  1. I can't believe all those visuals, and he also sings! Something about a man who sings...
  2. A screen capture of the error that @mademoisellesia is getting when she tries to post a suggestion.

  4. Technically, it's still my work day, but I work in front of a computer, so I have the site up to check from time to time. Angel food cake 22
  5. Nooooo. Every time I saw it, I had to fight the urge to go make noodles! kahlua and cream (it's a drink and a dessert in one!) 40
  6. It's not that I'm shipping so much, but I watched the BTS that @im0202 just posted, and did a translation, and it was just so cute! It's how he notes that Bae Doona can make any car look like a luxury car when she gets out of it, and that there must be something special about Louis Vuitton models which is a brand that BD was a muse for. So cute. And, really, I just want to see SM and YJ band together to take down the corrupt and selfish guys once again!
  7. 42 Strawberry Eclair Coming on this thread always makes me so hungry! At least @MMM8P's DP is no longer slurping noodles at me all the time.
  8. I need it to be released in the States with SUBTITLES, please!
  9. You wrote a pretty good recommendation. I'm tempted to search it out to watch. Thank you! I've had a soft spot for YYS since Chilbongie. And then the Youth Over Flowers trip to Laos sealed the deal for me. He's a very good actor, and he seems like a good person as well! Plus, smart, organized, and a little bit tricky and mischievous, too. Can't forget about the blushworthy kiss scenes in Dr. Romantic 1.
  10. I'm a big fan of Park Bo Gum which is why I wanted him to be a part of the starter pack for the Shrine. However, I have to admit that I have not done a very good job with his shrine even though I keep swearing to go back to it to make it better. If any other fan is interested in cultivating and improving his shrine as the owner, please send me a DM.
  11. My apologies. Obviously, my words were less than adequate.
  12. Yes. JH Staff crack me up all the time with their shenanigans. Do you like to jump rope?
  13. I even like him in hairstyles that I don't like on guys usually. LOL I think what it is, is that I'm rather charmed by him. I noticed him first as an actor who intrigued me because he always seemed so vulnerable and sincere in the role. I first noticed him playing the younger version of Lee Seo Jin's character in Wonderful Days, then felt my heart break for him in Naeil's Cantabile. But perhaps it was his role in Hello, Monster that may have really cemented my interest in him. And, then I had to go and watch his back filmography as well as avidly watching his subsequent works. (Oof, Coin Locker Girl. Hmm, maybe that's why I could never appreciate Kim Go Eun? LOL) Anyway, as I'm watching his dramas, I start noticing that he's getting a lot more press, and it's hard to watch anything in Korean, be it news, variety, or just interviews where PBG's name didn't come up, and everyone is in love with him, too. Then I went to SK for the 2018 Winter Olympics, and his visuals were literally everywhere! Forget the bears, I'm convinced that the official mascot for those Winter Games was Park Bo Gum. LOL Anyway, I agree with you that some of his looks are better than others of his looks, but it's also true that I find him charming in all of those looks. So, perhaps
  14. It's so like him to go to the military with no fanfare at all. He's South Korea's most beloved man. He was literally the face of South Korea during the 2018 Olympics. He's caused hysteria by being spotted on a bus. No one who has actually met him has anything bad to say about him. Comments all the time from just about everyone about how thoughtful and generous he is, and how he takes the time to really know who he is with all the time, even for an interview or a photo shoot. It's enough to make a person wonder if he's really human. Anyway, he's off to the army, but his pre-produced drama, Record of Youth is just about to air next week! Btw, I do rather love his look in the photos for this drama. Then again, I love all of his looks. Yet to find a styling of his that I didn't love.
  15. My review of this movie. If Train to Busan was about one man’s redemption as a person and as a father, even as the world descends into chaos and animalistic fears and fury around him, then Peninsula is about one man’s attempt to address the regrets that he had for his actions and inactions, in his world that has already gone dark in so many ways. Peninsula is a standalone sequel to the hit zombie movie Train to Busan, and seems to suffer both from trying to keep its distance from the original movie as well as trying to recreate some of the same leitmotifs that made the first movie a hit. Both movies focus on the development of the central character as he comes into contact with various characters in the movie. Includes spoilers for Train to Busan Includes spoilers for Peninsula In Peninsula, we don’t get as much of a back story for the protagonist, other than that he’s a career military officer. It’s a given that he’s a by the rules person as well as trained to be pragmatic about the losses. And, given the situation, it is hard to see how he could have saved his sister and nephew from what happened to them. That does not prevent his slide into a guilt-fueled depression, especially as his new life has so little meaning or purpose to it. Kang Dong Won takes the character and infuses him with a lot of conflicting emotions, anger, angst, and guilt that drives the character for better or worse. However, he’s not given enough to do by the plot. He’s actually a good guy who just wanted to protect his own family and didn’t want to take risks, and he doesn’t actually change that much throughout the movie. Even his final conundrum of whether to get onto the safety of the helicopter or to go back to save the mother isn’t really a conundrum in the sense that his responsibility in that moment of delivering the daughters to safety has been finished. Given his choice of safety of his own self versus trying to rescue the mother, it doesn’t take much choice. Since he is basically a good guy, if he had been alone in that car with the family at the roadside needing help, might he have taken the chance to let them into the car or would there have been another pressing reason why he had to drive by them without offering aid? And, given the other people on the ship, is there any other action he could have taken? Similarly, the other characters feel less fleshed out, and as a consequence, I think the viewers are not as vested in their stories or the outcomes. The action scenes are a lot of fun, though, and Kang Dong Won holds his own as an action star, though there is some repetition here of other zombie movies including its predecessor. If the ending scene to Train to Busan was emotional with a sadness mixed with relief that still felt like a satisfying ending, the ending scene in Peninsula felt more abrupt though still with a beat of relief. This movie is mostly dark, both in terms of cinematography and themes, with little relief provided during it. However, the film did not feel as if it dragged on even though its running time is just under 2 hours. I honestly don’t know if this movie would have done as well as it has if it had been competing against a full slate of new movies. As it is, it is still an enjoyable watch, and not just because I managed to catch this one at a movie theater versus watching it on the telly at home. Grade B

  17. Wait. SJ and SH are brothers, right? So, this would be a big no no! This drama just seems so angsty! To be honest, I want to watch it, mostly because of Ji Soo, who I ALWAYS enjoy watching, but I'm not sure that I can get behind what is supposed to be the pairing of SH with the FL. As @abs-oluteM and others have said, SH and FL are in two very different places in their lives. Plus if SJ and FL have feelings for each other anyway, then it doesn't make sense. Unless, SJ dies before their relationship can progress, and SH is there for her or something. Though, even that's kind of ick to expect that the FL will transfer her feelings from one brother to another. As for HSJ, it's good that they have a compelling, charismatic actor playing second lead in order to make the triangle more believable, but perhaps they cast too well? I guess the jerkiest thing that SJ does is move on the woman that his little brother has a crush on? Still, if it's true love for SJ and the FL, despite SJ's playboy ways, it seems harsh to rip them apart. Just saying.
  18. Haven't started watching this drama, and I'm still on the fence about it, but it seems as if JY's characterization and burnout may be similar to Lee Yoon Ho's in Naeil's Cantabile? If so, I may have to watch after all because I had major SLS for Park Bo Gum's LYH in NC. Then again, it could just be because it's another drama about classical music. I do enjoy the music, though not necessarily the dramas about the music. Still, it seems that this drama is drawing some favorable reactions.
  19. Here is a translation of the dialogue and captions in the behind the scenes video that @mademoisellesia posted earlier. I would have finished this translation and posted it sooner, but @mademoisellesiakept distracting me with talk about soondae and kimchi pancakes on the JangHaven Discord server. Translations are in the spoiler since it's long. But, it's cute, and there is even some material for the OTP shippers in it, though the bromance was actually cuter. I thought it was adorable how Lee Gyu Hyung was calling Bae Doona "noona" meaning older sister. I had not realized that the actors were that close for him to address her that way. But, then LJH called JSW "hyung" and thought that was totally adorable as well. It makes me think that this cast had gotten really close on the previous shoot. So sweet!
  20. Totally! The boys seem to be getting more comfortable with these online performances, and also have fun with each other. When JK and Jimin link arms to recreate the spirit of their horsing around in the MV for their mini-duet part, it was so cute. I'm glad you enjoyed it, too. I think for the first online performances, e.g. James Cordon, it was really tough on them since they're performing in their practice room to a camera without any feedback or energy from their fans. I think when the performances were moved to performance spaces, it helped them feel that it was a performance. And, then their PD's found ways to help the guys realize how many people were watching them to help sharpen them further. I was impressed with the huge monitors full of live comments from their fans for the Bang Bang Con Live as well as the rooms of ARMY bombs signifying the fans. They weren't just props, I think they were also to help the guys, and it seems to have worked. Plus, they are so close that they can be each other's feedback. Anyway, the whole song and performance is infectious, high-spirited and fun. I know that there is a lot of serious issues on the table now, especially in my country, and I'm not going to forget that. But, I also need my doses of goodness to keep from falling too deep sometimes.
  21. Don't we all have that reaction of "Oh my God!" seeing KSH all prettied up and looking tasty? LOL
  22. Thanks for the link. South Koreans have been up in arms about the corrupt Prosecution Service, and it's constantly in the news there that Prosecutors are the most despised professions. In a way, though, I feel bad for those prosecutors who weren't part of the corruption, but the more they resist a house cleaning and try to protect their privilege, the worse it's going to get. It does feel as if the senior-level prosecutors were thinking that things would just die down, but that does not seem to be happening. It's a shame that the conservative party in Korea is aligning themselves with the Christian religion and ties to the US to argue for the status quo instead of thinking of ways to better their public service. But, then again, I see what's happening in the US, and I just have no words to describe the current situation.
