It's not a secret that Jin is very close to a famous Korean chef, Paik Jongwon. Both share the same values of helping disadvantaged people, popularizing Korean traditional alcohol breweries and eating delicious food. In November, the BTS member and the chef did a show together.

Today, the second episode of chef Paik's new show was released on Youtube. It's called "Becoming a market," about a thoughtfully-planned traditional market resuscitation project. Jin became a surprise guest in this episode as he arrived to visit chef Paik at the Yaesan market. It was just one week before Jin enlisted.

They like how handsome Jin looks in his military uniform as well.

BTS's RM is said to have presented a PPT Presentation to HYBE executives to propose a change in the company policy regarding NFTs

1674503855-untitled-1.jpg

Momentica, a non-fungible token (NFT) platform created by Dunamu, the operator of Korea's number 1 virtual asset exchange, and HYBE, is showing poor performance. This is a disappointing and painful result considering that it is an ambitious work that Song Chi Hyung, the chairman of Dunamu, had planned.

Momentica is a platform that trades virtual assets that can restrict users' transactions at any time according to the judgment of Levels (a joint venture between Dunamu and HYBE) and blocks screen capture at the source. Analysts say that it is not well received by both crypto investors and idol fans because it adheres to a centrally controlled operating policy.

Additionally, one of the most significant variables to Momentica is BTS, which is the biggest influence among HYBE artists. BTS has a substantial impact on their agency, and it is said that leader RM had made a PPT (PowerPoint) presentation to HYBE executives to change the company's policies on NFTs and it received favorable responses.

BTS's fandom, ARMY, has also strongly opposed HYBE's NFT business. They stated that when issuing NFTs, carbon is emitted and can pollute the environment. This is why Levels separately emphasized that it utilizes a low-carbon emission blockchain that effectively uses little power.

K-pop boy group BIGBANG's Taeyang and BTS' Jimin have made their debut as solo artists on the U.S. Billboard's main singles chart for their collaboration single "Vibe."

The digital single landed at 76th on the Hot 100 for this week by scoring 4.2 million streams and 20,000 downloads in the United States, Billboard reported Tuesday (U.S. time).

Combining the signature, silky voices of Taeyang and Jimin, "Vibe" depicts one's fluttering feelings toward his lover. In addition to his participation as a featured artist, Jimin also appeared in the music video for the song.

The tune earlier debuted at No. 96 on the British Official Singles Chart Top 100, one of the world's two biggest music charts along with the U.S. Billboard, after its release on Jan. 13. It marks the first time for both artists to enter the Hot 100 as soloists.

BTS, in particular, became the first act in K-pop history to have all the members listed on the Hot 100 as soloists, with Jimin being the last member to do so. Since J-Hope charted at No. 81 with "Chicken Noodle Soup," featuring Becky G. in 2019, Suga, V. Jungkook, Jin, RM and now Jimin have all followed in that order, tallying 12 solo entries so far, according to Billboard.

I'm happy that their solo projects are going well, but I do miss all the guys performing together, whether it's a concert or 'Run BTS' or even just goofing around during each other's Weverse Lives.

I know it will never be the same in the future, that their individual commitments will need to be balanced with any group activities.  Though I don't find their solo projects as engaging as their group efforts where they have to meld their varying preferences and influences. It's actually fascinating to see that while their solo activities may reflect more of the artists' personal commitments and interests, that it is in the group where they have to ascertain each other and factor their differences, that they are able to produce the more engaging songs and performances. I think it is because the members are both musical and opinionated and able to express both to each other that their syntheses are so much stronger.

Which isn't to say that I don't support the individual efforts. It's just to say that it makes me appreciate their group efforts that much more to see what they are doing individually and how good their individual endeavors.

Teaser clip of "J-Hope IN THE BOX" documentary. (Disney Plus Korea)

Disney Plus released another trailer for the documentary of BTS’ J-Hope “J-Hope IN THE BOX” on Thursday.

The trailer titled “J-Hope meets Jung Ho Seok” shows J-Hope, the K-pop superstar, interviewing his normal self as Jung Ho Seok, which is his real name.

“J-Hope IN THE BOX” is a documentary produced by BTS’ agency Hybe. The documentary follows J-Hope for around 200 days, documenting his journey in releasing his solo debut album “Jack in the Box.”

The BTS rapper landed 17th on the Billboard 200 with his first formal solo album.

In the trailer, Jung Ho Seok shares his story of the days when he used to dream of becoming a K-pop artist. J-Hope also shares the behind story of his performance as a headliner at Lollapalooza 2022 in August.

J-Hope was the first Korean musician to headline Lollapalooza, an annual four-day music festival held in Chicago’s Grand Park.

When asked by J-Hope what has been the most important things in his life, Jung Ho Seok said “In the past, it was my dream. Currently it is an endeavor and in the future it will be a challenge.” He added, “Endeavors can be a challenge and my dream can be a challenge so for me every moment in life is meaningful.”

On the other hand, Jung Ho Seok asked J-Hope about what he put the most effort into when carrying out his solo stage at Lollapalooza.

“The Lollapallooza stage which was a big challenge will be left as history for J-Hope. I did put effort into everything from lightning, stage preparation, to the sound system. But I put the most effort into showing the most of what J-Hope had prepared and practiced for the stage.” J-Hope said.

“J-Hope IN THE BOX” premieres on Feb. 17 at 5 p.m. via Disney Plus and the fan community platform Weverse.

BTS' Jimin made a special appearance during the Samsung Galaxy S23 launch, eliciting wonderful reactions on the internet.

Samsung launched the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galaxy S23 Ultra. During the Livestream, each product unveiled was properly introduced with specifications and new capabilities in order to appeal to customers of the popular South Korean electronics brand.

Since BTS are the global ambassadors for the brand, BTS led the launch campaign being the main stars to demonstrate the Galaxy S23 specific capabilities. Jimin looked every bit handsome, cute, and elegant in each of the content showing once again why he is the most preferred representative for brands worldwide. Samsung Chile even replied to a fan, affirming that Jimin will always look perfect to us.

It was a wonderful surprise when fans also noticed that during a presentation on GIF remastering for the Galaxy S23 Ultra, BTS member Jimin appeared on the big screen during the session.

The sample photo used for demonstration was gathered from BTS Jimin's iconic Galaxy BTS: La perfumerie advertisement by Samsung, released in 2020.

Ever since the BTS partnership with Samsung, the brand has seen profitable returns thanks to Jimin. His advert for the Samsung Galaxy s20 was revealed to be the most impactful as it contributed to the phone's marketing and brand ranking making it top among the 3 prime smartphone producers on the March 2020 smartphone model popularity rating. In 2021 Korea's Women Fashion Magazine 'Singles' reported on the successful Galaxy Z campaign starring BTS with an opening quote that read, "I 100% bought it because of Jimin."

Gramophone (Grammy Trophy) [Captured from Grammy Awards website]

The group BTS took the third challenge to win the award at the US's most prestigious pop music awards ceremony '65th Grammy Awards' on morning February, 6 in Korean time.

According to the music industry on the 5th, BTS was nominated for the 'Best Pop Duo Group Performance' and 'Best Music Video' categories at this year's awards ceremony.

In addition, Coldplay's 9th album 'Music Of The Spheres', which includes the song 'My Universe' collaborated by BTS, is one of the 4 main awards 'General Fields'. It was nominated for Album of the Year. In this category, all featured artists, songwriters, and engineers are recorded as winners.

As a result, if Coldplay wins, BTS will also have a record of winning the 'Album of the Year'. In addition, members RM, Suga, and J-Hope, who participated as songwriters in this album, are also listed on the record.

BTS was nominated in the category of 'Best Pop Duo Group Performance' with the global hit songs 'Dynamite' and 'Butter' at the 63rd and 64th awards ceremonies but unfortunately did not win. Accordingly, this is their third Gramophone (Grammy Trophy) challenge.

In the category of 'Best Pop Duo Group Performance', prominent pop stars such as Abba, Camilla Cabello, Ed Sheeran, Post Malone, Doja Cat, Sam Smith and Kim Petras are competing in addition to BTS.

In the category of 'Best Music Video', which attracted attention as it was nominated as a finalist for the Korean song 'Yet To Come', not only BTS but also famous stars such as Adele, Doja Cat, Kendrick Lamar, Harry Styles, and Taylor Swift were nominated.

It is known that BTS will not be attending this awards ceremony as their eldest brother, Jin, enlisted last month and temporarily stopped activities as a full group. However, the music industry's attention is focused on whether they will be the first K-pop singers to deliver 'Nangbo'.

Previously, among Koreans, soprano Sumi Jo (1993) and record engineer Hwang Byung Joon, CEO of Sound Mirror Korea (2012, 2016) won Grammy Awards.

Coldplay members wear the Wootteo badges created by #Jin in the preview for the Saturday Night Live

Coldplay is coming back with a new album called "Moon music" soon, and they're starting up promotions.

It caught the fans' attention that a few Coldplay members, Chris Martin and Jonny Buckland, were wearing Wootteo badges on their clothes in the preview for the Saturday Night Live episode.

As we all know, BTS' Jin is very close to Chris and the rest of the Coldplay members. The senior artists are very selective with the artists they work with, so Jin becoming almost the 5th member of them says a lot about him as an artist.

Chris complimented Jin's lyrical skills and his vocals. Ever since the artists met each other, Chris Martin has been constantly bringing Jin up in every interview. The artists' vision on music and life itself are similar in many ways.

Their joined stage in Argentina became a majestic experience for thousands of people, and the Wootteo plushie (that Jin gave them) became an actual talisman at Coldplay's concerts.

It seems like the members wanted to show their love and support to Jin, who is now serving as a training assistant in the military.

Fans also remembered how Chris gifted Jin a bunch of "Love" badges a year ago. It means they have a strong connection.

Coldplay performed 'The Astronaut' live on the US tv show "Saturday Night Live". They even had Wootteo hanging out next to the drum kit just like in Buenos Aires. They did a fantastic performance... but, I miss Jin. I hope he is well.

Even more interesting, Coldplay's second song that they performed was a mash up of 'Human Heart' and 'Fix You'. And, of course, BTS did a cover of 'Fix You' on their MTV Unplugged performance. So here is Coldplay on "SNL".

And, here is BTS' cover of 'Fix You' long before anyone even dreamed that Coldplay and BTS would ever collab.
