Casting News - Yang Se Jong for "Hooligans" or "Pine"
 

Rising actor Yang Se-jong, who recently appeared opposite Bae Suzy in the Netflix series Doona!, has received an offer to star in The Hooligans. The role was previously offered to Ji Chang-wook, who ultimately turned it down.

Also approached to star in the series is Moving actor Ryoo Seung-ryong, who is well known for box-office hits such as Roaring Currents and Miracle in Cell No. 7.

 

Set in the 1970s, the show follows a young man and his uncle who team up to sell fake goods in a bid to escape penury. The pair eventually get an opportunity to go searching for treasure and don’t hesitate.

The series is based on the webtoon Pine by Yoon Tae-ho, whose works have previously been adapted as the films Inside Men and Moss, as well as the hit series Misaeng.

 

The series will be directed by Kang Yoon-sung, known for the film The Outlaws and the recent Disney+ drama Big Bet.
