  1. I’m shocked to find out that Yumi actually dates 3 guys in the webtoon. I suppose it’s really more about her growth as she deals with each relationship. I have to admit I’m sad to hear she doesn’t end up with Wong bec I find him adorable. I guess we’ll have to wait and see how it will pan out. I’m curious as to how close it will follow the webtoon. This is giving me Love Alarm vibes all over again.
  2. I agree that the proper thing for him to have done is to use honorifics since it’s the polite thing to do. However, a part of me thinks that Du Sik doesn’t use them to encourage others to be comfortable around him as well. Because he was so casual to Hye-Jin’s dad, it caused the dad to fully open up to Du Sik. He, too, wasn’t necessarily polite or nice to Du Sik. He was frank about his feelings. So you can say that Du Sik got to know him better because of it. In the Philippines, we use a form of honorifics too when speaking with those older than us or those who we are not as well acquainted with. We essentially insert “po” or “opo” in what we say, to denote politeness and showing respect. Growing up, when my parents would ask me of something, I would answer with “opo” to say “yes” politely. However, we weren’t encouraged to use “po” when we are talking to them. With others yes, but at home with my parents, my brothers and I didn’t have to use them. This was because my parents felt that subconsciously, it was creating a wall between them adults and us children and they wanted us to be able to talk to them and open up to them as we would our peers. Of course we still respected our parents but we were able to talk to them about everything and be comfortable with it. So this kinda reminded me of my personal experience.
  3. @abs-oluteM I also don't understand why being an orphan is such a detriment. I feel quite the opposite.. if I found out that someone was an orphan, I'd be more considerate of them. Especially since Du Sik turned out quite well despite it all. One of the things I like about Du Sik is that he stays true to himself. Even with Hye-Jin's dad, he didn't feel the need to impress and simply stayed true to his nature. I understand now why, despite being a warm, friendly and helpful person, he chooses not to get into a relationship with Hye-Jin. It looks like he has lost every person who has meant a lot to him. He probably believes that he brings death to those around him and that is why he chooses to be alone. I wonder though why he chooses to do part time jobs... As SH, I do feel bad for him considering that he has always liked Hye-Jin and simply missed his chance in the past. I liked the honest conversation between Hye-Jin's dad and Du Sik.. I think that Hye-Jin's dad appreciated Du Sik's honesty and character which is why in the end, he approved of him even though Du Sik said that they were only friends.
  4. Ok, I'm now loving the cells. In the first 2 episodes I found them a little annoying but I really loved them in eps 3 & 4 especially when they were trying to control Lustsaurus! I couldn't help but laugh when they were trying so hard to hold him back! And Yumi's hunger cell! I love him too! It made me chuckle because hunger really affects us women. I know for a fact that I am a different person when I am hungry vs when I have/am eating good food! I thought it was hilarious that for Yumi, her hunger cell was the biggest while for Gu Wong, it was his lust. Whoever is writing these cells is genius! And I agree @ktcjdrama, Ruby is nothing compared to Sae Yi. Thankfully, Gu Wong - despite his innocence, is not naive to her tactics and knows exactly how to protect himself and avoid her. I do worry that they are moving so fast this early on in the drama. I wonder what they're going to encounter in the next 12 episodes... I hope they don't break up! They're too cute together! It's official, I like this one and I'm going to keep watching.
  5. Speaking of the talent show, I have to say I really enjoyed the terrible and uncoordinated dancing of both Du Sik and Hye-Jin. Watching them go all out despite not knowing what the heck they were doing was really something to see. I also loved how they were so confident they'd win after their performance only to be followed by a surprisingly talented Bora who not only sings well but is adorable to boot.
  6. Hey peeps! I am thinking of whether I should give this drama a try.... is it good?
  7. Thank you @Tofu and @themarchioness for your explanations! Totally helped to clarify some things for me. In the drama, they don't show their kids (oh how I wish they did!!). They only mention that they plan to name him Zhou Mushi. I hadn't realized that Wenxing was the reincarnation of Xing Hua but it's quite nice that they switched circumstances in modern life. So it looks like they, too, are fated to be together. As for ZSC, can you tell me what the agreement was that he drafted with Mei Xing in the end? My understanding was that ZSC is going to relinquish his inheritance to Zhou Ren after 10 years as his interest remains in research. His only condition was that they invest in manufacturing in China. What exactly was it that he was walking away from?
  8. I have to say that although I hated the Crown Prince in One and Only, I loved Mei Xing in FAE. Of all the tears shed in FAE, I felt his grief the most. I initially like Wei Man because she was so nice and warm to Shi Yi but I started to dislike her when I realized that she was still flirting with Wenchuan despite him being married already. I also did not like how fast she just took him back and got pregnant right away. It was so disrespectful in so many levels. Admittedly, I hit the FF button a lot when it came to ZSC's family scenes not only because I found them a little boring but also because it felt like the drama failed to really explain the family dynamic. It was much too confusing for me as someone who didn't read the novel. From what I can understand, ZSC's mother died and his father was forced to marry the stepmother (cannot remember her name). As to why.. that part is a little unclear to me. I do know that she and the 2nd uncle had feelings for each other. But then there's this conversation between the two of them where he asks her how long she intends on repaying her debt and all I can say is... "what debt?" This part was not clear to me. As for Ren - I adore him. He is like a mini version of ZSC. However, who are his parents? How is he related to ZSC? Why is the entire clan so protective of him? I also am not sure that I understood Wenxing's reasons.. exactly what was she involved in? I understood the incident in Bremen wasn't really due to Wenchuan as per police findings even though everyone believes otherwise. So when Wenxing apologized to Shi Yi, was it for the boat accident? Did she intend for Shi Yi to fall so that it would make ZSC worry and be scared to lose her? Also, what happened to Wenchuan and Wei Man after they lost the baby? Were they still together? Did he die after falling off the balcony with Shi Yi? When Shi Yi was in a coma, did she dream about her past with ZSC? How was the diary that ZSC was reading related to it all? The ending was good but how I wished we would've gotten a scene of them with their child.
  9. YES!!! I don't know how I feel about the cells yet.. in some ways they're a little distracting for me. But I'm going to keep watching to see how it pans out. I would not be sorry to see the long hair or the beard go - that's for sure!
  10. Ohhhhh!! Yes yes!! Now I recognize him!! Thank you!! yes, I saw DOTS but for some reason he’s not registering. yes!! I almost didn’t check this one out bec they both looked a little weird. But I like KGE so I thought I’d at least see the first 2 episodes and decide if I want to continue
  11. Ah thanks @SilverMoonTea! I didn't watch Kairos so I've never seen him before. one thing I have to say, I am not a fan of both leads' hair styles! Her's needs to be longer and his needs to be shorter! LOL
  12. @ChocolateI definitely thought he was surprised by how good the porridge was.. until he said it tasted so bad! LOL I'm guessing it's sour because she may have added lemon (or vinegar or something equivalent). I like they made Seong-Hyeon's personality just as endearing as Du Sik, so much so that you can't help but like him too. Of course I am rooting for Du Sik all the way but Seong-hyeon makes for an interesting 2nd Lead. And I love the bromance between them. Really loved the epilogue for ep 8! Gaaahh! I am curious what would have happened if Hye-Jin actually kissed Du Sik. As for Du Sik, he obviously likes her more than he thinks he does. The jealousy is adorable! I love that he's always aware of her presence/absence. How sweet of him to go looking for her when he noticed that she was missing from the shoot. The hug! I wonder who the pervert is... And.. who do you guys think the lottery winner is???
  13. I saw this on Viki today and plan on checking it out. I did fast forward quite a bit just to see if it's something I would like and I think I'm going to give it a try. I FF to the scene where they first meet and he's so gobsmacked that he literally could not speak. I don't recognize the ML though...
  14. Are there supposed to be episodes airing today? I checked iQiyi this morning and it's still only updated to ep 22.
  15. Sad that Hospital Playlist is done. I already miss them!

  16. Yes!! I also miss ZSC's former personality. He was much more confident and the modern one is too shy and timid. Apart from the past and present being honest and loyal and protective of those around them, everything else is different. Modern ZSC keeps needing to be urged along - whether it's Shi Yi, unlce Lin, Mei Xing or Ren. I would love to see him take more of an initiative. Right now, he is very reactive instead of being assertive unlike ZSC of old. Now I feel like I need to read the book because it sounds like it's very different. I have to say that I find it somewhat frustrating even after they've been married, they were still so shy with each other. I get that Ren Jialun is married in RL so he limits his kissing and bed scenes but there wasn't even much physical interactions between them. One thing I have to say though, I really love their sleeping scenes because at least when they are sleeping they are hugging each other and the way they move on the bed while they sleep is very natural. I am still unclear who the villain is. Is there one?
  17. yes! I’m also curious to see if they will end up together eventually. They remind me of Songhwa and Ik Jun in a way.. friends who you can see have the potential to turn lovers. They are so cute together too! I really hope Jun Wan and Ik Sun get back together. and yes, this felt like closure that it’s hard to imagine what Season 3 might be about. But I’m still hoping for one!
  18. 2 week wait was worth it!!! Gah! I squealed so hard when IkSong ship finally sailed!!!! I had suspected that Ik Jun's accident would perhaps prompt Song-Hwa and I'm so glad I was right!! I also squealed when Seok-hyung finally confessed his feelings toward Chu Chu. I adore them!! Seok-hyung can't help but find Chu Chu adorable. She's his opposite. Where he's reserved and timid, she's forward and assertive. I think she's such a good match for him. I'm also happy to see him take steps forward. I am curious to as to why he wants his mom to think he is moving to the US. I suspect he wants her to feel desperate enough to keep him that he will then use that as means to get her to accept Chu Chu. Like how Rosa was so happy about Jeong-wan not entering priesthood because of Jang Gyeol. I think Seok-hyung knows his mother so well that he also knows how to get what he wants. When Chu Chu said, "if you ask me, my answer is yes.." the way Seok-hyung chuckled was so cute. You can really see how much he adores her and finds her cute. I really love Rosa.. how sweet she really is especially after Jeong-wan told her about Jang Gyeol's family. I am a little confused as to what is going on between Junwan and Ik Sun. In the last episode, she apologized to him and basically admitted she had lied to him about dating her roommate. She also told him she still had feelings for him. Then what? Did he not want to get back with her? I don't quite know where they stand. They both obviously still have feelings for each other. This is one show where I just love every episode and I feel like if they decided to make 10 seasons, I'd still watch every single one.
  19. I just started ep 1 and I already know I'm going to like this one. I love youth dramas! This is perfect as I had just finished re-watching A Little Thing Called First Love.
  20. same! I rewatched and still cried so hard!! I thought the scene where Shiyi jumps was beautifully done. And the scene where she cries as her mother tells her about Zhousheng Chen… that was such great acting from Bai Lu. You could really see and feel all the pain she was feeling. Like she couldn’t believe what she was hearing and couldn’t accept it. Not only is the man she loved dead but that he died in such a terrible way. I had mixed feelings about Yang Shao but I think it was right that Shiyi and Zhousheng Chen let him go before. Without his help, Zhousheng Chen wouldn’t have been able to send his last note for Shiyi. It was also him that Zhousheng Chen entrusted to protect and get Shiyi out of Central State. In the end, Yang Shao played an important role in how the rest of it unfolded. Ultimately, the rightful emperor ascended to the throne. This is what Zhousheng Chen’s sacrifice was for and Yang Shao played a role in fulfilling that.
  21. Still recovering from One and Only..

Me too! They should release Forever and Ever now. I would like to see a happy ending for those two.

I really hope they release Forever and Ever soon! I can't wait to see the continuation of their love story.

  22. Started this one yesterday and I like it so far. Kim Seun-ho is adorable! I wonder what led to him being a "jack of all trades". A part of me suspects that it as born out of his desire to help the people in the village, like he's had to learn to be everything to everyone so-to-speak. The reason I think this is because despite the job he is doing for someone, he always only charges minimum wage and refuses a raise. I think he's just mr. nice guy. I am curious to find out wha the story is behind the suit that he seems to be hanging on to. I thought the epilogues for eps 1 and 2 were cute. I wonder if Du-Sik remembers her as the little girl from the beach. He appears to find her attractive though. And I must say I'm pretty impressed with the "renovations" he's made to both her home and new dental office. It's cute how much he's trying to help her. I can't help but compare this to Camellia in some ways.. the outsider who struggles to fit in in the beginning but eventually learns to love and appreciate the town and the people and vice versa.
  23. yes! And the scene where he leans to let her touch his face! Then he takes her hand and gives her a tour of all the gates…. My heart…
