Episode 11

 

Shin So Eun's confession felt kind of random in the beginning of the episode. All I could think of was whether Ji Woon really did leave. Although it is true that So Eun likes Ji Woon, the Uncle was so far away to be able to confirm it so all of it was just based on his speculation. They could've easily argued he was up to no good based on his reputation. Pfft. But anyway, I get that "any bad rumour" is not good for a Crown Princess-to-be candidate, and not to mention Ji Woon and her were holding hands at the time and it's taboo for unmarried man and woman to have skinship in that era.

 

And damn, the King and Hwi have too many enemies! Everyone is up to no good, even Hyun's older brother, Prince Wonsan. I'm really annoyed with that Royal Uncle and Minister Han. Minister Han barges into the Queen's quarter without even bowing and paying his respect to the King and her! Then he slaps Lord Chang Cheon in front of the King. Weren't not long ago he was talking about moral principles before to Hwi? LOL. And I see none of it FROM him.

 

Did the Uncle really kill himself because he felt humiliated for kneeling before a maid? He's such a coward that I could hardly believe this and Prince Wonsan JUST happened to appear there seems waaaay too fishy for me. At first I thought would it be Ga On or Hyun who did it but then I thought none of them would put Hwi in a hard place other than Wonsan. He HAD to be the killer.

 

Ok, I didn't expect Ji Woon really left Hanyang (and the siblings?) because of love. I love how Ji Woon was taking advantage of Hyun when he visit and got him to do chores for him Love it. So cute. I teared up a little (only a little) because Ji Woon and Dam-i miss one another, more at the scene when Hyun purposely mentioned he met up with Ji Woon. He sees how much Dam-i was affected by it. But I teared up more at the scene where Dam-i explained to Eunuch Hong and Lady Kim about her action.

 

I'm so happy Hyun was honest with Dam-i he knows she's a woman and gifted her the red shoes. But WOW, really didn't expect the King to really see Dam-i wearing the red shoes and her hair down. Usually the preview likes to mislead viewers and this time they weren't. The King didn't even look shocked so maybe he DOES know. I actually thought he was impressed with what Dam-i/Hwi did to the Uncle. Unfortunately things got out of hands now he's also put in a difficult position. I like that he's also protecting Ga On in the dark.

 

We're only at episode 11 so I didn't expect Dam-i's identity to be found out so quickly by the King AND we have an eloping scene in next episode! How is that going to work for the rest of the show? From the preview it seems like the King did depose Hwi and then the eloping happened and Ji Woon's father is chasing after Dam-i. So I'm guessing Minister Han is going to get rid of the King (by poison?) and forced Dam-i to be King.

 

@Chocolate This episode has lotsa politics plotting and your eloping is coming up. LOL. I was a bit "urghhh" because it's almost always the same thing just acted out by different people.

Thanks for the summary. I have only watched bits and pieces so am not following the politics. Will watch tonight since he will find out she is a girl right?!

 

You mean the King knows she is a girl - how did he find out or has he known all along? How about the evil grandfather?

Yeah looks like Ji Woon will find out she's a girl. I hope it's Hyun who told him or he recognises her from something she says or does at their secret place...

The King didn't look shocked as he saw Dam-i let her hair down and was wearing the red shoes walking around in her bedroom. The episode ended there so I don't know whether he does know. It just seems he does since there was no big reaction on his face or eyes. Who knows it could be misleading and played out differently after editing in tonight's episode?

 

The evil grandfather definitely does not know. However, tonight's episode he might...

Tonight right ? Last night's episode was really quite heartbreaking. I cried for her when she tried on those shoes. I am under the impression the father doesn't know and was shocked to see her.

Oh my...the King knew she was a girl since he became the crown prince. So him delaying the marriage was likely to protect her as much as he could. I feel better that he has silently loved her and was trying to protect her . No wonder he always came across so conflicted.

After confirming each other's feelings with that kiss, Ji Un proposed they run off together. But Dami is adamant that they go separate ways as she wanted him to have a happy life ( she likely feels with her life will be complicated & difficult)

So while our guesses on how she came to possession of the red shoes were wrong, I’m glad my faith in the King was not in vain - he really did know and was trying to protect her from greater complications by refusing to install her as crown prince to begin with. No wonder his triple hatred for his first FIL - his power hunger, his “killing” his daughter once, and his killing of his son. 

 

And that seems to have been a very quick end for the minister of personnel and his daughter too, unless there’s more to come. But that was quite so very swift… 

 

I’m actually relieved that the reveal has come. As I had said before, the tension was starting to wane. But now that everyone including Jiwoon’s dad now knows, Dami is less safe than before. I wonder if Jiwoon’s dad (and his absolute blind loyalty to her granddad) will let Granddad know who she really is, and if in his absolute greed for power, he will still install her as king. It looks like king will die next week before he can officially install his second son as CP and Dami will be taken back to the palace again.

And I suspect that her maternal grandfather will ensure that she becomes the King no matter what. Even if he knows he is girl , I think it won't matter. He will want a puppet he can control.

So glad I refrained and watched this weeks episodes in one go! am left partly dazed.  so much happened.

 

When it was revealed His Majesty  KNEW the true identity all along.  I felt sad and happy at the same time.  An sad reminder of the. truth, Who wears the Crown bears the crown… I just realized that quote is Kim Tan from Heirs?    Funny how that popped up in my head.  am cracking up… excuse me. 
 

Back to being serious.  suprised after the kiss Ji Woon still hadn’t caught on to CP identity.  giving prompts to the writer to show that his love was deeply real.   

 

BUT an little annoyed here that Ji Woon find out when he sees the Boobs!  ONLY the boobs is the identity the breaker.  Not dressing like a girl or during their kiss.  Oh well… pushing the boobs under the rug and moving on.

did my eyes fool me? I think the grandfather shed tears of CP Leaving. kinda confusing because didn’t he send that mad crazy Jung seok Jo after CP???  
 

whew next week is going be good.  
Just saw the preview post.   Am sad there is more sad news.  I was hoping Dami could finally live as a girl.  
 

now I see if those tears of his grandfather shed upon her departure that was definitely the loss of greed and power.  
 

I wonder now how this is going to end…. Hope something positive
