bluepebbles
[Official] "Explosion of presence just from the back"... The 2nd teaser poster for 'Kingdom: Ashin starring Jeon Ji-hyun is unveiled [Sports Chosun Correspondent Jo Ji-young] The world-class entertainment streaming service Netflix has released the second teaser poster for 'Kingdom: Ashen of the North' (screenplay by Eun-hee Kim, directed by Seong-hoon Kim). The 2nd teaser poster that was released draws attention with the strong back of Ah-shin (Jun Ji-hyun), who has become an adult. Ashin, facing the cavalry alone with a bow in the broad plain of the cold northern part of the country, amplifies curiosity just by looking at the back surrounded by black smoke and flames. What kind of whirlpool of fate has struck young Asin (Kim Shia), who has discovered the resurrection plants that bring the dead back to life. The story of 'Ashin, the beginning of death' also causes a lot of speculation about Ashin's warriors who are entangled in the starting point that drove Joseon into fear of the plague. If 'Kingdom' seasons 1 and 2 dealt with the tragedy of the plague that spread like wildfire in the south of Joseon, 'Kingdom: Ashin of the North' deals with the story and origin of the first found plan in the northern part of the wilderness , with unfamiliar background . It makes you anticipate a huge story that will unfold. 'Kingdom: Asin' is a special episode of the 'Kingdom' series that tells the story of Saengsacho and Ashin, the beginning of the great tragedy that covered Joseon. Jeon Ji-hyeon, Park Byeong-eun, Kim Si-a, etc. appeared, and writer Kim Eun-hee, who created the 'Kingdom' series, wrote the script, and director Kim Seong-hoon took the lead. It will be released simultaneously in 190 countries around the world on July 23. source 2 1 Link to comment

bluepebbles
The teaser is really a tease @liddi, another month to wait! New poster Netflix has released the first main poster and the second teaser trailer for the special episode 'Kingdom: Ashin of the North'. 'Kingdom: Ashin of the North' revealed the first main poster and the second teaser trailer, revealing the clues to the incident that devoured Joseon. 'Kingdom: Asin' is a special episode of the 'Kingdom' series that tells the story of Saengsacho and Ashin, the beginning of the great tragedy that covered Joseon. In the first main poster, which was released, Jeon Ji-hyun, who played the role of Ashin, who stood showing her back in the last poster, finally reveals her face, raising expectations. A strong charisma comes out from Ashin's dignified expression holding the bow. With the discovery of life and death, curiosity is rising in the story of Ashin, who is at the crossroads of a cruel fate. The second teaser trailer released together begins with a scene where a tiger attacks people in a deep forest. Following the frightened people, a young Ashin appears and tells his father Tahab that he has found a strange grass that is said to bring the dead back to life. Tahab is worried about Ashin and urges him, but Ashin, whose mother is seriously ill, is not easily accepted. Then again, in the forest, several corpses, strange wild animals, screams of people, and the appearance of the cavalry pile up in a mess, causing great confusion. Afterwards, Ashin's blunt words that she could wait a few years "if you allow tears of blood to flow from their eyes" suggests that something difficult has come to her. The copy of 'Death to devour Joseon begins' implies that the great tragedy that occurred in 'Kingdom' begins with 'Kingdom: Ashinjeon', igniting curiosity about the origin of the resurrection plant. The world's attention is focused on the huge story that will unfold in 'Kingdom: Ashin', such as the fresh and new story that continues as the stage expands from the southern tip of Joseon to the Yalu River, and the immersive performances of Jeon Ji-hyun and Kim Si-ah, who are perfectly immersed in their characters. The 92-minute special episode 'Kingdom: Ashinjeon' for the long-awaited fans of 'Kingdom' will be released on July 23rd only on Netflix. source Other headlines Jeon Ji-hyun's main poster for 'Kingdom: Ashinjeon' revealed "The death to devour Joseon begins" Jeon Ji-hyun's poster makes the world tremble 'Kingdom: Ashinjeon' released on July 23rd 2 1 Link to comment
bluepebbles
'Kingdom' Writer Kim Eun-hee returns with part 3... The story behind the birth of 'Ashin of the North' revealed Interviewed by <Interview 365>. Writer Kim Eun-hee , who has proven the power of K-content globally with the 'Kingdom' series which depict the Joseon version of zombies, will present 'Kingdom: Ashin of the North', the third installment of 'Kingdom' that has attracted worldwide attention from the drama production stage. Writer Kim revealed the story behind the birth of the prequel 'Ashin of the North' of the 'Kingdom' series ahead of the Netflix release on the 23rd of next month. Writer Kim, who wrote seasons 1 and 2, unravels the mysteries of the origin resurrection plant and the identity of Ashin in this special episode. If 'Kingdom' depicts the encounter between Joseon and zombies in an explosive manner as a way of reviving the dead, 'Kingdom: Ashin' traces the origins of resurrection plant and the plague that brought unimaginable tragedy. Writer Kim said, "'Kingdom: Ashin' was story of the beginning of everything." This work tells about the warrior of the mysterious character 'Ashin', which Lee Chang and his party met while heading north to find the secret of 'Saengsacho', the beginning of the great tragedy that enveloped Joseon, and is a special episode in Season 2 All. Jeon Ji-hyun, who caused a lot of attention by appearing in the ending of 'Kingdom' season 2, continues the story by appearing as the main character, Ashin. The idea of 'Ashin' started naturally as writer Kim wrote seasons 1 and 2, researching and pondering about life and death. Writer Kim said, "Since the resurrection plant is a grass that lives in cold environment, I became interested in the northern regions of Joseon, such as the Dead-Season County and Gaema Plateau." She explained why the background was set to the north. Writer Kim said, "While researching the material, I saw a record of a place called Dead-gun because it was forbidden to enter, among the administrative districts of the Yalu and Tuman Rivers, which were installed for military purposes during the reign of King Sejong of the Joseon Dynasty. “I expanded my imagination to what would have happened if raw and sage plants had grown in a place where no one had reached them,” she explained. “Ashin was created by embodying a person living on the border of the Yalu River* as a periphery and a sage (a savage who lived under a castle on the outskirts of Hamgyeong-do).” As a result, a special episode of 92 minutes was created that contains the vortex of the fate of Ashin, who discoveres the plant. Ashin will experience the raw sand that arose in the deserted northern land that no one could step on. In particular, 'Ashin' raised expectations with the news that director Kim Seong-hoon, who was in charge of directing season 1 and general production of season 2, has joined to lead the drama. He said, "Ashin will be able to capture the beauty of another world that was not shown in seasons 1 and 2 of 'Kingdom'. At the end of 'Kingdom' Season 2, the mysterious characters Ashin, who first appeared in the north, meets the group of Lee Chang and Seo-bi . The 'crumbs' about the resurrection plant which gave rise to many speculations from viewers around the world, may be unraveled. source 2 1 Link to comment

ktcjdrama
This one looks so much more interesting than the first and second season. Can anyone tag me again after it starts airing, whether I can just dive into this one without watching S1 and S2? 3 Currently watching: Queen of Tears // Midnight Studio // Lovely Runner // Hide // Snowstorm Love Link to comment
liddi
The official trailer is out! How many more days to go? Watch: Jun Ji Hyun Is Determined To Get Revenge In “Kingdom: Ashin Of The North” Teaser DRAMA PREVIEW Jul 8, 2021 by L. Kim Netflix has unveiled a main teaser for “Kingdom: Ashin of the North”! An extension of “Kingdom” Season 2, “Kingdom: Ashin of the North” is a special episode dedicated to Jun Ji Hyun’s character Ashin, whom Lee Chang’s (Joo Ji Hoon‘s) party encountered on their journey north at the end of the season. The newly released teaser shares a glimpse of the mysterious forest in the northern part of the country. The atmosphere is chilling, and a couple soldiers spot a pile of corpses in terrible conditions. A young Ashin (Kim Si Ah) enters a cave and claims, “I saw a strange plant. Apparently, it can awaken the dead.” That is only the beginning of the horrific tale of a forest where nobody has been allowed to enter for the past 100 years. People attempt to run away from a belligerent tiger, and Ashin is left alone as she witnesses people dying left and right. Subsequently, Ashin approaches Min Chi Rok (Park Byung Eun) and asks him to get avenge for her. The only response she gets is, “This is not something Joseon can intervene in.” Ashin grows up to become someone who is only motivated by revenge, and she vows to kill every living thing on Joseon and Jurchen soil.
