Plot

Mok Sol-Hee (Kim So-Hyun) has a special ability that allows her to distinguish whether people are lying or not. She hates her ability and views it as a curse. Because of her special ability, she is unable to trust anyone. Mok Sol-Hee gets involved with a murder suspect (Minhyun) who insists he is innocent, but nobody believes him.

Kim So Hyun Confirmed To Star In New Drama Hwang Minhyun Is In Talks For

It’s official: Kim So Hyun is starring in the upcoming drama “Useless Lies” (literal translation)!

 

On November 11, Kim So Hyun’s agency IEUM Hashtag announced, “Kim So Hyun has been cast as Mok Sol Hee in the new drama ‘Useless Lies.'”

 

“Useless Lies” is a mystery romance drama about a woman who can hear lies and a murder suspect whom no one believes is innocent. Kim So Hyun will be starring as Mok Sol Hee, whose supernatural ability to hear lies has made her lose faith in other people. Mok Sol Hee considers her special power a curse, but she attempts to use it for good by becoming a “liar hunter” who searches for the truth.

 

Back in September, former NU’EST member Hwang Minhyun’s agency PLEDIS Entertainment confirmed that the idol-turned-actor had been offered the male lead and was in talks to star in the drama.

Hwang Minhyun Confirmed For Kim So Hyun’s New Mystery Romance Drama

 

It’s official: Hwang Minhyun will be joining Kim So Hyun in “Useless Lies” (literal translation)!

 

On November 28, PLEDIS Entertainment officially announced, “Hwang Minhyun will be appearing in the new drama ‘Useless Lies’ in the role of Kim Do Ha.”

 

“Useless Lies” is a mystery romance drama about a woman who can hear lies and a murder suspect whom no one believes is innocent. Kim So Hyun was previously confirmed to be starring as Mok Sol Hee, whose supernatural ability to hear lies has made her lose faith in other people.

 

Hwang Minhyun will be starring in the drama as the mysterious male lead Kim Do Ha, the most successful music producer and songwriter in all of Korea. After being framed as a murder suspect in the past, Kim Do Ha now goes about his life hiding himself from the world. But after falling in love with Mok Sol Hee, who seems to have the ability to see through everything, he begins to want to venture out in the world again.

 

“Useless Lies” is currently scheduled to premiere in 2023.
