    @SilverMoonTea I didn’t watch The King so can’t comment on that... As for the drama with SHK, I did enjoy it overall (watched it as it was airing), but I understand it can be too makjang for some plus I remember reading comments that some people felt their characters’ relationship to be a bit incest-y 😂 Haha tag me if you see any news about his D+ drama! I’m not even sure if they have started filming yet.

    @SilverMoonTea I think JIS looked best starting from his mid-30s era... He still looks good now as he enters his 40s 😍 It’s a pity he hasn’t done any dramas in recent years, only movies. I want to see him for 16 hourly episodes, not just in a 1.5-2 hour movie!! 😩 (Till now like no legit source news of his supposed drama on Disney+?)

    Yep, I caught it in the cinema when it was shown in theatres here. It was quite enjoyable! Quite a few funny bits despite the story being set in a very serious time and place. But the humour is mostly subtle. There was a sequence of scenes in the movie that elevated it from being average to pretty good. I found the pace at first was quite slow, but I’ve seen slower movies so it was still tolerable 😂

    @Chocolate All I can say is... oops🤭 I only watched Dr John for Jisung. I FF-ed so much of that drama 😂 Got spoiled after Hospital Playlist cos that became my standard for a medical drama lol. I think there was Subway PPL in this one. And omg I feel the same about LSY’s eyes! I thought I was the only one... they just unnerve me in a way I’m not sure why. I also felt the same way when I first saw her in Hwayugi.

    Totally!! I knew something looked off when they showed it the second time round so I rewind and watched it a second time and got spooked out... the girl must have some kind of shaman powers lol. @SnowBlob Me too instead of watching the drama alone in my room I go to the living room where there are other people... I’m a scaredy cat like that 😂

    @Chocolate @mademoiselle Speaking of PPL, one gripe I have was when the newbie gave Yi-gang an Egg Drop sandwich. Err I don’t think there will be a branch near the mountain?? Lol that sandwich must be cold and soggy 😅 I cringe every time we get a PPL insert in any kdrama. 99% of those are so out of place and glaringly obvious. I don’t get why some ppl seem to be so upset with the CGI quality. Sometimes, even blockbusters with hundreds of millions of budget can also have wonky CGI on the big screen. Personally, I just adjust my standards according to the show I’m watching. So far the only scene that I had an “eh” moment was the falling rocks near the beginning of Ep 1. Hopefully the rest of the episodes will be better!

    So far in the episodes they have shown minimal training - I think almost all of it is done off-screen and they only show us in short montages during broadcast. I guess due to the limited time and number of episodes, only the matches and competitive parts (eg. the ranking matches they play among themselves) are shown as these are more interesting. If I remember correctly, the ultimate aim is they will play in a badminton competition after a number of days, right? I have a vague memory of LYD mentioning it in Ep 1 lol. Like in 60(?) plus days from the start of the broadcast.

    God I cringed watching YHM play as doubles with LYD 😂 I think the nerves also somewhat played a part because YHM looks okay during practice but when it comes to an actual match he just cannot execute The coach vs coach part was pretty fun to watch! The mini Racket Boys reunion was cute too. Too bad they couldn’t get the whole team to cameo. Min Ki really works very hard but the sad truth is sometimes the athletic DNA is still needed for sports. For example, Doojoon is definitely one of those type of people so they pick up sports faster, even if it’s one they haven’t played before.

    I just close an eye regarding the CGI since we usually get sub-par effects for kdramas so I’m used to it. It’s not bad to the point where it overshadows the story. As for the choice of bgm... I have issues with it lol. They keep using english songs that don’t match the vibe of what’s happening on screen?!😅

    @movingwheel Thought the same when I saw those eyes. Could that be his spirit (as mentioned in the linked tweet posted by @abs-oluteM?) I want to know how Hyun-jo is able to have the ability to see into the future(?) regarding the whereabouts of these lost people. I suppose the drama will take its time to reveal this. I’m still scratching my head about the parisan signs that Hyun-jo and Yi-gang keep leaving for each other. What’s the whole point of it? I feel dumb for not understanding😂 Like in Ep 2

    Huh did they really state that this was to be a healing drama? I don’t get that at all, it’s a thriller/suspense all the way for me. A couple of points in Ep 2 I even felt slightly spooked out and thought that it’s a bad idea to watch it alone at night lol. @Chocolate @SilverMoonTea I actually don’t mind if there’s no or little romance in this. I like the little bickering thing that they got going on here where it shows the two of them are so different from each other. We got another cliffhanger at the end of Ep 2 and my brain is going a little crazy trying to come up with theories 😂

    Just wanted to say that I’ve finished Ep 1 and wow. Totally understand why Jirisan broke the weekend viewership record! Right out of the gate we can see the production value - I loved all the scenery shots (made me miss hiking). The air of mystery and hint of something fantasy/supernatural is intriguing. I did not expect this angle at all, so it was a pleasant surprise. The ending of Ep 1 made me want mooorrre. It’s gonna be a long wait for every weekend again lol.

    Agree with the 'decent watch' comment. Started on the weekend and just finished this drama. Even though the plot was quite predictable (I guessed the killer after Eps 1 and 2 lol), the acting and action were pretty great. The violence and gore (blood) is nothing new as I do watch quite a number of action movies and series (think John Wick and the Punisher) so I rarely have to look away anymore Only found the last episode a bit meh. The ending also felt rushed / abrupt? Also like others, I don't hate it, but I found the romance unnecessary. Overall it's still a good watch! (Else I wouldn't have binged it in a couple of days haha)

    @mademoiselle I think YHM didn’t do too well as baseball is too different from badminton, especially the swinging motion... but I’m expecting him to pick it up quickly as well due to his sports background. And yep, the fencing dude is the tallest guy (who’s pretty cute, I agree😝). His steps look solid and very steady (look at those calves and thighs!!) due to his fencing background. Plus his height and reach gives him really good advantage in terms of covering the court. I’m trying to source for raw version of this show, do PM me if you got links 😂

    Hahaha omg me too!! Last night. And I watched the first set lol. Btw I managed to watch the full Ep 1 of the variety with chi subs. I don’t think there’s an english subbed version anywhere. I was surprised at how stable Se-Chan was. The ‘high-level’ players were good but I’m more interested to see how the mid and lows improve! I think we will see very quick progress from Doo-joon and the Fencing dude as they have the athletic genes lol. There were a few instances where the editing really made me LOL. Now I can’t remember off the top of my head but I enjoyed Ep 1 very much. Can’t wait for ep 2! Seems like they will play against a women’s(?) team of sorts.

    Just done with Ep 2 and I actually had to rewind the part where the Crown Princess was on her deathbed because the cut was so sudden I thought I’d missed something erm...😂 So there was probably a time skip that they didn’t bother to specify, right? The CGI animal left much to be desired but it’s not an important part of the story so I’ll just close one eye regarding that lol. Yes he’s also an inspector(?) I think. He killed the young prince and he’s the right-hand man of the Crown Princess’s father.

    @mademoiselle I went snooping around a few days back but didn’t manage to find much... just the cut of Seung-kwan vs LYT. The youngest boy is one of the finalists of that contest Mr.Trot. He has a really great voice! Not sure about his badminton skills though lol. I’ll continue to snoop around for the full episode this weekend😂 Too busy during the weekdays to do it haha

    I’m saving travel plans for next year / till things go back to more or less normal. Not worth it to pay about double for me just to travel sooner. Although I do miss travelling a lot, I’ve found other ways to de-stress! Picked up learning the guitar (bought a new one😍) on top of the ukulele with the money I’ve saved up due to not travelling lol.

    Yes he is back home! The funny thing is he was released a couple of days early from the quarantine facility without an exit test. Which I am guessing is due to lack of rooms in such facilities lol. Right now our government is changing a lot of SOPs regarding Covid. Finally making some steps toward treating it as endemic. It’s taken a long time but at least it’s progress. I have also finally managed to catch up with my dramas. Just done with Homcha, will be catching up on LOTRS tmr! I haven’t watched Wise Mountain Village Life though haha - just seen snippets here and there.
