Wow! That's a feat! Congrats to cast and crew of Palace of Devotion. Considering all the anti-drama buzz around the 15 yo age issue of young Liu E vs mature Liu Tao, and the abrupt editing when it premiered. We know though, that it is due to the reduction of episodes by the censorship authority. From an original intent of 50 eps, then to 86 eps, and mandatorily reduced to 61 (final count as of now) to be approved for airing. So there you have it. At least we get to watch the loving and painstaking good effort of 61 eps. I am happy and can gladly overlook any "mishaps" which are enforced. So glad it is getting better attention now. The story is engaging (to me) and the cinematography and attention to Song style and aesthetics must not be ignored. I personally love to lap it up. Such a joy! Thank you, PD Li, cast and crew. Some beautifully presented scenes: It's actually an entertaining drama, a fusion of historical facts with fictionalized plot and characterization (to some extent). I'd recommend it any time, any day.

In Ep 1, there is a true representation of The Night Revels of Han Xizai (韩熙载夜宴图). Nice touch by Exec PD Li Shaohong (李少红). CR: Self More from weibo... Or perhaps due to censorship (aish, SMH). There are abrupt snips that are too obvious, done too hurriedly. Hope the editing will improve going forward. Overall, a really good look back at history and filming-wise, skillfully conceptualized, envisioned and captured. Not to mention, casting was well-done, and so the portrayals (thus far) are awesome.

Isn't that the distinct trait of a very smart person? That's Shiyiniang all right. I'm scratching my head a lot lately when I read MDL's comments. How on earth could anyone conclude that she is evil? Or hasn't been honest in what she has done so far? Here, I love that they have this similar theme for their windows too. Stylish and beautiful.

My first thought after finishing 36 was 11 wanted to appease 01 by letting him come up with the draft for her Fu embroidery instead of using what Ou has written since she knew of his "jealousy" after hearing who actually wrote it. But since you've seen the spoilers/trailers, I guess it's all about that spy. I just love it when Wallace pouts and sulks. Too cute lol. I enjoy watching them push and pull. Best bickering couple so far lol. So I am fine if they start "bickering" again because who knows, another couple of great kisses? HAHA. OMGosh! They've recreated one of the Ep 1 scenes I love! It was so well done in the drama. This OTP is so cute lol. I'm being drawn into this drama more and more because of them (as well as the genre, the plot, the directing, and all the special effects and special locations). SO SO GOOD! Awesome! I think this is their first CP collaboration in a drama (?). They should appear together again in another drama, perhaps in a historical or period or xianxia genre. That would be so good! I'm almost wishing BinBin would join Jingtian's upcoming xianxia. It seems they are still casting...

It's about time. I'm not suprised. I've watched till Ep 5 only (12 are released so far). I just hope perhaps...err.... not atop of TSandTB on days when it is on air? haha my bias right now although I really love Rattan. It's so refreshing and such a captivating watch! Si Teng's costumes are so beautiful and perfect for her; and Qinfang serving her as his master... they are so adorable together! Not to mention the cinematography and all that the PD is brilliant at! CR: Weibo Beautiful costumes/qipaos... there are more. LOVE them all and Jingtian is such a good clothes-hanger lol. CR: As tagged PSST: Anyone who's sitting on the fence and deciding whether to watch Rattan or not, do it! It will blow you away, in every sense of awesomeness - plot, suspense, main leads, CGI, cinematography, etc. I highly recommend it.

The ratings and rankings are already through the roof awesome! No worries there. As for those comments, yeah, I read them too. I think a lot of the impatience stems from not fully understanding the plot development and setting. Besides, many people skipped lots of segments because they don't like this or that scene, so if they are unclear, then that's their own doing (or more like, their undoing). On the whole, I see many, many more viewers enjoying the slow and steady build up to a solid romance. I'm awed by this PD and screenwriter, and 1101CP are true masters of their craft. They are perfect as a couple who married not out of love, but for familial reason and then slowly understanding each other and slowly falling in love with each other. So believable! OH YAY! I can't wait!

Just as SnT stated, it was during their trip out in town on QiXi Fest. 01 recited it, or rather made his confession to 11 on the bridge, before he made his move to kiss her, like in the opener... (Love the opener btw) SPOILER! But before that, this happened LOL... 7 has a very pliable back haha... Shall I gif on for more? Nahhh... IMAGINE IT.

I've just managed to complete watching till Ep 30. That scene you mentioned above... I did a double take and was going... WHOA! That's my 01 hero! That was an excellent segment and I had to rewind to rewatch it because I did not realize 01 rushed in until 11 turned around and gazed at him! 1101CP and PD, you all did a wonderful job in that scene alone! With the OST in the background, it makes it all the more touching when you watch this rescue. JJANG! I breezed through all 10 eps but erm... mostly in the background while multitasking hehe. I'm more interested in scenes between the main CP and the second CP, although the police and hospital aspects look quite interesting too. I love Sandra Ma in anything, so it's a watch for me anyway. But I am impressed with BJT. I think it's my first drama with him in it. This Mika/Xing CP feels like a winner already! In fact, I like the second CP too. They are cute. And oh, can I have a landlord like XKL too? However, 1101CP holds my full attention. I can't do anything else while watching them. And I need my entire being in attention haha (bet many of you are likewise?). Loving them and the drama more and more! Ep 31 is so far away...

I'd add (latter part of the instagram vid) the diialogue of our jealous and mad general Lingyi to Young Master Ou: What's your ill intention in trying to get close to my wife? Has your Ou family deteriorated to such a contemptible state? YM Ou: Shiyiniang and I are innocent. (Lingyi gives Shiyiniang an "Amicable Separation Letter" (aka modern day divorce) - In that era, it's literally a letter for "和离 amicable separation") Shiyiniang: You want a divorce? I'm so high on sugar after Ep 22, I will be very sad when the above scene happens. Can't get enough of our OTP falling in love with each other. Ep 22 is the episode where they learn more about each other, and slowly fall for each other. How I wish the drunken general did consummate his marriage that night lol Btw...
