Gosh I am so looking forward to this drama because everything released so far looks really really promising! Lee Sang Yi is a new love of mine so I am very excited that he's coming out in this drama with Seon Ho! I don't know if my eyes can handle so much handsome on the screen! Yay you are here. I plan to watch it before this starts.  It’s a very short movie & I did check the ending to confirm that I won’t be getting any unnecessary shocking outcome! Two rom coms  I watch this year had major plot twist . My heart could not take it

I had some free time and decided to look up for the characters description at tvn website. Is there any translation that has been shared before in here @abs-oluteM? If yes then I'll just post this one that I have tried and won't do the rest. But if there's none, then maybe when I have the time I'll look again for the rest of supporting characters.

Yoon Hye Jin

 

 

As she walks, for a moment, it feels like the world is moving in slow motion. Her pleasant voice has a melody like singing a poem. When she smiles, you can see her dimples and the ambient light intensity around her seems to brighten by about 100 lux. The word pretty is not enough, she is the personification of loveliness itself.

Her job is a dentist. She graduated from a prestigious dental university and currently she is a Pay Doctor who earns hundreds million won. There's a twist in her so perfect life.

 

Maybe it's because she mainly studied with textbooks, she has shown a weakness in common sense. She regularly sponsors the socially underprivileged every month, but she is a super individualist. Although she looks like a princess who has never suffered, she is actually a self-made woman (earn her succeed with her own capability).

 

Hye Jin never lives carelessly ever since she was born. Despite her family difficult circumstances, she did well in her studies, and becoming a doctor was perhaps a natural choice for her. After 22 years of dedication from her elementary, middle and high school days to her rigorous training, she thinks it's her turn to be rewarded with her money and success. After she gained some more experience, she was thinking of opening her own hospital in Gang Nam 5 years later, but this plan suddenly goes awry. And it's because 2% justice personality that is hidden inside her!

 

After many twists and turns, she goes down to the sea village ‘Gong Jin’, where a man named ‘Hong Banjang’ (Mr Hong/Chief Hong) appears in front of Hye Jin, who is about to open a dentistry! This is the first time she heard title of class leader(반장 (Banjang) in Korean) since she graduated from school. He is basically a half-unemployed man who takes charge of all kinds of neighborhood chores, and this mysterious man who spreads all kinds of rumors, starts to get on her nerves... So, Hye Jin is started to become curious about him

 

Hong Du Shik

 

 

There's a story about his facial features. His sculpture-like nose is imbued with deep sorrow of Greek tragedy, his boyish smile evokes nostalgia about first love. His deep gaze that seems to be like an abyss, make people want to shout 'Cheers to your eyes!' Not only he has an outstanding hardware, he also has a fantastic software and people call this perfect man as 'Hong Banjang' (Mr Hong/Chief Hong).

 

That's right. Within the administrative designations of Neighborhood, Village, District, Section, Du Shik is designated to represent a section, that Section Leader!
Twice a year, a holiday bonus of 50,000 Won is all. Rather than seeing it as volunteer work, it's an honorary position!
In Chong Ho city, Gong Jin region, 5th district, section 1, he’s in his 3rd year as the Section Leader. However his official job is... unemployed. However, both side of the poles are mutually connected, and although there is no job, the work that he has to be done is infinite. He earns a living by working at various part-time jobs and his salary is only the minimum hourly wage of 8,720 won.

 

Everyone is curious about the reason why Du Shik is living like this, but no one knows the answer. There are only all kinds of speculations about the unknown gap of 5 years! But what is certain is, that this is the way of life that Du Shik has set. Just let it flow naturally and he will leave it just like that.

 

If something happens to someone in somewhere, he will definitely show up. In Gong Jin, Du Shik is Superman and Spider-Man. He is naturally born as a nosy person who is involved in small and big things of his neighborhood, and although he is not openly friendly or frugal, he is someone who like an earthen-bowl that gives a long warm feeling.

 

Hye Jin, a woman who is completely different from him, appears in front of Du Shik. A woman who draws line at people and acts like an idiot, a woman who is unnecessarily sincere and passionate about her life, a woman who always carries an umbrella in her bag for fear of rain. This woman starts to get on Du Shik nerves.

 

 

Ji Sung Hyun

 

 

If you don't know the three characters of the name 'Ji Sung Hyun' in the broadcasting industry these days, you're a spy. The hands of Midas who made numerous programs a success as a PD affiliated with ovN Entertainment! His programs are an observational variety shows that warmly depict the story of how people eat and live, as well as human-friendly content which all records an all-time hit.

 

He wanted to be a film director when he was young and a journalist while he was in college, but in the end, unexpectedly he became an entertainment producer. There is a belief that life always takes you on the more interesting side.

 

He is a bright workaholic who mostly possess for 70% of the conversations in work group chats. Contrary to his gentle appearance, there is a tendency for him to overuse aegyo and emoticons on mobile chat. He sees work as play, and colleagues as friends. It might be tiring but everyone who works with Sung Hyun likes him. In the distorted group of people in the broadcasting station, he is in charge of DMZ and clean zone. The only thing that Sung Hyun is sensitive to is food! He is a self-proclaimed gourmet who gets angry when he is hungry, and even gets angrier when he fills his stomach with tasteless food.

 

As the owner of a honey-dripping voice, he worked as a broadcast station announcer when in university. When he was a freshman, he met Hye Jin through a team play in a required liberal arts course. Hye Jin, whose eyes were always shining bright even though she was busy living pressed by the time, was unique and pretty.

 

While he is planning for a new variety shows and went for a survey, he took the wrong road and arrived at Gong Jin Port, where he reunites with Hye Jin again. He thought that he would like to meet Hye Jin again someday, but he didn't know that it would happen in Gong Jin. Sung Hyun then thinks. 'I wonder if fate brought me here.'

I agree - I too love a good checkered shirt!

 

I've been on a short drama break except for Superior Shaman since I've been doing some other things. But this one is my next live drama and with all the trailors and pictures, I'm looking forward to it. I hope it really has the nice relaxing and cute vibe it's selling!

Interestingly this writer who wrote The Crowned Clown gave an interesting ending . I am still debating with myself about it’s meaning

The premiere of Shin Min Ah and Kim Seon Ho’s upcoming drama is quickly approaching!

 

On August 24, tvN’s “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” held an online press conference featuring Shin Min Ah, Kim Seon Ho, Lee Sang Yi, and director Yoo Je Won.

 

A remake of the film “Mr. Hong,” the romance drama stars Shin Min Ah as Yoon Hye Jin, a dentist who moves from Seoul to the seaside village of Gongjin, and Kim Seon Ho as Hong Doo Shik, an odd-jobs expert who helps everyone around town. Lee Sang Yi plays Ji Sung Hyun, a variety show PD known for creating warm content about people’s everyday lives.

 

Even ahead of the premiere, Shin Min Ah and Kim Seon Ho are generating lots of buzz for their romantic chemistry. Shin Min Ah expressed her satisfaction in their work together, commenting, “As there’s so much anticipation, rather than feeling pressured, I gained strength to film. Kim Seon Ho has such a good personality and is the type to make you feel comfortable. [Through this project] I wanted to show a flexible image and he responded to that well. To me, I think we match well.”

 

 

Kim Seon Ho agreed and added, “I talked about this with Lee Sang Yi but Shin Min Ah has an open and generous mind. She accepts anything. That’s why every moment was enjoyable. She always comes with fun ideas and implements them. It was so fun and we laughed a lot.”

 

The two leads are already being coined the ‘dimple couple’ for their similar smiles and Kim Seon Ho commented, “Isn’t there a vibe when we take photos together? It became a source of strength that people said we looked good together. It felt good to hear that our images overlapped.”

The director also expressed his happiness with the duo, explaining, “My satisfaction with their chemistry is very high. They call it their ‘visual chemistry’ and even the camera director said that the balance of their two-shot was so good. The actors’ facial expressions looked so comfortable both when filming and when not. My satisfaction [with the actors] is so high, to the point where I figured there wouldn’t be a lot for me to do.”

 

Lee Sang Yi also discussed the comfortable atmosphere on set, sharing, “I always think that I should do projects where I can form long-lasting relationships, but I think this is the one I’ll make the most through.”

 

He continued, “While filming, I’m learning a lot from Kim Seon Ho and I’ve often thought, ‘A senior [actor] really is a senior.’ Shin Min Ah is a great person with a big heart and open mind. She set out the foundation for me to have as much fun as I want. It was such an enjoyable set.”

 

 

To conclude, director Yoo Je Won shared, “I hope you watch this as a healing drama that slowly draws you in. For starters, it’s fun, and I think it’ll turn out really pretty because it was filmed by the ocean. I hope people watch with a comfortable heart and look upon it comfortably and cutely.”
