  1. Yay! I am done. I was glad that the Rainbow Team did not disband at the end of the day. As long as there are wicked people in the world and a broken system , the good that the team does and the victims that they protect outweigh the bad and the risks they take. I was not surprised that KHN somewhat let the team go and joined them too. But the one who turned out pretty cool to me was her immediate superior . He resigned as a way to take on the blame for dismissing involvement of Rainbow in all the "kidnappings", and became a lawyer to help those who deserved a retrial. OYC's case moved me very much - I felt particularly sorry for his son. I am glad the son never found out who the father was , but I personally felt that OYC should know who his son was, and how much he hurt him. That is karma and the best punishment for someone like him. The scene of OYC apologising to the guy who wrongly took his place was actually my favorite scene because the drama came back full circle to what Jang had wanted in his reformist agenda. How I see it is that there was nothing wrong with what Jang wanted - reeducation of these criminals and having them fully repent. The intention is good. But there has to be a line drawn to how that has to be executed meaning that a private jail is not the best way to do it. Instead, the team can still defend those who are at a disadvantage without leaving the justice system out of it. With KHN joining them , and with Go Eun , now a cop and still part of the team, they are implying that that will be the direction to how the team will handle all the future cases they take up. This was a great drama all things considered. I am sure there are things I could pick on but I don't think there was anything I particularly disliked . Watching Lee Je Hoon for 8 weeks in an action-packed show made me happy - he is an excellent actor . I have been waiting since Signal for him to do a crime drama again, so this role made me happy. ( I am still hoping for Signal 2 more than a second season of this TBH). And I am thankful there was no romance in this drama in spite of all the shipping out there
  2. In some ways peacock grandma is pitiful...lonely when your husband loves another. ------------ Hmmm looks like Hee Soo going to pretend that she's all fine - oh my I love this revenge.
  3. @SilverMoonTea LJH doing photo shoot ...see who he bumps into at 1:30 ? BTS for Dark Hole
  4. @UnniSara @40somethingahjumma Have you guys watched the latest episodes yet? From what I understand, some being ( deity or whatever it is ) controls the monster and releases the smoke. The shaman is the messenger of this thing but she isn't the "Chosen One" . Seems like Hwa Sun is . So far she (and I think the shaman as well) is the only one with the ability to see what is happening elsewhere. The monster did not harm Hwa Sun, and now they discovered it is afraid of liquid nitrogen. The monster has been following HS and gang everywhere, and HS realises that it was able to do that undetected because it uses a host ; they discovered it was the music teacher who finally turned mutant. So far only HS and DongRim have been able to resist turning. Small highlight for me was seeing a bit more of Tae Han 's back story. The gangster in the hospital is the same one who knocked over his brother . And when he was still a cop, TH was looking for him, and the gangster was the one who got him framed for bribery. Preview BTS
  5. How fast do subs come out? I don't even know who the official subber is Just realised VIKI is subbing this. Okay maybe slower since they rely on volunteers.
  6. Same ...did he know this dark sinister side to JY? Perhaps he is aware that JY has a mean streak , goes watch these illegal matches. By the way , now old lady no longer has her singing lessons in the garden....no more peacock to watch her sing!
  7. LOL ! Don't worry. Jing Yu has proven to be a good son and a loyal friend despite his very glib way of talking. He is like a salesman that you think might con you but he really is a decent chap. I don't think our Prince Ahn would have gotten as much done if not for JY's support .
  8. Omg @LaLa that last scene ....with the blood . Looks like she will lose her baby. So it is clear that Evil Jerk Ji Yong was the one who brought Tutor Fox in. His siblings maybe greedy, spoilt and stupid but he is evil personified. Way more dangerous. TBH , I felt some sympathy for Tutor Fox today. While I cannot condone how she deceived Hee Soo, I can understand the pain of a mother who had no means in raising her own child and was forced to give her child up. If only she had not been so cunning earlier on , that I would have said that both women leave Ji Yong , and raise Ha Joon together. Funny but believable that Hee Soo would rather give up Ji Yong than Ha Joon. If there was anything good that came up from this episode was the sisterhood between Hee Soo and Seo Hyun. Seo Hyun siding , protecting and helping her sister-in-law . So rare in such shows so I appreciate that the drama went this route. Seo Hyun was the father-in-law's chosen one. The old man clearly didn't trust his children and I believed he had wanted SH to be his successor. I suppose he would have given that blue diamond necklace to her. And oh my that basement with his secret room for Ji Yong's birth mum. That was at the end of the day what he treasured most - the memories of her.
  9. Eps 15 This was probably the most emotional episode for me since it was based on a real case, and it involved Do Ki's back story. Oh Yung Chul who actually murdered Do Ki's mum later confessed to doing so in diary entries he made while currently serving jail time. (He was serving jail time for other crimes.) These diary entries were sent to Jang and KHN. But the sad part was that some of his murders were blamed on another guy (forgot his name) and that poor fella served 20 years jail time for it and loss everything ( his family left him) and is now out of jail. Kang Hana told her boss about it and they managed to find proof from 20 years ago but the statute of limitation has expired. Anyhow the guy who went to jail wrongly for it , wanted justice for the time he lost and he was angry that Oh Yung Chul cannot be charged for those cases. What the guy wanted was for OYC to apologise to him and so he called up Rainbow for the revenge. The team had wanted to disband but DK decided to take on the case. Meanwhile KHN interrogated OYC and wanted prove that he was indeed the murderer - she was suspicious about his real intentions. Was it just for the attention ? In a surprising twist, OYC said he can prove it - he asked KHN to bring the last victim's son to see him. Well this happened to be Do Ki. KHN was hesitant at first but she spoke to DK. DK went and see the guy. My goodness , I felt so much grief when OYC recited the last few words that DK's mum said to DK over the phone. That was so painful to watch. So now for DK , this wasn't just a revenge for the client but it will become very personal. Meanwhile this OYC is truly a sick man...he has a wife & son too. And we find out that his son became a prison guard who was in charge of his cell. So sad because there was a scene of him beating up the guard - he doesn't know that guard is actually his son. In the finale , we will see what happens to OYC and how DK is able to make this man regret. I don't know how that is possible because a psychopath like OYS has no remorse nor feelings. Perhaps his son is the key. Eps 15 story inspired by true events - the short epilogue at the end made me tear up
  10. Eps 3 & 4 I felt bad for SK...her death was wished by all . And her kidnapping and death seems to have brought forward what looks like a possible coup / rebellion lead by her FIL . Would it have been different if she was not mistaken for the bossam in the 1st place? Perhaps . But given that there are already underlying political strife in the palace , it was just a matter of time that the King and her FIL come head to head. The FIL clearly has a lot of support and clout. And it looks like even the King has decided to sacrifice her and use it as a way to get rid of the FIL . It was no wonder that SK decided to end her own life. Eps 4 was a highlight seeing the interactions between this "family". Ba Woo pretends not to care and is gruff in his responses , but he's got a good heart. Cha Dol cracks me up each time he tattled on his father! I love how attached he is to SK, and like wise she clearly has a soft spot for him. Ba Woo is not perfect - gambler, con, thief, etc but clearly these "career" choices were made out of necessity in order to feed his son. SK who has lived a sheltered life sees and experiences 1st hand what it was like for the ordinary folks to make a living. I am not sure what I feel about the second-lead . I don't have SLS. But it is clear that he has always loved SK , and seems like a decent person too. He is probably the only one besides her mum & nanny who wants to see her safe and alive. Let's see how much of the love triangle they will play up.
  11. Eps 2 was good . The plot is moving fast. Ba Woo in a state of panic & conflict made a couple of bad decisions - trying to kill her & trying to sell her off. However both times he could not bring himself to see them through because that isn't who he is. Soo Kyung's father-in-law , knowing that the fate of his family lied in finding SK alive , decided to declare her dead. A suicide by a heart-broken widow . Not too far fetch though those nearest & dearest to her could not believe it since it is unlike her. This also means that now SY will need to be on the run, because her FIL will have no use for her being alive. From what I gather, Soo Kyung, as precious as she is to the King , has been married off to the Vice PM's second son though the one she has affections for are Dae Yeop , the younger brother . I read that the Vice PM and the King are foes - so I don't think it was exactly something the King had wanted to do willingly but palace politics being what it is, often use marriages to secure political mileage / leverage. This isn't uncommon for royal / noble women of their time, and sadly they are nothing but a token or a prize. Hence, perhaps this mistaken bossam was a blessing in disguise for SY who pretty much lived the life of a prisoner. It is sad that she never leaves the ground of her in law's home except once a year. Apart from the interesting plot, the tension between the leads and Cha Dol's cute interactions with his "future mum" are some of the main selling points of this drama.
  12. @LaLa @ktcjdrama does this look like pre-released or was this in last week’s? At least she & Ha Joon have built back their bond
  13. Interesting, sounds like Song Kang’s character has commitment phobia https://www.allkpop.com/video/2021/05/han-so-hwee-falls-for-a-bad-boy-in-latest-nevertheless-drama-teaser Premiering next month on June 19 at 11 PM KST, 'Nevertheless' tells the story of a young college student who has reservations about the concept of love, but who still wants to find a boyfriend, by the name of Yoo Na Bi (Han So Hwee). Then, she begins seeing a boy by the name of Park Jae Un (Song Kang), a handsome devil who is against the idea of being caught up in romantic relationships. He'd rather prefer to be "close friends" with the girls he meet!
  14. But do you notice in many SK dramas, gangsters & cops ( especially if they aren’t detectives) often don’t have guns? From reading , I understand gun laws are so strict that it is hard to even smuggle them in. Not sure if that’s the reason
  15. I have no idea. I will definitely be behind schedule. Whichever drama that catches my attention will get priority watching 😂
  16. Just got off the 1st episode. I was entertained & drama is balancing the serious bits and the humor quite well. At the moment it has just been character introductions for me , but I like the leads and that cute kid Cha Dol. How adorable. I really don't have much knowledge about what bossam is ( I kept thinking only of the pork ) till I read that it is pretty criminal - it is a form of kidnapping after all. But understandably in those days, a woman's fate & future lied in who she married. A widow was seen as a burden & a curse to her husband's family. However it was an oppressive era for women - a widow could not remarry openly (especially is she wished to escape the clutches of horrible in laws) and this seems to be the only way for her to do so. I understand that in some cases such as the one depicted in the 1st case, they are pre-arranged - allowing former lovers to be able to reunite. But there's still a sinister side to it since in some cases , the women were abducted and married off by force. What I am glad to see was that Ba Woo seemed rather uncomfortable doing it , and had wanted to stop this. I have more questions about both Ba Woo's and Soo Kyung's back story...but I will watch a few more before I post them here. Have to say the cinematography is beautiful .
  17. I just caught 1st episode . Was good . Ok am sold @SilverMoonTea. Not using these to sell to @TRaNz of course..... But I laughed my head off here...( I feel like shaving of his facial hair though)
  18. I am finally up to speed. Unlike other "avenger" type shows, it is clear that the drama does not intend to glorify or should I say romanticize the idea of meting out your own form of justice. I am not sure if this was the direction the former scriptwriter had intended to take, or if this was what caused the fallout between him/ her and the production (PD) . But it doesn't look like the Rainbow team will continue with their services. Part of me agrees with the message since eps 13 & 14 were proof that things can go so wrong once you take the law into your own hands. I was rather sad to see the way Park almost died but I supposed they needed to raise the stakes . But part of me also feels a sense of satisfaction each time DoKi and the team gave those baddies a good taste of their own medicine. There are no clear answers here for me. Nevertheless DoKi did the right thing not killing Baek on the spot . He was right that death would be too easy -she needed to properly pay for her crimes. She was terribly cruel (and crazy) seeing how she planned the death of the man who was her savior and "sugar daddy". There is no redemption for someone like that. Will she be able to get herself out of this given her connections? We won't know. People of influence are corrupted and she who seems to have nine lives may very well be able to buy her way out . But DoKi made a good point . He isn't handing Baek over to the system. He is handing her over to Kang Hanna. It is people that make the difference when the system is broken. --------------- Preview - looks like DoKi keeps his promise and surrenders to KHN to pay for his "crimes"
  19. @JenL @SilverMoonTea in some dramas I am fine with the open ended type of conclusion in the romance department with small hints that the couple has potential going forward. But for this one, I do want a resolution cause their chemistry here was the selling point for me.
  20. Yay . Thanks for opening this @ktcjdrama. Two of my favorite girls in the same show .
