Nope not the tournaments but I watch a lot of matches during the Olympics lol. I'm just an avid sports watcher in general. So whenever I hear of a new variety show sports-related I will give it a go!

@abs-oluteM He had fever, cough and loss of sense of smell/taste on thursday when he was first tested. Now almost back to normal. Till now we have no idea where he caught the virus. Cos no one who is his close contact have any symptoms or have tested positive. Guess he is just suay haiz...

Thanks for asking! Yes he’s recovering well and was moved to one on Saturday. Just for my own peace of mind I did 2 ART tests on separate days and both turned out negative. But so far received no quarantine orders😅 Only his household members have got to self-quarantine.

For now I’m praying he won’t have any long-lasting adverse health effects...

 Another bad news is our primary schools may be extending home-based learning 

I really dislike having to teach young kids on Zoom it’s tough😩 And I miss face to face interaction with my class too...

@mademoiselle I actually keep having trouble remembering Hong Cheon Gi’s english title too cos it’s not related to the korean title at all since it’s titled after the main character😅 

Same problem with all the abbreviated names. Sometimes I just prefer to type them out in full, unless there’s a character limit like on birdapp haha.

Saturday does seem to fly by... it’s the only day of the week I feel truly relaxed. Somehow monday blues seem to start on sunday, if that makes sense

Fortunately he is already fully vaccinated so his symptoms are not so bad. But it’s still worrying when we got the test results back so he keeps updating me his condition now. Still waiting for him to be transferred to a quarantine facility as he lives with his elderly parents.

I am also taking the rapid test everyday just in case.

I’m behind on dramas too... Have not finished Ep 8 of LOTRS. Will try and find time this weekend.

Few days ago my fiancé got test result of covid positive so it’s been a pretty stressful few days. Cases in SG have been going up everyday for the past few weeks now, and I think the whole system is overwhelmed, so there’s a delay in everything including information relaying. The waiting for next step of action is so frustrating sigh...

When I used to have tvN Asia channel the primetime dramas will air within 24hours (means next day). I think that’s how they advertise. Not sure if they have changed their way of broadcast though!

I wasn’t that impressed with #Alive (I think that was the title?). So far that’s the only thing I’ve seen him in, but from some clips I’ve seen and mostly from what many say, he seems to be regarded as a very good actor. So I will probably try out 1 episode first and see if the story grips me! 
@mademoiselle If it’s anything like Sweet Home I will be watching for sure. Might be clutching a pillow/cushion throughout though😂

Haha yeah I don’t know what to focus on on that poster... seems to have too much going on. I’m used to simple-looking posters with one focal point, unless it’s for superhero movies like the Avengers.

Anyway can see why you didn’t enjoy the series overall. The later eps could definitely be better. Now I’m waiting for my next drama slump to try AIB. So far I’ve managed to avoid spoilers for that!

I think I’m having KSH fever... been binging 2d1n eps for him 😂 Good thing I haven’t watched any of Season 4 so I have a lot to get through.

I’m this close to changing my dp and if you know me this happens almost never!

The ending of Ep 8.

I was seriously feeling nervous for Hyejin...

I had flashbacks to CLOY too at this scene. Is the ML being a beacon of light a new rom-com thing? Lol not that I’m complaining! 

I finished this in 2 days. Only preview I saw before watching was the very first teaser, and boy am I glad for this! I think some of the posters contained a bit of spoilers so I’m glad to have avoided the them.

I didn’t watched AIB, so even though I’ve seen comparisons due to their survival games genre, I have nothing else to compare Squid Game to.

Overall I did enjoy the drama. I feel it was strongest in the middle episodes (I think 3-6/7?). These middle episodes are why I binged this series. Because of the strong middle eps, the last 2 felt kind of weak.

I agree with @Darkarcana about the police character:

Maybe if there’s a Season 2 they can show the police infiltrating the island and try to take down the people organising the games.

@Chocolate I got spoiled the first cameo while just mindlessly scrolling birdapp on Friday.

Ep 7 was slow plot-wise but the chemistry between our two male leads and HJ with the two of them saved the episode.

@Tofu They are indeed overly dramatic lol they vibe with each other so well!😂

I have a feeling there were a lot of ad-libs in this particular episode.

And the part where DS and SH re-enacted the ad and we thought it’s over but DS drops his chopsticks again (to hint at a round 2) felt like another ad-lib too.

I loved the detail of this scene too in the background of HJ who kept hitting DS during her fangirling and disbelief mode and DS who kept pushing her hand away (I think it happens a few times)😂 I think I am similar style to HJ during my fangirling too LOL

@abs-oluteM the ahjumma dispatch was really funny... her reaction when DS asked SH to stay for ramyun 🤣

Been quite busy so far this week... too tired after work to properly catch up with the drama threads. Jealous of this @abs-oluteM who has time to livestream the dramas! Haha..

@mademoiselle Me too I was quite surprised that Ep 5 managed to keep my attention throughout despite quite little happening. The entire ep was basically Round 1 of the art competition! Bold move lol and the ratings were still not bad too! This drama is making me appreciate traditional art more. The way they film the drawing scenes is so captivating too.

The colour palette of her umbrella and the scene where they played in the rain totally reminded me of the rainbow paddle pop ice-cream! Love those pastel colours 

@stroppyse Agreed I want DS’s past to be revealed soon too, they are indeed dragging it out.

But the story here is pretty simple. I guess the content plot-wise is not that much that’s why they have to reveal stuff like that slowly else there’s not much left to do for the remaining 10 episodes! The chemistry between the two leads is what’s keeping me watching. The ending with the three leads had me LOL. Did not expect that!😂
