  1. I can't say this enough, but Park Hyung Sik is a real natural when it comes to comedy. He's perfected the art of being conceited and cocky, but you can never dislike him. And although I sometimes feel PSH tends to have very similar facial expressions in some of her roles, somehow it works to her advantage here. I loved that in eps 3 there's growth in their relationship that has progressed from "former classmates" to friends. I don't know how the writer/ PD does it , but here I am cracking up over the funny lighthearted moments, and then it gets quite emotional the next minute. While I think I relate more to her struggles, Jeong Woo's troubles and predicament are worse. If the trial doesn't go his way, he's really never gonna be able to practise again and may go to jail. It doesn't help that he has a mother who has such high expectations of him & who doesn't seem to be genuinely concerned about him. In her case, even though she was ill treated at her previous workplace, it's not a career-ending situation. Plus she has a crazy but supportive family ( though unemployed brother needs to get a smack for not doing anything). And oh....Yoon Park doing origami with blankets!!! .. we need more of his screen time please. And I am looking forward to his interaction with subscriber #6 Pre-released - This guy can be so full of himself
  2. I caught the first 2 episodes ...wasn't bad. In fact I enjoyed it because their interactions felt pretty realistic. Like how there's instant attraction but yet there's this awkwardness. Their conversations are very cute where she's shy, and he's quietly sweet. They are trying to read each other. It doesn't follow the usual bickering tropes or opposites attract, that sort of thing. Which makes it kind of different from most romances of late. The leads meet each other within the first 5 minutes of eps 1, and the show already started to develop the love line quite a bit especially since this is a 36- episode show. So I am guessing that we will see them coming together quickly but this will be followed by angsty bits in the middle. He's a bit of mystery and has some sort emotional baggage that has been hinted at. Hahahaha I love this scene...how introverts start off in a relationship
  3. Me too. I was wondering if Pasin was that guy who stood by Jin Man. Pasin was also the one who saved Jin An when she was younger right? I wish tell you but it will spoil the fun. So far it has been very good for me....so much so I wish it would be a longer series.
  4. Yes , after episode 6, I am convinced too that all is possible. I am glad that we had a whole episode dedicated to Jin Man - at least we know now what he used to do and why he ended up selling guns. We can also understand MinHye's loyalty to him at the risk of losing her own life since he first saved her. I will stand next to you.
  5. @mademoiselle @ssteph I will update the IU/ PBG drama thread afterwards . What title should I use ? ....NF seems unsure - working title? aahahah.. ---------------------- I finally got round to starting Big Bet , and that's a pretty good show though it took forever for Son Sukku to appear because of the role and the way the story is set.
  6. This seems to be linked to an organisation called Babylon - he was a mercenary / hired killer. I just completed eps 5 and about to go into eps 6. I refuse to believe Jin Man is dead. He killed himself? That doesn't seem characteristic for someone like him. He clearly knew it was not JiAn's voice asking for help. That body was it even his or did he just pretend to be dead? Got to be a twist, no?
  7. Hahahah of course I will watch this. I like MSM so much in Queen's Umbrella ...let's see if he continues to charm me here. Yes, contract marriage is always a plus point...though here he's trying to break her contract marriage to his bro
  8. So Jin Man was the team leader ( NIS, army? )...the other guy seems to think Jin Man doesn't like him.
  9. @JenL I’m also watching Doc Slump. Was just telling @mademoiselle on the thread that it was a good premiere. I wasn’t sure what to expect with the pairing but so far so good. Malaysian weather is gonna be what we often call as the “CNY weather” which means super hot . Stay hydrated.
  10. I came here because I was wondering if any of you planned to open JaeWook's new drama thread? Looks good ...I will watch it.
  11. I was in tears when she told her mother about her depression. Especially the part where she asked if she can't be sick. While these days, people are a lot more open to talking and accepting mental health issues, I can see why HaNeul would find it hard to be diagnosed with depression. The good thing was that she recognised that and took action. Also I am so glad she kicked that awful professor, quit and decided to prioritise her health. I can also understand her mother's initial denial of her situation but I would have been very upset if mum continues to gaslight her for it. So I was glad that mum realised it quickly and send her that message at the end. What I like very much from these premiere episodes was that the pace is very good - the leads are already communicating quite openly. Also I wasn't sure what to expect of the chemistry between PHS and PSH but I found their competitive bickering hilarious (it hit the right spots) and they have chemistry. Yoon Park's character was also very funny. Agreed that he will be the one that helps JW and HN, and of course there will be a side romance with HN's bestie.
  12. @NiteWalker the male audience / judges even more excited than the female ones
  13. @mademoiselle @peperomia I just started this . Quite funny so far . Park Hyung Sik is always good with comedy . Will comment more once I finish eps 2 .
  14. I caught both episodes on my flight . I really somehow hope he’s still alive . He’s been preparing her for a time like this & it was painful when she thought she felt like she had no freedom when all he wanted was to protect her. But she’s going to know that now . And Bae Jong Min …urghh I had this bad feeling from the start.
  15. At this point yes...only because most of the oppas I love don't have any shows on. I just completed a number of shows before this - Death's Game ( recommended), My Demon, Welcome to Samdalri. There are some new shows but nothing that tickles my fancy. I plan to watch Dr Slump and plan to reserve some time for Amidst the Snowstorm ( c drama) . Am assuming you're gonna watch Dr Slump too?
  16. I know how you feel ..it's been awhile since I have enjoyed a romance by JCW . Actually Love Struck was not bad...though there were lots of frustrating bits. I am just happy with how they wrapped up this entire show. I was hoping for a lil wedding for YP and SD , but I am glad too that the focus was on going after your dreams. After all everyone who had returned back to Jeju had suffered some form of failure , so it was important that everyone got a second chance at success . Though for me I don't see returning to Jeju as a second best option, since it is a beautiful place and you can always have a wonderful life there. But perhaps from a domestic audience perspective, making it in Seoul was some sort of measure of that you've made it . Just wondered if @ktcjdrama @Dhakra and @40somethingahjumma finished this one.
  17. @SilverMoonTea Your past love and current love ( though not for long ) in the same frame. Na In Woo is so tall that he makes Bae In Hyuk looks so small
  18. It was a very lovely ending .... Man, look at JCW's face...I am glad she ran since I definitely would
  19. I ended up really enjoying this one. Kind of late to the party but I just discovered the amazing talent that is Austin Butler. I saw him on Elvis and he was just superb- he wasn't just impersonating Elvis, he was Elvis. That was how good he was. He won a Golden Globe and the Baftas, and nominated for an Oscar. Going through a lot of his interviews , the way he prepares for all his roles is pure dedication. His work ethic according to Tom Hanks who worked with him twice is second to none. I highly recommend this Baz Luhrmann biopic of Elvis
  20. @mademoiselle Love this show loads and very glad you got me to watch this. If I were to think about it, there's nothing out of the ordinary about the story line nor is it one of those mind boggling shows. In fact because it is so simple and straightforward, that anyone could have written this. But yet it is one of those shows that had me in tears so very often and kept me invested. No doubt we had a great cast, but the magic for me is really in the heartfelt conversations. In fact, I chose to watch this first today over My Demon simply because this show always makes me happy. While with MD, the leads carried the show , here it is not just the main pairing that I liked. I found myself interested in the side characters and side romances, and it felt like these were characters had some depth/ layers and development YP's dad letting go of his grudge towards omma was so moving. Then seeing the entire village or town come together to support and protect Sam Dal warmed my heart. It's come full circle for Sam Dal having come back as a wounded puppy being so worried about the gossip, to truly realised how much she is loved. 2 new romances budding there and a reunion for big sis with her ex ( they are so adorably funny!) . I am glad that they are even paying tribute to the hanyeo's work by possibly having the youngest sister do this. What I want for the finale is simple - an intimate wedding for our leads and Yong Pil go to Switzerland to fulfil his dreams. SD can always go with him. --------------------------- I believe she is going to make an appearance in support of the writer who wrote Hi Bye Mama
  21. So I am just checking spoilers after finishing Eps15... am I getting this correctly? Did she make a deal to have him return? This was what happened... And as I had expected, father made the deal to save her...
  22. Really good. I was on the edge of my seat especially in the 2nd half of episode 2 when JiAn was being hunted & surrounded by those drones. But yet just moments ago I was in tears for this poor girl who hid herself in the morgue hugging her mother's dead body...my goodness. How does one even get through such trauma? I do love that unspoken love and trust between uncle and niece , so it really pains me that the story already starts off with him being dead. JiAn will have to find out the truth about his death. My hope is that her friend is not some sort of red flag or sheep in wolf's clothing.
  23. This really does seem like a Feb drama @Tofu? In time for New Year?
