He has, just the show taking forever to give us this break up scene because they kept doing flashbacks and side characters, and more curses!

Hello friends! I'm popping in once again after like a million weeks or so to check in. How is everyone? I know this is an Oppa thread but it turns out the first Korean fan meet I'll ever go to is for an Unnie  I'll be seeing Kim Sejeong when she comes down to Melbourne  I thought it was pretty good of her to goo to Kuala Lumpur, Melbourne and Sydney, so had to support especially since I did enjoy Business Proposal and The Uncanny Counter. But I do wish some of my favourite actors would pop down (though admittedly KSJ is down here for a concert since she's technnically a Kpop star...I just never seem to get into the Kpop idols though). When will they bring my Oppas down to Australia?!

Anyone watching The Devil's Play on Netflix? It's not bad although some of the games are so difficult I don't even know what is happening lol.

 

I like the way Ha Seok Jin is playing the game. He's not bad looking - why does he not have any hits or major roles? 😅

 

 

He was introduced on The Devil’s Plan due to his impressive past of scoring in the top 1% during his college entrance exams. While having been an actor for 18 years, he majored in mechanical engineering at Hanyang University.

He is extremely intelligent and was part of a variety that I watched from time to time called Problematic Men. A very interesting game show testing the IQ and EQ of its main cast. BTS RM and my other oppa love Kim Ji Seok were also in this variety .

 I have watched many of his dramas. He's a good actor but tends to be typecast playing arrogant / snob MLs who will soften later. He had lousy luck with his agencies too hence not getting the sort of roles he should get.

When I was traveling in Asia, a few of the oppas were having their fan meetings. However, none of the fan meetings matched up with when I would be in those countries. It was either they were there before I got there, or they came after I left. Then again, I don't know if I would have went even if we were at the same place at the same time.

The stars really need to align for such things, I find! Plus, there's the issue of even when the time is right, are there any tickets left? I find this most concerning, being a “J”. Hahaha!

Seems Devil's Play has raised his profile. Hopefully he gets more opportunities after this.

 

People are also shipping him with Lee Si Won (for drama, because she is married). @mademoiselle she was Woo Jin Woo's ex-wife in MOTA and also the secretary in Adamas. She was not likeable in both roles. But here she grows on you in Devil's Play.

Yes, she played the mute PA in Adamas. I didn't know it was her, just found her familar until I googled. Not super smart, but she is quite observant and perserveres. She is also aggressive, so not very likeable in the first few episodes of Devil's Play too - I think her association with Ha Seok Jin helped the audience like her more. In real life, apparently she has 10 patents for some sheet masks. She also said after 10 years in the industry, it is only now that she feels like a celebrity.

Hahaha, you forget, I suffered through 40 episodes of Never Gone! That was worse than the spy one, so I am all tapped out. In addition, if I need to get Elvis Han fix, I just re-watch Fake It lol. But this also shows I am not superficial - there's only so much I will do for a pretty face - needs to have some substance supporting it!

 

But you're both right, I'm searching Ha Seok Jin now 😉😊

 

I'm in a reality show phase now. Maybe because work is very busy, I don't have energy to immerse in a drama. Reality is light enough. I even watched Physical 100 😂

I barely see her in dramas. I'm curious what patents she got, any brands we know of. 🤔

Sigh, I wish Korean dramas would stop having actors speak Mandarin. They really sux at it, even Namgoong Min. Why can't they hire someone teach them? I couldn't understand a word he said, and worse, the tone of each word is flat! 🤦🏻‍♀️

If you want to see Ha Seok Jin’s dramas , you can try Something About 1% & Drinking Solo. He’s good playing the arrogant jerk lead , whom you’ll like at the end of the day . 🤣🤣. 

@mademoiselle I watched that cut sometime back . I love Hong Jong Hyun , so I checked it out .

I loved 1% ! It’s one of those old school I’m-coms . But maybe it’s also not everyone’s taste.  Don’t you think HSJ is a good kisser ? 😜 He has this very famous ( iconic ) scene here

1% is typical romcom plot and the kind I like to read. Perhaps because it is a 2016 drama, it's a bit hard to watch now. A lot of reviews say he had great chemistry with the FL but I didn't feel it. But I finished it so it was decent. Don't think I'm getting past ep 1 for Drinking Solo - the plot seems really bad.

 

Wah @abs-oluteM I laughed so hard at that video! He seemed so lecherous lol. And that BGM is straight out of porn!

 

But that drama supposedly to be part variety, so that scene is right in line with his real self haha. IRL apparently HSJ likes to smell things. In Devil's Play, all contestants were given a pouch with a reward piece. He smelled the inside and outside of that pouch. When asked why, he said that's what he usually does lol.

 

I'm not sure whether he is a good kisser. There were some articles that said he had good kisses in  1%, but it didn't look that good on screen I thought. This video is better. He really plasters his lips to the FL huh 😆

@mademoiselle Can you help find a link to this drama with chinese subs? Apparently there is chinese subs but no eng subs. I watched ep1 raw, and it's quite funny. The premise is they are 5 actors shooting a drama and the other "variety" part is before/after filming, they capture them to see if actors really fall in love with their co-stars. Quite interesting premise.

I might have found a new crush in Kim Young Dae. 

 

Although, I don't know if it's because, together with Pyo Ye Jin, I think they are adorable. Or maybe because I like his Christian Dior loafers. Nevertheless, their drama (another time travel drama) comes out today.
