TBH, this show is not like a must watch if you ask me @mademoiselle @SilverMoonTea. There are some twist and turns that caught me by surprise but would that be enough for me to recommend this wholeheartedly? Not really . I have very different reasons for sticking on plus I have come too far to give up now.

I am confused. Woo Jae didn't kill Nari for sure. But did he kill Cha Eun Sae? Now I am no longer sure. I believe that Det Kim's mentor is the one that killed JW's father, and so given the knife, I am guessing he killed Eun Sae too. But did he kill BaReum?

I just finished watching the latest episode and the writer had too much in her sleeves lols. I just recommending this to my real life friend, let her suffer with me. She said YWJ is stunning, so I just let it be 😅 Tbh, it's not too bad because somehow I'm still here and up to date 😂

@abs-oluteM I am confused myself. LOL.

Spoiler

I believe it's certain that Woo Jae killed Lee Na Ri via the car accident. However, suddenly, it's up in the air whether he killed Cha Eun Sae and Jung Won's father. So, did Jung Won only imagined Woo Jae as the culprit in the video footage left by Yoon Young? LOL. You're right. It's shaping to be that the secretary/Tae Heon's mentor is the real culprit. I think Woo Jae killed Lee Ba Reun, but it could be the secretary. Maybe he was there because Woo Jae's father sent him to retrieve Lee Na Ri's remains before the detectives find them.

I haven't seen ep 14 yet. Let's see where the writer wants to take the story next. LOL.

@abs-oluteM I agree this show is not a much watch and would not necessarily recommend it. I just don't want to watch it alone. LOL. I started it for JSJ and the mystery. Like @SilverMoonTea, I don't think it's bad which is why I'm still here as well. Each week, I'm not certain if anyone will be present here. Honestly, I'm shocked you ladies are still here. I do think the remaining episodes are better. I like seeing the sinister side of JSJ as Woo Jae. He pulls it off well. I'm glad I got to know who is YWJ.

@peperomia I'm here in spirit and supporting you all to finish for my sake. HAHAHA!

Lovely Runner is kind of funny, so I might continue. Haha I have some sort of attachment to YWJ maybe... and it's investigation. And I already too far by now lols...

I watched episode 14. Some developments were...

Spoiler
  1. It’s certain Woo Jae killed Lee Na Ri.
  2.  Secretary killed Cha Eun Sae. It was ordered by Woo Jae’s father because she knew Woo Jae killed Lee Na Ri.
  3.  Secretary killed Lee Ba Reun. It’s unclear why the secretary was there.
  4.  Secretary killed Jung Won’s father. It was also ordered by Woo Jae’s father because Jung Won’s father was investigating his corruptions in Mueon and also witnessed Woo Jae fatally hit Lee Na Ri.
  5. I had thought that the fire was intentionally set by Woo Jae’s and Mo Hyung Taek. It seems to be true that they wanted to wipe out the factory so that they could build the resort over the land. Still wondering if Yoon Young was paid to do it.
  6. Tae Heon figured out the knife belongs to his mentor (the secretary). He had seen it before. Tae Heon went to confront his mentor and was stabbed. Episode ends. Based on the preview, Tae Heon is okay! Looks like we'll also find out why his partner was killed.

I'm kind of glad the finale is next week. LOL.

LOL. I'm totally okay with you supporting us in spirit here! Not watching Lovely Runner, but I'm in the process of finishing up Queen of Tears. It took a few episodes for me to get into it, but OMG, I love the couple's story so much. That's all I will say here.

I took a liking to YWJ too. Will definitely check out his next drama.

Ya come with us to watch Lovely Runner. I got brainwashed by @mademoiselle and joined her there 🤣 At first I thought the story is simple and the time slip trope has been used many times before. But there is always some new emotion / storyline unfolded on each time slip and that's make it kinda special. I was at first not attracted to the oppas, but I now think eh okay not too bad, I can see why madem fell in love 😂

Pssst in my opinion QoT is a bit overrated 😆

HAHAHA! It is justifiable overrated. Compared to you-know-which-drama(s), it is a romance with a storyline, a great cast with very solid acting, OTP match well visually, has chemie and can act. The cinematography and OST are also good.

Spoiler

KTL is truly the overrated one

Don't tell your sis.

@mademoiselle @SilverMoonTea About the other dramas...

Spoiler

QoT

Call me crazy, but I wasn't wow'd by the writer's previous works so I wasn't expecting that I would feel for QoT this much. I thought the couple's story was unique. Already husband and wife but had lost their way from each other. (And, due to loss of a baby does happen in real life.) Their journey to find their love again was beautiful, yet heartbreaking because of the tragic undertones. I thought Hae In's illness and Hyun Woo's fight for her in this were a lovely portrayal of the vow "in sickness and in health". I cried so much. KSH and KJW did great in this!

I also really enjoyed watching the in-laws grow so close with each other. Well done here!

LR

I've read LR receiving amazing reviews and ratings so I understand why you ladies are recommending it. I will add this to my list, but I'm not sure when I would be able to start this. I've been meaning to get to Blood Free and plan to start this weekend.

@abs-oluteM Did you watch this week's episodes? They're not a must, but do let me know what you think of the finale next week!

Spoiler

QoT

I totally know what you mean about the writer. Out of her works, I only liked My Love From the Star and this one. MLFTS was unique at the time because it's an alien falling for a human. It's also my first drama of hers. But as you watched too many of the writers' works, you also learnt of their writing styles. This one, agreed with you. It's unique the way the story started off with them married and not on good terms. And yes, KSH and KJW are significant to the success of the show. So is the rest of the casts.

LR

Hopefully you'd start this soon! It would be nice to do all the fangirling together. Hahaha! Also, if you like Baek Hyun Woo, you will sure to love Ryu Sun Jae here.

Blood Free

This one is actually not as great as I had hoped. In last week's episodes, both Tea and I concluded them as "something happened, but also nothing happened." 😅 On contrary, LR's last week's episode (especially 8) was the best.

Spoiler

Can you tell I'm selling LR hard-er?

Look forward to the finale week of this drama. 😆

QoT

Yes! The rest of the cast did a wonderful job as well. Seems like they all got close with each other in real life too. I'm really glad you and abs-oluteM recommended this to me. I liked it so much that I may re-watch it again at some point but forward some parts. LOL. Since I've finished now, I plan to check out thoughts on the QoT thread.

LR

LOL. Okay, I will try to start this! The lead actress and and actor will be new to me which should be refreshing.

BF

I started this last night. I'm at ep 5. A bit slow burn but it's interesting so far and the quality of the writing is there. But, based on what you're saying, it seems to hit a slump right before the finale. I might finish in time to catch the end with you ladies in the BF thread.

@mademoiselle Yes! See you and @SilverMoonTea next week for this drama!:eeeee::laugh:

Just watched episode 15. Honestly, it wasn’t exciting, but I guess the developments were necessary to reach the end:

Spoiler
  1. Of course, Tae Heon survived the stabbing by the secretary.
  2. Secretary initially fled and went on the run, but he was eventually arrested. During the interrogation, he admitted to the killings, including Lee Na Ri. However, the latter was only part of a deal with Woo Jae’s father.
  3. So, Mo Hyung Taek and Woo Jae’s father don’t trust each other. They’re always looking for each other’s weaknesses to use them as bargaining chips. Because Mo Hyung Taek was worried about his situation in all this, he asked Jung Won to meet him. He told her about his meeting with her father the day before his death. Because of the dirt that Jung Won’s father had dug up about the corruption, he knew he would likely die because of the evidence so he hid it. Mo Hyung Taek told Jung Won that it was up to her find it. When she accessed it, it was her father’s video recording of Woo Jae fatally hitting Lee Na Ri with the car.
  4. Woo Jae’s father company received an award and Woo Jae was supposed to give an acceptance speech in front of the media. Instead, he used this opportunity to admit killing Lee Na Ri and that his father covered it up. Seemed like Woo Jae didn’t want to turn into a monster like his father. Also, he didn’t want to hurt Jung Won and his child anymore. The episode ends with Tae Heon arresting him.
  5. Based on the preview, it looks like Woo Jae’s father is going to use Woo Jae’s mental instability and drug use against him.

Last episode tomorrow...finally!

@peperomia I am all caught up but this show took way too long to get to where it is. I believe the plot only needed 12 episodes at most cause it was painfully slow to see them find things out . Perhaps that's why they call this show Nothing Uncovered? Cause there are just layers and layers of lies covering the truth?

Anyway, I am glad that Woo Jae finally decided to do the right thing. This is the only way he would set himself free from his own guilt and his father's expectations. He's arc has been the most interesting in this show. Please let them catch his old man tonight. I don't want to see him go free. As to the romance between the leads, I honestly don't care. :zzzz:

@abs-oluteM Just watched the finale. Totally agree that the story didn't need to be this long! Definitely "Nothing Uncovered" suits the title. LOL. Mystery-wise, I was disappointed.

Spoiler

It focused mainly on Lee Na Ri and the cover-up. It could’ve done a better job of bringing to light Woo Jae’s father’s role in the deaths of Jung Won’s father, Cha Eun Sae and Lee Da Reun. Also, it could’ve revealed Woo Jae’s father’s role in the chemical plant fire and how it tied into the development of his resort. The victims, including the housekeeper’s husband who was the scapegoat for the fire, didn’t get their justice. I’m really upset that Woo Jae’s father wasn’t found guilty and it barely touched upon Mo Hyung Taek’s punishment. The revelation of their crimes was long-winded and weak.

About Woo Jae, I’m not certain how I feel about his final arc yet. I thought it was exciting when we were misled that he was the killer. However, from the flashbacks, he did seem like a good kid so his road to redemption does make sense in the end. It was good to see him finally make the right choices and pay for his crimes. (His father should be to jail with him too!)

Like you, I couldn’t connect with Jung Won and Tae Heon’s romance either, but I do prefer a happy ending. So, after 3 years, I’m glad they got it. (I must say though, it was awkward seeing Tae Heon cry several times over their relationship. LOL.)

No doubt that Jung Won’s character could’ve been written better, but I do respect her for keeping her baby. Daughter is adorable and I commend her for keeping Woo Jae in her daughter’s life. If I were her, I’m not sure that I could do it.

It feels good to check this one off now. I hope they'll be a good crime/mystery drama out soon. This and other recent ones have been such let downs.

@peperomia Just glad this is over. A bit of a waste for two of my VIP oppas over a plot that kept going round and round.

Spoiler

Unfortunately there was zero chemistry between TaeHyeon and Jung Won . But I guess for his sake I was okay they had a happy ending.

As to WooJae , they should have kept him as the killer. It was sad that he was just a victim too - manipulated by his own father.

I do like this scene. Jang Seung Jo being a dad IRL would be perfect in a role where his a dad too. Hahah.

@abs-oluteM Thanks for sticking through this one with me...and your 2 VIP oppas. LOL. Hope they pick a better project next time. But yes, I really liked JSJ's father/daughter scene too - very natural and your note about him being a dad in real life makes sense why.
