  1. Started watching episode 1 and so far, I like it. I like that Gu Xi Xi is quick-witted and is smart enough to keep up with the Yin Si Chen's tactics. I am sucker for contract marriages turning into real love. Yi Bai Chen plays the 2nd Lead (Mo Zi Xin). Last time I saw him was in Well Intended Love. It looks like he has a childhood encounter with the Female Lead - Gu Xi Xi.
  2. The photos for this drama are really pretty. I'm not personally familiar with the leads but I think they look good together. Photo CR: MyDramaList

  4. Finally got to watch the rest of ep 6 with subs. So true! The fact that someone could mistake it for garbage was telling... LOL Moo Hak's half-brother is soooo annoying and so is the mom! I really hope the dad wisens up and realizes he is being played. It's funny how Moo Hak is basically the smart one in the family who is actually the reason for their success. I chuckled when the dad said "moving that kind of money with Moo Hak finding out...." again just shows that Moo Hak is the brains behind the business and is very knowledgeable. I really hope Won Tak remains as just Dali's oppa and doesn't become romantically involved. Would love to see Moo Hak and Won Tak develop a friendship. I think the combination of the two of them backing Dali would be awesome.
  5. I agree with you on this one. I love the leads but apart from them, there aren’t any other likeable characters. And yes, the only other interesting person is WT. I actually find the gallery employees annoying. As for Dali’s ex, yes, I also don’t understand why he waited so long if his plan was always to win her back at some point. I would like to also know what led to the break up, what he asked her for in the past. I also don’t agree with Dali using him for his money. I haven’t quite gotten to this part yet due to lack of subs but I understood as much when I skimmed through it. I don’t know if she was doing it out of revenge or if she’s doing it out of desperation since her backs against the wall so to speak.
  6. Okay I’m going to check it out since I have time waiting for new episodes and subs.
  7. Just finished watching ep 5 and part of ep 6 (still waiting for the rest of the subs). I’m glad that Dali admitted that it was foolish of her to have been carrying around that sum of money because I was actually thinking the same. If I had that kind of cash, I would immediately be putting it in the bank or at least not taking it out in the open for others to see. She didn’t even hide it when she was paying for the motel. But this just goes to show that she’s naive and inexperienced when it comes to the realities of the world. I have to admit I sympathized with her employees when they criticized her for wearing designer clothing when she couldn’t even afford to pay their salaries. I wish, though, that Dali would be more forthright with her struggles instead of opting to keep it all to herself. By keeping the truth about her struggles from them, she’s only giving them opportunities to misunderstand her. As for Moo Hak, at times I want to smack him in the back of his head and sometimes I just want to hug him because I find him adorable. I do wish he had just offered his place when she didn’t have anywhere to go. I loved his reaction to having found out about the robbery and when he saw her bruises… you could tell he really cared for her. In ep 6, I laughed out loud when Moo Hak woke up from sleep (I thought he had perhaps heard Dali upstairs or something) and as it turns out, he had just remembered that he left a light on. The way he quickly gets up, turns it off and happily goes back to sleep was just so Moo Hak to the core. Honestly find his penny pinching ways so adorable. Also, the scene where he tries to call Dali and her phone is vibrating right above him… LOLOL! I can’t believe it didn’t occur to him that she’s upstairs! anyway, I have yet to watch the rest of ep 6 with subtitles so this is it for now. Really loving this one so far.
  8. @mademoiselle lol I haven’t seen any of his other dramas which is why I’m not familiar with him. Okay, I’ll join you in watching this one. I saw it’s coming on Netflix.
  9. LOL the character chart is so complicated! This looks interesting. Not familiar with the ML though. Has he starred in any other dramas?
  10. Episode 4.... I am so curious to find out the story behind the scar! Sakisaka obviously likes Naho but is holding back for some reason. I love that he was willing to protect her at all costs. I also admired the fact that despite being so naive, she still had the smarts to recognize that her ex was taking advantage of Sakisaka and she made it so that Sakisaka didn't have to be bullied. I am so sad about her hair but I have to say she's so pretty that she looks great even with short hair. The preview for ep 5 looks interesting. Can't wait for Sakisaka to admit to himself how much he likes Naho.
  11. @abs-oluteM ugh, I cannot wait to watch the next episode! Still not available on Viki and even ep 5 is not fully subbed yet The love pentagon comment made me laugh! That back hug was so sweet though and I cannot wait for Dali and Moo Hak to start working together. I totally agree with Moo Hak's business strategy. Even though he's not as literate or as "educated" as everyone else, he is quite smart and knowledgeable when it comes to running a business and managing finances. I also like that he seems to have a good work-life balance in that he's against working overtime LOL I love that when he found Dali at the gallery, he scolded her for the electricity she was using. I cannot wait to see everyone's reactions when they find out the connection between Dali, Moo Hak and the brother.
  12. @abs-oluteM I skimmed through ep 5 but without subtitles, I can’t understand anything. It looks like Da Li got robbed and hurt at the motel she was staying in which is why she had bruises all over. But since I didn’t really watch the entire episode, I don’t know if it’s the same guy who had broken into the gallery at the end of ep 4. I like that fact that Moo Hak wears his heart on his sleeve and in some ways it’s adorable at how impulsive he is. I know this likely isn’t such a good trait in the long run but I love that he just says what he thinks. It gets him in trouble for sure but at least you know where you stand with him.
  13. Ep 5 airing today! It’s not available yet on Viki but I’m keeping an eye on it.
  14. This looks interesting. Will be keeping an eye out for this one when it airs.
  15. Same! I keep killing them. I actually bought a few plants this summer. 2 died. The rest are still hanging on.... I like Jasper's features and I like that he's not too muscular... he's just right. The preview for ep 20 where she's washing the dishes and he hugs her from behind.. all I want to say is, his body is showing nicely through his shirt..
  16. Juggling so many dramas and yet sitting around waiting for new episodes.  UGH

  17. @SilverMoonTeayes! I agree with you that the kiss at the end of ep 2 would be deemed harassment. Lol I find the FL very naive while I don’t quite understand the ML. It seems to me that he tries to keep himself from getting into a serious relationship. Perhaps, like you said, he’s previously been hurt. He keeps crossing the line with Naho though. I like this one so far so I’m going to keep watching. Ps. I also loved him in I Don’t Love You Yet.
  18. I really like this drama so far. From what I understand, Da Li was born into a prestigious family so that is the life she's known - sheltered from the realities of the worlds. On the other hand, Moo Hak's family came into money through their Gamjatang restaurants and that is why he is more aware of the value of every cent. I actually love that he calculates the value of everything by equating it to how many bowls of Gamjatang he can buy for it. It goes to show that even though they have money, they don't take it for granted. I also admire that fact that Moo Hak works hard for his money. Moo Hak is what I would call more street smart while Da Li is more educated/cultured. I cannot wait to see how the two of them will grow together. I am curious to find out how that female colleague is involved with Da Li's father's demise. Also curious to find out if the cousin had anything to do with it.
  19. I agree that Hye-Jin made these 2 episodes so cringy.... but I still enjoyed their sweet scenes just because I can't get enough of Kim Seon-ho. His charm was in full force here and I especially love the lip-biting, shy-glancing expressions he makes. The only reason I can come up with as to why Hye-Jin was behaving this way was that she was very much in love and just wanting to enjoy the moment with a man she truly liked. It looks like she's only had 1 previous relationship and back then she was too busy juggling work and school so she didn't really have time to have fun. So perhaps she's just doing the things she's always wanted to be able to do, now with Du Sik. If I look at it from this perspective, I can understand. As for Du Sik - I am curious to find out what the back story to his trauma. I don't know if it's a past lover or close friend that he's lost. But one thing is for sure, he feels responsible for it somehow. I have to say that the scene between Hwa-jung and Yeong-Gook where she asks him for a divorce was so well-done. Her acting in that scene was really good and you could feel and see all the underlying emotions. I think she divorced him to set him free.
  20. I just started ep 1 and am at the part where they go to the party and he is being introduced around as Jin Hitanori. I have to say the female host of the part is very outrageous but so are all the supposedly "rich" guests! And Dali's interpretation of Moo-Hak's assessment of the art collection
  21. I didn't realize this was going to be a 50 episode drama! I have never seen a K drama this long but I am intrigued enough to give this one a try. The first episode was a bit confusing because there were so many characters involved. However, I think I understood who is who so it's all good. I understand why DD's dad kept the truth about her mom from her when she was a child but now that she's grown up, I think she has the right to know what really happened. It's not healthy for anyone to be keeping the truth hidden at this point. I have to say I am surprised at how Dae Bom's mom turned out. Considering that she entered into a relationship with DD's dad for their children's benefit, I am surprised that she seemed to be more of a burden than a partner. I think the scene of DD as a 13 yr old meeting Young Guk for the first time really emphasized the age gap between them. It does seem really strange to think of them as being a couple some day. If there is a 14-yr age gap between them, then if DD is 25, YG is 39. I agree that the big age gap in RL does not work so well but it isn't entirely impossible. My grandparents had a 12-yr age gap between them but they were good together as a couple. So personally, the age gap doesn't really bother me as much. I am curious to find out what the late wife was like. She seemed to have been well loved by both YG and the children.
  22. @Tofu Finally starting this one. I had to chuckle in opening scene of episode 1 where they are talking to each other in English about their scientific process and then when it succeeds, they start talking to each other in cantonese (or is it mandarin? sorry, I cannot tell the difference). I was like, "why were they speaking in English to begin with?"
  23. Started this one a few days ago and am now on ep 8. Really enjoying this one so far and am curious to find out who really is behind the gambling site. I am rooting for Ms Choi and Yu Dong Man and hoping that Dong Man and Hyeong-pil end up becoming buddies. I feel bad for Dong Man because nothing seems to go his way with his investigation LOL
  24. YESSSS!!! When the Camellia Blooms was really something else. I have to say that I always end up thinking of it whenever I watch a small town drama. I am so happy to see we are finally getting somewhere. I was worried that Du Sik would reject Hye-Jin so I was sooo happy when he kissed her and admitted that he, too, couldn't deny it anymore. And let me just say that the way he looked at her, the teary eyes, the slight eyebrow raise, the micro expressions until he leans in and kisses her.... PERFECTION! I do feel bad for SH because he's too late once again. But like what others have said here, why didn't he choose to pursue her after she had broken it off with her boyfriend back then? Sure he could have been giving her time to get over her previous relationship but he could have also chosen to look for her and pursue her after some time. As for Du Sik, I am hoping he doesn't go the noble idiocy route. I think something might happen to Hye Jin like an accident of some sort where Du Sik will feel he's responsible. I surely hope not! The two of them doing the memorial and having dinner together after was really cute. Also really cute was the scene when Hye Jin slept over after the pervert attacked her. The poem Du Sik chose perfectly described him and I loved that it bothered Hye Jin to find out she was only the second person he's told about his grandfather. She even mumbled in her sleep which made him laugh. I can't wait to see all the upcoming sweet moments between them! It looks like they're going to be dating out in the open for everyone to see and I can't wait to see all of their reactions!
