Career
Cho Jung Seok has acted in more than 20 of musicals and theater during the first nine years of his career, including Korean Musical productions for Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Greese, The Island and Spring Awakening. In 2011 he landed his first television role with drama What's Up (MBN). In 2012, he debuted as a comedic supporting actor in box office hit Architecture 101 and in the same year, he played a scene stealer role in drama series The King 2 Hearts (MBC). Cho Jung Seok's display of versatility and screen presence in those projects brought a mainstream popularity for him, resulting in many offers for film, TV series and commercials. Since then, he has starred in many popular and hit projects TV Series such as You’re the Best Lee Soon Shin (2013), Oh My Ghost (2015), Jealousy Incarnate (2016), Hospital Playlist (2020) as well as films The Face Reader (2013), My Love My Bride (2014), My Annoying Brother (2016), Exit (2019) and Hit-and-Run Squad (2019).

 

Personal Life
Cho Jung Seok has been in relationship with singer Gummy (real name Park Ji Yeon) since 2013. In June 2018, it was announced that Cho Jung Seok and Gummy would marry in fall and in October, news broke that the couple got married with a private wedding. In August 2020, Cho Jung Seok and Gummy welcomed their first daughter.

Q: How did you feel when you reach #1 Melon Chart?
A: When I reached #1 on Melon Chart... Rather than feeling that it's impossible, it brings honor to my family name. I think I was at #13 and then slowly going up to #1. At that time when I was shooting with Hospital Playlist and it was crazy. Everyone gave me nickname as OST King, of course as it's a joke but I felt so good and happy and I couldn't believe it. "Is this really happening?" That's what I thought. I really want to thank everyone for this award. It makes me really happy. 

 

Q: Words to OST Queen Gummy (previous winner of Best OST at MMA 2019)?
A: If I have to say something to her who is an OST Queen... Do you see this? 

 

Q: Words to Hospital Playlist team?
A: We have many stories. Actually because I appear in Hospital Playlist and got a chance to participate in singing the OST and gave this award to me and I think the biggest factor of me winning this award is because the power of the drama. I want to thank Shin Won Ho PD and Writer Lee Woo Jung. My fellow actors, Mi Do and Parasol members Kim Dae Myung, Jung Kyung Ho, Yoo Yeon Seok and Jeon Mi Do, thank you so much. Q: In 2020, what music means to you?
A: I think music is one of the thing that gives lots of strength to many people during this hard times. I might feel this because I'm an actor but I really realized how great the power of music. A: We might still have hard times but don't give up and I'm sure we will be happy. Cho Jung Seok confirms his appearances in the upcoming movie by Director Choo Chang Min 'The Country of Happiness' (tentative title). The movie will tell the story about a lawyer who gives everything he has to save someone who wrapped in a case that will shake modern history. Cho Jung Seok is expected to play the role of Lawyer Jung In Hoo.
