  1. Haven't watched. Wondering if I should even bother because I don't want to start if the ending isn't satisfying.
  2. Borrowing this thread to ask a question. @gilaswan how do you feel about the ending for Captivating the King? I read their relationship remains underground...
  3. Episode 6 is much better—with Ji Han realising he's fallen for Ah Jung, and trying his best to control his feelings. Welcoming this belated angst, to be honest, and look forward to him drawing the line but can't. Heh. More push and pull is needed. My favourite scene in episode 6 is none other than the family dinner. Not the bit where Ji Han stood up for Ah Jung, but Ah Jung's brohter-in-law dissing Ji Han's half eldest brother. HAHAHA! I just love love love how he asked him when he'll stop causing trouble so that it'll not affect his investment i.e., LJ stock Such a good slap to Min Woong's face.
  4. @gilaswan Did your husband watch Kim Soo Hyun's movie "Real"? 😆 ------ By the way, it has been pointed out by Netizens that episode 1's story was told from Hyun Woo's perspective and episode 2 from Hae In's perspective. The scene where we see Hae In asked Hyun Woo to see the doctor with her was done in two versions. Even the colour tone of the scene was different. First version was Hyun Woo's, so we see a very cold Hae In in a demanding tone ordering Hyun Woo to go somewhere with her. The second version was a complete opposite. Hae In's tone was softer and not condescending at all, instead, it was Hyun Woo raising his voice and yelled at her. I thought it was really interesting the drama seems to be showing us two sides of the story. Really looking forward to more episodes and see if this continues. With this in mind, @gilaswan I, too, was wondering how Hae In interacts with Hyun Woo in the beginning of their relationship and honeymoon, as we saw they got along just fine. Is it really Hae In being frosty, or this is actually Hyun Woo's perception of her and we see her cold front through his eyes...? Another scene I wanted to point out, which I find it funny, was after Hyun Woo tells himself to lower his lips... Kim Soo Hyun kept "that look" throughout when he went to see Hae In in her bedroom. LOL LOL! @abs-oluteM Are you and your mum watching this? Come join us, soon! @ktcjdrama Come join us soon, too, so you don't miss out on the discussion.
  5. @Chocolate Why don't you try this to see if you like it. Otherwise, I look forward to your dissing. LOL!
  6. There are BTS released on Naver (but not tvN YouTube) so I can't share it here, but this scene turns out to be Soo Hyun's ad-lib imitating Kim Ji Won's aegyo and line (I'm born to be this way [cute]) in Fight My Way.
  7. @JenL I read your posts, but forgot to reply 😅 Moving - wait, you haven't gone past episode 7? Episode 7 is when the kids' stories end, if I remember correctly. And that's when the story-telling became choppy for me. Everything ties back together at the end if you watch on, even for Frank. The Impossible Heir - LJW is slaying with that hairstyle and suit, but the story and his character aren't. Haha. Why can't they all just be perfect? Rowoon's FM - Yeah, I'll let you know. I'm putting this boy on the side until he gets a haircut and goes back to the neat boy I preferred. God knows that'll probably be latter half of the year since I think he's keeping the long hair for the new drama as well. Fan accounts - I mostly follow Korean fans. Maybe that is why I see nothing since they write their stuff in Korean and I have no energy to click "translate into English" one by one. I do follow some fan accounts that post his news but even those don't express their opinions as much. There are two I followed that would occasionally post their thoughts, but often it's them ranting and hence I have no head no tail about the whole story. LJW & Karina - I saw the news about her apologising. Quite insane to have to apologise for your own private life. But then again, celebrities in Asia seem to not deserve a life. How is it going with everything now? Has it died down? I have a feeling this relationship won't last very long due to the peer pressure, and idols are very busy. Many ended up breaking up due to busy schedule. Another factor is they are both very young. It's depressing because Ki Wan was only able to defect to Belgium with his mum's sacrifice. Chinese police was chasing them, she was hit by a truck and died. She requested Ki Wan's uncle (not sure if blood-related) to sell her body to the hospital in exchange for US dollars for Ki Wan to leave the country. Even after arriving in Belgium, he wasn't able to get accepted as a resident immediately, so he slept on the streets while he waits for immigration. Because the US dollar = mum, Ki Wan didn't want to spend the money. He can't speak Belgium, faces racism and was beaten up. His wallet with the US dollar was stolen by FL. Blah blah blah, they fell in love but she's a bit of a troublemaker herself and got Ki Wan using drugs. I didn't watch the whole thing, but the ending showed Ki Wan has a Belgium passport, left his restaurant job and went to Indonesia reuniting with FL. I'm waitng for all the episodes to be out. I think I've only watched 2 episodes. I'm not a fan of it. I don't like how Chae Jong Hyeop is so innocent and act cute in there. It's very Japanese style act cute and innocence rather than Korean style, and for a guy rather than a girl too, so I'm not used to this. I also think I'm too in tune with Kdramas that I'm not used to Jdrama styles anymore (and Cdramas too, in terms of romance).
  8. @Chocolate It's not Netflix, it's Disney+ but all the same. Two peas in a pod! They should have just finished filming everything! Gaaaaah~
  9. 12 episodes. We're half way through! I am hoping their acting will help me get through this. Moon Sang Min isn't charming me at all in here. I am not happy with his hair and his acting is so-so. Sometimes OK, sometimes I thought could have been better.
  10. Did you already watch episode 1-2? How did you find it?
  11. @gilaswan @peperomia Jeong Woo's parents paid Kyung Min double for the tuition fee. He's not well-off so I think partly due to that he succumbed to them. Their social status in the medical field might be another reason, but it wasn't clearly mentioned he benefited from them afterwards. I also can't remember the full detail of Dae Young's divorce. I remember he was having a tough times with the in-laws and often feel small and not good enough when he's in front of them. @gilaswan @abs-oluteM There was a post I came across a while ago which the reason mentioned was that the current residents felt unfairness, as it was very hard for them to get into medicine. Yeah, in this instance, they seem to rather overwork than not having more help. From another aspect, easier to get into medicine also means introducing more competitions. The medical system will need to accommodate this influx, to be honest. Contrary to this, I was in tears when Dr. Ruth Gottesman donated US$1 billion to Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the students now will never need to pay tuition fees. Of course, with this, one can only hope the college will produce more great doctors.
  12. @Chocolate Can confirm Hae In is their own daughter. Before mentioning Soo Wan, they were talking about 胎夢. The mother dreamt of shooting star and was sure Hae In was a daughter.
  13. @abs-oluteM LOL, maybe Tofu was right to worry about this drama being written by Poong's writer.
  14. I really want to like this drama, thinking that it'll be fun, but it's... surprisingly, NOT. Someone please tell me why am I not being charmed by Moon Sang Min like he charmed me in Under the Queen's Umbrella? Whyyyy? 😭 That said I'm going to keep watching because now Ji Han has realised his feelings for Ah Jung.
  15. I actually thought he chose not to see them because he was disappointed with them (they knew Kyung Min's situation), and is not yet ready to face them.
  16. @Chocolate What do you mean you have nothing to watch? There's Queen of Tears and Wedding Impossible (did you drop this already?) --- Eun Soo Hyun is still crying/moaning for her dead son in episode 3-4. I suppose she can't be completely over it since the story began/revolved around her son's death, but I'm getting tired of watching her cry. Anyway, aside from the excessive crying, she was actively looking for the boy her deceased inmate asked her to look for. The inmate felt guilty of her crime and she genuinely wanted to apologise and compensate the boy. This inmate committed arson when she found out her husband cheated on her. The fire killed the boy's parents. The boy (Kwon Sun Yool) turned out to be Cha Eun Woo. Sun Yool at first resented Soo Hyun's approach, but felt a bit different after she acted as his guardian bailing him out of jail (from fighting). I was losing my concentration and patience with the drama to be honest, but the Show had to give me the scene of Soo Hyun receiving an anoynomous envelope with her husband kissing a woman, so I kept on. Must say, damn it, I really didn't want Soo Ho to cheat because after 7 years in jail, he was still begging Soo Hyun to come back to him. They had a talk about this, he tells this woman meant nothing and was a once-off. It supposedly happened when she was in jail at the time and refused to see him (because she wanted him to have his own life). So Soo Hyun decided to let this slide as well, because they agreed to start over. Though she says that but she admitted to Yuri (Im Se Mi) that it still bothers her. She is also curious who sent her the photo. I was paying utmost attention at Yuri's reaction when Soo Hyun tells her about this. I couldn't find anything suspicious from her expression. The only odd thing is she, too, asked Soo Hyun to bury this. The sender seems to be stalking her as well as people around her. It can be assumed that this man is the son of the man she killed (the one who murdered her son) because he had a family photo of 3 (The man who killed Soo Hyun's son, a wife and a son). This revenge thing seems to be going in circle. As for Soo Ho, it's 180° change for him this time as he is the successful one and had become the director of the broadcast station. The mystery man also sent the same photo to Soo Hyun's mother, so the mother-daughter did another round of crying. Bugged by this, Soo Hyun wanted to meet with Soo Ho. But Soo Ho lied that he has a meeting and drove out of the station. Soo Hyun followed him to a hotel where the person who opens the door to let Soo Ho in was the lady neighbour who witnessed Soo Hyun and taking video/photo of her son 7 years ago. Episode 4 ended here, so I guess I'll have to give it another week to decide.
  17. 4 Mins+ Preview Trailer I don't think he is a pushover. He did try to speak up and/or gave his opinions, but the family is just way too crazy and scary e.g., like the having baby bit, he spoke up and he didn't get any support from Hae In. After that he did try to talk about it with Hae In, too, but she was cold about it. Everyone seems to decide for him rather than asking for his opinion. That was disheartening. I would like to think he has tried to voice his difficulties with Hae In, but we'll have to wait and see because not everything is revealed yet. This drama writer likes to include easter eggs at the end of each episode. I do think Hae In needs to work on expressing her emotions/thoughts with Hyun Woo. And agreed, they can be a power-couple if they are in sync with one another. I actually felt sorry for the men, but then I wonder if it was because I'm biased towards Kim Soo Hyun. LOL! Maybe if we put a bunch of nobody (non-Oppa), I wouldn't be too sympathetic. And I was honestly quite annoyed with Kwak Dong Yeon's Soo Cheol. I thought he will be a likeable brother, but clearly, he isn't! I think Hae In is the mother's birth daughter. However, I think there's bias towards sons. Not sure the dead child's sex is, but since it begins with "Soo" and the same as Soo Cheol, I'm going to guess it's a son for now. Being a son would probably matter more since the big sister is supposed to look out for the younger one.
  18. I finally caught up with both episodes. Had a good cry along with Jeong Woo when he confided in Omma. 😭 I especially liked the part where Jeong Woo was so calm when Ha Neul was in the operation, comforting the rest of the family. It was impressive and showed he's a reliable person. I don't doubt it comes from years of experience practising in the same hospital and knowing what's best at that point in time... leading to his outburst when he found out the truth. I sure didn't expect this will be Kyung Min's end. Considered this is a Korean drama where audiences craved over-the-top melodrama, I expected a more dramatic ending for him rather than car accident resulted in death. However, I kind of like it because it's made the show more unique, going the unconventional route. Now that I learnt the full story, I'm just as conflicted as Jeong Woo on how I feel about this. It's 100% not Jeong Woo's fault. It's definitely a choice Kyung Min himself made; however, it was somewhat a cause and effect of the situation between Jeong Woo's parents and Kyung Min. I feel for Jeong Woo and the reason he finds it difficult to face his parents. His parents are two disappointing adults who only cared for themselves, but not other people's children. If they had shown a bit of warmth and caring to Kyung Min, all these may not have happened. By the way, how did Kyung Min not know that clinic was Jeong Woo's? Did they lose contact for a while..? I had thought with their future would be to work side-by-side as a partners in Dae Young's clinic. Less stress this way for both of them, too, but guess not. It was sweet of Jeong Woo to put his money to good use and also is able to work together with Ha Neul this way. Maybe the upcoming episodes, Jeong Woo will also leave the clinic and join the hospital dealing with cases such as these... The bad guys are sorted so early, what will be left to see in the last two episodes? I'm obviously expecting Dae Young and Hong Ran to become official. Hopefully there is a scene for Hong Ran to meet Dae Young's daughter. BTS
  19. @UnniSara The OTP do love each other in the beginning, but marriage life isn't fairy tales especially when in-laws are involved. They fell apart within these 3 years. It's very subtle, but at times, you can see Kim Ji Won showed that Hae In is hurt in reaction to Hyun Woo's words—indicating she loves him. Plus, in Hyun Woo's defence, she abused her brother. LOL. I didn't realise how I've missed Kim Soo Hyun. He and Kim Ji Won make a beautiful pair, especially the drama started off them being lovey-dovey kissing during their honeymoon. It gave more impact and contrast to how bad their relationship become in the present. I thought the OTP had a contract marriage, so I was anticipating a fall-in-love story. But this is not too far off as well since they have to find that love they felt for each other again. Episode 1 I felt bad for Baek Hyun Woo. Her family is so suffocating to live with. Her seemingly cold and uncaring demeaner made it even harder for him. However, not everything is what it seems on the surface, which I hope Hyun Woo will later find out Hae In does stand up for him in private settings. The gender reversal of all the son-in-laws is such a great take on how all the daughter-in-laws had to do during memorial service and public holidays. There's a sense of great satisfactory seeing all the men in the kitchen, and likewise makes my blood boils when Soo Cheol, being the son, does absolutely nothing. Agreed Kim Ji Won's fashion is something I look forward to in this drama. And @Tofu, I recognise one out of the lots—Christian Louboutin's heels. Then come episode 2, I'm not sure whether I should feel bad for Hyun Woo anymore. I understand he felt relieved he could get out of hell without suffering the consequences, but I didn't like he lied when he said he loved her. That was totally a manly survival skill kicking in and nothing sincere about it. Now I'm looking forward to watch him suffer a little with the introduction of a love enemy, Yoon Eun Seong. That said, Park Sung Hoon has already managed to piss me off (in a good way, acting wise) when he was baiting Hyun Woo's reaction and their confrontation at the hunting ground. We can feel his disrespect and scorn he directed at Hyun Woo. The smirk was especially despicable. The tension and drama in the family is no joke. I do believe in order for the OTP to be truly happy, they have to move out. That said, even though Hyun Woo seems inferior in the family, but he's a capable man in his own field. The family could rely on him and he seems to have bonded well with Aunt Hong Beom Ja. LOL! Mo Seul Hee is another interesting character to look out for, if the writer could write well throughout the drama. She's definitely scheming to get something from Queen's Group.
