  1. Episodes 11-14 -I'm still watching! I actually watched all the episodes live, but ironically just got lazy to write my opinions just as the really big twists were coming to light Typical me! I have to say while the twists are good, like @abs-oluteM, I guessed JW's dad after KJM was caught, so it was kinda fairly obvious too. In a weird way, I was more surprised about how involved LCJ was in his knowing every little detail of YY's death since he was tied to it through a number of people. - But like you all said, the biggest mystery still remains how he successfully courted OJH, especially since he's so slimey and she seems so smart and cynical. Like how were her standards so low??? - I felt like it took a long time for the unholy union's story to unravel...since all you ever saw at the start of the drama was the 3 of them having dinners over the developments... but once the murder story got underway it pretty much became a story about them. -YY's death was so horrible in that it seems like she suffered for a long time She would have been in pain and then thinking finally there would be a person to save her...only to be run over. And then who knows if she was struggling in pain or fully dead yet when she was hit by a second car. Really so awful....and then her body being hidden in the family home is just so super dark! -Although not the main killer, JJ's younger self seemed very irritating and irresponsible. Like he just seemed like a spoiled brat. And then he couldn't face the consequences of his action for years and just let his awful mother push him around - Ughhh JW's family is such a mess and it made me quite sad to see his childhood - no wonder he turned out to be so uptight. Haha...I feel that's why he has such love for DS...due to his daddy issues, he has found another father like figure to banter with - @mademoiselle I am impressed by your ability to still summarise whole story accurately while you were dozing...whereas me, I was paying attention wholeheartedly and still missed that JW's dad was rushing because his wife was committing suicide?? My excuse is: my attention is not too good due to fear for this series...I watch at 1am and then get very paranoid and can't look out any windows or anything in case scary murderers are outside
  2. Yep, that's true - every country makes villains out of certain countries. It's that concept of "otherness" - what is so different and unrelatable to us must therefore be bad. Too much time in behavioural studies classes (where we analysed films) It's so weird that there needs to be a strong claim to culture though. Can't all 3 cultures just be similar...or do they want it so that if they thought something was invented in Korea (but it could also have been invented in other Asian countries) that the drama would need to portray it so that only Koreans invented that thing? Like I wonder what the limits are. Ah yes, I forgot HY is in talks to be the female lead with Taecyeon. Not so bad for her then even if this project doesn't go ahead, since she's not main lead either. But I feel bad for the stress it's probably causing the production house. Yeah, KYD is everywhere these days due to Penthouse! I can't stand those types of dramas though Yeah, the second leads, while not stereotypically evil or angelic SLS type leads...are kind of boring and irritating to watch Like you both, I'm only watching for the main couple and pretty aesthetic of lighting and backdrops. Yeah...at episode 7, I don't even feel like they were married because you don't see much of a backstory...it almost seems like Ji Soo just had two guys obsess over her without really "getting her" It's more like junior and senior - I think in Asian languages there's a lot of words to represent feelings of love and closeness. They've probably picked something in between. A lot of nuances are lost in translation. My favourite, not on your list, was when they caught Lee Sung-Kyung with Nam Joo-Hyuk when they were dating after Weightifting Fairy. But then they broke up So far, I would say I enjoyed When the Weather is Fine more than A Piece of Your Mind. I could just be biased because Lee Jae Wook But I think overall the village characters are warmer and more fun in Weather and in terms of the 'darker' storylines, I feel like the reasons for the character's actions made more sense in Weather than APoYM?
  3. Hahaha yay! I can catch up! Wow...it sounds like not much is revealed about what he did at this stage of the drama yet?? I don't mind mysterious pasts/ dark secrets, but his character is pretty angsty and angry the whole time that it just annoys me to have to see him take up air time with his attitude instead of the soothing main pairing! Yep, I get you! It's a bit choppy having to go back and forth with equipment and stuff. Since it was a short week last week, I just went in all 4 days so I could get more done because yeah, it's weird when there's no rhythm! Hehe....at home you just wanna watch dramas! Congrats! That sounds like a good investment....now you can watch your oppas in greater detail
  4. Sharing these pretty edited Jun and Lala pics :)
  5. Hahaha I am catching up I'm on episode 7 now. Don't think I'll overtake you though...I can suddenly take an unexplained drama break for a week LOL ...yep, the ML is a very loyal puppy. I like that at ep 7 his feelings have finally transferred onto FL and it's all very cute. Tell me about it! I lose a lot of time too....but I don't know how you are still doing 8 dramas?! OMG. You too @Tofu! You are maybe scarier because I know you are watching 40 episode Chinese dramas with the K-dramas... I'm in awe of you and @abs-oluteM Thanks for explaining...I also didn't get this joke because of the lack of punctuation!!! Wowww still? I find it so weird that they are so angry about this supposed messing up of their history when the stations explained that this is not the case. I don't understand how past dramas also haven't taken creative liberties with history before too? Like why is it such a problem now and who is leading these petitions? It's feels like there's been a lot of weird/ bad news for EY stars - Snowdrop potentially on the chopping board for Hye Yoon, Lee Na Eun cancelled from Taxi Driver due to multiple bullying and dating scandals and Lee Jae Wook is still mysteriously without an agency, also not sure if he'll turn up in Move to Heaven cameo without agency. Only Rowoon and Kim Young Dae are going strength to strength with lots of project offers. Not bullying per say, but it's definitely cancel culture and mob mentality at it's most powerful. I wonder why this sudden "We must uphold history correctly" stance Like you could make this stance about any drama really...even Crash Landing could have been seen as shedding a positive light on N Korea? (I liked that drama, but just an example). Maybe it's post-covid anger. People want to take out their anger on something. Also again, I think it ignores the wider problems...like if this is such an issue instead of cancelling everything at the end stage they should maybe ask to be involved in planning/ screening of historical drama scripts going forward. And in case, maybe petition for someone to be involved in the editing process? I don't see why things have to be cancelled instead of worked on! (Yes, I know probably money comes into play...but it's better than scrapping it all....)
  6. Yeah, PBY does do a lot of fantasy films/ dramas. Man, don't get me started on Abyss! I can't believe I didn't drop it...it was soooo, soooooo bad, but I liked PBY and AHS and it was during lockdown where I had so much time on my hands Strong Woman Do Bong Soon was so cute and I loved her with PHS And at first the gangster subplot was funny...but I do remember an unnecessary drag in the last couple of episodes when they could have spent more time on the main characters! Anyway, here's hoping that the writer is able to do something good with the storyline. I like the idea of destruction walking through the door and I'm committed to watching even though there's going to be brain tumour storyline
  7. I see a heart too! Illness storylines are not my favourite due to their potential for makjang, noble idiocy plotlines and also lots of crying. Also I'm jaded with endings after DDSSLLS ... I'm hoping for a good happy ending...but if they want to do bittersweet I hope it's done in a tasteful and palatable way!
  8. Hahaha I was trying to be optimistic... but yes, those are all realistic diseases with modern aging life Yes, I feel like you captured all the things I found weird about the first 4 episodes. I guess I haven't been totally against the whole story since there's been much more problematic storylines. Just that it hasn't made me feel too warm to Ha Won yet since he just seems clingy. And Ji Soo I also find slightly annoying...Like the wanting and not wanting Ha Won in her life. Though at episode 4, there's enough context as to why she wanted him to come to Norway with her. All the guilt she felt. With that said there's enough mystery to keep me intrigued and I love the soft warm pastel feel of this drama...and I still think Chae Soo Bin is such a cute actress. Haha, my friend actually looks like her, so I think I just impose her personality onto her Yeah I agree - I do like that unrequited love triangle in A Piece of Your Mind. Poor Seo Woo liking Ha Won while he's still obsessing over his childhood love. I think the speaker memory thing is an interesting futuristic idea...but I don't know if I can suspend disbelief and run with the idea because it's such a big leap from when the device is just a robotic version of the person to when it becomes a technological memory of the person with their personality? Even in fiction, there has to be a bit more 'science' explaining to make it feel more believable. Hahaha are you also here in my state too? Otherwise we're all suffering from too much heat and sun Hahaha yep there's always an Easter Monday to make up for Easter Sunday not having a holiday I like CNBlue :) They always get me through their music
  9. Me too! I'm really not a Makjang drama person either! I like quality dramas with likeable characters - usually characters that share a sense of community like DDSSLLS rather than lots of backstabbing etc. Hmmm makes sense. I always wondered why he didn't really have strong interactions with his couple co-stars online after Extraordinary You....I remember that a lot of fans had bad Second Lead syndrome over his character and really shipped him with HY. Haha, but it might also have been because there was an overlap with both dramas and in some of the interviews he talked more about Search WWW (And how he liked filming with LDH) than Extraordinary You (And filming with HY) and so I guess people got salty Yeah I guess it would explain a lot - He didn't follow his When the Weather is Fine co-star since she didn't follow him, though he commented on her live when they were filming the drama together because some of his fans screenshot it. He also never posted any photos with her....And I think that's also maybe why he didn't post any with GAR either (though it makes sense when you're the lead couple!) I remember some of those major GAR fan clubs feel salty about him not posting a couple shot...but it seems like you're damned if you do and damned if you don't! I feel like LJW just let GAR do the promos. At least they follow each other GAR is not much of a commenter on anyone's Instagram it seems, so safe from any controversies there Hahaha I love how much attention you all pay to LJW and GAR's postings. And I have to say even if no secret meanings, the fact that they both buy such similar things, and do such similar activities makes me feel like they both actually really similar as people and definitely have great chemistry One of the Instagrammers who translated some of the behind the scenes videos for DDSSLLS had an issue with her Instagram and had to delete it (their username was 626bubu). And I don't think she'll be reloading her subbed videos...The good news is that since DDSSLLS has deleted so many things now I'm use to the drill so I had already saved all her subbed videos before that happened...so I'm going to ask if I can use her translations on my videos so that at least they are somewhere. Hopefully she'll be ok with a credit I'll post the subbed videos here if that happens Anyway, she's still translating LJW content on her new account and you can follow her here if interested: https://www.instagram.com/mykrelated/ I hope no one minds but with all the DDSSLLS drought and LJW not having an agency, some of the fans not on this forum but who contributed to the translation of the interview asked if I could make that translated video public to promote LJW during this quiet time, so I have. Let me know if anyone has any issues with it because I can always make it private again if that's what you prefer :) Anyway, even though it's now pretty quiet in terms of new DDSSLLS content and news, I still love this series and in a weird way, it's a bit of a hidden gem now. Here's to beautiful hidden drama gems buried in the night sky!
  10. It's true, you gotta live your life to the fullest and eat all the things you want to eat in your youth before they tell you your blood pressure is too high Well, I fully intend to do that anyway Wow...go @Jane! You're going well even with the starting and stopping. Since this series has only 12 episodes you are 2/3 of the way finished if you think about it...Are you enjoying the series? @mademoiselle I'm on episode 5 now. I do enjoy it... But the story is told in such a strange way....haha, I can't believe the female lead has a crush on male lead because of the way he's in love with second female lead, who is dead (at episode 4). What a triangle. Though I guess I understand she likes the sense of loyalty and care he has towards her? Hope you're having a good Easter weekend too! Sounds productive washing your car. I should wash all my blankets with this sunshine. Hey! You and I have the same work from home schedules. We're also doing 3 days, but I tend to do more due to focusing more in the office than at home (Janghaven is a temptation )
  11. Have many of the cases been confirmed? I only know Ji Soo and Shim Eun Woo because Soompi posted articles about them confessing. I was listening to a few drama podcasts about bullying scandals recently...haha does anyone here do podcasting aside from make them for Janghaven? There was one where they talked to a professor of Korean studies about the bullying scandals and I liked how they shed a bit more light. I don't know if they mentioned anything particularly new, but I liked the context given to things. For example, bullying accusations don't really have to be proven to be damaging. It's about damaging their reputation through just the accusation since they rely on reputation for product endorsement contracts etc. (I think it was this one that mentioned that). Anyway, it was a good discussion of the complications of bullying scandals and how Koreans should be focusing on fixing the issue rather than shaming an individual, but ignoring the wider issues. https://dramasoverflowers.net/2021/03/20/90-whats-up-in-dramaland-special-school-bullying-in-dramas-vs-real-life-when-our-faves-fail-us-feat-prof-cedarbough-saeji/ I feel bad for KeyEast too. Was that even his first agency? They probably took him thinking he was an asset to their agency and then this happened. It's a good thing Hwang In Yeop got such a big break from True Beauty or they would take such a hit. Yayyyy! This is sounding so good. I like a good rom com and hopefully he'll get a much better romance storyline to appease his legion of fans this time around!
  12. I have to admit I haven't watched any episodes yet, have you @SilverMoonTea @Tofu?
  13. Just went through the trailers and they look good. I think I'll watch this one since I was such a big Yong Hwa fan back in the day. But he's completely fallen off the Oppa list for me in recent years. Not sure why? Still the last time when I watched The Package I remember getting charmed all over again, so maybe I'll appreciate him in this I didn't watch Zombie Detective, but I felt like it wasn't super popular? Normally I like zombie stuff a lot but somehow that one didn't appeal to me. If you watched it, was it good? Yeah I thought they changed the title. I do not approve. Real Estate Exorcism / Haunted Real Estate sounded better (haha, that's why I only said 'I think I'll watch...' just in case it never happens due to my dislike of name changes)
  14. They replaced Jo Byeong Gyu with Taecyeon and Hye Yoon considering lead female role. Damn everyone is considering historical dramas so I'm probably going to have to watch at least 1 coming up
  15. Mmm I enjoy the super sweet rom-coms to balance out the serial murders too But rom-coms still have to have good characters and pacing. I can't just watch romance if other things are lacking. Haven't watched this series, but I feel like this happens in every harem drama And that's why I never watch them because the battles between Mother/ First wife/ Concubines and lack of communication or understanding by the man into his family's lives causes me great frustration. Also I always think of guys can't manage their own family's dramas, how are they also managing a country/ city/ town at the same time? Hahaha, you have a point. You just want the 2 flavours together...unless you wanted the ice-cream texture then you might be sad...
  16. But is that the other way around? Ice-cream flavoured popcorn?
  17. Thanks for the post! Haha I'm loving this curly messy hair. I think it's so cute! and he is hanging out in the cutest place with pastel baby animal pics and plants?! Some people keep asking what happened to his hair or they think it's because it's for a character/ role. The only think I can think of is if it's for Move to Heaven, if he's still in it? Totally agree- hope he joins a new agency and does more projects soon Though I'm glad we get a break from him in new romances! Haha, someone played an April Fool's joke with fake news that LJW was dating: https://www.instagram.com/p/CNGWEa2DQ40/ The back of the guy does look like him...I wonder if he was ever caught in rumours before Also did you shippers see this photo comparing LJW's new phone case with Go Ara's? https://www.instagram.com/p/CNFkfgyJ2XE/ Hahaha and the bike photos you all noticed...https://www.instagram.com/p/CNHWKlyp-5R/
  18. Hahahaha well if I find out I still have that offer, I'll let you know. I believe we established once we live in the same place This is a level of makjang I also cannot tolerate Hahaha some of my suppliers are But to be honest, easier for me to stream from KissAsian if the films are there Hehehe I have to catch up to @Jane on A Piece of Your Mind But maybe she's already finished?! Hahaha already Yeo Jin Goo and Lee Jae Wook are so young I don't want them to keep getting younger and younger!!! ...But it's ok because they paired YJG with IU and LJW with Go Ara (and Lee Da Hee before that) and some of those actresses are older than me, soooo...still sitting in dramaland acceptable age brackers I feel like Popcorn ice cream does exist. It's probably be a fancy, gourmet ice-cream flavour at Messina Gelato or Pidapipo or Piccolino. Have you been before? @TRaNz might know a place with Popcorn ice cream I'm proud of you Normally you drop dramas like the plague when you switch oppas. Very good point Helps me to justify fine dining also! Though don't normally spend on films.
  19. Oh man, I have not read anything else since Donna Tartt's The Secret History. It was like a reverse murder mystery where you knew a character had been killed from the first pages, so you kept reading to find out how the main character came to be involved in the murder. It was an interesting read, but one of those stories where none of the main characters were particularly likeable. I was pretty consumed by that for a week or so and found it hard to put down! But...been busy lately so haven't picked anything new. I'll probably go to the library tomorrow though so will update what I borrow!
  20. It use to be free when I started, but then times changed and it was $1...I saw a fair share of things before covid there just because it was convenient. I definitely wouldn't pay if not for the $1 staff perk! Hahahaha! I wish, I wish...maybe I'm just bad at maths and have bad memory of ticket prices Not as tender aged as Rowoon...but I'm the same age as a lot of actors and actresses I like, which is a comforting thought I guess! That's why you gotta have a USB and get yourself a download dealer (a friend who just does it for everyone ) Woooo Hello drama catch up time!
  21. Hahaha yeah, any one (guy or girl) who says they just need to borrow some form of cash will most likely be a scammer unfortunately Was listening to a podcast about these types of scammers Hahaha being busy is the best. I'm soo busy lately barely have time to watch dramas Yep, I have the Telstra ticket discount....it's nice to save on mainstream cinemas. But actually, working in entertainment, the perk is often free movies. I had $1.00 imax tickets before covid and could offer to friends, but I haven't tested this since after covid so no longer sure if it's a thing anymore I feel like this was when I was like 5 or something Netflix wins out of this! Or Bit torrent Already many of my friends just have a projector and wait till films come out on the streams. @Jane @mademoiselle I finally started A Piece of your Mind. It's pretty and the leads are lovely so far. I finally understand what Jane meant about the lighting. It's so dreamy and soft. I'm a little confused about the story so far, but it's episode 1 so I'm guessing it'll sort itself out!! But yessss.....so aesthetic Have you finished Jane?
  22. Ahhh yesss!!! I saw this on my socials today. I thought they look soooo good together. Someone cast them in something! I like LSK. I don't follow her in everything but would watch her projects with a good pairing if storyline and genre are to my liking. She seems to really get along with her old Dr Romantic actor friends! Good chemistry with KMJ for sure
  23. I think I will watch this one. I was originally interested in it because of the story and I was curious to see LNE act (having watched her from Extraordinary You)...but then her bullying scandal put me off. Watching the new trailers now that she's been replaced, it looks good. The new actress actually does kinda look like her still...I guess they wanted a particular image for her character due to the webtoon. Also I have to say in the posters, Lee Je Hoon is channelling both Ryan Gosling in Drive and Robert De Niro in Taxi Driver...haha, I suppose there's some similarities in both those stories too. But yeah, he has the cool, mysterious but deadly driver look down, alright!
