Jungkook of BTS amassed 500 million streams on Spotify with “Left ＆ Right,” a collaboration with American singer and songwriter Charlie Puth.

 

He achieved the feat in record time for a K-pop solo artist and has been breaking records with the song on the platform, reaching milestones in the shortest time in K-pop history: 100 million streams in 24 days, 200 million in 61 days , 300 million in 104 days and 400 million in 159 days.

 

The single was released in June and debuted on Spotify's Global Daily Top Songs chart at No. 3. It hit Billboard's Hot 100 at No. 22, the second-highest spot for a K-pop solo act at the time, only after Psy's “ Gentleman” from 2013. It stayed on the chart for 17 weeks in a row, a record for a K-pop musician.

BTS member Kim Taehyung, aka V, adds another record to his list of milestones before his debut album release.

 

Taehyung's OST "Christmas Tree" for the 2021 K-drama series "Our Beloved Summer" has surpassed "Stay With Me" to become the 2nd most-streamed Korean OST on Spotify. With this, Taehyung now occupies the Top 2 most-streamed Korean OSTs on Spotify. "The Astronaut" by Jin is his debut solo single that became a major success, setting and breaking many records around the world. In Korea, Jin was named the only "complete male soloist" among the releases in 2022 (by the Secretary General of KMCA) due to demonstrating equally great physical sales and general public interest on digital platforms. 

The most important chart for any artist is the Billboard Hot 100, and Jin holds the record for the highest solo debut there, as well as the highest first appearance in K-pop history.

The chart is respected for its authority in the whole world and demonstrates Jin's popularity around the globe.

Suga, a member of K-pop sensation BTS, will go on a world tour in six different countries starting in April, according to Big Hit Music on Wednesday.

 

The first concert will kick off at Belmont Park in the US on April, 26 followed by other cities in the US including Newark, Rosemont, Los Angeles and Oakland.

 

Then, Suga will be moving on to the Asian leg of the tour starting with a gig in Indonesia on May 26 followed by those in Thailand, Singapore, South Korea and Japan.

 

The dates for his Japan concerts are yet to be announced.

 

This is Suga's first tour as a solo artist since his debut in August 2016 with his first album “Agust D.”

 

Suga has since unveiled his second mixtape, “D-2,” in 2020 and has worked with other Korean artists, including K-pop diva IU and veteran ballad singer Lee So-ra, as well as American singer-songwriter Halsey.

 

Most recently, Suga's collaboration with Psy for "That That," the lead track on the "Gangnam Style" singer's ninth full-length album, has made it onto many local and foreign music charts, including Billboard’s main singles chart.

 

Suga is also expected to release a solo album in time for his world tour.

 

The world tour will likely to be his last work before he starts his mandatory military service. His latest concert was the “BTS Yet To Come In Busan” concert held last October.

Suga runs his own talk show, “Suchwita,” on YouTube and Weverse in which he invites his celebrities over for a drink and conversations about all things music and more.

 

Suga is the first from BTS to go on a world tour.

'J-hope In The Box' a documentary on J-Hope's first solo promotion, was released on February 17.

 

In this exclusive film, J-Hope took fans with him on his journey in promoting solo for the first time away from BTS group activities and also showed fans a little bit of himself when he is off the stage.

 

 

 

In one part of the film, J-Hope is seen visiting his parent's home and tells fans, "There is a stone I want to show you," and brings them to the backyard. There, he shows fans a large stone with the engraving "Hope World."

 

J-Hope revealed that the stone actually belongs to his father, and he engraved those words, showing his love for his son.

 

Meanwhile, BTS' J-hope has revealed a behind-the-scenes look at his 'All New Hope' photoshoot too for BTS' special 8-photo-folio pictorial project 'My, Myself, &'.

JungKook has surpassed 900 Million streams on his profile on Spotify across all credits, becoming the fastest Korean Act to do so in just 372 days.

Lego announced it will roll out a block set featuring K-pop boy group BTS, which will go on sale March 1. It will also be available at the BTS pop-up stores later in the month.

 

The set, featuring the seven members of the boy band and the places shown in the music video of their smash hit "Dynamite," will be available at Lego's online and offline stores. Fans can also purchase the toy at specially BTS-themed pop-up stores, scheduled to open at the Hyundai Department Store in Pangyo, Gyeonggi Province, on March 6 and the Hyundai Seoul in Yeouido, on March 7.

 

The set will cost 149,900 won ($115) in Korea.

 

 

 

 

"The new set embodies the band's creative forms of expression and includes the vibrant donut shop, ice cream truck and record store. Each building is fully detachable from the set, allowing for individual play and display experiences," the toy company said on its website.

 

The BTS Dynamite set was designed by Lego fans. "This Lego Ideas set was the brainchild of Lego fans and friends ― Josh, 20, from Indiana, and Jacob, 21, from New York. Combining their love of BTS and their passion for Lego building, they worked together to bring the set to life," according to Lego.

 

About the new Lego set, the Wall Street Journal wrote, "It will put the K-pop sensation's historically strong influence and marketability to the test."

BTS' Save Me music video went on to clear 700 million views on YouTube. This is officially the group’s 11th music video to have achieved this number of views.

 

The track was released in 2016 as a part of their album by the name of The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever. The Japanese version of the song came out a couple of months later as part of their album Youth.

 

"Save Me" reached the mark after "DOPE," "Fire," "Blood, Sweat & Tears," "Fake Love," "IDOL," "Mic Drop," "DNA," "Boy With Luv," "Dynamite" and "Butter."

 

"Save Me" is a song that combines elements of tropical house and future bass, and stands out with BTS's emotional vocals and refreshing sound. It is characterized by lyrical melodies and lyrics that represent the feelings of youth as they are.

K-pop giant BTS ranked second on the 2022 chart for top global artists released Thursday by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), an organization that represents the interests of the recording industry worldwide.

 

It marks the Korean group's third consecutive year in the top three on the Global Artist Chart following back-to-back wins in 2020 and 2021.

 

The septet first put its name on the list at No. 2 in 2018 and ranked seventh the following year. It topped the chart for two consecutive years in 2020 and 2021.

 

"BTS became the first act from a non-English-speaking country to rank in the top 10 of the Global Artist Chart for five consecutive years and was the highest-charted Korean act during the period, which proves its status as a '21st century pop icon'," the group's agency, Big Hit Music, said.

K-pop Superstar BTS’ anthology album “Proof” has successfully guarded its place within the “Billboard 200” for the 36 consecutive weeks.

 

According to the latest chart released by Billboard on February 22, “Proof” was ranked 151st which is 64 steps lower than its previous ranking.

 

 

 

 

 

Moreover, BTS’ fourth full length album which was released in February of 2020, was ranked 6th within the “World Album” chart and it managed to re-penetrate the “Top Album Sales Chart” as 77th on the list.

 

BTS’ leader RM’s first solo album “Indigo” was ranked 9thh in “World Album chart,” 29th on “Top Current Album chart,” and 53rd on the “Top album Sales chart.”

 

Within the “Global Chart” which excludes tracks released in United States, South Korean singer Taeyang from Bigbang’s collaborative track with BTS’ Jimin, “VIBE” has charted at 115th within the list.

 

Moreover, Jungkook’s “Dreamers” was placed 167th on the list, where as the collaborative track between Charlie Puth and Jungkook’s “Left and Right” was ranked 191st on the list.
