  1. I don't seem to see the latest episode uploaded anywhere, so only watching the clips for now, so a few thoughts. 1. It seems that SJ may finally find out about JH being his son? That was a shocker of an episode ending, but at least almost all of the interested parties are in the room? 2. Also, a bit shocking at the quarrel at the family table with the cousin declaring he doesn't consider them family any more. Wonder if his studio actually makes enough money for him and his family without relying on SJ any more? 3. Interesting that there doesn't seem to be a preview for the next episode posted.
  2. No worries. I'm fine with you sharing. Thank you. I'm also glad that SR is being feisty. However, I share her father's concern about SR keeping the fact that she and NS used to be a couple hidden from MY and JH. I think it's mostly about embarrassment about having been with him at this point, but it could be seen as something more negative once it's revealed, just as how NS thinks that SR is doing all this as revenge against him.
  3. I love the father! Father: Your mom and grandmother, even though they’re thinking surely not, still seem to be in shock. SR: Cho Nam Soo, that evil jerk. Father: Nam Soon said that he and that man’s daughter had agreed to get married. However, are you not even considering breaking up with that man? I’ve seen that man before, haven’t I? (flashback) Father: Uhh, opening hours are over. MY: Oh, yes. (flashback) Father: Oh, I’m so sorry about this. It’s because there is a family gathering today. Oh! I had made some braised rib curry and some curry pasta, would you like me to wrap some up for you? MY: Oh, yes. Thank you so much. Father: It was that man I had seen, right? SR: Yes. Dad, you met Mom and big sister, so you’re happy. What’s important about him having a daughter? That person’s daughter also wants us to do well. Father: Even though, if you do well, then you become Nam Soo’s mother-in-law and he becomes your son-in-law? SR: I want to split them up. That person’s daughter is unsuitable for Nam Soo, because she’s a nice and innocent person. Father: That is a matter for those people (meaning NS and JH). That person and his daughter, they don’t know about Nam Soo and your past, do they? SR: I don’t want them to know. Father: How can there be any secrets in the world? (meaning nothing is a secret forever) SR: It’s a bit complicated for me, too. I just need a little more time, dad. Father: So Rim, for dad, whatever you decide to do, I’m on your side. However, I wish there wasn’t anything where my daughter ends up getting very hurt.
  4. I thought the 2nd half of this scene was pretty funny. NS: President Park! Are you really going to be like this? Park: Because the price of the materials have all gone up, I can’t sell it at that price any longer. Please understand, Manager. NS: Someone listening to you might think that you were some really skilled craftsman or something. You’re only selling a measly ingredients, so what are you going on about materials cost? Park: Please be understanding. NS: Even without you, there are a lot of places we could buy it from. Either meet the price (we demand), or quit (being a supplier). Park: Manager, take this and at least buy yourself a meal. (me: He’s trying to give a kickback.) NS: What the…? (noticing the cctv camera) Who do you think I am? Take it and go. Hurry and leave! NS: Geez, really. SR: Manager Cho? Your ability to treat vendors rudely is as ever. NS: What the heck are you saying right now? SR: Back then, didn’t you also brag that you scolded a supplier owner? NS: Please forget all of your cherished memories about me. SR: Why did you come to my house? NS: Because I have no desire to have you as my mother-in-law. Oh, also, the CEO longs for his ex-wife. You should know that before you get your hopes up. SR: Manager Cho? SR: I’m going to marry CEO Shin Moo Young, and separate you two, so just know that. Pretty and kind Ji Hye-shi, can’t be given to you. So, SR is referring to the fact that NS likes to humiliate owners of the companies who supply their company since those owners have no choice but to take it if they want to keep their contracts. A lot of the smaller vendors may have only 1 major account that they are supplying, so if they lose the contract, then the companies are utterly ruined. So, those owners have to deal with jerks like NS who are relatively low on the corporate ladder, but who may still run the contract reviews and relationships. I do like SR finally putting NS down. NS already realizes the danger inherent in SR which is why he's been working so hard to sabotage her. MY and JH still need to find out about SR and NS' past though. I kind of want SR to be the one to tell MY, so that he won't wonder why she was hiding it when it comes to light, though there are reasons why it would be better for JH to learn some other way than SR.
  5. That's an interesting line of thinking, that Ms. Im was passed over so that HM could have the position since she came in through the family recommendation. Basically, that makes HM the nepotistic hire. I just always thought that Ms. Im was the actual rational office staff member who isn't always looking to cut corners, slack off, or weasel into bettering herself in some ways. She's the one who calmly wants to hear the details and also help figure out solutions rather than immediately jumping up and screaming that it's YY's fault as HM and the male weasel co-worker seem to do no matter what. Ms. Im should be the Team Leader rather than HM just based on competency and level-headedness. Oh yeah, also, Ms. Im doesn't keep trying to disadvantage the company for the sole purpose of her own personal obsession agenda.
  6. It's common for the evil 2nd FL to get significant screen time, but what's interesting about HM is actually how incompetent she is. She schemes but she gets found out pretty quickly, so it's really just a series of desperate moves that feel as if it's just filler, plus frankly illogical for office life. So, she frames an intern with putting in the wrong order, but as SJ pointed out, HM as the intern's supervisor should have checked her work. What company would give unchecked authority to order supplies to an intern without checking invoices at least? HM acts as if she's the daughter of the company rather than a relatively low level employee, and no one seems to be checking her work? It's actually not even clear who HM reports to. I know she goes directly to SJ or HH, but as only a Team Leader, she should be reporting to a department head or something rather than going straight to the C Suite. HM also has a rather unusual background for someone so unhinged and delusional, meaning she comes from a stable family with parents who love each other and love her as well. So, the only motivation for her behavior is that she was an overly loved and indulged daughter? That basically just makes her a spoiled brat, and so her character feels pretty petty. HH is also petty and has way too much time on her hands. I laugh at scenes where either HH or HM talk about how busy they are and how competent they are, because it's as if the drama realizes that they should also be doing something pertaining to their jobs even if it's all off-screen and somehow squeezed into those moments when they're not plotting another failure. Right now, none of the plot lines are that engaging so perhaps the WS-HH-SJ plot will bring some more interesting twists? I'm repulsed by the EJ-DS line since DS is still just an incompetent, immature victim of his mother's ambition. EH seems to not have a story line of his own right now, and I don't really count DY's crush. As for KJ-YY-MRN-grandfather, that is the most heart warming, so more scenes of them being happy would be welcome, but even that plot line seems to be mostly about the MIL and HM's parents. sigh
  7. @Mizv and @Zoaze, selfishly, I want you to keep watching and posting, of course! However, I totally understand the way you feel. It was better for me because I had a heads up from reading your posts before I actually watched the recent episodes. Too many twits who make me want to smack some sense, civility and kindness into them. I doubt that would be the case. The house and the restaurant are both the grandmother's as the show has laid it out. CY hopes to someday inherit it, but it's still the grandmother's right now.
  8. Nice idea, but it's not in YY's nature to demand something like that. I think YY has felt okay for the most part, because it's really the MIL who is the problem. The FIL and the grandmother have been genuinely nice and encouraging to YY, while DS and DY are immature kids who just accepted YY as being part of the family. I think it's interesting that there was this assumption that YY would just continue to be a member of the family by everyone. It's probably not far from the truth, however, given how difficult it is for single parents to date again, much less get married, especially single mothers. From an episode last week, it seems as if the FIL and the MIL had discussed YY one day leaving the family, but it seems that the MIL had not actually believed that YY would ever leave of her own volition. Thinking it through culturally, the MIL probably thought that someday after MRN was older or in college, that she would probably set YY up with some ajusshi to be in her own household. At the end of the day, what's really irritating to the MIL seems to be that YY wants to be happy and wants to be able to live her life rather than being at the MIL's beck and call as she had been, however, the MIL can only justify it by saying it's a "betrayal" of her dead son. It's utterly pathetic.
  9. Thanks for tagging me @Nohamahmoud2002, this actually looks pretty good!
  10. Preview translation KJ: Just tell me everything before it’s too much later. Just as you were my eyes when we were younger. SJ: Later on, I’ll tell you everything. HM Father: Young Yi has someone that she’s seriously dating. It seems that Mother has already met him as well. HM Mother: Mirinae’s Mom is talented! YY MIL: Mother-in-law, that jerk has filled the child with such nonsense, she’s saying that the three of them are going to live together! YY MIL: What are you doing just standing there?! Get out of my house immediately! LOL. I think YY's MIL is forgetting it's the grandmother's house anyway, not YY's MIL own home. I would hope the grandmother would step in and put the little twit in her place. Since she's been supportive of YY having a life of her own, I don't think she'll stand for YY being thrown out of her house. That MIL needs to be slapped. And, the funny thing is that if it had been her son who was widowed, she would have already set up numerous marriage meetings for him saying that it's not good for him to be alone. Of course, given how YY does so much of the work around the house, including the cooking and the cleaning, I guess that MIL also likes having an unpaid servant that she can boss around so that she can slip off to meet her own friends. Whatever. Super annoying preview. I'm not sure that I"m going to hold out much hope. That is in its middle stretch as well, so it's just going to get angsty. I don't think the pencil couple are going to clear up their various misunderstandings as yet, though it would be nice if they did, meaning also that the jerk would be revealed for the money grubbing jerk that he is.
  11. Ooh, I like that idea as well. Though, KJ may not feel as if he can marry YY since he doesn't have a home to bring her to, and he's the style that once they were married, he would want to live with YY and MRN. Also, I think he would want the formal wedding and everything for YY rather than just register the marriage. Still, I would totally like it if they did! Apparently. Well, abused children repeat their parents because it's all they know. The more I see of SJ, the sorrier I feel for him. He deserves someone way better than HM, but he may not feel he deserves anyone better than that. Also, I'm still suspicious as to whether SJ is actually the son of KJ's father. I don't think SJ would be chased out of the home or the company if that happens, but that also definitely changes the family dynamics in that household. Ideally, HH and her husband should go live on their own, while KJ, YY, and MRN live with the grandfather. SJ could also live there, at least until he decides to move out on his own. I don't feel that HM was punished at all for the trick she pulled by using YY's id to over-order the ingredients, even though SJ suspected her of being the one to do that. HM is acting as if she is the daughter or at least the DIL of the company already, and someone really just needs to put her in her place. Agreed that HM's mother is stupid anyway, but I was also disappointed at HM's father for asking KJ to accept her, knowing full well that KJ was not interested in HM at all. It really speaks to the parents' spoiling of HM which is why she's the insufferable entitled brat that she is. I basically fast forward through all of HM's scenes now. Though I did watch the clip of her rooftop conversation with KU because I was also curious as to whether KJ would let HM touch his face. Even though he moved her hand away, I'm surprised that he did allow her to touch his face and linger on it. I thought he should have immediately stepped back and acted revolted.
  12. Yes! Why is he letting her touch him?! I thought KJ had drawn a line already, but especially after seeing the message that HM sent to YY, I would have thought KJ would be even more forceful about not allowing any personal liberties. Just saw the clip of the grandfather scolding his son and HH for firing a dedicated employee for personal reasons. Loved it that the grandfather then threatened that if they were going to keep acting so unprofessionally that he, the grandfather, would also starting mixing personal with work and possibly fire them from their seats. In my opinion, no reason that he can't since his son has his position by virtue of being the son and HH has her position because she married his son. There is nothing to say that they are that effective in their positions anyway, especially since they seem to spend so much time plotting personal stuff. The company would probably be better off just getting rid of the son and HH, and letting SJ and KJ manage the company.
  13. Nice thought! That sounds pretty fantastic, and it's fun to watch their clips again. Not to mention they have the least annoying story line in this drama right now.
  14. I wouldn't be surprised either, except SJ would stick up for KJ and say it didn't happen. HM would have to figure out a way to actually get KJ passed out, and then get into bed with him and get his sperm in order to get her way. She's too immature to realize that what she feels for KJ isn't love, it's not even obsession. I think it's a matter of hurt pride. HM was outraged that YY didn't think that she HM could seduce KJ even. Well, HH would collude with HM in order to try to make it work. I'm not sure why HH is so keen on HM as KJ's wife any more anyway, except possibly because HH knows that KJ would be miserable and it's a way of bending the Jang men to her will? It's lovely that their relationship has so much trust in it, and they are able to communicate with each other. I'm so tired of OTP who take misinformed unilateral decisions based on bad assumptions and "not wanting to hurt the other person" type stuff.
  15. Preview translation Mrs. Ahn: Young Yi, I heard that you were dating Kyung Jun. I will also support you. EH: Was mother always such a childish person like this? That mother was this kind of a person hurts me deeply. HH: There’s no need to be concerned about that Lee Young Yi. After all, she’s going to leave soon. KJ Father: I’m just going to get her resignation tomorrow at the office. Grandfather: Who is deciding to get her resignation?! Grandfather: Aren’t you going to tell the truth?! Since Mrs. Ahn told YY her words of encouragement in front of EH, then she must have wanted to make it definite to EH that YY is not a possible partner for him. For whatever reason. I'm sure there is desire to protect her son, relief that he won't be involved with YY, and probably also some genuine encouragement for YY and KJ since KJ's grandfather approves of it. It occurs to me that KJ's father still isn't aware that YY was handpicked by the grandfather to work in that company. I'm not sure if HH is aware or not, but it doesn't matter since she would have tried to get rid of YY even if she was the grandfather's person as she tried to do with others who supported grandfather. Can't wait to see them being told off. Ultimately, both HH and her husband need to lose their positions in the company as people who are willing to sacrifice the company in a short-sighted fashion for their own personal gains. Ditto for HM. True. The actress playing HM is doing a good job, and putting her all into her scenes to make her extra despicable. LOL Agreed and agreed.
  16. Actually, it wasn't too bad. At least it had an ending where the right OTP ended up together. It was very touch and go though since it started off with the FL married to another man before she ends up with the right man. Yes. Just watched the ending clip where she sent a message to YY about how she spent the night in KJ's bedroom and he won't be able to make it to meet YY. I'm even starting to get a bit pissy that SJ is being so indulgent with HM. Talk about someone who needs to be "put in her place".
  17. I thought I was just naming weekend dramas where the kiss scenes were particularly hot??? I wasn't saying anything about how good the plot was or how makjangish it may be.
  18. One of the hottest weekend dramas that I can remember is 'Happy Home' with Kim So Yeon and Lee Sang Woo. Though, they then went on to become a RL couple who ended up getting married.
  19. Yeah, the scriptwriter is a bit suspect, but the acting talent should be solid.
  20. JK!!!! I'm always amazed at how he can just belt out clean notes without any prep. I'm sure he must train his vocals along with other aspects of his performances, and yet his impromptu singing is also always so clean and on key.
  21. Happy Year of the Rabbit! 2023 is going to be a better year!

    (please...)

      Happy New Year....

  22. I was assuming the angle was weird because their lips were barely touching, if actually touching at all. And, you're right, daily dramas are not exactly the hotbeds of passion, though sometimes the weekend dramas will surprise me with how much they show. American tv shows are much more frank than again it depends on their time of broadcast and intended audience as well.
  23. This was a lovely, tender scene, even if the kiss wasn't all that. Still, give that BSH is a married man with a young family, it's probably appropriate for them to not go at it all hot and heavy. I think this may be as good as it gets where they are barely touching lips, if that. KJ: I was really sad last night. This woman isn’t calling me, but rather running off to the office by herself again. I wish she would call me when anything happens. Please, she could take care of it together with me. YY: Because I felt sorry, and because Kyung Jun-shi was probably tired. That’s why I did it. (meaning she felt bad about making a mistake and all, so went to take care of the problem by herself) KJ: Young Yi-shi YY: Yes, Kyung Jun-shi? KJ: There is nothing further about Young Yi-shi that I’m curious about. Getting to slowly know each other, let’s stop doing that. Let’s date officially. If we’re dating, then we can hold hands like now, look at the same things, and go forward together, isn’t that right? I don’t think I can continue to just watch Young Yi-shi having a hard time by yourself. Let’s go together.
  24. That would be sweet. I think JH really wants her father to be happy. I wanted to slap NS when he was trying to manipulate JH into trying to get her parents back together. Omg, they've been separated for ages! And, they divorced because her mom was cheating on her dad, and then went and married another man. And, NS has the nerve to keep telling her that what she really must want is for her parents to be together again. He's totally treating JH like a child. He so does not respect her! He just wants her money and eventually the company.
