Yep, it sounds like working-class, self-made rich guy (but without much class) meets noble, world-old rich girl (with lots of class). Since it's a rom-com it'll probably have some funny hijinks and misunderstanding while they struggle over the gallery. The Chinese description seems to be similar to what I've seen written in the English descriptions so far for the characters...he's a CEO of a food and bev company with like 400 stores but his family became rich from their potato/ pork stew restaurant...and she was always in the art world, becoming a director, but somehow may lose her art gallery? 

 

I think the story could be fun and I'm always intrigued about any dramas set in the world of the Arts...But I'm still very confused about the chain of events  (I think there's still huge leaps as to why a food CEO wants to acquire an art gallery ) but the storylines often make sense once they get underway since these descriptions often leave out those links in the plot (I'm not sure if this is just things lost in translation or deliberate).

 

But I don't think I'll be watching this one...I like KMJ, but don't know if he's on oppa status just yet. No interest in PGY. Depends on who gets casted and how it all looks and timing, I guess

@mademoiselle @JenL - I guess I don't really have any issue with the actress. I haven't really seen her in any projects besides IONTBO (only briefly in Sweet Home because I haven't finished it). The pairing just doesn't seem appealing to me, neither does the storyline...and I guess the broadcasting network too.  Although, I kind of want to speak the female lead speak those seven languages. LOL!

I think because of how many of these have happened in the past few months, production companies may be a little more careful on who they cast now.

But I also was raising my eyebrow with Cho Seung Woo x Park Shin Hye couple, but im the end, I love them. So, who knows lols....

Whereas JKY's character knows he's good looking. He appears like a playboy but he has his reason. The theme is "parting" so it's a story about "parting" as well as the ups & downs of love.

Huh haha... I'm not that fans of this type of story? I also don't like JKY role in WWW. Sounds very similar to WWW.

LOL Jen! Y'know I never watched My Private Life. I am kinda interested in this drama though and now that it has added KMJ, it's piqued my interest more. I hope there are many delicious scenes of pork stew!

Giving me My Fair Lady vibes where she educates him in the fine arts and polish off his rough edges! This could be fun!

 

 

Sharing this because y'all might be interested. I don't know who he is but this drama is on my radar because I read the webtoon.

@Jane Ahn Bo Hyun has been in a fair few drama but began to gain attention when he did Itaewon Class with Park Seo Joon. Oh, he was also in My Private Life (second lead). Yumi's Cell suddenly became a lot more interesting to me upon finding out who will pen the drama, LOL.

 

It's Kim Min Jae so I'll definitely check it out before deciding whether it's good to continue.

This will be co-written by 3 writers.

 

Song Jae Jung and Kim Yoon Joo are considered well-known because of their collaboration on Nine: 9 Times Time Travel and Queen In Hyun's Man. Separately, I really liked SJJ's W: Two Worlds and Memories of the Alhambra. She specialises in Sci-Fi so is Yumi's Cell Sci-Fi? She writes captivating stories and character (mostly male lead). I'd criticised she didn't do so good with the latter half of those two dramas. But I'd still gladly take her drama up because she writes dramas that excite my brain cells.

 

Kim Yoon Joo wrote Duel, which is another drama I really really love. Find Me in Your Memory was also decent. Not super woah, but decent and solid enough. @abs-oluteM and I like Duel. @Tofu and I enjoyed Find Me. LOL.

 

And then there's a newcomer writer Kim Kyung Ran which I don't know. I wonder just exactly how much will the experienced ones contribute because I'm speculating whether they are lending their big names for this newcomer. That said, I think there are a fair few newcomers who are writing some very interesting (and even better scripts) than the old, famous drama scriptwriters recently e.g. Ryu Bori for Brahms and the writers for Run On and Search WWW.

@mademoiselle Nope, Yumi isn't sci-fi at all! But if you are saying that SJJ is character-driven and especially good with male leads than I can see why she is participating. The story has three male characters that feature in Yumi's life romantically. She is involved with them in a chronological manner so no love square, thank goodness! There's also the many cute and funny cells that will require developing so perhaps one of the writers will be in charge of that. Good to know that the first two writers already have a collaborative relationship, I think that with this drama having two seasons and unfolds over several years of Yumi's life to chronicle her growth in her work and relationships, having three writers sounds right to make sure all aspects are looked after.
