  1. I wonder if Head Court Lady wishes to make Deok-Im a concubine not only as a distraction for San but also a tool for her to use. She seems to like Deok-Im’s intelligence and boldness so I wonder if she thinks she can control San through Deok-Im.
  2. @JenL yes I am still watching! I also love seeing all of Orad and Tsien-Ti’s scenes from before the memory wipe. You can see how their love blossomed. Ep 8, I am starting to get confused as to who the bad guy really is at first it seemed like Toem was up to no good and now Fali seems like he’s up to no good and then there’s the other creature that is killing people. It does seem like Fali blames Kakarayan for something - not clear as to what he wants to do. I also don’t know where he sent the Kawas nor do I understand How he is able to do all of this without consequences. Like is this Kakarayan just watching while all of this unfolds? There seems to be this underlying question of whether everything is predetermined under what is in the reflection of time (as decided by Kakarayan) or if Kawas/humans can go against it by making choices and sacrifices. I also didn’t understand why or how Orad regained his powers. My interpretation was that he asked Kakarayan to save Tien-ti and he would give anything. Hence losing his powers. It appears to be a test of how much he was willing to give up or surrender for Tien-ti. Because at his most desperate time, he chose to completely believe/rely on Kakarayan hearing his pleas for help. This is what seemed to have given him his powers back. i don’t know if we are getting closer to any answers. I feel like every episode just leaves me with even more questions!! but yes, Orad is definitely swoon-worthy. I just want to see him finally admit to Tien-ti that he loves her and that everything he has done for her was because he loved her.
  3. I agree with this. I think that the king had likely contributed to his son’s mental breakdown. And yes, I think it’s largely due to his complex where he feels the need to assert his authority, power and position as king. We see that the times he is immensely triggered is when there is any mention of his lowly birth or when he feels he is disrespected. Like you, I also think he genuinely loves and cares for Yi San. Unfortunately his judgement is often clouded by his insecurities. He also cannot come to terms with his son’s failure to live up to his standards nor can he accept his role in it. So he overcompensates with San which actually does more harm than good. San is stronger than his father but not because of the way his grandfather treats him. He is strong because of his determination to be a better ruler and out of a genuine desire to help people. I really loved the scene right after his grandfather slaps him while he was in confinement. I don’t enjoy the abuse but it made me admire San even more. When he said that he is used to the pain and knows pain but he tolerates it because he knows the pains people suffer and that if he endures, he can be in a better position to help those who suffer. That, to me, makes him a great king. not to mention the acting in that scene! It wasn’t just about the physical pain he had to endure from his grandfather but the humiliation of having to go through it while the woman he admires is on the other side of the door, witnessing all of this. It was so embarrassing for him as a man and as her master, the highly esteemed crown prince. I was really moved by that scene. It seems to me that the head court lady does not want San to be king because she fears he will turn out exactly like his father. What I don’t understand is why she seems to want Deok-Im to be his concubine. @suhodorable that bath scene was intense! I honestly can’t blame Deok-Im for “falling” into the water with San. I would too!!
  4. Finally got around to checking this one out and the verdict is… I am absolutely loving it! I find all the characters interesting and the chemistry between the leads is so good! The ending of ep 6 got my heart racing!! The king is so crazy. He’s so abusive. He’s harsh and cruel and he claims to do it out of love for Yi San but really, he acts on impulse based on whether he feels he is being threatened or ridiculed. This is my first time seeing Jun Ho and I am impressed. Now crushing hard on him. I like that this drama is giving us a closer look at the daily lives and challenges of being a court lady. I now have a better appreciation for them. i love that Deok-I’m is written as an intelligent and capable female lead, making her an equal partner to Yi San. Can’t wait to see how the rest of it unfolds.
  5. I knew Wanting was going to come back and cause problems. I just hope Wanqing can help TXL come to his senses.
  6. Thank you for the preview @themarchioness! That preview makes me so sad! I don't understand why TXL won't just tell MWQ. He's going to feel like such a jerk if it turns out he was misled. I do hope they get over this together.
  7. Sad I can't see the preview! It says "Content not found"
  8. Okay, done watching ep 21 - 22. My thoughts...
  9. I am not watching yet because I wasn't aware of this one. LOL But now that you mentioned it, I'm going to check it out.
  10. Yes, me too. How disappointed these two will be when they find out how crooked their fathers truly are. I just hope that they won't get discouraged by it. Rather, I would love to see them fight alongside TXL to correct the system. I also cannot wait to see what TXL is going to end up doing because Uncle Liao is right. This war between warlords will not end even if TXL were to win against Xo Bojun. It's only a matter of time before someone else comes after him. It's also sad that ultimately, it's the civilians and the soldiers who pay the price for these struggles for power among men. Saw this on the internet today and makes me sort of giddy thinking they might be dating IRL.. https://38jiejie.com/2020/10/14/chen-xingxu-sparks-dating-rumors-with-fall-in-love-co-star-zhang-jingyi-after-he-was-allegedly-spotted-coming-out-of-her-hotel-room/ But, I'm the type that doesn't really care if the leads of a drama end up together IRL or not. All I really care about is that they end up together in the drama
  11. Honestly this drama just can’t do anything wrong! Every episode is just so good!! I am all caught up until ep 20 and can I just say that I’m sooooo glad that TXL and MWQ are finally together?! Every scene they have together makes my heart flutter I’ve mentioned this before but I just have to mention it again… they are so perfect for each other. Even when TXL doesn’t tell MWQ everything right away, she always knows or senses what he’s up to. Unlike before, her trust in him is now so complete that even when he doesn’t give her all the details, she doesn’t panic or get upset. Rather, she goes with his flow because she knows he’s always after her best interests. I love the scene where TXL meets MWQ privately at a hotel room before he goes to buy western medicine. Not only was it so sweet of them to be showing affection for each other but I love that MWQ knew right away that there was something off with TXL. And although he hesitated at first, we can see that he, too, is also showing his trust in her by opening up to her and involving her in all of his affairs. Because of this, she was able to successfully assist him. I love that she was supportive even though selling medicine meant that there was a risk they would be implicated as assisting the south. I love that all he said was that he had to repay a kindness and she replied with “then a kindness shall be repaid”. Such simple words but the meaning and intent ran deep. I also loved the scene when Xu Bojun and MWQ’s dad (can’t remember his name right now) we’re arranging the marriage. You can see MWQ trying as hard as she could to get out of it without exposing anything. And how cute of TXL to be discreetly listening in on the conversation. And the look they gave each other! I love that when TXL told her not to worry and that he’ll come up with something, she trusted him right away. And how cute was the scene of them “fake fighting”?! I die at how adorable these two are!! So it looks like apart from Xo Bojun, Marshal Pei’s father also plays dirty. I think the end of ep 20 might be leading to Guangyao telling Marshal Pei about their fathers’ arms dealing. I saw this preview for ep 25-26. Looks like at this point TXL and MWQ are already married? Did I misunderstand?
  12. Ladies, I think I need to rewatch ep 17 & 18 just to see all the sweet moments between TXL and MWQ again! The look on TXL's face when he realizes that MWQ actually meant to kiss him the last time she got drunk, is priceless! You can see surprise, recognition and joy all manifested in his eyes. I am sooo soooo glad that MWQ took the initiative because I feel like it's another proof of her ability to go for what she wants. Poor Tan Si was left out shivering in the cold while TXL held a sleeping MWQ in the warm car. I laughed when MWQ woke up and tells TXL that he should go meet her father and propose marriage now. I was like "whoa!" they literally just confessed their feelings for each other and now they're getting engaged?! But I remind myself this is a different time period so that was quite normal at that time. Not that I'm complaining either, there's nothing more I want than for them to get married and start having babies! When TXL says that he can't propose marriage yet, it was so cute how pouty MWQ was! And I love how TXL tells her that every time he has kept something from her, even when she doesn't know or understand it, it's always been for her good so she needs to trust that whatever it is he is doing, he's always thinking of her welfare. The scene where MWQ presses for a reason as to why TXL wants to keep their relationship secret was really good too because MWQ figured it out without TXL actually telling her. She figured out that he wanted to keep their relationship a secret so that should the conflict between TXL and Xo Bojun go south, she won't be implicated. I love that despite her desire to get justice for her brother, she'd rather let it all go than lose TXL. Okay, I really need to re-watch because it's just so good! Now I don't know how I am going to wait for the next episodes!!!
  13. Found another trailer but this time from ep 17-22. Ugh, I don’t like that our couple has already confessed their feelings for each other but now it looks like a Wanqing is getting pressure to marry Guang Yao I wonder what role Min Da Cheng is going to play in taking down Xo Bojun.
  14. Found this preview for ep 21-22 on YouTube and I need to know what is happening!!! it looks she gets engaged to Guangyao but then she’s on a date with TXL?!
  15. lol the same for me!! This is the first drama of his I’ve seen and I’m now a fan. Ep 15-16 were both so exciting. I found myself thoroughly captivated by how everything unfolded. I think we can all agree that TXL is smart but his intelligence shined so much in these 2 episodes. He knew how to get Min Da Cheng to confess but also worked with Wanqing to expose the whole truth so that the stepmother and Wanting could no longer lie. It was so satisfying to watch the whole truth come out and the stepmom could no longer weasel her way out of it. Finally, Wanqing, her mother and brother got the justice they so deserved. Now, Wanqing is the only person set to inherit the Mu family fortune. I think this is a major milestone in this drama as she would now have some measure of influence in the Mu family. Now she can better support TXL. I suspect that TXL knows that Xu Bojun was behind Min Da Cheng. This is why he had arranged for Guangyao to switch rooms. I believe his main purpose was to let Guangyao realize that his father had something to do with this fiasco. It’s actually pretty genius. TXL knew that if the assassin’s hesitated to kill Guangyao, it’s because they not only recognize him but also bec they work for his father. And the scene where Guangyao asks Su Hong Chen to hold the pen as he re-enacts the slapping away of the injection proved to him that the assassin dropped it on purpose so as not to harm him. So this basically tells Guangyao that he cannot be harmed. Why? Because they worked for his dad.
  16. I supposed in this day and age of dramas, everyone is past the amnesia arc and just don't have the tolerance for it anymore, considering that there are many other tropes they could have gone with instead. LOL so true! I was so excited for YG and DD to finally confess their feelings and for Sara to get kicked out that the thought of a reset so-to-speak - having to go through it all again is something I don't want to see. The only consolation I have is the thought that Sara is going to get rejected all over again and it will probably be worse the second time around.
  17. I totally agree with this! I would love to see some jealousy from YG! But this is why I was a bit disappointed that the amnesia arc started already because I wanted to see more of how YG was going to come to terms with the age gap. I feel like that’s where he needs to fight for their relationship and be proud of it. I also can’t wait for him to openly defend her and tell everyone that she’s his!
  18. I totally agree with all of this. As much as I like Guangyao, TXL is a much better fit for Wanqing. She is a true compliment to him and vice versa. I feel that if Wanqing and Guangyao were to marry, he would be devoted to her for sure and he would make an excellent father. However, with TXL, there’s this playfulness in their relationship that brings a level of excitement. I don’t know if I’m explaining it right but I see them sitting in their living room, married with children and playfully bickering and flirting with each other. And when TXL comes home and discusses work with her, she’d not only listen to his stories but she’s actually smart enough to help him solve issues. I don’t know, that’s the impression I get. It’s like they’re truly partners in every sense. Poor Guangyao was in the midst of a spectacle between lovers while recovering from his surgery. In the scene where TXL finally tells Wanqing the truth about the night she got drunk and shared with her the other details behind the pawnshop owner and her brother’s death, I appreciated how TXL first asked the soldiers to leave so he could tell her in private. Also, you could see from his expressions and delivery that he was trying his best to slowly give her the details and let her piece it together herself. He was very considerate of her feelings. And the way he held her to comfort her was so sweet. I just can’t get enough of this drama.
  19. Yes! I love how the two of them are so aware of each other. And TXL's face when he realized that Wanqing was jealous of the actress! The scene where the clarify the supposed phone call from TXL to the actress after leaving for only 2 minutes was cute. Yes! I find him quite annoying. I love Marshall Pei though. I love that he doesn't judge unless he has all the facts. Much like Guangyao, he is more concerned about the truth and doing the right thing. Even when Guangyao chose to lie for Su Hong Chen about his back injury, Marshall Pei said "if I remember, it was just a scratch.." He wasn't willing to lie even when it came to the little things. Thoughts on ep 14
  20. Watching ep 13 as I eat lunch. I couldn't wait until the end of the work day to watch.
  21. Who knew the handkerchief would play such a vital role in this drama. I am torn between having DD go to the US or to have her stay, I don't know that the amnesia is what is going to send her packing. I feel like with the amnesia, she's more needed at home to help with the children. I agree with @stroppyse that apart from YG and Anna Kim, she's the only other person that truly cares for and loves the children. But I can see Sara taking advantage of YG's amnesia to get DD fired. She's the first person Sara is going to want to get rid off. So maybe this is the catalyst for her to go overseas. If this is the case, I certainly feel sorry for the little ones as they would be losing DD and Anna Kim. But then again, if DD ends up leaving for the US, how will YG fall in love with her again despite the amnesia? Perhaps it will be some time before Sara sends her away. Maybe YG does fall in love with DD again and Sara then decides to get rid of her at that time. I agree with this, DD will have to grow so that she can feel equal to YG. It's just a matter of finding out how.
  22. Yes!! Orad actually hardly ever says anything. Usually he’s just standing nearby, observing and watching Tien Ti and yet, his presence is very noticeable. He plays his character perfectly - like you said - brooding and mysterious but also gentle, sweet and thoughtful. I love him. and for some reason I find their kissing scenes so sweet. Their kisses are more of the innocent type but there is depth in them. After watching ep 6, I am curious to find out Fali and Toem’s motives. I feel like there’s definitely more to them. I am not fully convinced that Fali is acting according to Kakarayan’s orders. And Toem mentions a “secret” he is careful to protect. I was so sad for the 2 girls - Ai Ting and Ai Yi to have been separated in the end. My heart broke for them. It looks like Tien Ti is going to realize soon that her memories were erased because she fell for Orad and it was forbidden. And now Fali seems to have given Orad an ultimatum that involves him correcting their courses - Tien Ti would have to die again according to plan. I don’t know if Orad can do it.
  23. nice to see you over here too! I am actually liking this drama. You’re right, the sexual tension between the leads is definitely palpable and I cannot wait until XQY finally admits that she likes MLZ. They have great chemistry together. I don’t think that MLZ is a player. Rather, he is popular with women - meaning that women frequently approach him but it doesn’t seem to me like he reciprocates. He actually finds them bothersome. Which is why at that party with the “lottery”, he didn’t want to participate and it was his friends who had set him up. Him meeting XQY was a complete coincidence and I think he didn’t expect to be so attracted to her. It didn’t seem like he had any plans of pursuing her but he ended up falling for her and caring for her at some point. However, since XQY decided to get back with FYX, he can’t openly make a move since she was careful in setting boundaries with him. He’s pushing the envelope though and keeps crossing the line because of how much he likes her and also because he disagrees with her decision to get back with FYX. At this point I think they are both aware that they like each other. But XQY needs to sort out her feelings with FYX and realize on her own that she’s only with him for sentimental reasons. That’s the point MLZ was making - that although they have been together for 10 years, they’re actually strangers in a sense. They’ve grown apart without realizing it. MLZ actually knows more about XQY at this point compared to FYX.
