything. Hahaha I know! Gotta remember to still wake up early and go to work tomorrow
  20. Yeah it's sad...how is everyone holding up? I've been working from home so it wasn't making much of a difference for me anyway. But I was going to catch up with friends on Saturday which isn't happening now! @mademoiselle where were you planning to go for your dinner? @TRaNz what's Hazel?? I've been meaning to check out the foodies thread. I am a foodie! But it's been hard with lockdown so I've kind of just gone to my favourite old places rather than explore anywhere new. A number of my friends are also not foodies so I sometimes find it hard to check out new places, especially if they're fancy
  21. Haha, Thank you. I'm sure there's many more stripy jumpers to look out for! Me too! It's such a weird colour combination. But I guess still less offensive than the red and purple jumper combination. Haha, I don't like orange as a colour either (dark orange makes me feel sick), but for some weird reason, I feel it works with this jumper combination. Hahaha you already proved my point. Need to add into a jumper collage I can't remember the kiss from My Love from Another Star, but just watched that clip from Secret posted before ....and ughhh....did not look right with the romantic song on top Looks like she was not enjoying herself at all, more like she was being forced into it. It's not a good kiss if she's trying to squirm out of it...I mean, she shouldn't look repulsed right? But was that scene from Secret really romantic?! Isn't it more romantic if she actually responds accordingly to show she likes the guy and is in the moment? I have no context of the storyline, but on visual alone - Here it looks like the guy either has low social skills because he's not realising she's not into him at all or he's a bad kisser or has bad breath because she's trying really really hard to get away I tend to like my guys with good social skills/ respect/ good kissing skills and minty freshness so the moment is enjoyable, not spent trying to escape ? Haha, what was that Soompi ajusshi talking about though?! This kiss is fine. But just bad Kdrama frozen style. I do think it's good people are more aware of these things though - if you've ever known someone who was assaulted, it's not fun for them to have to relive those moments even in entertainment Also, it's good to be critical of storylines/ themes etc otherwise those stereotypical 90's dramas would never have developed. But it would be nice not to have 'cancel culture' and really angry stans cancelling things they don't agree with - it is good to be able to discuss things that people might not agree about. But I think it's actually Knetz with more power than international audiences anyway since TV ratings still important. Haha, I don't believe you I give it a month Anyone else want to place bets for when this crush will end? Hahaha all my favourite Oppas are around 180-190cm Some of the actresses are tall too though - there's a few around the 170cm height which is pretty tall
  22. I was so excited to watch Racket Boys but then I saw the date on Netflix
  23. I'm into this pair! Who else will watch? Should I start a thread?
  24. Yep, you're not the only one who wants that! I've seen this said so many times on Twitter They are just too cute together! Hahaha, we are collecting nice pics of our favourite new Oppa... We're not the only ones...The Swoon Netflix made this post for Chae Jong Hyeop only https://www.instagram.com/p/CSBnEDOpj2-/
  25. That poor unfortunate souls song is catchy! You know, when I as a kid I loved Ariel. But then I watched this movie a few years back for work and was like....wow, Ariel sure is annoying Like really, she's going to give up everything for a guy she thinks is hot because she saw him once on a boat?! After that Ursula became my favourite character But personally, if I was going to be a witch I'd wanna look as smoking cool as Song Ji Hyo And nooo...this is too ominous.... what's going to become of my two favourites Credit: Dream
