  1. I'm looking for the newly shot episodes too. I want to pick it up and start all over, though I feel sad about the Ji Soo matter - for him and for the cast - I don't want to miss this seemingly awesome sageuk (and seeing how "active" this thread is speaks volume ). I think Viki will bring in the new vids since it's "A Viki Original' title in their lineup of dramas. Waiting patiently...
  2. Hmm... I'm only at Ep 2 (slowly watching, and patiently waiting for more to binge) but can't seem to "feel" the main CP's chemie yet. They are both awesome in their roles, but... Part of me silently wished (please don't "bash" me) they were paired differently... It is what it is now. Let's hope I will be "struck" soon... haha On the other hand, just from Tencent Official Zhou Shen OST MV, I'm already loving the second CP. Can't wait to see more of them. Oh well... I'm biased, I guess
  3. It did not dawn on me till now, this will be their "reunion" after 5 years! Nice. CR: Screenshot/as tagged Noble Aspirations Seasons 1 & 2 was their first drama together. And... Haha. I second that. I will join you all the way. They are just too darn good together! Likewise. We'll have a party then.
  4. Agree. Though I love JT in Rattan, I think she's better off with BB than CY. I must admit I was actually pretty happy about the change to YZ.
  5. Love this drama! Crown Prince Zhao Zhen, the future Emperor Renzong of Song, is finally making his appearance.
  6. The female lead has finally been confirmed on 4.2.21 as Yang Zi as per this tri-party - Yang Zi, Youku, and H&R Century Pictures - public notice (click link/image for enlargement): This CP looks good! Filming has reportedly just started today, April 6th! Can't wait!
  7. Yeah. Indeed. PD Li has an eye for aesthetic and artistic essence. Even for battle scenes, just wow! And awesome cinematography! CR: PoD weibo
  8. I had to succumb to my "impatience" lol. Although I should not start any other new dramas yet, lol, I took a peek and ended up watching Ep 1 and loved it! I won't spoil anyone's watching pleasure, save for a few random thoughts: 1. Love the interesting interplay of comics with films. The cinematography is breathtaking overall! 2. Not liking the role and overall appearance of ZLS (Ep 1). She's one of my fave actresses, especially after "Dating in the Kitchen" but she seems so timid and lifeless here. Hopefully, there'll be better development in her role later. If not, why take a step back in your popularity and take up this role, ZLS? I haven't read up on this drama and the novel, but I may have to now, for my sanity. 3. I was transported back into the world of Harry Potter, and I must say, I loved it! Yeah. Love them! Haha. IKR! I ought to stop starting new dramas already! So many to keep up with and so little time, even if given 24/7/365, to watch them all! There are good ones airing currently, and more good ones to come for both Cs and Ks!
  9. FINALLY! Thanks for the tag. CR: Screenshot from teaser. The schedule... For Tencent VIP subscribers: Exclusive premiere at 2230 CST (local time, probably the usual first 8 episodes will be available in advance) For non-subscribers: First week (week of premiere): 2 episodes on Thursday and Friday at 2000 CST. Following weeks: 2 episodes every Monday to Wednesday at 2000 CST. Another source for watching with subtitles in English and other languages (at some point):
  10. TBH, I'm not so keen on KW as the male lead. But I will give him the benefit of the "watch" and decide how he fares. As for YZ, oh yes, she's perfect for the role. Can't wait!
  11. Noooo! Don't do that to me. Besides loving some of the modern ones, I love sageuks (and any historical, costume and period ones in K, C and J) and there are already so few to offer, let alone being able to successfully premiere or run its course on air. Me too. I like him in any genre of dramas/movies. Or erhem... in "salivation" genre PS: If you/anyone clicked on the spoilers, chances are you'd need more, such as this advice: "Please wipe that thing off the corner of your mouth" hahaha
  12. Yup. Yibo is one of the celebs, among so many...
  13. Oops... I thought it would be merged lol https://www.globaltimes.cn/page/202103/1219474.shtml
  14. Still a rumor, still in talks... It looks like a good possibility but then again, who knows? As it is, it looks like there's another Knetz vs Cnetz war going on over Joseon Exorcists, and then the BTS issue, and perhaps another Hallyu ban soon... aish. You read the novel? Awesome! Yeah. The latest is the Xinjiang Cotton issue.
  15. Sad. Why would celebs and the entertainment world of business intertwine entertainment and political issues, again and again? Today, it's the Xinjiang Cotton issue, what's next? I'm all for social justice and doing what's right for real injustice (not biased, ideological or double standards). But global or local politics vs.entertainment? Let them be separate. All I ask for is creativity in any and every forms. Is it too much to ask?

  16. OMG! Just stumbled onto this piece of good news on PHS! Welcome back to dramaland! Been mising you lots!oppasaranghaeyo CR: 1 I can't wait for your new project: The Golden Hairpin (Korean adaptation - I hope it will materialize) Hmm... I'm somehow looking forward more toward the K-adaptation than the C-adaptation that is taking toooooo long to be released. Who knows? The K-version may be released ahead of it if it materializes. That'd be awesome! For now, let's all pray that politics and C-cum-K anti-fans will stay out ot the way for whatever reasons they may be unhappy about. Left: C-drama poster; Right: C-novel cover.
  17. Be careful with YT channels. Sometimes, they are machine translations i.e.. really bad. Some IQ subs are good. I haven't seen the subs for Rattan, so I will not comment on it. Fully agree. Binbin and Jing Tian are smoking hot! Oh wow! You're way ahead of me. I'm trailing behind very badly
  18. TBH, this drama isn't on my radar at all. Looking at the cast, gosh, I don't seem to know or remember any of them. Now that you've brought my attention to it, I will try it sometime. Thanks for tagging (and adding to my already huge list of to-watch and to-catch-up haha).
  19. Ep 8 only And too many good dramas to catch up on as well. Awwww....
  20. Jing Tian is such a pro! And a natural beauty! Look at the painstaking process of being Si Teng and having to undergo this Inverted Face and Body Molding process. BTS on Molding Process And some random screenshots below. This OTP is so cute and compatible together, in and out of the drama. Hmm... is the ship sailing already? lol Jing Tian & Binbin CR: weibo Absolutely INSANE! Yes, Si Teng has placed a "spell/curse" on QF so he can't run away from her. LOL she is his master. As for the latter part, I haven't watched that far to know if it is so.
  21. Just one wish for today: I wish more dramalovers will watch and like Palace of Devotion. *looking up dreamily*

I love it! It's getting better and better. The first two eps were quite bad due to the choppy edits which I believe were due to mandatory/censorship factors, for one, like the huge reduction of episodes in order to get approval to air. SMH. Try it if you have time in your busy schedule, and busy drama-watching schedule lol.

    3. Tofu

Hahaha, ok! Let me know where that kiss scene is. I'll start there.

      That's in Ep 1.

  22. I think I can understand how you feel on this. I didn't watch that either. For this drama, I like the PD and Liu Tao, and the history bit of it (though this drama isn't truly all historical, which is stated in the disclaimer in every episode), those are the reasons that drew me to it. Now that I've watched all 10 available episodes, I am beginning to warm up and loving it.
  23. Yeah. It was sad. Oh well... Hoping it will get better and better, and C-netz will stop complaining and bashing the PD and cast. So agree with this weibo'er. Well-said! Paraphrasing briefly: Why complain so much about the episode count change, about pacing, about Liu Tao, about makeup? Like a bunch of kids. Don't like it, why watch? Change the channel. For me, I feel that the pace is not draggy, the dressup and makeup are authentic, without any use of filter lens to smooth out the looks, the dialogue is just right, neither slow or fast, pretty good. Raise your hand to show me which historical drama does not begin in a speed/pace that's greater than 1.25 times? If you don't want to watch it, change the channel. (end) 这微博友: 说得好! 赞!
  24. I know what you mean. Frankly, I am not sure if it is the "fault" of the authority or the crew of each specific drama project. I guess we could consider it as a combination of both, and the time constraint between airing and approval, not forgetting the business side and unforseen circumstance of it all. It is a really difficult endeavor. I am glad many pull through well enough to present to us, C-drama lovers, so many awesome C-dramas, and even more to come.
