  1. I read they were not filmed in order....I am trying to tamper my expectations of a happy ending.
  2. The 3 peak ratings scenes for Bossam thus far https://sports.donga.com/article/all/20210602/107240052/1 MBN's 10th anniversary special project 'Bossam - Stealing Destiny' (written by Kim Ji-soo, Park Cheol, Directed by Kwon Seok-jang, here in after 'Bossam') draws a steady upward ratings curve. The main characters of a love triangle, Bau (Jung Il-woo), Soo-kyung (Kwon Yu-ri), and Dae-yeop (Shin Hyun-soo), who are writing a painful love story in the whirlwind of a cruel fate, are completing their respective masterpieces. In response, the production team looked back at some of the famous scenes of 'Bossam' (which is now in the middle of its run) using the highest viewership ratings per minute (Nielsen Korea, cable channels, national ratings). ● Jung Il-woo, The Lover's Beginning, the highest 6.1% in episode 3 According to the production team, he is Kim Dae-seok, the grandson of Kim Je-nam, Yeonheung Buwon-gun, but Bau, who has lived a low life while hiding his identity after his family was destroyed. When he accidentally found out that in his bossam assignment that Soo Kyung is the princess, he tried to kill her, and tried to sell her off t, but he couldn't. In a later scene, after they left the city , Bau insisted that they go their separate ways. However he realized that it was not possible. His son Cha-dol (Go Dong-ha) asked, “Does it really not matter if the princess dies?” At that time, Soo-kyung who went her own way had already thrown herself down the cliff. The scene, when he realized his feelings for Soo-kyung, recorded the highest viewership rating of 6.1% per minute in three episodes, signaling the beginning of their love story ● Shin Hyeon-soo's Awakening, Episode 8 , Highest 9% Soo-kyung and Dae-yeop were each other's first love and betrothed before they were brother-in-law and sister-in-law. So, after Dae-yeop learns that Soo-kyung is alive, he has been looking for a way to protect her and pursue her. However, he heard the news that Soo-kyung committed suicide after being locked up in Kim Ja-jeom (Yang Hyun-min)'s house. He saw Soo Kyung's long robe and a rope hanging from the ceiling, and even received a suicide note written by Jo Sang-gung (Shin Dong-mi). Dae-yeop did not believe in Soo Kyung's suicide, but he had to make his father and older brother believe it. As a result, he did pretended to be depressed and drunk, and as soon as his eldest brother left, he went to find Soo-kyung saying, “I can’t live without her anymore.” Due to Daeyeop's reversal, the highest viewership per minute recorded 9%. ● Kwon Kwon's Tears, episode 10 , peak rating 8.6% Bau was captured by Dae-yeop instead of Soo-kyung, who drew the forbidden book 'Oeungjeon'. Soo-kyung went to Gwan-a to meet Dae-yeop, when she overheard the conversation between the two men. She found out that Bau was the eldest son of the Kim Je-nam family in Yeonheung Buwon-gun, which was destroyed by Lee Yi-cheom (Lee Jae-yong), and that Lee Yi-cheom had put up pictures of Bau to all over Joseon to capture him and held Bau’s mother and sister hostage. She even learned that he had endured everything for her, the enemy's daughter-in-law. Soo-kyung's painful cry, realizing how Bau was protecting her, rose to the highest viewership rating of 8.6% per minute.
  3. Oh yay @1217akkum4 glad to have your company. I generally love good melodramas - mixed with crime/ revenge / romance . I love this show so far - the story is interesting and there's sufficient tension and suspense. But I don't see many people watch comparing to other dramas; maybe this show is rather heavy. I liked JJH in Misty ( in spite of the ending) and DS60 too. And Yeon Woo Jin who plays his younger counterpart is also an actor I crush on from time to time. eps 11 Hmm not surprising @SnowBlob, that Im killed Kim Tae Yeol in the cell. This episode I felt very sorry for Go Yoon Joo. As a female undercover agent needing to penetrate into the underworld, she's got to sacrifice a lot. Sleep with the gang boss ( she told him she was sad cause of the abortion she had) , forced to become a junkie etc. And Im HR was a horrible boss, and the worst part was that she witness him kill Kim Tae Yeol. It is no wonder , she's so trapped and feels lost. Without rehabilitation she could not give up her drug addiction. And I think because she knew a lot of things, she was always on the run. Really so sad. The moment that Yeon Soo picked up Go Yoon Joo's phone and realise she has seen GYJ hugging Jung Hyun, it was like opening the pandora box. It didn't take long for her to realise that a lot of things Jung Hyun has told her don't match up. She found out GYJ cannot be his friend from the orphanage since her parents are alive. The old man (JH's dad) from the nursing home died 2 months ago, not recently. The real Jung Hyun from the orphanage is actually dead. But she kept her cool and did not confront him just yet ...but JH can tell she's troubled and her countenance has fallen. Then the final scene of JH fighting the Ghost ( Im's guy) confirmed all her fears. Looks like Im doesn't quite trust DYG anymore ...he uses his own agent/ killer to get the job done. But the good thing is that at least YS saw DYG in the theme park, and this will set off alarm bells for her and at least she will be wary of DYG. The latter is still able to track every thing she does. -------- Happier times ...MV using OST 5
  4. I read from Naver that In Bum moves into her 1st floor...ahahaha...cohabitation trope finally coming in? Aishhh can she stop being so angry and take a good look at how sexy he is in 1:40 ? LOL
  5. @NiteWalker set alarm on your phone...every one or two hours buzz to remind you to take a break away from the monitor ..walk a bit , stretch. Gives your eyes a rest.
  6. Yes correct. Though it is not clear if the other doc is alive or not .
  7. @SilverMoonTea @Sominah @Warm Paws @Yoon Ji looks like a very cute rom -com. Been so long since I have seen an office romance with all the tropes - seemingly nasty jerk boss with an overworked employee ! New stills https://www.newsen.com/news_view.php?uid=202105310957230310
  8. It is traumatic for children to have to witness things like that. The way Jung Tae was acting out after he and Myung Soo returned back to camp (phew that they did) shows how shocked he was seeing his father like that, but he doesn't have any one he can confide in. One of my wishes is that the brothers can become closer. JT could do with some good male role model in his life. I am glad from the preview that Soo Chan is alright. But the question is now what has happened to Hee Tae. I am worried that somehow MHee will be dragged into all this, some sacrifice of their relationship is needed again for him to remain alive. I agree that this drama is very well-written. It is not trying to preach a message but it tells it as it is. Not everyone affected by the Gwangju uprising were protesters wishing to change the world. Many became casualties for just being bystanders , somewhat collateral damage. The soldiers were brutal but many of them were just impressionable young adults who had no choice but to follow orders and were equally as scared . There were good people among those in authority like the cop ahujussi who died and the hospital doctors who risk their lives to save the injured on the streets. Our protagonists here were just two ordinary lovers trying to find a way to be together . They ended up helping because it was the human thing to do.
  9. Always thought airing was in Sept anyway. Wed / Thurs drama
  10. I am really happy he has that potential NF drama. At least we know we will get to see him after YOM
  11. @mademoiselle I will definitely watch. I need to finish up 3 dramas . Dark Hole & YOM will be done soon as well as Sell Your Haunted House .
  12. @stroppyse maybe not all is lost & you can still watch . Lol! I hope she’s the FL & not the other one . Haha . I’m so bad
  13. @akikisetsu oh yes !!!! So happy. Am just waiting for her other drama to air.
  14. Haha. @mademoiselle so excited now !! Yes @Tofu you won’t regret watching LDH. He’s a great actor Plus I really enjoyed Midnight Runners !
  15. Main reason I am watching Though the drama immediately draws comparisons to Descendants of the Sun because of their similar themes, the novel for My Dear Guardian was published before the airing of the Korea drama. In addition, the rescue mission scenes in My Dear Guardian were filmed with extreme realism and the longer 40-episode format allows for more intricate character and plot development outside of the main romance. Despite his physically demanding role, Jinyu had earlier expressed that it is his “childhood dream to become a special forces soldier.” Because of family influence, the 28-year-old actor has admired soldiers and troops since young. As such, he believes there is some fate to be able to play the character. Playing similar uniform roles before, Johnny gained relevant experience that laid a solid foundation for the difficult and risky action scenes in My Dear Guardian. Hoping to present his best action performance to audience, Jingyu put huge efforts to make himself mirror a real solider as closely as possible, and perfected every gesture from small gun movements to walking postures.
  16. Oh my ...that was cheesy with a capital C....I mean the romance set up was a bit much and I don't know if I am warmed up to the FL yet. I didn't mind her being courageous and brave during the hostages scene but I found their interactions quite exaggerated especially her reactions to him. They didn't have to force it - from the very 1st scene of him accidentally spitting water on her food right to this set up co-habitation by their mothers, doesn't seem organic or natural enough. Plus points was that the action scenes were good and Johnny looks hot with and without his uniform on. Those arms look lovely. I guess that will see me through the initial episodes. I hope there's a good plot and that doctor here will calm down.
  17. ahahaha...ya @JenL melodrama is the word. Also it is based on history during some real dark times in SK ( Gwangju uprising ) , so it is very tragic. But I tend to like heart wrenching stuff , so to an extent my taste is not for everyone. Tomorrow With You made me cry. Where Stars Land - I was just admiring the airport a lot ...I didn't feel emotionally connected. CSB's character may seem stubborn at first but I think I have seen more unlikeable female leads. LOL
  18. Oh when Jin A dad came he told MH , he thinks he saw Myung Soo in the town centre Oh dear the two younger brothers had left camp to come to the city for some fun, not realising that what is happening So that's why Myung Hee wanted to go with the ambulance to pick up victims. Hee Tae won't let her go alone & followed. My gosh, in the soldiers shot anyone even the one of the doctor. MHee heard the faint cry of a kid and saw a shoe that looks like her bro and she ran to look ...Hee Tae tried to stop her but couldn't . She almost got shot This scene was super emotional. MHee found the kid...not her brother. Then Kyung Soo who had orders to beat anyone even the medical team who helped the civilians was going to hit MHee but could not. Hee Tae saw and wrestled with Kyung Soo. Later they realised it was each other. Stunned, Kyung Soo could not shoot or stop them. Think Hee Tae told him Seok Chol ( the girl in coma ) is in Gwangju. Then MH and HT left with the ambulance I am glad that they are each other's safe harbour His poor friend Kyung Soo got reprimanded for failure to shoot / hit the rioters. And oh my the two boys actually saw all the violence and Jung Tae saw his father! Apparently later on while Myung Soo got back to camp safely, Jung Tae was missing Final scene...Think they were supposed to go on another round to the town to help or something , then MHee father came ...so Hee Tae told her to stay back to talk to the dad. He will go with the other doc...and my goodness ...some truck came charging at the ambulance they were in!
  19. Eps 10 ( wahh this drama is depressing) So since they didn't go off, they continue to help out in the hospital. Hehe, Myung Hee so happy to hear the nurses praise Hee Tae, saying he's better than some of the interns. Later HT grabbed MH to go wait with him at the Emergency entrance. So funny because he when they bicker he says she is the reason he is doing this. LOL...she was like stop nagging . Then a patient came in the ambulance. And the soldiers are very vicious - think they are shooting the civilians. Flashback to Kyung Soo and Hee Tae's friendship before KS join the army. And some scene in the army showing how uncomfortable KS is having to load bullets in his gun. Gun shots can be heard ...Soo Ryeon's father trying hard to contact Soo Chan. Not knowing that Soo Chan has been captured ...Poor Soo Chan, already injured got kicked further for trying to help someone who passed out Our caring Myung Hee cannot bring herself to leave. (Jinah's dad came and was very grateful they saved her. )
  20. Yes...let's not forget the trauma she caused me for the ending of On Your Wedding Day
  21. I watched eps 10 and by far one of the best. This is no doubt this is one of those clutch-your-heart romances that you want so bad to take-off but their circumstances is going to be such a hindrance. When she called out Ba Wu's name when he was caught, it was clear who resides in her heart. And when he turned back, the emotions in his eyes was that of longing , worry and affection. Of course that ending jail scene was just superb ...not much said between them but the tears, hand-holding and touching each other's face felt better than a kiss. ( I do still expect a kiss later in the show though!) . Tears were streaming down my face towards the end - the buzz on Naver was warranted. We're not just talking about tangible chemistry of the OTP here, which many will agree is pretty fantastic. It is also the way the writer has written the plot and tied in the scenes. For example SK's artistic talent was put to good use as she became a novelist for the 1st time. I loved how it went from drawing porn to coming up a "flick-chick" type romance. Many hilarious moments here. But of course the story was rather scandalous for its time, and because it was the talk of the town it got to the ears of the King , and became a forbidden book. This lead to Dae Yeob's investigation and as we saw the capture of Ba Wu. And more importantly, SK in wanting to check on BW's condition at the jail, sneaks in and overhears BW and DY's conversation and discovers who BW actually is. That for me was good storytelling. Now, I am really annoyed at what DY is doing in the name of protecting SK. I know he is "following" and seemingly helping his father so that he can ensure that he is aware of his father's plan and ensure that the father does not catch SK. But to gain the father's trust, he captured BW's mum & sister to bait BW. . And the preview - errrrrr he is telling SK to leave him right so that BW will live? I love the bond between father & son. I just hope that Cha Dol is not separated for too long from his father. I miss him nagging his "old man".
