  1. That is so sad. It's HH who should be paying the price for being a terrible human, not SJ who has mostly tried to live right and be caring of others.
  2. The story is heating up about this couple in the drama, and it's still the most interesting of the lovelines. Plus, I have sympathy for all of the main characters involved, except for NS the snake. I have to trust that MY now that he's accepted how he feels about SR will go all out to figure out what is going on so that he and SR can be together. Once NS is resolved, there really isn't any reason why MY and SR can't be together happily.
  3. I really don't remember the female lead other than a supporting role in Hospital Playlist, so not sure what to expect. I think NGM likes to work? Perhaps because he went through that brief dry period when the PDs wouldn't hire him because he was being a bit full of himself, he seems to really like to work for the most part. Anyway, he does pick interesting projects, whether I'm into them or not, so I'm curious about this one as well.
  4. Translation of the preview YY: The chairman had said this. That in large offices, there is a wave. He said not to become a grain of sand that gets carried along by the wave, but to be a rock. Grandfather: Baby chick is innocent. Everyone knows that. The issue is who could have done such a thing. I’m looking for evidence. Man: All of a sudden, I remember that in the product development team, there is an Assistant Team Leader Kim. However, it turns out that person is a university classmate of Team Leader Kim Hae Mi. SJ: If I want to find out who had been assigned here 6 years ago who should I ask? SJ: I’m now trying to discover the truth of what happened. Even though it’s late, at least to find it now. Grandfather is on the case. It's his company. Even if it's to protect his company from malevolent forces, he'll set things right. Can't believe his son is willing to tolerate harm to the company if it means that his son won't marry where he doesn't want him to. How is that a chaebol thing? Doesn't the company usually come first? I mean, it's not even as if the father has KJ lined up to marry a chaebol heiress or anything like that. It's just that his wife doesn't like YY, and he doesn't think that YY's background is good enough for his son's future. Obviously the fact that he married a low class witch like HH doesn't seem to have occurred to him at all. It's been mentioned a number of times that HH doesn't come from wealth herself despite giving herself airs. Her wealth comes through her husband. Now it makes me think that she lied about her background, and her husband just accepted it and married her. In a lot of the daily/weekend dramas the evil SLs seem to feature prominently in the drama and have a majority of the screen time. I guess that's because the Leads themselves have to be good upstanding people who are not scheming and so don't move the plot along much? I understand that the actors who become successful doing those kinds of roles tend to keep getting offers to play those kinds of roles though and find themselves becoming pigeon-holed. Oh well. At least it's work?
  5. HM's mother is so focused on having HM's father tell off his family and getting their promise that YY won't date KJ. All she can think to do herself is to spend money as furiously as she can in order to blunt her anger and outrage. LOL It will take something like HM's father being in trouble at work, and possibly losing their way of life for her to come to her senses. Yes, totally. I stopped feeling sorry for him a long time ago, namely when he asked KJ to reconsider dating his daughter when he knew full well that KJ had no feelings towards HM and that HM was obsessed with KJ rather than loving him. He chose his path and helped create it. Whoa. In that clip, both HH and KJ's father know that HM did something wrong, but because she did it in order to break up KJ and YY, they're going to overlook it and possibly cover it up for her. It makes me think that they know that HM turned over YY's plans to the competition? If so, they really need to step down from their positions since they are willing to harm the company and tolerate employees who harm the company for their own petty desires. KJ's father is a fool, and HM and HH are both petty tyrant wannabes. Also, Ms. Im is wondering who she can turn over the recording of HM to. I hope she doesn't turn it over to HH as their head boss since that will ensure the recording is "lost".
  6. I love it that Suga is getting recognition and props from the NBA. First, there was his attendance of the GS Warriors game in Tokyo, then he went to LA and watched the Lakers play the Mavericks. It was a hard fought, double overtime game that the Mavs ultimately won, but Suga seemed to be enjoying himself. Because Suga was in attendance, the Laker Girls performed to a remix of 'Butter' and the arena also played 'Mic Drop which' had some of the fans jumping up to dance. Very cool. His bright elfish smile just says it all!
  7. Translation of the preview HH: Was this it? The way you were going to bring Lee Young Yi down? KJ Father: What happened? Were the plans given to the competition or what? HH: I think that’s right. Though I guess we have to pull the people involved (in the project) and talk to them. Man talking to KJ: This could really spell trouble for the company. Are you sure you can handle it? Man sitting on review committee: Lee Young Yi-shi? Have you ever met the person from the competitive firm? Hopefully, this bit of story will resolve this week. It seems silly for it to me a longer lasting element to this drama. Regardless, it will be good when HM is finally exposed for the petty, lying person who is willing to harm the company for her personal ambitions. Of course, that is what makes her exactly like HH, so who knows if HH will give HM a promotion instead? Because after all, it's not either of their companies, and HH is only interested if SJ can take over the company instead of KJ. Though both HJ and HH are evil enough that they want to destroy what they can't have.
  8. Darn. Poor SJ. Hopefully, TJ will refuse to give him the divorce, and at least, recover her feelings for SJ, even if not all of her memories come back. To be fair, of course, JH is going to want to believe her boyfriend who she thinks loves her so much. Unfortunately, she'll get a bad wake up call to realize that NS cares more for her wealth than for her self. Just ugh. I don't like this story line anyway. I'm not sure that SJ's mom not feeling fondness for JW is a sign that he's not SJ's son since I do think that she believes JW is SJ's son. However, the mother is definitely more about SJ and his ability to support the family. Also, if JW isn't SJ's son, it makes me wonder who his real father might be, though given that the parental rights seem to have been signed away by the birth mother and JW was put in the registry as the cousin's son, it may not matter much except to JW who seems to want to continue to be the cousin and his wife's son.
  9. Preview translation TJ Grandmother: I’ve had a fetal dream. Sang Jun’s aunt is not pregnant, is she? TJ: Did you come to apologize for having gone crazy? SJ: I have something to give you. TJ: You being like this, does it have something to do with that woman? Manager: Are you sure that the DNA test was done properly? YS: If you mess with my son, then I’ll go screaming about it at the broadcast station. MY: I have a confession to make. SR: CEO MY: Will you formally date me? Awww. MY is asking SR out formally. I haven't watched the episode, but it would be nice if MY asked SR out even though he knew about NS and SR. Also, is SJ letting TJ go, or is he giving her some space while he works out his life? It seems that he's going to give her something then go. From TJ's reaction, it makes me wonder if SJ is returning TJ's stuff back to her? Still don't like the cousin, and I find him highly suspicious still.
  10. I'm actually glad that SR and NS' past is coming out in the open. They have to clear that hurdle before MY and SR can actually think about being a couple. That sucks. It also means that SJ will pretty much have to deal with discovering he has a son thing alone for the time being. @Nohamahmoud2002, I don't like the amnesia thing either. There is no reason for SJ to not trust YS. No one has ever told SJ about anything, so as far as he's concerned, YS is his uncle-like cousin who has always been a trusted member of the family. SJ doesn't even know what SM knows about how that scam artist mentioned that YS had known about him already and not told the family. At least the marriage is registered! I don't think SJ will "divorce" TJ himself, though he may give TJ the option of getting a divorce as well as giving her some space.
  11. Actually, I think you're right that it's the person who gave him his eyes. I thought of that, too, later when I was thinking about it. No way would KJ have spoken about HM that way. Actually, I feel sorriest for CY's mother who raised 2 sons, put them both through university and set them up for success, and she got such selfish DILs. As you say, love must be blind.
  12. Preview translation KJ: There is a person who I couldn’t and shouldn’t forget. YY: If you mean a life's savior, then I have one, too. The chairman. KJ Father: Why are you at the office? Grandfather: Bring the scoring evaluations of the competition. KJ Father: It seems that we may not be able to kick Young Yi out any longer. Why are you so calm about it? Have you given up? HH: I have never given up. I’m just waiting for Team Leader Kim to drag her down. I wonder if KJ is referring to HM as his savior? Both he and HM have referred to HM having saved KJ in the past. HH waiting for HM to ruin YY is such a futile thing. I guess HM has that plan where she gave YY's ideas to her friend at a competitor's or something, but no way the chairman would believe that YY could do that.
  13. I think it'll be mostly fine, though I suspect that V will drive Seo Jin at least a little crazy. V definitely has a different way of thinking about things and even has unique ways of getting things done. V's unique ways will probably have Seo Jin shaking his head. However, V is also so adorable and is so puppyish in wanting to get along with everyone he meets, that Seo Jin will probably also find himself smiling despite himself. Anyway, that's my prediction!
  14. True that it's good to keep RL and drama separate. Also true that K-drama writers openly admit to writing material in order to shock the audience since that is the way to keep the audience hooked and watching. Yes, I think it can play out pretty well in dramas, but have to admit that I'm still not a total fan. At least in HJ's case, they were both consenting adults of sound mind, so it's fine. When a plot line introduces the idea of force to the relationship or to the sex is when I totally switch off.
  15. @Zoaze, only logging on now, but here is a translation of the ep 74 preview. HM Mother: Why is Mirinae’s mother and Kyung Jun…? HM Mother: So that sly nasty fox of a girl has grabbed on to Kyung Jun?! HM Mother: You sly nasty fox of a girl! (screams an epithet) DS Mother: Sister-in-law, are you crazy?! Why are you hitting my daughter-in-law?! Why?! EH: The reason I was worried about the two of you dating. Already these things are happening, it will probably get worse in the future. I will tell you again. I can’t bear to watch Young Yi going through more hard times. KJ: I’m going to protect her. Wow, I guess there will be fireworks at the next episode. It seems that it's memorial rites for DJ, and HM's mother is going to go full on ballistic. I'm actually just happy that everyone will know now that YY and KJ are together. Plus, HM's mother seems to be mostly responsible for her daughter's craziness and narcissism anyway, plus even HM's father seems to have caved to his daughter's madness in the weird hope that if HM gets what she wants, she'll return to sanity.
  16. I have to admit that I have mixed feelings about this pairing. It's not the age gap, but rather the family interconnections. In a culture where people are referred to by their relationship rather than by their given names, I'm not even sure how that would work out since GW is both SJ's little brother-in-law as well as his maternal uncle-in-law. TJ who is GW's older sister now would have GW as her uncle-in-law. etc, etc... Of course, it's more important that people be happy. However, it just doesn't feel realistic, and in RL, I think they would probably divorce at some point even if they were to get married. I totally agree. The pre years are just too painful.
  17. I think that it will eventually be a positive thing, and that YY will start to think that it's her husband's way of trying to protect her even after he was gone, to ensure that YY is with a good man who will love her and MRN. However, it will take awhile to get there since the MIL is definitely going to have all sorts of fits about it.
  18. Poor SJ. At least he knows what his family has been trying to hide from him. Also, poor JH. The truth needs to be out. As for SR, too many people know that SR and NS used to be a couple. I mean, they were on the verge of getting married. I think that SR needs to tell MY at least rather than having him find out otherwise.
  19. Thanks for the callout @mademoiselle! I'll definitely have to watch this one. Can't wait to see V doing more variety!
  20. Preview translation KJ Father: At least, her credentials should be reasonable. Even if dirt goes in my eyes, that can never happen. (me: Dirt going in his eyes means even if he were to die and be buried) Grandfather: Don’t make an enemy of your child. After Kyung Jun left, you and I were left here to talk like this for over ten years. HH: You aren’t by any chance trying to look into the accident that night without me knowing about it, are you? SJ: I have to know. What mom is hiding about that night from me.
  21. @abs-oluteM, yes, you're right about the beach. Translation of that scene. Cute. K: Young Yi-shi, you feel good, right? YY: Yes. Well… KJ: Why? Your face looks as you have some worries? YY: It’s just that Team Leader is suddenly complimenting me, so that seems strange… KJ: And it makes you feel worried? (YY nods) KJ: I was also a little surprised. Right now, all we can hope for is that she continues to be able to distinguish professional from personal. YY: I guess so. KJ: Oh, Young Yi-shi. let’s have the person who gets the higher score at the next evaluation get a wish. YY: It seems that you have a wish? KJ: Of course I do! There are so many things I want to do with you, Young Yi-shi. YY: Hmm, it will be a little harder this time. You just heard it right now. That Team Leader and the senior members of the team think that my creativity is a little better than yours. KJ: There is also a saying that it’s not all over until it’s over. YY: Ohhh. It seems that you’re confident you can be #1. Go ahead and tell me your wish. KJ: I want to go see the sea. With you, Young Yi-shi. YY: The sea? KJ: Holding hands, walking alone the beach, eating delicious seafood, and taking lots of pictures of Young Yi-shi. I’m going to take many, many pictures and keep them all! YY: (laughing) What are you saying. YY: However, going to the sea in winter is probably going to be cold. KJ: I’ve never been to the sea. Because I wanted to go see it when I was the happiest having found the person I love so that we can go together, I’ve been saving this chance. Also, if I’m going with Young Yi-shi, even if I were hit by a snowstorm, it doesn’t matter. However, since Young Yi-shi shouldn’t be cold, I’ll prepare well. YY: Okay. Let’s go together to the sea. KJ: (kissing her forehead) That’s a promise! YY: Kyung Jun-shi KJ: That was a seal (to the promise).
  22. I thought he was amazing in Ugly Alert! I think that was his first project post-military service. I liked it so much that despite some of the minor characters being annoying (ehem...his baby sister), I still watched it all the way through. Not to mention, that's the drama where I decided that I really liked Kang So Ra as well. Btw, I read somewhere later that he thought his character should have died in that drama. I'm glad that they didn't go that route. And, I agree that he does do the crying and heartbreak scenes really well.
  23. I'm not sure if Kocowa does their own subs versus using the stations' subs. I know that Viki and Netflix actually have their own subbers as well. Anyway, feeling badly for SJ with TJ not being in love with him any more. I don't think I realized that TJ really did have to fall back in love with SJ versus SJ who had always loved TJ.
  24. Actually, I watch it with my mother some weekends, and yesterday, they showed a retrospective about MY/SR and GW/HJ relationships instead of an episode. Since the versions that are shown are subtitled, I think it may probably because they haven't even finished subtitling the more recent episodes yet. I've also heard that the production schedule has gotten tight. I'm glad that SJ will request a DNA test. There were scenes talking about DNA tests before which was one of the reasons JH was convinced SJ was his birth father, but I'm still wondering if it's a false narrative or not, mostly because I don't really trust the cousin. However, if SJ really is the father of JH, then I think the two of them will have to forge a new relationship and then also with TJ. Neither SJ or TJ are the kind of people to run away from their responsibilities. And, it was wrong of SJ's mother to keep it from him earlier, though it definitely would have changed SJ's life in a lot of ways. Hmm, so perhaps SJ would not be with TJ now if he had known he had a son earlier? Anyway, guess wait to see where the story takes us. There are still a lot of episodes left.
