Plot:

Im Joo-Kyeong (Moon Ga Young) is a high school student. Since she was little, she has had a complex about her appearance. To hide her bare face, Im Joo-Kyeong always wears make-up. Her excellent make-up skills makes her pretty and she hides her bare face in front others. She gets involved with 2 men; Lee Soo-Ho (Cha Eun Woo) and Han Seo-Joon (Hwang In Yeop).

Moon Ga Young surely fits for Joo Kyeong, not to mention Cha Eun Woo as Suho!

Besides, they are two beautiful people who look like they come out of comic books, so it's already very convincing. I also came across this on FB, under the script reading comments. Did the webtoon artist uses Eun Woo as her model? :D

[News] 2020.10.12 Cha Eun Woo, Moon Ga Young, And Hwang In Yeob’s Upcoming Drama “True Beauty” Holds First Script ReadingScript Reading Photos Released

 

On October 12, tvN’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama “True Beauty” released photos from their first script reading.

 

“True Beauty” is a self-esteem building romantic comedy surrounding Joo Kyung (Moon Ga Young), who uses makeup to battle insecurities about her appearance. She meets Su Ho (ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo), who has wounds of his own, and they grow as they share their secrets with one another.

The drama is based on a popular webtoon of the same name and will feature Moon Ga Young, Cha Eun Woo, and Hwang In Yeob. It will be directed by producer Kim Sang Hyub, who was recognized for his work on “Extraordinary You.”

 

These members were in attendance at the script reading, along with Park Yoo Na, Park Ho San, Jang Hye Jin, Im Se Mi, Kim Min Ki, Park Hyun Jung, Oh Eui Sik, and Kim Byung Choon. Even though it was only their first reading, the actors sported explosive synergy with their passionate performances and perfect chemistry.

 

Moon Ga Young stated how much of an honor it is to work with the cast and that she will work hard to make it an exciting project until the end. Everyone was charmed by her determination and the positive energy she brought to her character, Im Joo Kyung.

Cha Eun Woo added to the heartening mood by wishing everyone to stay healthy and happy throughout the filming. He then completely transitioned into his character Lee Su Ho as he took on a cold demeanor with glaring eyes and blunt speech.

 

Hwang In Yeob, who will be playing the character of Han Seo Joon, instantly caught everyone’s attention with his low voice. All the actors who participated in the script reading played into their characters exceptionally well.

 

After the reading was over, director Kim Sang Hyub commented that the process had helped him get a clearer picture of the drama in his head. He added that he was looking forward to filming after seeing how well the actors took on their characters because they made it more interesting than he had expected. He promised to work on making the shooting process a fun and exciting one for everyone, and his statement was followed by applause from those at the reading.

 

The production team for “True Beauty” stated, “It was such a fun script reading that we lost track of time.” They added, “We were able to confirm the chemistry between Moon Ga Young, Cha Eun Woo, and Hwang In Yeob, as well as the rest of the cast, through this reading. We will see you again with a drama filled with sweet excitement and fun this winter, so please look forward to ‘True Beauty.'”

I thought the casting was perfect - Always thought of Cha Eun Woo as Suho, but it is a bit of a similar role for him as My ID is Gangnam Beauty. Wow, it'll be released in December? The webtoon is still going though so wonder how the ending will work.

Upcoming drama “True Beauty” has given a further look at its main characters!

Based on a popular webtoon of the same name, the romantic comedy is about Lim Ju Gyeong (Moon Ga Young), a cheerful and optimistic high school student who uses makeup to deal with her insecurities about her appearance. She’s determined to hide her bare face from the world, so she tends to overdo her makeup. She meets Lee Su Ho (ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo), who has wounds of his own, and they grow as they share their secrets with each other.

On October 29, tvN released character posters of the drama’s leads Moon Ga Young, Cha Eun Woo, Hwang In Yeob, and Park Yoo Na along with illustrated versions created by the original webtoon’s author Yaongyi.

The posters give a glimpse of the characters and their social media presence.

Moon Ga Young’s character Lim Ju Gyeong is lovely in a pink outfit while she applies makeup and smiles sweetly for the camera, and she shows her love for makeup with a lipstick emoticon next to her name in her profile. She has 3,871 followers, is following 129 people, and has 99 posts.

Cha Eun Woo boasts handsome looks as model student Lee Su Ho, who has a basketball emoticon next to his name. Although he is not following anyone and has not posted, he has over 13,000 followers.

Hwang In Yeob plays Han Seo Jun, who shows more rebellious charms with jewelry and an unbuttoned uniform. He expresses his love for biking with a motorcycle emoticon in his profile and a helmet in his photo. He has 77 posts and is following 50 people, and he also appears to be popular with over 11,000 followers.
