  1. @bairama What Rain or Shine?

I see there is some kind of war out there because someone said Nabi is a b*tch but I don't think it's like that. My frustration come from the way their conversation is going on before the kiss scene, and all the events before that in ep 7. Dohyeok makes me stress as well. But I think it is natural flow of the story.

Nabi - I don't want to judge so soon yet whether or not she is a b*tch. However it's clear that she isn't over Jae Eon and upon seeing the phone call from Do Hyuk, she not only ignored it she wanted to continue on with the kiss. That's the bit I didn't like. Since this is a 19+ drama, let's be blunt - she was feeling lustful and at the moment wanted to go spicy with Jae Eon. It probably has been a while since they fought.

I think the fault is not in Nabi if Do Hyuk insisted on chasing her when he knows she likes Jae Eon. However it would be inappropriate if Nabi don't reject Do Hyuk after his confession. She needs to sort out her priority/heart. She would be a player herself if in the next episode she dates/sees Do Hyuk, or treats him like a rebound and thinks of Jae Eon.

It does happen in real life I get that but doesn't make it a likeable story.

This episode is dap dap hae because nothing really got resolved or cleared up. It's as clear as mud and I don't like it either that Jae Eon is doing wordplay. If you don't have a girlfriend SAY IT CLEARLY rather than, "Is that the issue?" - WTH is that? Like dude, I get it, you are interested (and very) into Nabi but the girl still needs to know your true heart. This is why I much prefer Sunbae because the Hyun Seung is crystal clear from the get-go of his heart to the end. :pandarage2::pandarage:

And btw, is Jaeeon probably saw the Nabi's sclupture by her ex at first episode? Idk but the preview of ep. 8 makes me have impression like that. And someone appoint about that too somehow.

It's suggestive, yes. But I think it's just the editing.

Sol makes me think she wanted to runaway because she knows her feeling for Jiwan? Jiwan is still annoying to me though.. I don't see any depth on her character by far.

Yeah she probably wanted to go overseas in the beginning to run away but then she realises she couldn't because Ji Wan won't let her. Not every character has time to develop depth unfortunately. We'll be thankful the story isn't ruined for the main leads lol.

think I should watch that series too. Haven't watched it yet! Will add it to my watchlist after your posts + scanning some reviews. Though I like to read why you love it moi!

Hahahaha! The first 2 episodes will be a bit hard because there's cheating boyfriend to get through first. You are welcome to back-read our posts. I think for one, both leading characters are likeable. Secondly, male lead character had always been there for the female lead, protecting her and loving her even though she doesn't love him at first. The side-characters are good too apart from the main second leads (that part you are more than welcome to FF, LOL!)

I haven't watched it either and want to know the answer to this question too -- is it worth the watch?

Can you and @JenL just kidnap Do Hyuk away from Nabi? 😫 I am so annoyed watching Nabi acting all uncomfortable and worried of any misunderstanding there was something between her and Do Hyuk whenever Jae Eon is around. She was literally walking on eggshell (so to speak) even though she tried to act tough/ignore him! She keeps stealing glances at Jae Eon and gets jealous when Do Hyuk's cousin hit on Jae Eon.

One thing I find Chae Jong Hyeop scary is when he is smiling he's so sunny but when he isn't, he looks super pissed.

And Sol's sexuality is now confirmed 🥲 I still cannot like Ji Wan. She keeps acting cute to get what she wants. She does it to Nabi when Do Hyuk gave Nabi his trophy doll. She does it to Sol as well. And what was that "I like you" confession. Is it supposed to mean as a friend or more than that?

Finally Bit Na and Kyun Hyun. LOL. I thought JTBC said they will reduce Kyun Hyun's screen time but from this episode it has more than he usually does 🤣. Maybe it is necessary and will only be less from next episode onwards. But I hope not if we want to tell a proper story.

I wanted to calculate by age given, but you know how Koreans are with the way they calculate their ages, so I felt it won’t be reliable anyway. We should get more clues later, just being impatient here haha...

It should be the same (+1 year). I got the 38 yo from tvN character description.

  5. @ktcjdrama Have to revise the timeline a bit. I forgot to check the scene of Young Do's flashbacks of when he was left at the orphanage by his father.

    Spoiler

Chae Joon / Choi Jeong Min confessed to (E3):

    - killing Kim Myeong Ja on 13 March 2003

    - killing police office Lee Jeong Beom on 3 June 2018

    - killing Cho Gwang Hun on 18 December 2020.

Kim Myeong Ja is the woman at Nanum Jeil Prayer House/Orphange.

Lee Jeong Beom is the police officer whose heart was transplated to Young Do.

Cho Gwang Hun died at building 99 but we don't know his relation to the twins.

    1992 (E2)

    - The twins' mother drug the older twin and abandoned him at the orphanage.

    - Young Do stayed at the orphanage for a while and met Ian Chase there.

    1994 (E1, E6)

    - Da Jung met the twins at the dodgy church.

    - Young Do (11 yo) stayed at the orphanage for a while.

    March 2003 (E5)

The twins met. The one running out of the house in nosebleed was wearing high school uniform so he might be Choi Jeong Min (he has a name tag with 3 words on). They then exchanged clothes and the uninjured twin went back in. The woman lying there (dead?) doesn't look like it is Kim Myeong Ja but the twins' mother. The man zipping up his pants looked like the man from the Nanum Jeil Orphanage, Nam Jin Bok. Did he perhaps kill their mother or rape her? This part isn't clear. Nam Jin Bok then injured the twin's forehead. 12 hours later, they seem to be in a hotel room where the forehead injured twin tells the nosebled twin, "Don't forget how far I went for you. The shadow should't covet the light."

Young Do met one of the twins in the restroom washing blood off his uniform. From the blood on his face, it looks like the twin with the nosebleed. Based on the scar on his face, it is the twin who exchanged clothes with the nosebled twin.

1994 is likely the year Young Do met the twin at the orphanage now. In E6, the father said to the mother Young Do was only 11 years old. Young Do is 38 years old in current timeline.

So if the twins switched in 1994 at the church then Young Do might have met Chae Joon instead then the twin who stepped on Young Do's foot would be Chae Joon in the past and present. It would also explain why Ian Chase doesn't react to every memory asked of him because it may not be his.

In E6 Ian was dreaming and it seems like on that same day, one of them were being sent to the US. We were shown the man was going to take the twin with the jumper... by the way, why is Ian always dreaming he's in the water? What's the symbolic meaning of this?

You were right about the twin Young Do met in 2003. The nosebled twin didn't have a scar in the middle of his face.

Now that we have this sorted, it has become a lot more intriguing because the mystery here is to figure out which twin is which. Another mystery would be there is another man stalking them, and potentially he is the person who murdered Chae Joon. I'm not one bit believing Chae Joon committed suicide.

  6. Episode 9

Agree. Soo Hyun made me cringe for her actions. I'm fine with her hanging out with Elijah etc., but she should NOT have stop the car and went tackling those idiots herself. I get that a person's life is in danger at that moment but by going in alone, she endangered more lives. She should have stayed in the car, call for backup, lock the car door or Elijah should have before doing all those stunts! *#&(*&$(*&#$

Thank god Elijah would still call her samchun up for help and they were nearby. And I will say it again, Ji Sung looks so handsomely badass in that scene. Choke away, Judge Yo Han. Hahaha. That TV personality guy is insane and now I'm worried because now he knows Elijah, and she's Yo Han's weakness. At one point I even wonder if Sun Ah was behind this. But it doesn't seem like she was. Then again, a fan can easily turn against their idol so this TV personality could easily work with Sun Ah/Cha Kyung Hee later. Our heroes should always be cautious.

I was being suspicious about the housekeeper's cooking for a while and wonder if she's a bad cook and finally it has been confirmed. I think she didn't start off being a bad cook but over the years, in worrying about their health, she decided to put in those yucky healthy ingredients that damage the flavours. LOL!

It was so sweet of Yo Han and Elijah to gulped it down without telling her the truth, knowing her good intentions. Awww. LMAO at poor Ga On. And omg, I just love the below scene and crave more of this happy family and precious, harmonious moment. And Yo Han's smile in the car. *Melts* Ga On has melted the ice sculptures and brought warmth back into the house. I was so touched I nearly wanted to cry.

Ok, Sun Ah. I'm a little bit bugged by her "Can't Master Yo Han be a little bit nice to me?" — the way this line was said, it carries a hidden meaning which I interpreted that she genuinely wants to Yo Han to be nice.

    Spoiler

I am quite worried they outright bribed Cha Kyung Hee's secretary like that. Man like this knows no loyalty. They can sway both ways. I agree that was a funny scene whereby Ga On offers him 2.5 millions and it didn't work. Yo Han makes his grand entrance by taking it away, his façade falters. Dang, he lost himself 1.5 millions! And bloody hell! Just exactly how rich is Yo Han to own GOLD BARS (it awakens my Vincenzo's vault dream again :lmao2:). I honestly can't even guarantee I wouldn't be moved by those gold bars.

In regard to Judge Jin Joo, I understand her ambition to succeed especially having worked so hard all her life and from a less prestigious background. However I'm disappointed in the set-up of her character, purely because I expected more from this actress and it doesn't seem like she has a meaty role (give me back the Veronica Park's sass and quirk!). I honestly hope the writer has more up his sleeves for Jin Joo, be it become corrupted or maybe deliberately acting this way tasked by Yo Han. I mean, our hero is a Maestro who ensures he has the upper-hand before the game starts. If he truly knows his Art of War, he would be planning for the "big picture" and I don't see why he hasn't already made Jin Joo a deal to pretend to be the betrayer. Ga On is more of the wild card here and the harder one to persuade because he could neither be bought by fame, money nor career advancement promises.

Just me obsessing about height of these K-celebs...

Where should I start...... maybe that this drama sort of reminded me of When Camellia Blooms?

Oooh, you're right. It is quite similar in this instance however my interest level wasn't as high for Camellia. I think mainly because I really liked the characters in this one more than the characters in Camellia, except Da Jung, being the most bland of all characters.

Kim Dong Wook surprised me because he has his comedic side, and definitely he is able to up the romantic side too.

Have you seen him in Find Me in Your Memory? He did romance well there too.

    13 hours ago, ktcjdrama said:

The mystery. Seriously, I am still not sure who Ian Chase is. One twin is more timid and gentle, the other one is the sociopath. The twins were together in the orphanage when Da Jung went there, but why do I remember only the older one was sent there? Then how come there were two of them there? One who patted Da Jung's head (same one as the one hiding under the tree), the other one who denied patting her head. Which one is the one in the picture? One is wearing a jacket, the other one is not. Also, there is a possibility that they agreed to a switch during their teenage years when they met, isn't it? Although with the toothbrushes request, Ian Chase is probably the older one who had trauma of having to share toothbrushes.

I haven't paid as good attention as I should about this mystery murder case to be honest, because the names and faces are confusing to me. At this point, I only remember Kim Myeong Ja because she is the actress who plays Ji Hwa in Beyond Evil.

I've gone back & forth to check the details, lol. So far...

    ======

Interesting how after all this, I still could not figure out who is who. LMAO. But I think at least we can be sure the kid at the orphanage Young Do met with the toothbrush trauma was Ian.

I'm guessing the twin who patted Da Jung's head is Chae Joon/Choi Jeong Min (younger brother) because he's the more cheery one. And the gloomy one is the older one with no name, Ian Chase. I remember Kim Myeong Ja was talking about selling the kids, perhaps the older twin which is Ian was sold to the US.

Could the twins perhaps switch themselves in 1994 and then switch again in 2003? Reason being this line: "Don't forget how far I went for you. The shadow should't covet the light" because my understanding is that the older twin is the shadow, the twin without the name.
