Kim Go Eun, Nam Ji Hyun, and Park Ji Hu will be uniting for a new drama!

 

It was previously revealed in September that Kim Go Eun and Nam Ji Hyun were offered roles in the upcoming drama “Little Women” (literal title).

 

On December 23, it was confirmed that Kim Go Eun and Nam Ji Hyun will be starring in the new drama along with Park Ji Hu.

“Little Women” is about three sisters with a close bond who grew up in poverty. The drama follows the exciting story of the sisters as they get embroiled in a major incident and face off against the wealthiest family in the nation.

 

Kim Go Eun plays the eldest sister Oh In Joo, who wants to protect her family with money. Growing up in extreme poverty, her only dream was to live as well off as other normal people, but a major incident completely shakes up her life.

 

Nam Ji Hyun takes on the role of the second sister Oh In Kyung, a news reporter who does not want to bow down to money and aims to always do what’s right. When a mysterious case from her early reporter days returns close to her, she starts digging for the truth.

 

Park Ji Hu transforms into Oh In Hye, the youngest overwhelmed by the love of her older sisters who work hard for her. Although she has never even used decent art supplies due to their family’s financial situation, she enters an art high school with her natural talent.

 

As reported in October, Wi Ha Joon is also in talks for a role in the drama.

 

“Little Women” will be directed by Kim Hee Won of “Money Flower,” “The Crowned Clown,” and “Vincenzo” and written by Jung Seo Kyung of “Mother.” The drama is set to premiere in 2022 via tvN.

tvN's new Saturday - Sunday series, Little Women, recently dropped its new poster starring Kim Go Eun, Nam Ji Hyun, and Park Ji Hoo.

 

The new drama follows the story of three sisters who grew up in poverty as they become embroiled in a major incident and face off against the wealthiest family in the country. The upcoming show will be helmed by Vincenzo director Kim Hee Woon and written by Decision to Leave screenwriter Jung Seo Kyung.

 

Kim Go Eun plays Oh In Joo, the eldest sister who sees money as a means to protect her family. Born into a poor family, she grew up wishing to live as well off as others, but an unexpected event completely shakes up her life.

 

Nam Ji Hyun transforms into Oh In Kyung, the second sister who chooses justice over money. She works as a news reporter with a high sense of duty and empathy. When a mysterious case from her early days as a reporter resurfaces, she begins digging for the truth.

 

All Of Us Are Dead star Park Ji Hoo will take on the role of the youngest, who enters a prestigious art school with her exceptional drawing talent. Despite being overwhelmingly loved by her older sisters, she is now ready to venture out into the world.

 

The production team shared, "The solid world system begins to shake as soon as the three sisters in the lowest and darkest place attempt to enter the highest and brightest place. The story that ordinary sisters will create will be thrilling. Please enjoy the collaboration between Kim Go Eun, Nam Ji Hyun, and Park Ji Hu, who will pull off their characters with different charms."

On the 9th, tvN's new Saturday and Sunday drama Little Women which will be aired on September 3, released a still cut of Kim Go Eun's character, played by Oh In Joo, who wants to protect her family with money.

 

Writer Jeong Seo-gyeong, who has been recognized worldwide for her writing skills from the movies “The Handmaiden” and “Decision to Break Up” to the drama “Mother,” and director Kim Hee-won, who was loved for her delicate and powerful directing through “Vincenzo” and “The Man Who Became King,”.

This drama is a (loose) adaptation of Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. As a young girl growing up, I read this book over & over. And I even have the subsequent books in the series. So I am interested in how they are going to "adapt" this as the book is sacred to me . LOL...

The 3 sisters. So Nam Ji Hyun will play the 2nd sister who is in the book the heroine, Jo March. The reckless & daring one ( in those times anyway)
