@abs-oluteMjust noticed that Space Sweepers dropped on Netflix as well. I'm going to be watching it as soon as I get off work tonight with a tub of popcorn! I'll come back and post once I've watched it.

@abs-oluteM I haven't watched it yet. I just finished Run On and also has Youn's Stay on the list, but it'll definitely be done this weekend. I even avoided watching teasers so I can be "surprised" and hopefully impressed.

@abs-oluteM, I finally watched it and I liked the movie. I even wrote up a quick review about it. Tried not to put too many spoilers in it.

 

 

I do rather love SJK as an actor, and the screen definitely seems to love him, too. He looks good, and his emotional moments can pull some serious emotions out, especially when it's restrained.

@stroppyse i watched it too.... yesterday since it was a friday.... i just kept refreshing the page....the moment it dropped... i watched it... gosh , it was on my "remind me" for as long as i remember...

i did ... it was good but its such a bummer.... tehy should have released it on cinema houses.... that should have been amazing... but nonetheless , i am satisified.... plus its kim tae ri and song joong ki....anything for them... :D

Yes, it would definitely have been better on a big screen rather than watching on my laptop. At least I got some popcorn and a soda before I started watching.

The Korean film industry has been getting better and better production values. I can see that this director with this cast would have been able to get some serious money, especially after last year's popularity of Parasite and thus the anticipation that this film might attract a much wider international audience even with its more mainstream populist themes. Anyway, the CGI alone speaks volumes that it wasn't cheaped out. A very good looking film.

in netflix india , korean entertainment grew by 370%.. major contributor being crash landing on you , King-eternal monarch and Start up. This industry still has lots of untapped potential.... I was glad that such a film which is giving equal sort of feelings like interstellar etc is being made out of Korea.... its a huge deal , huge huge huge deal...

Yay I just finished Space Sweepers @stroppyse @ssteph @movingwheel. It was pretty enjoyable.  And I was so moved by SJK's backstory. Did not expect to cry in movies like this . Lol!

Really looking forward to Vincenzo .

i cried too..... and then when they bid good bye to each other and we got to knwo that kot nim was already taken care of ..... they already knew that they are gonna die.... oh boy....my heart broke and i cried... SJK is soo good with kids.... no words literally.... and hats off to him to choose projects which suits  him..... wholeheartedly waiting for Vincenzo... !!!

tvN’s upcoming weekend drama “Vincenzo” released new stills of Song Joong Ki!

 

“Vincenzo” stars Song Joong Ki as Vincenzo Cassano, an Italian lawyer and Mafia consigliere who is of Korean descent, but was adopted by an Italian family at a young age. When he moves back to Korea due to a conflict within his organization, he winds up crossing paths with sharp-tongued lawyer Hong Cha Young (played by Jeon Yeo Bin) and her intern Jang Joon Woo (played by 2PM’s Taecyeon). Together, they join forces in using villainous methods to take down villains who cannot be punished by the court of law.

 

In the newly released stills, Vincenzo encounters the Geumga Plaza family, who all stare at the stranger warily. Tak Hong Shik (Choi Duk Moon), who is the owner of a dry cleaner store, looks ready to blow steam as he glares at Vincenzo. The stills also share a look at Chef Toto (Kim Hyung Muk) of Arno restaurant.

 

 

Furthermore, Lee Chul Wook (Yang Kyung Won) and Jang Yeon Jin (Seo Ye Hwa) seem to be having a couple fight behind bars, and Kwak Hee Soo (Lee Hang Na) and her son Kim Young Ho (Kang Chae Min) appear to have fought in their fast food restaurant. Larry Kang (Kim Seol Jin), the director of Go Step, has a frighteningly dark look while Seo Mi Ri (Kim Yoon Hye), the director of Destiny Piano School looks possessed as she plays the piano. Flustered and confused, Vincenzo grasps his head in stress.

 

 

Lee Hang Na, Choi Duk Moon, Kim Hyung Muk, Yang Kyung Won, Kim Seol Jin, Seo Ye Hwa, and Kim Yoon Hye, who play the store owners of Geumga Plaza, will bring their unique characters to life with their acting skills, raising anticipation for their hilarious synergy.

 

Director Kim Hee Won shared, “Geumga Plaza in itself is a large performance stage. It’s to the extent that it feels as if we’re watching the actors’ concert every time we film. We hope you enjoy watching the actors’ performance through the small screen as they paint out the story of Geumga Plaza.”

“Space Sweepers” Director Jo Sung Hee Talks About Reuniting With Song Joong Ki, His Response To Criticism, And More
 

 

“Space Sweepers” is actually a project that Jo Sung He has been working on for 10 years. Since he was already an established director with works like “Don’t Step out of the House,” “End of Animal,” and “A Werewolf Boy,” news of his attempt at a sci-fi blockbuster garnered much interest. The film also marks the reunion of the director with Song Joong Ki, who starred in “A Werewolf Boy.”

 

Working with the actor nine years after their first joint project was a more comfortable process, according to Jo Sung Hee. He added, “A long time has passed, but we kept in touch and had meetings in between. It didn’t feel like we were meeting for the first time in a while. So we communicated better for ‘Space Sweepers.’ The factor that has remained constant is Song Joong Ki as a person. He still has a unique way of getting close to others with his bright energy and ability to look after those around him. He tries to make the mood on set a good one. He is the same man then and now.”

 

He further commented, “Hasn’t he taken on a lot of cool roles in other projects in the meantime? I value outer appearances, but I also witnessed the warmth he carries inside and tried to showcase that kind of aspect through his character. The hero of a peculiar space movie doesn’t have to be the person in the cool outfit. If he’s too awesome, the story can seem nonsensical. I received courage from this point and wrote the story and character based off of that.”
