  1. Haha I like the conman and anti-hero dramas...as long as they're not doing it to helpless people (conning old poor grandmas) Chae Jong Hyeop is on the eye candy tier of my Oppa list too. He's so adorable But I need to seem him in a more main role and see if he brings the feels I'm not watching Nevertheless and don't intend to - heard it's going to be one of those dramatic they like each other-they don't type of dramas which would kill me...but please ruin the ending for me when it's finished I wanted to read the webtoon spoilers, but can't find any with English translations. I heard a lot of people were traumatised by it and I'd like to know why! Hahaha "Greedy for better roles" ...What a way to put it I love that Ferrero Rocher made you decide to adopt CJH Now I'm craving chocolate Those photos are sooooo hot He is one Oppa who knows how to work his charm. Haha I think I'm with the Lees - Lee Jae Wook, Lee Je Hoon, Lee Do Hyun, Lee Seung Gi... But Lee Min Ho and Lee Jong Suk don't speak to me at all, haha I've caught up on Racket boys so I'm thinking of starting Monthly house! That gif is so pretty! Ok! I do like healing dramas. If I slog through the first couple of episodes, maybe I'll enjoy it. I think Dramabeans is one of the drama analysis blogs/ communities that I really enjoy because their thoughts and opinions always make sense to me Hahaha...well, I'm not sure what he did to offend me so much since he use to be my Oppa a very long time ago too. But now I have a strong aversion. I think I just really don't like the projects he picks.
  2. True, I wouldn't say YJG showcased strong acting, more that his character was likeable and probably easy to digest as a whole. He was much more appealing in Beyond Evil and gave his character all the layers needed since he needed to come across as suspicious, paranoid but also straight-laced, truth-seeking and diligent. His chemistry was so good with SHK. They couldn't stop bantering with each other Well, he earned his adoption from Beyond Evil for me...before that I didn't really care too much to look into him
  3. Not interested in The Devil Judge but came to tell you your potential oppa is cute Also I feel like @Tofu's reactions to certain dramas is a good warning sign to me since we tend to like similar actors and styles This sounds interesting, but potentially heavy (I don't like heavy dramas...or the kinds that take themselves too seriously) But from the Dramabeans description, the roles sound challenging and I really would love to see LDH in such a different role from his previous likeable characters. Regardless of character though, he's so easy on the eyes The plot kind of reminds me of more Western storylines like Notes on a Scandal etc. I adopted LDH from Hotel Del Luna I liked IU with both guys, but if you asked me who was more charming when I watched the show I would definitely tell you LDH I lived for his scenes in that drama. Yesss, this is another good series @Tofu ...I just loved the way they solved the team's problems and the acting was so good. JBG and PEB were so adorable in it and NKM was just too cool. I've been watching completed dramas too...There's so many things I'm wanting to watch that I missed a few years ago like Signal and Shopping King Louie I thought he did good in Hotel Del Luna, was that rom com? But yes, he was definitely a strong actor in Beyond Evil. He gave the character a lot of energy and soul. HAHA He is such an old man ahjussi trapped in a young good looking Oppa body Yeah, PHS's face is a bit rounder! It's been awhile, but he still seems charming. Hopefully he picks a project I like! Oh my god. This looks so good. Scary, but good I am definitely watching this movie. Hopefully Korean Film Festival goes ahead this year and this gets picked and I can watch it there
  4. Lockdown again...haha didn't we only just get out of one, @SnowBlob @mademoiselle @TRaNz? The silver lining is now I'll be able to catch up on all my JH threads and spam post to all your comments
  5. Haha I agree. That series was full of beautiful men Both the mum and daughter were so lucky with so many options to pick from Glad you loved it too! I also finished it as a post-live watch and enjoyed it a lot last year So you recommend?? Would I like it? Some real life Korean ahjussi recommended it me but I didn't know if I should trust his tastes since I didn't know him personally and didn't know his tastes
  6. Thanks for the list! I'll will put these on my catch up lists. Shopping King Louis is already on that list, but just finding the time to catch up on everything...I was meant to start Signal, but then caved in to Racket Boys, which I'm enjoying a lot, so no regrets LMH?! Nooooo... Haha, are you a big fan or is it just a coincidence? Wow you are loyal to a lot of Kim's @abs-oluteM! Haha, I've discovered more and more over the years that I can't really stand Ji Chang Wook's projects Or maybe he's just not my choice in Oppas. I'm not drawn to him in any way. LOL What is that scream?! Haha, it's ok, I'm also scared of bugs so we can scream together. (But who will save us??? ) Hahaha, I'm glad I didn't insult your greatest love and it's not escaped my notice that you have a harem of Chinese Oppas @Tofu Hahaha...I think PSJ is not totally wrong, but I think he could have said his thoughts a lot more nicely and indicated it's just his preference rather than saying kids turn bad without a caring parent. I guess being a working mum and caring mum is not mutually exclusive and his example of kids becoming criminals would probably offend a lot of people (ie. there've been white collar crime criminals and school shooters who had stay at home parents...some people would think his words sound a bit harsh, but aren't foolproof? ) I see you will apply to be stay at home wife if it's staying-at-home-with-no-kids @SilverMoonTea Noooo...why did they do that to my darling Yoon Park. I love this guy, but he's always just a tiny bit short of playing the first lead I think he was the main lead in that really short series, Birthcare Centre which I was going to try, but then didn't have time to try. Too many Oppas, too little time Hahaha coming on strong with SIG Oppa promotional content! I promise I'll watch at least one of his old series before the year ends He is really good looking. Haha...does it cheer you up to know everytime you get SLS your heart gets stronger for the next time it happens? (Is that even true? I don't know ) Why did my Oppa only get 1 vote Hahaha...BUT I do love Lee Do Hyun too. He's been Oppa since Hotel Del Luna. But I just couldn't bring myself to watch Youth of May. Did you end up liking it any better in the end @mademoiselle? LOL. It's this and that damn stripy jumper...I posted about it in Racket Boys thread: I'm looking forward to him being in a movie with Kim Hye Yoon - Midnight. I think he plays a serial killer? Me too! I think I like heroes that are vigilantes, or who are unreliable narrators or have an interesting and potentially darker storyline Is this my love of bad boys coming out again?
  7. I'm up to episode 10 now but will do my write up tomorrow. Just wanted to say I love this series Also Se-Yoon and Hae-Kang are so cuteeeee. That's all
  8. I feel really bad for her. I think offering and retracting a role to someone is worse than never offering it in the first place And I hope she's able to get back up again even though this has been quite a low point. But I was surprised that they offered it to someone so new (she has literally only been in The School Nurse Files as a side actor once. Most actors are side characters a few times before they're offered a main role). Anyway, while I have no feelings for or against Jung So Min...a part of me was like...please offer this to GAR because you saw their chemistry in DDSSLLS!! I know...poor LJW...he always seems to have a pause-filming issue everytime he's lead. Last time with DDSSLLS someone caught covid and they had to stop filming for a fortnight to quarantine everyone and make sure they didn't have covid. Now there's this lead actress issue. I hope it'll be resolved soon! Also, where are you Go Ara??? Missing these two together!
  9. I'm really enjoying this series and playing catch up as we speak! I'm a big softie for series that are about community and this one sits so much in that genre - both in terms of small village community and sports team community Episodes 4-6 - I have to say TJS has such talent. I bought his performances in Crash Landing and Move to Heaven, but I'm also really enjoying his competitive cocky persona in this series. He also has a really charming smirk and I see him playing more tsundere characters in the future too. I wish I had the confidence that HK has in that he really believes in himself, but also seems to have really strong resilience. He gets down on his mistakes...but then he bounces back up and tells everyone he's the best because he thinks about crushing his opponent next time (Ie. yellow hair guy) Where can I get some of this confidence?! - I felt so sad that HK started playing baseball because people cared more for it than badminton even though they were doing so well...what made me even more sad was his fake friends who threw the burgers out than his dad got for them Like what bratty kids!!! I would have picked up those burgers and shoved it into their mouths!!! I think it also explains why HK is so stand-offish at first...he kind of keeps people at arm's length because of past fake friends...but I like that he lets these guys in because he feels they're genuine - HAHAHAHA oh my god. The hotel name 'Come as Two, Leave as Three'?!? I'm not sure that's enticing especially for a love hotel. I thought people only swung by for affairs, not procreation - I was pretty mad at irresponsible coach dad...the kids took it so well! I would have raged at him for sleeping in, being hung over and going to the wrong place...not to mention booking them into a dodgy hotel with no running hot water - I love the friendships! Especially between nerdy kid IS and HK. I like that IS volunteered to tutor him and also came up for a strategy that helped him beat yellow haired kid. And I like how the boys automatically embrace IS...which is nice because he really wanted friends YT broke my heart when he thought WC was dead (even though it was for his bday surprise). Everything is so warm and cute in their friendships, even though sometimes they're competitive and bicker with each other - I love that they lie on each other's tummies while staring at the stars - Hehe, I feel like the reason HK and grandma get along so well is that they're both tsundere characters...grandma is so outwardly picky and naggy to the city couple, but still does nice things for them out of care...and HK is like that with his teammates. Pretends he's only playing badminton for wifi when he really loves hanging out with them all - The city couple's mural for grandma's house is so cool...and this series has quirkier villagers than other small town/ village series that I've seen, but as weird as they are, I also still like their comedic qualities and their neighbourly dynamics for the drama - You know I wasn't expecting romance, but SY and HK are so cute together. I feel like they have better tension than some adult K-drama couples I've seen this year....that scene in the fields where they were shyly walking together was adorable. It's so nice to see HK understand SY's softer side and to see him look after her in a quiet way (even though he's normally so loud), It's sweet - Episode 6 where they skip training to go have fun but end up getting jobs had a sad darkness about it...it's true that in the wider world there's lots of adults you can't trust. I wanted the head construction worker guy to be good since the young guy played by Kim Sung Cheol (Do You Like Brahms? guy!) was clearly a jerk...but it was so realistic that he also cheated them out of their money and wouldn't want to keep in contact with them But it's nice that it ended on a hopeful note since it showed their dads and coaches caring for them all! - I love, love, love HI, HK's little sister. How cute is she?! And I thought it was so cute that everyone wanted to make her feel loved by giving her a buffet and theatre and she rejected them all - Finally, my most important topic....It's the return of that damn stripy jumper!!! Has every guy in Korea got one of those? Or is it just Kdrama actors?! (Sorry if you've all had a deep discussion about this already - haven't read back on this thread to avoid spoilers till I catch up.) The same jumper but on other actors...
  10. Hehe, yay! Glad to see you'll be watching. I miss LJW and so I'll watch the drama just for him. I don't even normally watch sageuks but if it's his next project, I will give it a go Also hoping they sort out the female lead soon. It's a shame...when DDSSLLS was filming it also had to stop filming early on due to someone catching covid. Poor LJW! It hasn't gone so smoothly on his lead role projects
  11. This drama is so cute Episodes 1-3 - The opening credits are so cute with the little pixel racket boys! - Haha Tang Joon Sang is so much fun as the competitive and cocky Yoon Hae Kang in this series. So different from his past characters...but it makes me laugh that he's more talk than action - not that he doesn't take action, but that he's so super confident...but sometimes not that good - I also like the humour and weird twists in this series so much - I love how they make something seem sinister, but then it's actually something really silly and trivial...ie. grandpa digging a hole in the middle of the night...to bury YTK's curry...or it looks like the boys will fight when YHK finds them hanging with their former friend...but he's just upset that they didn't order his food and when they do, things are totally fine. Or another example is that you think NWC is mad at his little friend after losing the evaluation, but it turns out he is stressed about his dad actually caring about his sports life for a change - What's with the strange emotional couple though? Don't tell me they've really come down to commit suicide in this town?! - While I love the weird sudden twists, such as the girl team's coach, Coach Ranos being the mother and the Head coach being the white wolf, I'm a little confused about some of the flow of the story because it comes out later and much slowly. I still didn't feel like the coach was the mum, but later on in episode 3 I could see he was ignoring her since she was absent from their lives - Haha, that snobby straight A student is the little brother from True Beauty... also the interviewer is Jung Je from Beyond Evil. I see you all
  12. @Unnie0110 @eNDe @multiloverss @purplefin @twinkler0415 I've made a thread for Lee Jae wook's new drama...no pressure to join, but if you do end up watching the series feel free to chat...and post drama news here
  13. Yeah I have the same feelings as you. It's a strange series...I'm not charmed by it either? He's so beautiful Honestly, he has a look that I always like whenever I see Wonder if he will suddenly wake up or something But that fall looks like it would definitely kill someone if they took it
  14. Something positive happened recently in terms of personal issue which makes me feel I might be able to live watch dramas again and because I bothered with You are my Spring (which I'm not so keen on), I figured I should watch this show even if I'll be slack on recaps. I just watched first episode and it's so cute! Potato competition? Dream Day? And is that the girl from The Uncanny Counter? I love this show already! I feel bad that it's not a live-live watch since I was so flat out earlier, but at least I'm catching the tail end?
  15. Cast: Lee Jae Wook Jung So Min Hwang Min Hyun Arin Oh Na Ra Joo Sang Wang Plot: The fate of these people become twisted due to "hwanhonsool" (the soul of the dead return to the living). In the country of Daeho, Jang Wook (Lee Jae-Wook) comes from the noble Jang family. He holds an unpleasant secret about his birth, which people all around the country talk about. He is troublemaker. Jang Wook happens to meet Mu-Deok (Jung So-Min). She is an elite warrior, but her soul is trapped in a physically weak body. She becomes Jang Wook’s servant, but she also secretly teaches him how to fight. Seo Yool (Minhyun) comes from the noble Seo family. He seems perfect with good appearance, intelligence, and strong martial arts skills. Go Won (Shin Seung-Ho) is the crown prince of Daeho. He hopes to become a generous king.
  16. This is such a strange situation - I did think it was strange that they gave her the lead role even though she had only done one side character role before. But it would be a lot of pressure to do a lead role without that experience before. There's also darker speculations that production thought she was not experienced and wanted to replace her or they wanted a more famous face to pull numbers. I think I'll start a new thread so that we can talk about this separate drama there...This thread should just be left for beautiful Go Ara and Lee Jae wook news A few cute edits of Lala and Jun: https://www.instagram.com/p/CQLk0uyjVTK/ https://www.instagram.com/p/CRCOhDkAY2-/ https://www.instagram.com/p/CQ6GFSmDD8o/ By the way, recently I've gotten lots of conversation about DDSSLLS on Youtube. One person responded to something I wrote about the ending when I first watched it and was mad...and they were actually defensive about the series...while it was weird because I love this series (and have gotten over this ending), so they didn't need to convince me, I liked that they obviously loved the series too and enough to go around trying to make people less upset with the ending too Another person was super rant-y about the ending, but it's because they loved the drama and was sad about the ending like us...but I'm so glad to know that my essay made them feel better about the series!
  17. @Tofu I saw this today! I did think it was crazy that they gave her a lead role though she had only done one side character role in her entire life, but figured she must be really good. But I think it would be a lot of pressure...though I'm surprised she dropped out! If I had a chance to be female lead in a romance with LJW I would not drop out even if they told me I was a terrible actress I suppose the other darker reason is that they may have found her to be good at audition, but then less experienced at filming and wanted to replace her. Or they decided to use a famous actor to pull more viewers. I think the offer has gone to Jung So Min who is currently on Monthly Magazine home and she's considering it. I think it wouldn't be a bad choice, but LJW would be paired with Noona in the 30's once again...haha, not that I mind
  18. Noooo....I saw the little thumbnail for 8th Night on Netflix scrolling down and freaked out because it was creepy head tilting girl. No way am I watching that. Not even in daylight!
  19. @mademoiselle Oh yeah I forgot Lee soo Hyuk was a vampire in Scholar who walks in the night. It was a reference from that for sure. As for Park Bo Young, she charms all those tall men with her tiny cuteness Hehe, I've liked her with almost all her co-stars. Park Hyung Sik, Anh Hyo Seop and Seo In Guk were all cute pairings even though the stories weren't super strong (especially Abyss which was so trashy). Still haven't had time to watch the BTS videos yet, but I look forward to it! Hahaha, yeah, in my youth I also felt protective of my Oppas Especially Jasper...But now it's like I've been married too long. Me: "Feel free to have him as long as he's still mine too" I laugh at the failed Chinese, but I appreciate the effort all the same! I think this was sold on SIG and PBY's chemistry alone. The story wasn't particularly logical, though I guess we all analysed it about a page back if you're looking for answers. To be honest, I love PBY, but her last few fantasy dramas haven't been fantastic in the storylines...But her chemistry with her co-stars have been pretty sweet. It almost always feels so real
  20. I've watched the first 2 episodes now! I'm not sure about this drama - but not because Yoon Park plays a potential sociopath (Because I find that quite interesting!) and I'm pretty sure he'll be Oppa no matter what but more because I don't care much for the main female lead? I find her character somewhat annoying and hard to relate to. I think I should feel sorry for her given her background, but I find the words that come out of her mouth to be quite harsh? Second female lead (the psych's ex wife) also feels quite annoying to me in a different way - she's just too silly that I find her unbelievable. I do like the main psych though - his ability to analyse others feels interesting. The other thing I don't love is how confusing the dialogue is. I find it hard to follow their conversations. It's like trying to be quirky but not hitting the mark. And I feel like it's not quite hitting romance or thriller for me yet. It's a bit slow burn maybe? The only thing I've enjoyed in the storyline is a big twist at the end of ep 2. I was totally shocked! Here I was expecting him to be a total creep and than BAM! Well, I guess then it's unlikely he was bad or totally bad Also wondering this See, this is my disappointment every time I pick up a Yoon Park series. If lack of Yoon Park in future episodes, I might drop this one since this is my only real reason to watch this series. I like my thrillers exciting, with good pacing and a bit of humour/ wittiness. This series feels slow burn and perhaps a bit too emotionally heavy for me. With that said, I'm sooo curious about the mysteries that I still feel compelled to find out why things have happened....so I may still watch. Otherwise I'll bother y'all for spoilers
