  1. Thanks for the share @Tofu! I just love agency shots...they always get the nicest stills of the actors His smile is too cute...can't someone kill you just by smiling at you?!
  2. Yayyyy, it's D Day! Hasn't dropped where I am but hopefully by night it will!
  3. The Lee Jae Wook Interview with Esquire has been released He talks a lot about Jang Woo in this interview but it was nice to hear a Japanese fan saying she hoped Jun would also be mentioned in the full magazine article...I assume she'll buy the magazine and share if there's anything Interview: https://www.esquirekorea.co.kr/article/57093
  4. It's LJW for Esquire Interview: https://www.esquirekorea.co.kr/article/57093
  5. Episodes 6 - 7 - I really enjoy KJS's antics as the stingy but adorable YJS. He's very good at pulling all the comical moves that make YJS both annoyingly immature and endearing. Ever since the first episode I have been charmed by him saying "Stop!" What made me laugh in these episodes were the very threatening compliments...They were all so backhanded when delivered through YJS' mouth - I laugh a lot at the misunderstandings between YJS and NYW, but I guess it's been awhile since I watched a traditional tsundere CEO rom-com because it does drive me a little crazy at times when they misunderstand each other over something really, really small and YJS blows super hot-and-cold towards NYW - eg. when YJS gets cranky and makes her stay back and write an article way before deadline because she gives compliments to everyone and thing. I mean he's still pretty harsh at times in ep 6 and 7....when it's clear that he likes NYW and should show it, damn it! - That subscription crazy NSS nearly pooping himself in line for the subscription was such potty humour but I couldn't but laugh. It's nice that his colleague UJ did come to help him! Will these 2 be a pair?? - The scene of YJS and NYW having dinner at that Japanese restaurant under the blossom tree was so cute and warm...it reminds you of dates that have been easy and fun to go on - I think so far Ep 6 featured one of my favourite luxury properties surveyed which is the pet house! They had such crazy facilities for the doggies...and it was just such a fun and outrageous concept for a house. Wonder if it's real? - I love that the water damage in the apartment set up one of favourite rom-com tropes: Becoming accidental housemates...that's when the real romantic tension starts...so was super excited to see them end up somehow in the same bed! - YJS looking after NYW during the night was totally sweet - Haha, poor Chief editor always tries so hard to suck up to the CEO and YJS totally contradicts him every time especially when he kept accidentally linking NYW and YJS together not knowing they lived together -Gyeom royally stuffs up as a second lead here by pre-empting all the things NYW needs just by overhearing her conversation...haha he tries so hard to be helpful by driving her to the station and buying her ticket, but it's so far from her real plans. It's very rare that the second lead gets things so wrong (this sort of stuff up is usually first lead territory) that it was oddly funny. - Finally, we see more of YJS's sad backstory...can't believe he grew up in a van No wonder he was motivated to by as many houses as he did. - The ending of this episode was so sweet and says volumes about what the value of a home is compared to a house. YJS has been missing the feeling of home and security, but has mistaken it to just be financial security. NYW, waiting for him and greeting him on the saddest of days, was quite touching I see pleasant spoilers!
  6. Wondering if it's just this streaming site or all the streaming sites? It would be all of them right...so they're making it weekly, right? Hahaha I know right? Lala barely taught Jun any lessons...In fact, I think he taught himself how play Pleasure of Love and played it to ask her out You're right, Jun's guitar skills meant he was only pretending to be her student Her only real students were Jae Min and grandpa CJH was clutching onto that gym ball like there was no tomorrow! He looks like he has a model's figure, but he is actually quite strong
  7. Hahaha I'm too poor. Don't think I even have 500 points...and I don't know really know who this Oppa is to tell the truth (sorry) Hey, hey, hey! LJW is 23....not 21!
  8. Jasper is doing pretty well though in like the 8 years I've followed his existence Also I'm still in shock that Chae Jong Hyeop is 28 @Tofu requested a shrine which I have made, so come join us if you also like this baby Join us join us ...feel like I'm starting a cult...But like a fun cult... @SilverMoonTea what happened to your Oppa's expensive badge? It's already broken!
  9. Hahaha, I think I only finished it because I was going through a hard time (in real life) and it was good just to see Jasper and have a plot that was so cliche it didn't require much thinking I don't really watch C-dramas because I find the romance too cliche. I've been forced to test the waters because Jasper is there almost all the time these days though Haven't tried the other genres but. Hahaha... @SilverMoonTea Your Oppa tracker is good for sharing Oppa organisation and tier sorting tips
  10. A present for you @Tofu to spam us all with CJH joy

  12. One of the crew members posted these shots awhile ago before I made this thread, but I'm guess this footage will now have to be reshot since the change of leads I can't say much for the whole body of their works, as I've heard many of their titles are a hit or miss. I did personally enjoy Hotel Del Luna though and thought the ending was tied up well for a ghost romance story. I have also oddly enough seen Sassy Girl Chun-hyang which I remember liking at the time of watch...but it's sooooo dated that I would never re-watch or recommend. I also remember the second lead ahjussi to be so annoying and stalkerish to the main girl who was in high school?! I don't mind JSM, so if they do work together I'll watch. Haha, it seems like LJW will have another large age gap with his noona co-star then I'm thinking it's all speculation now and your theory sounds plausible too since they've had big names like IU and So Ji Sub take on their roles so maybe they didn't want the leads to be newbies (LJW also hasn't been in the industry long). It seems like PHE got through the script-reading ok and they had even started filming (as shown through photos above), but then she was dropped. There was 2 types of reporting - one camp saying she was apparently a 'bad' actress and had been let go of. And another camp saying that she felt pressure as a new actress and had 'quit.' I don't think she quit, but also don't think she's a bad actress at all... But she is a very very new and young actress. She's only been credited once as a side character in The School Nurse Files, so kind of a strange choice for a lead I guess given that she probably didn't have as much filming experience: https://asianwiki.com/Park_Hye-Eun_(actress) I've written my theory a few times so I'll just paste it here since I'm lazy to rewrite: I'm guessing she didn't have enough experience in front of the camera, which doesn't make her a bad actress at all, but may mean that it would be hard for them to direct her and really sucks because it meant she was asked to leave Being an actor is more than just knowing your lines (which she was probably good at)...it's also making the right expressions, knowing where to stand and move in front of a camera in a scene, knowing where to look, conveying emotion through expression and voice, building chemistry with your co-star, whether in a fight scene or crying scene or kissing scene I think the Directors etc might have regretted the work it would take to train her, so there was pressure for her to step down. Ooohhh...Then I guess they will have to change the logo too... Thanks for taking the time to explain the meanings to us! Did I mention I've started learning Korean? It's tricky for me, so don't be surprised if I tag you begging for homework help!
  13. Just noticed one of the links wasn't showing...so here is PHE's own Insta post about her leaving the drama. It's a shame because she did look pretty in costume :( Park Hae Eun said on her Instagram caption: "It's sad & complicated but hope for them to finish well without trouble, as everyone has good intentions. I thank the people who are concerned. The post will be take down shortly."
  14. Hahaha it's ok! I'm glad you made it and for HIY's sake too Things are getting better on my end - Thanks for the thought (and yayyy I'm back to watching dramas and typing essays on JH ). Still undecided about whether I'll watch this one because JCW , but the webtoon looks cool and I like HIY and CSE, so there's a chance!
  15. Hahaha...you have another long crush then? Wow that is an expensive badge. But I thought you were rich from your popular threads? Wait, so Yoon Park's character is an identical twin?! I feel like this is unsettling - there's probably going to be some big twist and they were both evil etc. My Oppa Tiers - Work your way up in my heart! Tier 1: VIP Oppas Tier 2: Significant/ Strongly-attractive Oppas Tier 3: Eye Candies Haha, yea, I've heard that about the series! On the one hand people are loving it for the smexy scenes, it's more mature/ looks at realistic rather than ideal relationships and Han So Hee / Song Kang / Chae Jang Hyeop all currently have big, growing fan bases. On the other hand, people are disturbed by the toxic nature of the male lead character, especially if they stick with the same storyline as the webtoon. I have also heard it's frustrating to watch Nabi's choices, especially because it's no secret that male lead is a player. And sounds like a lot of the fandom is focused on the smexiness as opposed to the lessons about getting into toxic people. And some people just can't relate with the characters...I'm in the second camp, though I'm still interested in hearing how this series will end and I like seeing CJH's stills pop up on Twitter I'm praying for Simon to be in a lead role - he has strong Oppa power in my eyes. Also he's so funny and charismatic that all the interviews and fan meets would be so so so fun to watch You're right, there's such limited opportunities in Taiwan since there's only a handful of drama produced at any one time and their celebrity industry has grown too. I'd prefer him in a Taiwanese drama, but I guess I'd try a Chinese one if he did get offered! I probably would have even watched Love is Science if they had put him as male lead. But I hope he gets something better than that! Hahaha what drama did you and Abs suffer through for your Oppa? I think I suffered through Use for my Talent for Jasper. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't amazing and exciting either. First episode is ok...I got sucked in from episode 2 onwards though Greg Hsu is so adorable and a great actor to boot! Another Taiwanese Oppa. Ah yes, I heard he was in the Chinese remake of On Your Wedding Day - I saw the Korean Park Bo Young version and that hurt. Do I want to take on a Chinese version? Hahaha first Lee Do Hyun not adopted now I find out Gong Yoo is also left out??? But it sounds like you did use to like him since you made a big sacrifice in your movie watching habits ....haha I enjoyed Age of Shadows but was devastated for his character! Who that? Some Ahjussi Oppas: Gong Yoo (He was my first Oppa ever ), Hyun Bin, Won Bin (adopted for Man from Nowhere alone), Namgoong Min. I don't know if I count Ma Dong Seok as Oppa, but I love him all the same. Gong Yoo is v. important to me
  16. No worries! I was also busy for some time. You haven't missed much I'm afraid...haven't heard from GAR for awhile...but LJW has been keeping busy doing non-drama stuff like interviews and V-Live and his drama filming is halted while they search for a new lead Yep Jung So Min belongs in the same generation of actresses as Go Ara, Park Bo Young, Park Shin Hye etc. who have had solid careers through their 20's in the 90's. There's no news that she's accepted the role so far, but I have a feeling she might after her current drama Monthly Magazine House completes airing, just so it doesn't detract from that. By the way, I've started a new thread for LJW's drama, so feel free to direct all Return related discussion there. It's a bit empty so far because there hasn't been much promotional content released due to paused filming/ lack of female lead/ early days of filming. I'm guessing she didn't have enough experience in front of the camera, which doesn't make her a bad actress at all, but may mean that it would be hard for them to direct her and really sucks because it meant she was asked to leave Being an actor is more than just knowing your lines (which she was probably good at)...it's also making the right expressions, knowing where to stand and move in front of a camera in a scene, knowing where to look, conveying emotion through expression and voice, building chemistry with your co-star, whether in a fight scene or crying scene or kissing scene...it's hard work! But the pros like LJW and GAR make it look easy I just remember GAR always talking through her thoughts of how to act out a scene with LJW especially if they did a blooper like with the romantic height measuring scene. Hehe, I love it too. It makes me feel at least hopeful that this drama won't be forgotten already it does beat your heart with a whip in those last 3 episodes As mentioned above, I recently found some new pictures and gifs that are pretty from a different creator, SOD: https://diary-of-jw.tistory.com/186?category=1158778 Thanks for the link! And Thanks for the review @stroppyse! I've been meaning to do one for ages and will add one to yours soon
  17. He's also Dior's poster boy! He almost always posts Dior shots and went to their celeb party this year. Hahaha, I totally agree with Jun! Though guess LJW's a lot richer so has more free credit to spend of fashion Yeah the ending will always be unfair - especially to Jun's character because they put him through a lot and made people dislike him But I've also luckily gotten over it and now I only think about/ care about the nice parts of that drama in my memory
  18. I'm catching up slowly! Episodes 3-5 - I'm enjoying this series quite a bit - it's warm and fluffy in the romance and aesthetic with the houses, but also relatable in a real life way It's probably a bit more of a conventional, older-style romance with tsundere boss CEO, but I guess I haven't watched one of these in awhile so it's fun since the leads have fairly good chemistry as well - The thing I really like about this series is that everyone has a housing problem which is so reflective of real life - they've covered some of the most relatable issues for adults! There's a big fear of being homeless or being a renter all your life (NYW), there's regrets about making the wrong choice and missing a purchase opportunity (Chief Editor), there's desperation with things like housing subscriptions (NSS) and living beyond ones means to ever afford a house you want and being in denial that house prices will drop (UJ)...And most of these things cause pressures and tensions with family - NSS and his cutie pie, Chief Editor and his wife - I loved Episode 3 so much - it was such a spoof of Parasite! I suppose it was in the title though. Everything, from NYW doing the Jessica-chant at the door to memorise real estate knowledge before going into that grand house to getting literally pushed down the basement steps, screamed of a movie spoof and I thought it was all so clever Especially since this episode looked at a jerky guy living like a leech with an older, wealthier woman. It was about parasites in every sense of the word. Man, NYW's ex boyfriend was a real jerk - it would be terrifying being locked in a wine cellar basement! - Also the ending of Episode 3 with that kiss between NYW and YJS under the fairy lights was so pretty But then it turned out to be a trick when I watched Episode 4 and he not only didn't kiss her, but started blowing all hot and cold and getting huffy that she thought he liked her! Why did you deceive me like that writers?! Though I did think it was so embarrassing that she just assumed he liked her so confidentially while drunk. I died a little on the inside on NYW's behalf - Episode 4 - I felt so sorry for NYW when she thought the house was haunted! But I'm glad it turned out to be a faked death and not a real one and YJS was not that stingy to actually put her into an apartment where someone had killed themselves! But I knew it would be a misunderstanding since YJS is clearly a big softie on the inside - Also what's with the Chief Editor always forcing NYW to pay for coffee or meals?! I wish NYW would be a bit more assertive, but I thought it was super cute that YJS is always secretly protecting her but also making a 'valid excuse' and justifying why he has just spent the money - For office productivity I do have to add though that if NYW didn't want to get dragged into buying other people's coffee, she probably shouldn't accept their offers to buy her coffee either. No such thing as a free lunch (coffee) in this world! - I'm also having mild SLS in this series - Gyeom has such a puppy gaze and is clearly smitten with her! I like that he tries to make her feel less alone while she's saving up - their little convenience store dates are so cute. You're right @abs-oluteM about Drama beans analysis not being so good anymore - I somehow read one for this show and disagree with their idea that Gyeom is mean for pretending he was poor I feel like it wasn't on purpose at all and he didn't know how to tell her because he's not the kind to boost about being rich and who goes around telling people they're rich unless they want to get robbed?! - Episode 5 - Poor YJS is such a softie on the inside who really wants to fit in and is hurt by their remarks about him being a bad boss. I laughed so much that he buys that 'Compliments can make Whales Dance book' mainly because it had a cute cover. as for the compliments, they were hilarious because they sounded so much like threats! But we all know the only literally dancing whale turns out to be YJS when NYW gives him a compliment
  19. Hahaha I love this ship! And also the other ship: These kids have better romances than a lot of other adult dramas Yayyyyy!!! Finally. I am up to date. Thank you for putting up with my loooong posts
  20. Oh my god...I was today years old when I discovered that NJH is only 25 yrs old while CJH is 28!!!! I didn't realise that CJH looks soooo young. Like in my mind I was pegging him to be like 23 or something. 28 is much better age A lot of people seem to like these 2! Everyone has been liking my gifs non stop! Speaking of which, look at these beautiful gifs... Credits: Masterpiece I'm watching on Viki and KissAsian
  21. Episode 13-14 - Yayyyy! I caught up in time just in time for the last 2 episodes - Haha YT really knows how manipulate the egos and competitiveness of the two top players...he can get them to dig for potatoes and justify it as being #1 player ...But I'll tell you impressed me...Park Chan's ability to split a watermelon with his serve... - Aw, I agree with @stroppyse, these two are so already a couple....HK said all those sweet things to SY under a starry night sky about how he can find her in a second even if the stadium is packed. And i thought it was so cute that he called himself a huge coward, but said he had the courage to wait in the dark because he was waiting for her......but why does he tell her he's waiting to confess his feelings?! No! Tell her now!!! - Hehe I just love HK's overly confident, but not jerky attitude. He's just lots of silly fun like when he gets the crowd to boo for his competition...but I also like how earnest he is when he's serious like when he told everyone his dad was his idol for not caring so much about winning - Re-watching the scene where HS is mean to SY, it seems like she was mad about SY talking about the scout from Seoul, so yeah, I think all the reasons I mentioned above check out - I felt sorry for Bang that Coach Bae was quitting - the kid seems close to him and this would be a terrible time to not have that support But somehow I feel like Coach Bae's actions will help the kids in the end? - Haha it's return of rose tteokbokki again I like how HK thinks those guys are staring at them...when it's really their food! Also this series gives clues about things that are yet to happen...IS tells HK not to get hot tempered and start something...so you worry when it looks like he'll fight with those baseball bullies...but he just gives up his phone! Haha, so refreshing and funny - I have to say I felt disappointed in the Coach Ra for not believing the girls...I know she's competitive and SY was always their trump card to winning. But I kind feel like that's lazy coaching in a way because isn't the fun of being a coach teaching newbies to become pros rather than just easy winning? (But I forgive her because she was so sorry afterwards!) - Thank god HS has good friends and a caring boyfriend and a best friend who doesn't care about the limelight but just wanted to be there for her friend That bit made me teary, that the person she cared about most was SY who never left her out. The boys team were so adorable in how enthusiastically they cheered her on! - I love how wholesome this series is too - HS wanted her whole team to be in the photo, the competing girls were not mean, but really respectful of her win, the girls still love their coach and she felt miserable about not trusting them - I can't tell which little couple I like more! Why are they all so cute! I can totally see why SY likes HK so much. While everyone, including the adults, are concerned with her winning, HK is just relieved that she didn't get hurt and wants to buy her snacks No wonder SY likes him. Hehe their snuggle by the tree while hiding from the other couple was high tension! And then the way he yelled out his feelings to those guys who were badmouthing her...Also the fact that SY only ate the snacks from HK...my heart! As for Bang and HS, they are adorable too. I love that he hugged her when she was having a hard time and then she hugged him when he was nervous. - HI teaching the grandparents how to read also stole my heart...I hope it saves them from signing a bad contract! - The village people supporting the badminton team was the cherry on top of an already super touching episode! I love this type of community spirit - But the ending is so cliffhangery!!! The golf development people are the evil jerks who threw rubbish??? Will HK go blind??? Maybe IS will have to play instead of HK? Or is that player from the past (who Coach Bae quit to coach) come and help them somehow?! Haha YT's in full denial over the whole situation! Hehe going back on old posts, I believe I answered this one by flooding this thread with my thoughts!
  22. I think I have to like the female characters in a drama. Sadly, I don't think I find any of the female characters relatable? The main character I know suffers from trauma, and usually I like characters that appear tough but are vulnerable, but something about the way she makes bad choices makes me feel like I'm watching a train wreck The cafe friend and male lead's ex wife are both annoying. I liked the main male lead and psycho Yoon Park was fun though. Ah, so Yoon Park plays a doppelganger...That's an interesting way to keep him in the story. Hahaha, I liked the darker childhood/ murder storylines...wasn't feeling the romance, but it's probably more lovely from episode 3 onwards. Hehe or maybe I normally prefer warm guys/ playfully male leads over very tsundere characters, so the romance not as noticeable to me? @SilverMoonTea I just noticed you adopted no Oppas for July on your tracker?! Whoaaa What happened?!
  23. Episode 11-12 - The city couple do actually have a sad story - I mean they're soft and kind people who lived in a place that was so cold. The friend who committed suicide got the guy in big trouble (and he had tried so hard to kind to him) and the whole office only cared about blaming him. His wife pretty much had her work plagiarised, was looked down on for her infertility and criticised by jealous co-workers....no wonder they were depressed! I'm glad that by keeping busy in the town and becoming connected to its people they found meaning and purpose for their lives again...and realised that HK's curry was terrible The town's people saved them without knowing it! - Haha the little sister asking for homework help from her Oppas was adorable. And their answers...oh, my heart But I loved that she was not impressed by their hand hearts Sorry if someone already posted this, but there's videos of them doing the hearts for HI mucking around outside of the drama. I love this instagram account -it's basically meant to be Bang's Instagram account ...how meta! https://www.instagram.com/p/CRDsDgwls68/ https://www.instagram.com/p/CREJscElfnG/ - Haha the evil coach of the other team is the gangster from Beyond Evil. Run away kids! He's evil!!! He also got the white wolf Coach Bae in trouble But seriously, why even pick on the poor kids and ask for money...like hello, wouldn't you get more money from rich kids - I love the symbolism in this series - HK gets his terrible cooking skills from his mum as you can tell when they have a heartfelt conversation over her soup, which turns out to be salty. But this scene is juxtaposed with YT saying he made a booking at the best restaurant in town (Grandma's home made dinner)...and later in episode 14, the villagers lie and say they bought food for the boys from a restaurant, but it turns out grandma cooked it. Despite his mother's terrible cooking, HK requests his mother's food later on when she says she was thinking of ordering food...so Food is strongly representative for family and love here - Gotta admit, I would have felt mad at YT if I was HK...He didn't mean to spill the secret, but he it was pretty obvious that it wasn't meant to be told! But I loved the way HK forgave YT and they both made up as brothers. I was also heartbroken for IS after the draft match - it's hard competing with friends - I was wondering why HK didn't just confess to SY since they obviously like each other...but then boys are dense and he probably wanted to feel worthy and be on her level to confess (ie. beat Park Chan) - The older grandma's death was sad mainly because her own kids were gold diggers except the youngest daughter...but she's lucky to have found a family in the village with non-blood related family looking after her instead.
